Mail Header Formatting - P3300, MDA Compact III ROM Development

Anyone noticed that the header area of emails are too wide in the cooked WM6 ROMs? (both in portrait and landscape mode)
In the official WM6 ROM, the "To:", "Sent:" and contact photo all show up correctly.
However, in the cooked ROMs, these header fields display past the vertical scroll bars...
For examples, if there are a long list of email addresses, then the addresses do not wrap and extends beyond the scroll bar. Also contact picture is off the screen as well.

Using tabs

Hello,
I would use tabs in my application as we can see in the "settings" of Pocket PC 2002 (there is three labels in this window).
For the moment, I can only include tabs in a dialog box but I would like these tabs to fill the window (like in the "settings" folder), and I can't.
Precision : these tabs should be in the main view...
Some tips, help or sample code?

I think the stuff you are looking for are property sheets. A nice sample can be found @ msdn:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...lcc/platform/commctls/propsheet/propsheet.asp
The only problem I have is that I can't seem use it for a today.dll. It only shows the first dialog template and doesn't draw the second... (though it enters the INITDIALOG event). So if anyone has any idea's...

WM6 Error: Set as Today Background

I've often been a fan of browsing my device to an image that I wanted to use as the background, viewing it and selecting: Set as Today Background from the menu. This brings up a nice tool that helps you crop the photo appropriately and setting what level of transparency you would like to use. In all previous roms that I've used (1.18 -> 1.35) it has automatically created two images. One for portrait mode and the other for landscape (or perhaps it created a 320x320 image such as the boot screens - I'm not sure). Which ever the case, when you pulled out the keyboard and the device went to landscape, you would have a nicely fitted image. Since updating to WM6 - it creates the image correctly for Portait mode but when you switch to landscape, it tiles the image. This happens both with WM6 Vanilla and WMXL. Has anybody an idea for a solution for this or also had this problem? I listed it a while back in one of the threads but nobody responded so I didn't know if I was the only person with this problem (or am I the only person who sets their background this way?)

HTC home "Favorite People" - names are cut to a few letters only. Any fix possible?

HTC home "Favorite People" - names are cut to a few letters only. Any fix possible?
Does anyone know if there is a way to modify some registry or *.ini settings to display at least some more letters from a last name so the contact can be recognized?
The problem is that when you assign names from contacts list to Favorite People tabs, the font is so small and room is so little that it displays only a few first letters of a name so you can't figure out whose number is there in case you have same last name for a few persons in your contacts. Try it, and you see what I mean. Here is a screenshot from my Favorite people list. As you can see, two different contacts named "Katia Cell" and "Katia Work" are displayed only with words "Katia..." So it's impossible to figure out which contact is which.
My personal opinion is that it's needed to reduce number of people down to six (from ten) so there will be more room to display letters. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.
Hello,
If you put the two phone numbers on the same contact, there will be a small icon in the upper left corner to differentiate cell phone and land line number.
This Favorite People option is to use with the contact who has contact's picture. I am using it with picture contact and its fine. For mobile, home or work an icon appear with the picture if you have the same contact with all the different information.
I got it. Works good with a picture contact. Thanks.

Change font size for messaging?

Specifically, the email and SMS inbox?
Its huge, and a smaller font size would allow more of the header to display....
There's a reg entry in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox that looks like the right thing and place, but it doesn't change anything when altered.

Click to collapse
I know this would work at least for email (haven't checked with SMS).
The quickest way to change font size is:
On your TF3D slider go to Mail view>
If you already have an email envelope on the screen, just Click to open it
(if not, Click any email account icon & open an email) you should be reading the email now>
Click Menu (bottom right of screen)>
At the bottom of the pop-up menu, click the 'down' arrow to get more features>
Click View> Click Text Size>
Adjust to whatever size is comfortable for your eyes/screen.
Choice is Largest, Larger, Medium, Smaller & Smallest.
I noticed that changing the size in one email account makes it change the font size
across all email accounts so one does not need to repeat the steps for each
individual email id on the phone.
HTH.
That changes the text, but not the header/top level display. I'm trying to change the latter.... without success....
I haven't seen any way of achieving that for headers only- on my TP2, or for that matter,
any default email application on a phone yet, if I remember correctly.
I'm guessing I must be misunderstanding your question, as the answer "Settings => Screen => Text size" seem to obvious?
Not as obvious as you might have thought! I put it down to being tired, but I was searching for a "display" setting. "Screen" just didn't jump out at me!
I don't know about Genesis3, but this was exactly what I needed!
Thanks,
Ed

email with HTML and scrolling issues.

We know that WM6.x supports HTML in email.
However, it is difficult, if not possible to scroll right in a HTML email to view all content (there is no scrollbar left-right; only up-down).
I daily get a report which contains a graph and some figures, but i cannot scroll right to view the complete message (if i do scroll to the right, it get to the next email). I need to set view screen to 50% and even then i can only see some 70% of the email.
Is there a trick to do it?. Or is there an enhancement tot the Pocket outlook application?
I also tried Flexmail 4.1 (WebIS), but that application has issues with WM 6.5.x (the scrollbar goes under the bottom taskbar).

When I open an HTML e-mail in WM6.1 (US Tmo stock ROM), I have to click on the "get the rest of this message" link at the bottom of the portion of the e-mail it initially loads, then I wait for it to dl the rest of the message, then there's a "tap here to scroll right" link at the top just under the e-mail headers...I click that and it gives me the ability to scroll the full html message in all 4 directions. Do you not get either of those two options?
