I noticed in my instruction manual i should be able to get a screen orientation icon on my today screen so i can change between landscape and portrate. can some please help me on how to get this icon to show. Maybe im just doing something silly but i can figure it out!
thanks
That functionality is missing from the current O2 UK Orbit rom - the instruction manual was written before the current rom was finalised
maybe this?
Hi thanks for your fast reply's. I tried to install thats cab but i just said install unsuccessful? maybe not compatable? So the rom version iv got is not finished? Is there a rom version with this feature available?
Sorry to be a pain.
landscape
If its any help, you can just go to Settings and Screen, and set orientation to landscape. To make it easier, I assign a hardware button to it (holding the record button for a long time) Works good for me, given that there is no icon.
Anyone else had any luck with this? I'd love an easier way to change orientation of the screen, but I've tried running the CAB file (as well as tweaking the registry myself), but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Any ideas?
I've got an 02 XDA Orbit.
Cheers,
Tim
I have done the same and revled no such luck, again i would ask ditto to the post above.
Hi all,
first, I'm new here
I tried to search this forum for my problem (and other webstes, too) but so far I haven't found anything.
I recently installed RealVGA. After some issues, mainly problems with the screen keyboard which does not work with 96 dpi and has alot of problems under 128 dpi, I decided to uninstall it. After that, my screen was completely messed up - first of all, the welcome screen was white (ok I could live with that) but then my screen resolution was huuuuge and the device more or less unusable (see attached screenshots). I couldn't figure out how to fix this without creating even more problems....does anyone have an idea what I could do? I would prefer not to do a hard reset...
I have a Samsung i780 with Windows Mobile 6 Professional German. The RealVGA file I used is named RealVGA.ARM.cab
Anybody any ideas?? I figure it has something to do with the re-setting of the dpi...bo...
Thanks alot in advance!!
Best Regards,
Caroline

You can try reinstall RealVGA but I am afraid you should make a hard reset or flash a new working rom like EFN's 96 dpi PXIHH5 it works fine and you can install new shell like this from my unit:http://sghi780.extra.hu/m2d.htm
Hi there,
how can I reduce the brightness of the screen?
I searched ( quite a lot) on this forum and on google, but so far no tool worked.
(TornadoPower and BL2 produced error messages)
Any idea?
Cheers,
XDanero
(I'm not able to use WM6 because for my device - O2 XDA Cosmo -
I found no original ROM. It's only one week old and I don't want
to loose the 2-year-warranty )
Ummm you will not lost warranty if you flash your phone, you can always reflash back to the original rom. However, I know that our 6.1 rom has this program that reduces the LCD brightness in lower power mode; however, I do not know if that program is available on the market.
Hi,
it seems like Navigon tried to implement WVGA resulution in their latest version of Mobile Navigator MN 7 v7.3.2 ... however, unsuccessful :-(
To make it work, unzip the attached "BinaryConfig.XML" and replace it on the device in the "\navigon\" directory... other files don't need to be replaced any more.
This fix applies only to v7.3.2!
regards jan
EDIT: I've replaced the first file by 3 others... the first is identical to the original posted here earlier, the others "stretch" mn7 to a mixture between vga and wvga, and to fullscreen wvga. Backgound (in German language can be found here)
to sum that up:
-people who like the version without stretching take the first file,
-people who like higher use of the screen and still want the full functionality (in landscape mode) take the 2nd file,
-people who like full-screen with restrictions to functionality (in landscape mode some software-internal scroll arrows can not be accessed) take the third file
regards jan
Indeed. The 7.3.2 did not launch and I had to soft reset my Touch HD.
Thanks for your files !
Do you know what are the changes brought by 7.3.2, otherwise than the WVGA resolution failed attempt ?
Does not work good.
But good Try.
Cool
Working perfect for me
Thanks a lot
where find 7.3.2 ?
thank you

what exactly do you mean?
Probably he means that - at least for 480x800 - not better than what was given at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446487&page=15 post # 148
but anyway thanks for other resolutions.
Hallo,
how did you get the Touch HD running on 7.3.2?
I also run this config, but my Touch HD don`t recognize the internal GPS. What will I have to do that the MobileNavigator will find GPS???
Hello!
I´ve got the problem, when i want to start the MN7.3.2 in landscape mode, the mn7 goes for approx. 5seconds to horizontal mode, but starts in landscape. Then it rotates to landscape, but the mn7 is cut to the left half.
Has anybody an idea?
I use MaryOne ROM from HelloNasty, so it rotates for itself.

if you haven't changed any gps settings on the hd itself and if you don't use any port splitter like serilot or glopus, it should work with the following manual gps settings in navigon setup:
GPS Type: Internal GPS only
GPS-Port: Com4: ActiveDevice
GPS Baudrate: 4800
TMC: None
at least that works for me...
good luck

You have to make sure that the screen is in landscape mode (which means not only hold the device in landscape, but have an open window (i.e. file explorer) which actually is displayed in landscape) BEFORE you start MN7, and it should stay like that all the time. MN7 gets "confused" when you change screen orientation during operation. maybe you should exclude it from your g-sensor app.
hope that helps...

Update to MN7.3.2
I Have problems updating to 7.3.2.
Have copied the Software (7.3.1) to the HD in HDD-Mode and installed everything. Then Installed NavigonFresh on my PC and plugd in my HD in HDD-Mode. When I hit Update Navigon-Sofware I get the massage: "Ungültige Gerätedefinition" (=>Invalid Devicedefinition)
What am I doing wrong? Created an Account and everything. Do I Have to buy MN to Update?
MN7
What did I do wrong - Icopied the binaryconfig file as you said but when I launch MN7 still no display. Can you help?
HD switching off
Hi all,
Since I have installed navigon MN7, my HD does not switch off automatically anymore.. That's very bad for the battery. Any idea how to solve this problem?
Thanks !
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446487&page=43 (hope this becomes a link), post #423. The hard reset may not be necessary; I did it because I wanted to clean the device of any unexpected effects which I was afraid would have been created by MN7 using the "wrong" xmls. Sorry I tried both on my PC (the installation program) and on my HTC HD (my trail version) but coud not find a menu option saying which version of MN7 I have!
Thank you hausen, it works perfectly on my Diamond2!
Hi all,
today i've bought a Navigon Mobile 7 for my HTC HD2, installed, updated via Freshstuff and till this morning my NM7 wouldnt start at all...i modified it with the files provided here (.xml) tried with soft and hard reset, uninstalled Copilot Live 8 (thought was a kind of conflict). The manual say:
- use 2 gb sd micro card to install the software..i've used 4 gb and 8gb...maybe is mandatory???
the program start and remain freezed fro few second (without any welcome screen, just the pda freezed...) then i checked in the task manager and i saw was in run using 2.49 mb of resources and i had to stop it few time...
now...any solution about? or i have to be again a bad guy and stop to buy software but just have to keep download cracked software?
Thank you all for the answers,
S. aka Dr. Dobermann...ANGRY...really ANGRY!
thanks

might actually work
Hello all!
Tonight I have successfully ported Hermes 23008 SYS/XIP to Treo 750! I am very excited about this because I have been trying for WEEKS!!!
I have built my ROM, it is a successful flash and OS loads and everything.
I have two bugs I need help with, maybe some of you chefs or forum people can help me:
Phone radio does not register, doesn't show up in wireless manager either, only bluetooth shows up. I can't turn on the phone, why do you think that is? What happened during my cook?
When I try to get into the start menu it freezes the phone.
Everything else works fine, including speaker, keypad, brightness controls and other button functions when pressed. I ported and modified all resolution files to 240x240 to work with the Treo 750 including modding some artwork to 240x240 in Photoshop.
Does anyone have tips so that I can get this build fully functional and cook a stable ROM?
Thanks!!
Your device is square????
Hahahaha oh man! didnt told me! lol
Nice to heard it!
Well im having troubles with radio too since 23008 and i need to restart and reset and again my phone to get GSM radio... it really sucks!
MMMM the start issue is due to the cpr grid scene file stored in your sys... i cant remember in wich folder is search in all one by one
you need the square 240 x 240 maybe you dont have it.

Thanks man for all your help.
SOLUTION:
1) Use another build, 23004 etc to fix radio problem
2) My LANG folder.. I forgot to rename to 240x240 and it was WRONG, freezed the menu
