yea i looked around the post and yea i seen it..i dont like that one...

There are others, but they suck. IMSMS kicks ass.
If you don't like it, youmight want to watch the tutorial videos on the site that made it first, then you'll know how to use it.
The other Threader programs out there are...
These.

REDZ, you're pathetic.
Here you go bud:
http://trianglepowers.com/PPC/ViewApp.aspx?ID=60
Aside from some minor bugs, this app kicks IMSMS's arse!

I couldn't get IMSMS to catch sms messeges when they came in.
I read the recomended registry tweeks that they say should fix this problem but they say that it happens when you upgrade to winmob6 from winmob5.
My dash came with version 6 installed. Should I still try the tweaks?

I'd try them. I upgraded from WM5 to WM6, then to the new HTC rom, and this IMSMS has worked fine on both WM6 roms I've had on, no problems.
You went and checked all of the settings?
I WAS using Triangle Powers threader before, but it's buggy, likes to hang, and doesn't have some of the nice options that IMSMS has.
If trying to help folks learn to search for their own answers is pathetic, consider me the King.

Triangle Powers is better then IMSMS because it sometimes doesnt catch the messages and when it does it shows up both on the phone SMS and in IMSMS which is annoying... Is there anyway to fix this and my phone came with WM6 installed on it but I flashed it with HTC rom.

Really? I've never once had IMSMS miss a text, but Triangle Powers would miss one or two a day. Triangle powers likes to freeze up, and if you got 2 incoming messages from one person before you read the first one, the screen after you looked at it would be screwed up. Triangle Powers would leave DOZENS of copies of the same message thread in the task manager, and if you get a message in the middle of replying to one, you have to start all over.
IMSMS has a TON of options, and the best support site I've ever seen for software like this. If you haven't gone through all of the options on the program, or haven't at least watch the tutorial videos on the site, then you shouldn't be complaining. IMSMS is a bit more involved, but when mastered, a much better program all around.

SPB pocket plus

Hey guys. I've noticed that my new XDA2s is horribly slow and unstable in comparison to the XDA2 which it replaced courtesy of my insurance.
Anyway, thought that as its so appaulingly slow, the "close" feature of pocketplus would be brilliant for speeding things up a tad (and hopefully stopping the chronic crashing).
Anyhow, although it works, it seems to make sending text messages... well interesting. They take up to 4 minutes to send IF they send at all.
My friend with a 2s (with imate ROM) also experiences the same problem. Anyone found a way around it? Sorry if this has already had a thread, I'm a bit of a n00b and I dont think I understand the forum search properly lol.
Cheers -Mike
Hiya Mike,
The trick is to not let Pocket Plus close the Messaging program. To do this, go to Pocket Plus options, select the close button options and select the "Exceptions" tab. Add the messaging program (should be "tmail.exe") to the list and this should solve your problem.
Craig.
that sure helps!
cheers!
I can't believe I didn't think of that! Lol. Cheers bud, I'll give it a go when I get back to my docking station
Perfect Thanks for the help.
I've just added Pocket Plus today and within 4hrs, i've soft reset it 3 times. Does anyone know why? I'm using XDA IIs with Pocket Informant and Pocket Breeze. My wireless standby light still flashes green but the Today screen is completely frozen.
Does anyone know why? or maybe offer some insite as to why?
Thank you.. !
Same for me until I stopped playing with SPB Pocket Plus options. Leave them alone and all should be well. I contacted SPB and they said they couldn't replicate the problem but many others on this forum have had problems.
My Xda 2s need resetting about 4 times a day regardless. It likes to freeze when I press the hardware buttons. I reckon if I do 4 different tasks (ie. recieve a call, send a message, listen to a song and open Word for example) I can rely on having to coft reset. Mina does th same as described above. It also likes to not bring up caller ID, or I get calls which connect, but hang up on the other person. I'm really surprised this thing passed trading standards :s

Sometimes I have this happen as well. For me, it's when someone is attempting to send an MMS to my phone. You can go into the Messaging application and sometimes you'll notice the incoming MMS message icon. It looks like a box with an envelope tilted diagonally.
Yeah this happens to me when in log into oz messenger its so annoying.
does anyone have an idea on how to "avoid" this annoying thing?
I mean, I've 'mis configured' the carrier messaging confs, just for testing purposes, and it still happen to...
Only time i've ever had my screen light up is when i've had my Light Config app running for backlight on 6.1, but only happened a few times and its been awhile.
I'm using WM 6.0
and got no light app running

Hey just update your dash to The free Kavana 6.1 rom, and then its in programs and Accessories, rom also has a built in processor overclocker, goes to 288 but do not attempt more then 264 Mhz unless you have a tiwan S620 or S621, ones in china shouldnt do more then 264Mhz 6.0 is stock 6.1 is very easy to install.
Mine does the same thing, WM6.1 Rose, but it is because there is software that runs in the background that ques the light. With my device it is IM+, Flexmail, and there is another that does the same, just can not remember, maybe an RSS reader or Activesync.....
Mine (Rose) does this when someone sends me a message that the phone loses and doesn't display somehow. This started happening when I installed Rose, and also goes hand in hand with the message-related memory leak, which is why I've come today to install something different. I can't afford to be losing messages, especially when lighting up signals that something has obviously happened, and then I never get to see it.

Well I'd love to fix this problem, so if it's a user error that's causing the messages to never deliver, please let me know what it is so I can fix it. The memory leak is real however, and causing me to reboot, or, when I don't in time, it freezes, crashes, and then loses messages that I had already gotten (which is understandable in a crash and not the same as the lost messages I'm talking about above).
The messages get lost completely randomly, from different people, and whether I've just rebooted or not. They get lost in the middle of texting where all other messages come through from the same sender as well as others and they get lost when they are the only message in hours. If this is a user error, PLEASE let me know what it is.. because I even went to the trouble of having different people re-send me the lost messages so I could compile them and compare them to see if it was something in the actual text of the message causing the loss. Found nothing.
The only thing that ties the lost messages together is that the screen lights up, like it normally does right before displaying a new message, but then does nothing afterwards and the message never makes it. What's going on? What's the user error?
Thanks in advance.

I don't know the difference in semantics, so feel free to let me know. What I know is, the messages get sent from the senders, my phone lights up as if it was receiving them, but they never actually appear in my inbox. I don't know if this is called delivering or receiving... but whatever the issue is called, it's a problem.
AND I do not know if it has anything to do with the rom, but this problem was never apparent before I switched.. so I don't know what to think.

No one else has ever mentioned this in over 3000+ downloads so please understand why i don't understand, hard-reset, reflash would have been my answer if you had approached the thread with your issue, i have also responded in the thread to you.
Lol it's not an issue or something that needs to be resolved, it's simply your phone communicating with your providers network. This communication causes the phone to come out of standby and in doing so lights up.
I admit it's annoying and I often sit waiting for a text to come in or something but it's a normal and important function of the device.

i reflased my rom like 20 times in the past 2 weeks(just exagerating) but i never had any problems the only problem i had was nrgs weather thing wasn't working right thats why i flashed.
Mine does it too, but the pros with the ROM seriously outweighs the cons. I can deal with a few bugs as long as it dosent interfere with phones main funtions.
I also have noticed when the phone goes idle, sometimes the screen turns white and the backlight never shuts off. This is usually fixed with a reboot. Does anybody else have this happen on their phones?
its just your phone giving you some love and letting you know that its thinking about you. they are very personable.

Nope not for me.
I havent notcied that problem with mine. Also att stock rom on the tilt 2 only have the newest radio installed 4.4.9 (i think it is). and no issues with sms or mms not coming in when the screen is off, never noticed an issues before updating the radio either though.
Try this: Start > Settings > Sounds & Notifications > Notifications > Event:
Reminders > check "Display message on screen."
new text message > check "Display message on screen."
new MMS message > check "Display message on screen."
Ect ..
Also .. try this cab ..
I spoke too soon. I have recently been encountering this ever since I flashed the htc stock rom 1.86.401.0. it doesnt happen often, but it has caught my attention. before it would come thru with the screen off and when it did come thru the screen wouldnt turn on which was great, but now sometimes it will come thru and sometimes it wont until I turn the screen on, and I have events notification unchecked, I like the idea that the screen doesnt come on to avoid accidential touching of the screen when in the clip. So has anyone found anything to make it stop? Using tilt 2 on ATT.
this sometimes happens to me but a soft reset helped a bit i have no clue as to why this happens but id like to get an answer if anyone can post back
same thing had happened to me. i found out it was the new pocket shield that i was running that kept me from getting the they r suppose to come in.. hard reset will kill it and should b up n running... im on sprint running stock rom!
Werll I dont have the pocket shield. And mine started doing it after flashing the stock rom on HTC site for EU. So I know its not any programs I put in or any custom roms. I think what happens is the radio possibly falls asleep at times and doesnt wake up.
this happens to me as well, but not all the time. Im on official WWE 6.5 Asia ROM.
Strangely, this happen whenever i use custom ringtones (not from windows). Whenever i switch to any ring from windows, the message comes all the time. Can anybody confirm this?
I have the same problem. I have an official Eastern Europe ROM 1.86.401.1. (clean install, no third parties soft installed).
The problem appears even with windows ringtones. I hope there will be a hotfix soon! All my friends think I am ignoring them

Same here. but I also found another bug, I know I should make another post, but I think XDA will kill me
But if you happen to notice that along with this, you will notice that at times, the txt will come thru but you get no alert. And I am using the same rom your using. Its been happening since this rom, and also happens with nrgz rom so its specific to the rom not the tinkering. But I was txting someone today and after about the 3 or 4th interchange I noticed the person hadnt txt back in like 10 mins, when I turned the screen on there was a txt msg that didnt notify me, didnt turn on or alert me, so there seems to be two bugs with it.
Unless anyone has looked into this, I am going to look further and see if this is only when using HTC's enhanced msg program, if it happens thru WinMO going thru all messages. I'll let you know unless someone has looked into this already.

so far im using the ringtones that is provided by default from the windows and everything is good. Will report back though if i do find the problem again.
Oh and btw i had the stock 6.1 WWE Asia ROM before i upgrade to the official 6.5, the 6.1 behave the same way too. Perhaps it is the manila messaging that cause the problem
edit: I contacted HTC via email and they said that they "have no special setting" for this isssue. They suggest me to perform a hardreset. I replied back, "i have and the problem still exist". I'll see what they send me tomorrow and i'll share it with you guys.
I do suggest that we all report this bug to HTC via their email customer service thing so that they recognise the problem and release the hotfix.

I think they are going to have a difficulty with this one because its not repetative and is intermittent. I can say I never noticed this with the HTC Fuze and dont think I ever had this problem.
And being that it doesnt happen often enough I dont think people are going to catch it and they are going to think that they just didnt hear it, unlike us nuts
Hi guys i have posted this on another thread but it has similar symptoms, below is what i have posted in the thread.
I am having a problem with the notification system.
Lets say a person Name "A" sent me a sms, the phone will ring and the light blinks if i did not attend to it.
However the problem starts whenever I replied "A" but left the phone in the TF3D threaded msg screen with "A". After sometime the phone goes to standby. But when "A" replies my msg again, they phone only vibrates and does not ring. The Yellow Led does not blink as well.
I am currently using a stock ROM and i am not sure if you guys experience this as well.
This is Rather annoying as most of the time after replying a person's sms, i would just hit the standby button straight away without bother exiting the threaded sms screen. But if i do that, the next sms that comes in from the same person will not ring or trigger the LED.
I am not sure if this problem has been posted and fix, but after many days of searching i cant seem to find a solution for it.
some basically it means the notification did not come through only in the manila threaded msg screen with the specific person, because i guess they somehow got tricked to thinking that we are actually reading the msg when in reality the screen is off and we are not reading it. Please Check if this describe your problem.
I still need a solution for this
pukipuki,
Seems based on what your saying this might be the htc manila msg program, can you confirm if the same happens if you go to all msgs and bring up the person your talking to thru there and see if it happens that way too? My suspicision is that it wont do it, but I want to be sure, cause thats been my guess all along.
Or can anyone else confirm that it is only happening in the htc threaded msg and not the winmo threaded msgs.
My suggestion would be to try turning System Event Sounds on in the Sounds section in the Settings tab in TouchFLO/Sense. (Alternatively you can acheive the same effect by ticking the Events checkbox in the Sounds tab in "Sounds & Notifications" in Settings for WinMo.)
I came across the 'no sound alert' problem for new texts and found that the audio alert tone came back when I made the above change. (Funnily enough when I was having this problem, I had enabled vibrate for new texts and the phone vibrated even though there was no audio.)
Even with that setting on, the problem still exists.

No SMS Notification

Hi,
I have my Touch Pro2 only a couple of weeks now, but I get pretty annoyed by the fact that it only notifies me randomly for a new SMS. Most of the time the green light will go flashing, but the three consecutive vibrations won't come out of themselves, or will be done spread out over a minute or so. They do kind of get jump started when I press on the standby button on top of the phone, but that's kinda the wrong way around isn't it?
I have a 'normal' TP2 (T7373) and only the original ROM-stuff, updated with the official HTC-manila update. I bought it at a smartphone shop and chose T-Mobile as my provider, it isn't the T-Mobile version of the phone.
I have looked around here for some answers, but couldn't find them. The whole HTC SMS app also runs slow, but I think that's the extra weight of 2.5 (even while running addictRAMcleaner).
Is there some kind of fix for this or a way to give this task a higher priority?
Thanks in advance,
Tiemen
I have had this notification lag. I never found a way to solve this. I suggest you learn how to flash your TP2. Also the sms client from the official 2.5 version really sucks. Most of the custom roms have ripped this out and have put a decent sms client in their roms. If you learn how to flash you won't regret it and you never want a stock rom again.
flash a recent rom that many people are using!
like Tuberculosis your problem was so yesterday.

SMS is KILLING ME!! HELP! I beg you!

I'm at my wits end, and I'm desperate for a fix.
I have a Touch Pro 2 with Verizon, and it originally had WM 6.1 preloaded, which was ok, although there were quite a few issues that made the phone very unpleasant.
After a few months, a Verizon tech suggested that I upgrade to WM 6.5, which I did. Although it did seem to clear up the issues, I soon found out that 6.5 brought a whole host of new ones that weren't just a nuisance, they were devastating.
Chief among all the problems is this issue I'm having with SMS's. tmail.exe now locks up the phone all the time. Initially, I thought that the problem was the 2000+ texts on my phone, but even after removing over 1800 of them the problem persists.
In desperation, I spent hours upon hours reading the forums here and in many other places to try and figure this problem out. Of course, both Verizon and HTC were useless. I finally changed my ROM to mightyrom, and even after tweaking the **** out of my phone, the problem persists.
Basically, what it does is this. If the backlight turns off, it won't turn on again over 75% of the time, at least not immediately. Sometimes it takes a good 2-5 minutes to turn back on, and even then the sms program is lagging the hell out of my phone.
If the backlight is on and a new text is received, it could take upwards of 45 seconds for the phone to regain functionality enough for me to look at the damn thing.
I've removed the text tab from the Touch Flo menu, and now I use the standard sms program. I try to kill the damn sms program every chance I get, and I installed process manager specifically for this task, and nothing, and I mean NOTHING that I've tried has fixed the problem.
I am at my wits end, and I seriously do not know what else to do. If this goddamn problem was fixed, the phone would be incredible and perfect and make me very happy. The rest of it's quirks are very manageable and a tiny insignificant nuisance compared to this nightmare issue.
I beg you, please give me a little of your time and please please please help me.
You have my most humble thanks.
Do a hard reset and do not tweak the f*** out of your phone. Do you still have the issue when running "plain vanilla?"
Sounds like your gettings SOD's (sleep of death) a common fix for that is to task 29 between flashes.
And HTC Messenger is terrible! I recommend finding a ROM without HTC messenger(energy for example)
Allways remember to task 29 between flashes. and you will need to enter bootloader(vol down + power while rebooting) after doing this to sync with your pc or use the sd card install method.
GOOD LUCK my friend!

Yes, and that's the problem. Both a clean install of WM 6.5 and mighty rom had the same SMS issue. The only reason I've done any tweaking is to resolve this issue. I would be absolutely thrilled if a hard reset would fix the problem, and I would stop adding things immediately were that the case.
Instead, the issue arises immediately and then I spend hours trying to fix it.
It's very sad.

id flash the ROM again. like energy or one without htc messenger in it. the zenyee cab is not perfect best to have a ROM that has never seen htc messenger
