Rom 1.31.00 Wwe? - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Hi, I would like to upgrade my device to WM6, but I want to be able to downgrade to my current ROM that I know works.
Where can I find this ROM to download?
If I can't get it, where can I get the tool to dump my own ROM (The link from the BlueAngel wiki is dead), and will it be easy to put it back on my XDA IIs?
Thanks,
RMSe17

happy new year!

German Qtek 9000 ROM available?

Hello!
The Qtek 9000 is sold in Germany with a ROM dated middle October 2005.
Is this ROM also available for download somewhere?
Unfortunately I couldn't find it yet...
I would like to try it on my MDA Pro!
Deal!
Hey,
I'm looging to change my Qtek german ROM to an English one.
I'm pretty sure we can find a deal in exchanging our ROMs!
But you need to tell me how to extract and how to reflash afterwards.
If interrested contact me.
The english ROM is here on xda-devs-FTP
But: please before flashing your OS upload the german ROM there!
This would be my very best xmas present
Cheers
Ok for your christmas present!
Hello Cendaryn,
I just need coaching or tutorial for extracting and then flashing the ROMs.
If someone tells me how to extract I will post for sure.
And I need also help to flash the english ROM.
Thank you
Well this is my biggest problem - I know how to flash the ROMs but not how to dump them. But I guess a little search in the forum here will help
Cheers
uni_cdl-me_11238_132_10301_ship.exe ) Is this the Qtek ROm? if its not please show me the direction.
Sorry
Sorry with no tutorial I can't help.
I'm really willing to post the german ROM. But haven't a clue where to start.
Does anybody know?
Thank you.
Dumping the ROM seems to be not easy
this is what I found: [Universal] How to d2s (dump) the ROM
I can't help you because I dont have a Universal (Qtek 9000) but I'm very interested in files of this ROM too!!!
Dumping the ROM seems to be not easy
Well, you say it.
If I look the post you mention I still have no idea where to start ???
I keep on seeking for complete tutorial.
By the way, does anybody know if changing the ROM is also changing the WM language? Or do I have to change separately?
Thank you.
A ROM also includes the WM language.
Maybe this topic helps:

Near to target ... but ...
Hi,
Thank you for the links, I feel I'm very close to dump the german ROM.
But not done so far.
And I'm becoming impatient because I found the ROM I want to put in place.
Keep on helping me end pray for I resist not to flash the original german ROM.
Arrgh!
I'm going mad to find how to backup original ROM.
Don't know if I will resist any longer to flash without backup.
Would You please try to run grab_it on your Universal?
This would give us a RAW-ROM-Image.
and i need a file dump (TestWM5) of a German ROM.
but you will need a Storage Card to do this.
German ROM needed ?
Hi all,
just reading through this thread here. I have an original VDA-IV with an unchanged ROM. I am trying to convince myself to upgrade to JasJar or O2, but did not do so yet. Any wish for a dump from me ?
(Have to leave now, but am able to do so tomorrow)

Idea
Maybe, we can have it a little easier, because I think, ROM dumping is very difficult and could also be hard to flash on other devices. For MDA compact (HTC Magician) for example, you had to edit the dumped ROM with a binary editor before it worked on other devices. Also, there often were problems with some SD card readers/writers, etc.
The best way would be getting a ROM update from the vendor (e.g Qtek) as a complete EXE-File. This could be flashed on other devices with the maupgrade_noid-Tool from xda developers FTP server.
So, it would be nice of you Qtek users, if you could write an e-mail to Qtek.ch!
They offer updates for Qtek users, but you need to mail your IMEI number. So MDA Pro users are not able to get Qtek updates this way.
I'll do this.. No problem..
Any other requests??

Reverting from New iMate ROM

Can someone help me please.
Like many I was anxiously waiting for the new ROM for my KJam because of A2DP. As soon as it was on the iMate site I flashed my device only to find out that it wasn't included.
Based on experience I figure it will be months before iMate do a new release, so I'm kinda stuck, or am I?
iMate say that I cannot go backwards after having loaded the new ROM, but I read in the forum that maybe it is possible. (I didn't have the foresight to backup my old ROM to SD though).
What I want to do now, if I can, is load up the test Qtek WWE Rom from the FTP site. The feedback there suggests it works well, so I am willing ot try it, if it means I will get A2DP.
Can anyone advise me how to do that (if I can).
Thanks all.
As far as I know you can reflash your rom with any rom. As long as it is divice compateable.
Im fairly new to this.
So find the one you want on this forum or the wiki and reflash the same way you did the last one.
I have run about 3 differnet ROMs on my UNI up to now. I find the latest imate rom very stable.
I have rolled back to the O2 rom currently as I want to play with the extended rom on the o2 rom and put it into the exetended rom on imate.
Again I forgot to back it up.

Can I go back?

I looked around and did not see a clear answer to the question of reverting/flashing back to WM5 if desired after flashing one of these WM6 ROMS.
Does anyone know where I can find the answer?
Thanks in advance.
I too have looked around but haven't asked for fear of being flamed. The gurus think that we should be able to pick up on all the lingo and have a clear understanding of what everything means.
I am looking for a way to go back to a shipped ROM from anything after flashing SPL 1.11 in case I need to warranty exchange my Cingular 8525. I have yet to figure out how to do it.

Yes. You can go back to WM5 from WM6. I have done it before with no problems. Your answer is once again yes!
I will not flame you but look harder.

...but just to let You know..
once You go black (2.5 ), You will never go back...
hi there
first of all, I am no expert in the ROM related knowledge, but i did go back to WM5 from WM6 recently. The reason I have gone back to WM5 it is because I am suspecting the Chinese viewer (CE-Star) that i used does not work good in any flavor of WM6, it causes frequent lock-ups in WM6 that makes my phone pretty much unusable.
Besides, i don't mind to share my experience for downgrading to WM5, the following is my up and down sequence.
1. upgrade from Dopod WM5 rom to WM6 cooked rom
2. upgrade to SPL 1.40
3. upgrade radio to 1.38.00.11
4. upgrade radio to 1.40.30.00
5. upgrade to SPL 2.10
6. downgrade SPL from 2.10 to 1.40
7. downgrade from WM5 Rom (It is some sort of HTC Standard WM5 Rom that my friend gave me, and my radio has gone back to 1.38.00.10 as the ROM comes with it.
8. upgrade to SPL 2.10
9. upgrade to Radio 1.40.30.00
Also, you may check out mrvanx's guide for downgrading to WM5 here.

actually... i'm on black 2.5 and thinking of going back... too many apps are wiggin out on wm6
I actually just did it. I was running the latest version of HardSPL, flashed to the new ATT ROM, and then created a updater to flash the SPL to the ATT spl.
Wasn't hard, and only took a few minutes. So, as of right now, my phone is running the new ATT ROM, and if I need to warranty it, I'm all set.
in the wiki it mentions..
If your vendor has released you original rom as a shipped upgrade, you just need to flash it.
If your vendor has not released any ROM upgrade yet, you cannot fall back to original ROM easily. You'll have to reconstruct the ROM out of a dumped ROM.

I'm using 838pro, what about the ROM which available to download from the dopod company website.
does it safe to just flash from it or do I need to repackage the ROM..?
thank you.

if you only want to read chinese, but not input, there is an alternative to it. look for a cab which is named 'sunglobe.ttf register patch'.
Maybe the easiest way
First thing I would want to do is to Flash the unit to what is known as a "Hard SPL". For some reason it makes all the other flash work go a lot more smoothly. You can get instructions and software for that at:
http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php...ask=view&id=40&Itemid=26&limit=1&limitstart=2
Once that is done, and it should take about 5-10 minutes depending upon the speed of your computer and USB connection, you can load whatever OS rom you desire.
You can get a carrier agreeable rom from the Cingular/ATT site:
http://www.htcamerica.net/support/8525/software-downloads.html
Or, and this should work, just link directly to the rob by clicking:
http://www.htcamerica.net/support/d...R_WWE_2.15.502.3_6275_1.40.30.00_108_Ship.exe
This should leave you at the latest and greatest of the WM5 packages from Cingular/ATT, and all should be well. And . . . if it hozes . . . which it should not, you should have no warrantee issues since you were trying to flash the upgrade that THEY were providing you. :-D

ROMs from Dopod HK or Singapore are very old ones. The SPL is 1.04. You may not be able to flash backward if you are with HardSPL v7. Also if your radio ROM is newer than 1.27, you may face problem when you flash the original (as it is packed with an old radio rom).
(Please correct me if I am wrong.)
To play safe, follow mrvanx' guide:

After some readings and I have managed to used dutty's tool to recompiled the Dopod's WM5 English rom from the original Dopod shipped rom.
This rom has OS + Extended Rom ONLY.
No IPL, No SPL, No Radio.
I have tested and it works on my Hermes, and Bootloader and Radio stay as is. Please note your result may vary.
Here's the download link
http://rapidshare.com/files/29500131/WM5_Dopod_1.30.707.4__Huchison_3_AU__OS_ExtRom_only.7z
To play safe, I would suggest you to do the following prior flashing the OS rom.
1. Flash boot loader to Hard-SPL-V7
2. Flash your radio rom to 1.38. or 1.40

Dumping ROM for later reflash?

Hello
I have an original ROM from my operator (Orange) with WM5. Unfortunately they have not yet put a ROM on their Website.
Now i want to test the WM6 ROM for Artemis, but: I want to be able to go back to my original ROM if needed.
So is there any possibility to dump the ROM (and Radio) anywhere, so that I can reflash it with it?
Is there any manual for that available?
Thanks
Sven
from experience
it will be a bit more complex to get back to wm5
once you get wm6, wm5 will looks 'ugly' for you
upgrade once you ready!

you can find it in the wiki xda developers just run a search

How to extract Stock ROM from My Compact IV

Hi all,
I am a new member on the forums and must say, thay have taught me a lot!
I have a T-Mobile MDA Compact IV running on stock ROM, radio and protocol.
I would like to ask you haow to extract these from my phone so that if i decide to install a custom rom and Hard SPL and then want to go back to the originals, (for warranty purposes) i can do so.
If anyone could kindly tell me how to do it. I will try and upload them to the forums so that other users can benefit from them if needed.
I have searched the forums for ages but can't find what i'm looking for. If there is anything i've missed, please direct me in the right direction
Many Thanks.
MDA Compact IV
ROM version: 1.37.110.3 WWE
ROM date: 20/06/08
Radio version: 1.00.25.03
Protocol version: 52.26a.25.09u
No need to backup
See this thread for original tmobile compact IV rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=406327
I have been through most of the popular 1.93 roms and must say that with some good tweaking and radio .05 the original Tmobile rom performs fine and after all these dark themes, the t-mobile interface has actually grown on me.
I am now running with the above rom which have flashed back countless times. Not sure why this rom is not listed in wiki or mentioned on the other rom lists in this forum.
Use Olipro's NBH utility to extract the OS nb. (reports:
DIAM20000
T-MOB005
1.37.110.3)
Thanks for the info
Hi,
Thanks for the info, but what app(s) should i use to do some "good tweaking" and where do i get the .05 radio?
I have exactly the same phone as you
I know i can use the TF3D app to change themes so if the rom and radio etc work fine i can just swith between the themes later.
If you could help, it would be much appreciated.
Cheers.
p.s. how do i use the rom from the link? It's an exe file.

Apps for tweaking: Diamond Tweak (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=409540) and Advance Config (http://www.touchxperience.com/en/advanced-configuration-tool.html)
Radio can be found here: http://www.duttythroy.net/index.php?option=com_jdownloads&Itemid=53&task=viewcategory&catid=5
Have fun
Edit: the exe file can be unpacked with winrar ...
Thank you so much for the help guys. I never knew that there were nice ppl out there willing to give a helping hand to a "noob"
just a quick question. Does it matter which radio i use in my phone or should i just use the latest one?
Thanks

OK Then! but...
Okie dokie. i have been on "http://modmydiamond.info/" before, just forgot that it has a mention of which radio was the most recommended. Thanks for the reminder mdajansen
I've downloaded the original tmobile compact IV rom and have seen that it is for a HTC Victor/Diamond. Is that still ok for my Compact IV? and will it bring my phone back to the original tmobile branding?
Thanks.
Yep
Yes, this will reset your Compact IV back to the original tmobile shipped rom including all the original branding etc.
I have done this multiple times (extracted os.nb and rebuild just an os.nbh), used hardspl 1.37 (developer edition)
ok then, thanks for that.
