does any one have specifics about ATT compatibility?
does any one know if the fabulous utube stuffs that are in duttys roms are in any of the highest listed with att compatibility ?
thanks again
I've been using Vp3g's latest. It's stable. And works great with ATT.
Good luck
I've used vp3G's latest and currently using K's 1.30 Lite. Both work very well on ATT. Shifted to K's to get the latest WM6. Used lite because I didn't need all the stuff in the Full version.
For your Girlie
I'm with ATT and in Phoenix and inho a few great ROMs have been Satin, Schap's and Shamanix Grass 2.2. If your Girl likes black, Satin is cool. Grass may be a nice ROM for a girl's phone. Schap's stuff all works great out here too. I recommend Grass if she is into aesthetics. Grass is based off of Schap's work anyways. If she likes purple, go with Schap's latest. Also recommend getting the latest radio while you are at it.
i think shes less concerned with color and more concerned with utube
the new duttys rom on my kaiser has the sickest plugin that plays most of the online file formats with tcpmp directly from the browser. do any of the other roms have this?
Install any ROM you like...all you need is the cab file to install the AT&T media settings to customize it to AT&T...
@surfer
This tcpmp cab will play nearly every file format. So now you don't have to let that be a reason for flashing a good rom. You can pick any now!

YouTube Package - TCPMP + Flash Video Bundle (download from below)
Everything you need to start watching youtube and some other FLV sites. Simply browse to the FULL FLV website (NOT mobile version of those web sites) and watch all the videos you want. Clips can also be downloaded to the phone!
***NOTE: Most FLV websites are fully supported, some are not. Do not expect every single FLV site to work.
^ Use the attached file for you tube viewing. You do not have to update your rom to view YouTube files. Although, if I must recommend a rom, have to go with K's rom 1.31. Very nice rom!

Win 6.1 random freeze on multiple ROMS
Hi
I have been trying to install a stable rom to my hermes but i couldn't find one yet ;
i have tried Pays ,Shadows (TE &CE) and some clean edition but still i get stuck in some cases ;
if i have HTC home plugin installed my device freezez quickly ; and also it freezes mostly after waking device.
I have read the forum and as my unprofessional conclusion it is somehow releated with WM 6.1 builds . Does anyone have experience with this ?
PS:i have upgraded my radio and tried to install official rom before ins. anything.
thanx
bartan
I am a ROM freak
I've tried some of the listed ROM's.
I was hooked on vp3G's 3.62 ROM for a while.
I was then hooked on TNT 2.0 --> TNT SE (Stable but still didn't have the cool look)
I then tried K's ROM (very nice looking but buggy) --> I currently have the K's FINAL Full (6mbpp) (very nice looking but stable)
This has been the most stable and responsive and over all satisfactory of ROM's i've tried so far.
As far as Radio i'm still trying to figure that out. I've switched between 1.40 to 1.54 and not i'm currently on 1.48 (i believe this was the radio used with vp3G's Rom)
Good luck w/ your search.
nice thread, i was kinda of thinking on the same lines i need to know what those numbers mean also.
They are all beta ROMS, install at your own risk. But stability wise some of them might be better than others. Good luck!
I mentioned a lot of times in my 3.00 rom thread that the main software is beta. But the development of my work is final.

Under WM5 this used to be the AKU see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adaptation_kit_upgrade
I guess it's still the same for WM6 and WM6.1
I tried the latest Roms from Pay and Faria.
With both i had several hard-resets in the last days.
Which 6.1 Roms are you using?
i use N Pandora 9b1 (it is windows 6.1) and it is fast and stable , no hard resets
edward
I also have been using N Pandora 9b1 for a couple of weeks now and it's been very fast and stable. I have always used Pandora's ROM's and I think they are the best.
Activesync
I synchronized emails, task, contacts... with all WM6.1 Rom, successfully.
shadow te - very fast and stable with lots of apps installed
faria dr. putt... also very fast and stable
p.s. wm6.0 - best rom, K's (can't wait for 6.1 edition)

+1 for Pays . I'm not a power user (no data plan), so I want some basic functionality, only very useful apps included, and lots of stability/reliability. So far Pays ROM is my pick!
As Microsoft doesn't seem to want to mention that WM 6.1 even exists, maybe it is a pile of crap, and they can't get it stable enough for general release? There must be some reason why they didn't even talk about it at MWC 2008.
Could be that they haven't finished comparing all the ROMs on XDA-Devs to find which one they want to use!?
I have tried a few of these new ROMs. Randomize seemed good, but it ended up freezing at second boot screen and would not do anything. Also, no bluetooth explorer.. Now onto CRCs PHK v12 Release 6. All good so far - fast, stable, reliable. Easily connects to wifi, activesync, bluetooth everything. Have a few apps running ok. Not interested in HTC Home, so have Samsung clock instead. Have no complaints except that Solitaire is missing! Have compensated by installing a Gameboy emulator with heaps of games...

that's what I second. After using Schaps for several months...and before Jas' black varieties..
Well I"ve always Stuck with the Notion that if it Doesn't Say FINAL on the Rom Release update... It's Still in Beta and the Dev is Still Working the Lil bugs out and Tweaking Still also Schaps Rom says "Schap's WM6.1 Pro 4.40 Beta ROM - 31-01-2008" lol Pretty much self Explanatory lol But most of These 6.1 Roms Will be in Beta .... Look for the Final then you know it's Sweet
This is something I've been trying to figure out myself.
I see numbers like CE OS 5.2.1620 (build 19521.1.1.0) and CS OS 5.2.19199 (Build 19199.1.0.0).
From what I can tell, CE OS 5.2.19199 Build 5.2.191999 is the RTM build, but I've yet to find anything that lists an official RTM version number from microsoft.
Hello everybody,
I would like to make a tread for the best ROM for the Artemis (yet).

2) Greasy Weasel ROMs
3) O2 Premium 2.0 WM6 WWE ROM, 5.2.1921 SDHC (Full & Lite)

6) BLACK & BLUE v5.0 ROM WM6.1 CE OS 19716 ( Build 19716.1.1.0 )
if there is a ROM that is not listed please let me know..
I'm a german and so I prefer german Roms.
For me the best ROM is Mossis Rom. You can find it here: http://www.mossisrom.de/.
I'm glad with the Megalight Version of Mossis Rom.
For me the best and most stable is Artemis Touch 3.01 Vanilla.
Though I have released a couple of ROMs myself, I still love Meschle's Vanilla 4.01
Regards,
Carty..

Best ROM is.......the next
No, i think best rom not exists: it's a consideration based upon personal taste.
For this reason we (I and my friend cesconoa) are working on an ITA Base ROM fully stable and with hight performance and space, and a fully complete package of tested working cab for personalize it according personal taste.
Artemis Touch 4.01 WM6.1 WWE ROM, 5.2.19199
I have tested many ROM's and the best for me is Artemis Touch 4.01 WM6.1 WWE ROM, 5.2.19199.
This is fast with lost of preloaded software & all usefull functions enabled.
Any the way you can customise all startup animations & layouts from Advance configuration & battery plugin, call count, sms count, etc...
Its really nice & fast ROM.
Artemis Touch is great although the cube can slow it down alot and gets boring after a while and tends to never really get used. I much prefer Vanilla because, as everything is removed which makes it a bit faster and ya have the scope to install only what ya want n need.
how to remove cube from vanilla? Should I reflash it with lighter version?

Rather faster then full, and the answer is YES, it's much more faster.
Vanilla all the way !!!!! -- with a cherry on the top
...been a fan of meschles vanilla versions right from the start on!
They all have, and are, been the fastest of all roms available!!!
A.T.M. its vanilla 4.01, running Artemis Radio 3.08.90 (GSM Upgrade) though with a by far less power drain!!!

Andrew Greens' GW's are to be watched. The new kid on the block has taken out all the stuff a lot of us don't use and is proving stable and reliable. My vote is definitely for GWE 2.1 UCF,nice one
+1 for the Greasy Weasel series and the home of the Greasy Weasel Roms. XDAsite.com
I love Meschle's but the Greasy Weasel is the one for me at moment, been running for a while now, quick and stable!
and Bepes?
you forgot Bepes Artemis WM6 [ WWE | GER ]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=340748
for me it is still the best.
Hey Guys, (and Girls, to those)
I enjoy the XDA Hermes forums very much, particularly the WM6 section. After all, what is more fun than installing different Roms on your Hermes? However, there is one thing what I find troublesome: finding a good Rom, and finding the latest stable version of it. It is sometimes difficult to see the wood for the trees. This, however, is good news, as this means that we have a vivid community!
This topic was created with the idea to collect the links to all (recent) custom Hermes Roms. To this end, it should be easier to find a Rom that suits you best.
If you have any comments, additions, changes, whatever, post it!
If you are a chef: pm me for updates and new roms!
Best and have fun with it!

Yes! This is great!
For it to be continually helpful it needs to be updated all the time as new builds pop up!
I am so very greatful that you have linked all the new Roms! But is there really no new roms out there that isn't just all black or the Diamond Look? Is someone out there doing a "Vista Splash" look for our Hermes or just something not diamond black?
I have a Wizard with the Diamond look how about something different for my new Hermes?

Indeed, black and diamond are hot (unfortunately). However, Binky11's rom (27 May) has a beautiful WM7 theme (especially with SPB Mobile Shell WM7 theme). You could as well install Poorlyduck Vista Suit (google XDA forums), which gives you the Vista theme.
Dillsnik, thanks for your additions. I've added them to the list!
Excellent work, thanks!
Impressive. Sticky This!
Can I please suggest that you put a link in for both my ROMs?
v11 at the moment is the stable release. This is for people who rely on their phones and is tested quite heavily...
v12 is the development (or Beta if you like) release... It is bleeding edge and eventually when deemed stable becomes the next stable release.
I'd hate to have people that rely on their device using a beta ROM
EDIT: Oh, and this thread really should be stickied.....

Hi guys and dolls,
I've been busy doing some performance testing using SPB Benchmark and VSBenchmark.
Not very scientific, these benchmarks don't seem to work that perfect on WM6.1. But for comparing reasons it should say sómething.
Furthermore: a good testresult it no guarantee your device really FEELS fast, often the feeling is different from cold measurements...
All ROMs tested right after flashing, I disabled TF3D, set power to max, no radio, no phoneskin, no SIMcard, tested on batterypower.

Reason for editing: new ROM(s)
Dude im Honored to be the first one to congratttt you on such a fine job!
Good one man!
Test of PDAVIET 1.0 and Panosha lite II added (1st post).
Panosha's doesn't seem to be as fast as I hoped for... (according to the 2 benchmarks).
Nice one mate, Glad to see youre bringing your ideas form Kaiser forums to us, I havent done a bench yet but will when I finish my rom

can't wait to test again...
Great job, thanks.
Really great job !!!
It's amazing to see that the orignal ROM generally has one of the (or THE) best results ^_^
could u maybe benchmark the rom in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2392283
I heard from various people its pretty fast and it packs newest editions of a lot of programs. It's a dutch rom, though the cooker wil prolly make a WWE one also.
Would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, will test it.
I also tested the 6.1.1.15 NLD and I'm afraid it was the slowest ROM I tested on my device...Find out if this one's faster.
great thread
you got me, I love Excel tables ... btw, top test conditions you have there!
Tested new ROM: fixed calculation error + added Surface 6.1.1.16 NLD
hi, new version in post 1
fixed a calculation error and layout a little bit
added Surface 6.1.1.16 NLD
Very Nice work
Very Nice work you got there.
It's Nice, Man.

All ROMs tested right after flashing, I disabled TF3D and all startup programs, stopped running programs, no SIMcard, device on AC adapter.

Speaking from a computer POV, i think it might actually make better sense to "not" disable TF3D & especially startup appz, why?
Let just say that once you disable all those & compare 2 roms A & B, and A happens to be faster then once TF3D & appz r running then some might hinder the performance & you come out with B as a winner.
Startup appz on most roms are essential & therefore they are needed for that rom & performance should be tested using each rom settings & configurations.
I can have a Vista setup that flies by disabling startup appz & services but to "use" that setup with all its glory, then many of these are required.
ps: just my opinion.
Thanks for the effort! Appreciate it!

there are 2 roms called surface atm, i suppose the slow one is the standard rom and the faster one is the cooked one?
Even that one is not as fast as i hoped though

You have a point... (although there are also many people who dón't use TF3D).
It takes too much time for me to test every ROM with and without TF3D, so I have to make a choice for future tests. I guess I'll test with TF3D because most of us do use it.
Perhaps if I find some extra time I will test some of the current ROMs again with startup and TF3D.
By the way could be that activating startup and TF3D doesn't make that much of a difference. I mean: yes, you do load a lot of extra's in memory but I guess there will be more then enough memory avialable for the tests. And these extra programs don't take that much of CPU capacity.
IBut that's just a guess, time to test and compare!
later...

Well first comparisation between bold and fully loaded ROM.
I took the Diamond Surface 6.1.1.16 NLD ROM and tested twice wíth and twice withóut startup programs and TF3D. All in all no much difference (about 1%) except for one graphics test, one file read and Arkaball.
Big differences in red.
Very strange: the VSBenchmark tool was faster when everything was loaded!!!
I think it shows again that these test are not very reliable in absolute sence, only in relative sence for comparisation between ROMs.
I see all these ROMs from Schaps around, what is the best / most stable out right now?
I did see that he had an updated interface but never heard what came out of that or if it was even released...
try 4.31 , work l...aka charm.
Note that these are very old...the master chef schaps has NOT cooked a hermes rom since around February!
Also, see the "Sticky: [Final] WM6.1 BENCHMARKS!" for the latest & greatest current chef dishes!

They are a bit out of date If anyone wants to submit data they are welcome! And it would be apperciated! (I have no phone to test with )
But, you can get the idea from past data on roms.
All the info on schap's new UI ect, but its not out yet
