Same question. How to build such an antenna or where to buy it ?
Reflash radio rom.
Hi,
I will try to upgrade the radio. Which one do would you advice for best gsm reception (don't care about bluetooth/wifi/battery) ?
Anyway, as I'm living in a foreign country near my operator's country, I can get a signal but often very bad, I would still be interested in an antena solution to improve the reception. So if anybody as something about it...
signal problem solved
hi every one
i also had the same problem. i flashed my prophet with every version of windows and gsm rom but it didnt work. then i opened the prophet and straightened the antena connectors and then packed it, it worked full signals.
so check your antena connectors inside your phone.
best of luck.

Can anyone recommend a compatible GSM aerial I can attach to the JJ
It has two aerial connections, one for GSM and one for 3G.
At home I have poor GSM reception and no 3G and the JJ seems far worse at picking up a signal here compared to my Sony K750i
Or can someone tell me the connection type used for GSM on the JJ so I can do some research myself via Google
I have a similar problem and would also like to hear of an ariel to use at home.

Have you find some correct connector ?
hi guys
well i have a question... I was digging out whole day the net for info about any mod for the wizard antenna mod...
I own CIngular 8125 aka HTC Wizard 100, and since I have week wifi signal i thought id get better reception..
so i found some sites including instruction here also but i went for this mod
here http://tinyurl.com/y2gke3 exactly i made the same thing as shown here http://tinyurl.com/v2oxv I cut a small piece of antenna between 2 pins rely..
so, actually nothing happened with my GSM signal, it was same as before, but i found out that my wifi signal dropped a bit, which I wanted to increase...
so, i thought for making this mod here http://tinyurl.com/wq8k2 and id like to know if it gets any better wifi signal strenght...
next thing id like to know, is the issue with the antenna... is the same antenna used for GSM and wifi or what? did anyone managed to get any wifi antenna connection on PCB of a wizard so it can be attached a better antena?
if I connect an external antenna to my wizard, will the wifi signal get any better? the pcb looks similar to this picture http://tinyurl.com/y5p7yh and on the left from sd card is the external link...
is there any possibility to get better wifi strength using any kind of hardware mod? smthg like this for axim http://tinyurl.com/sbf3v so i can connect any wifi antenna...
well guys, i was a bit large writing this post but id reeli want to know of theres any possibility to get better wifi signal...
thanks
I recently purchased a samsung captivate glide and I have noticed very spotty coverage and dropped cell connections. Whenever I am indoors I cannot get a signal. The cell reception is very sensitive and constantly shows no connection. I was unsure if anyone else was having this problem?
I found another thread that had a loose sim card issue and attempted the fix but this did not work. I've also tried my sim in another phone in which i had no problem with cell reception. I've relashed the ROM and Kernal multiple times, rooted, unrooted, nothing seems to fix my reception issue... I was not sure i there was a baseband update or I just have faulty hardware. I'm eager to get this phone working at full capacity. How can I get it working properly?
Pertinent Info:
Android Version 2.3.5
Basband Version I927UCKI3
Kernal Version 2.6.36.3
Build Number GINGERBREAD.UCKI3
Carrier AT&T
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like status quo for AT&T
On a serious note; I am not having any such issues here in southern Louisiana where I usually don't get anything but Extended; rarely ever see 3G.
Been looking around for more information. I'm going to try and get a new sim and see what happens. Looks like i'm stuck for the time being :/

Try pulling the battery cover and see if your SIM card is loose? I've advised for a couple different folks having signal issues the same thing, nobody else seems to have the same problem I did - using a smartphone SIM, it looked like the metal cage for the SIM card was a millimeter too large in width and height, I used some strong clear tape to hold the SIM in place and havent had any issues since...
HTH!

//Edit - I need to read the _ENTIRE_ post before replying - sorry, I'm fresh out of ideas if the loose SIM card wasn't the problem :\ -tidE\\
Ok I take no credit for this, but felt bad about the useless post above, crawled a couple more posts this morning, and it looks like mariol66 may have found another solution -

Hello I bought an used ATT Note4 unlocked and I use it with TMobile. I have two problems maybe related. I have very low signal and the phone dont connect in my home and my previous phones didnt have that problem. In works in other places but you know it disconnects inside buildings and low signal areas. I was thinking in flash a TMobile modem and I think its not possible. The other problem is the IMEi that shows in settings is not the same as the sticker behind the battery so something has be done to the phone. Its possible to fix the IMEI to the real one?
Thanks a lot.
It might be a fake, install cpu z and compare the hardware results to a real one
Hello. I have an unlocked i9195 on CM13 official. I currently live in the north of England, and I use the network called giffgaff (O2). I would like to know if any baseband would do or there are specific ones for these circumstances, like os version, location, network. I have bad signal most of the time. LTE does not work 98% of times, WCDMA around 50% and GSM works almost always. Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks for your attention.
i am also on Giffgaff in the midlands. i9195LTE
running TWRP 3.0.3.0 , AOKP official rom 20170202 , remix N v0.6 kernel.
baseband I9195XXUCPI1.tar.MD5 [Vodaphone] latest for this phone ( i believe). from sammobile/firmware ( saw thread here XDA about updating Baseband)

I have the latest BTU version of the baseband installed it's from around 2015 been working fine here.
Its probably a coverage issue I recommended trying other carriers to find out which suits your needs best.
I myself am using unlimited data plan on Three, works wonders.

Any should work, though generally it's recommended you keep your ROM and baseband to a similar release date, especially if you are having issues. Are you still on the original baseband?
You should be getting good converge on O2 or are you in a remote hilly area or near some other source of interference?
Else it could be hardware eg damaged component or poor grounding of aerial or pcb to phone ground plane. (cleaning contacts and/or tightening screws may help)

No I am not on the original baseband. I9195XXUCPE1 currently. Regarding the coverage, I checked on their website and the area its pretty well covered for 4G reception, nonetheless I believe there is probably something wrong with the phone itself, I will probably just give up on this phone and spare myself some days of calamity.
Anyways thanks for your reply.

yes, sounds likely that it is hardware. A quick test you could do is pop the back cover off and connect a small wire to the test connector (at bottom level with the speaker) bypassing the actual antenna, if your signal strength improves then it is proof it is your antenna circuit where the problem is or the contacts.
You can also test by pressing down where the "touch" connectors are., see vid, sometimes it improves reception showing it's a bad connection with contacts.
This is often easily fixed by removing the inner cover & cleaning the contacts or applying a little more pressure to them with a little piece of plastic between them and the cover.
You can see from this video that the antenna are simply a "touch" connection to the main assembly.
about 2mins into the vid
should be a cheap fix at a repair shop if you don't fancy trying it yourself, if this is what it is.
