Yes...hated it. It seemed slow and difficult to operate - not terribly intuitive. I believe it is also dependent on some sort of intermediary server rendering the pages into a format that the application can handle - that tends to suggest that the more demand there is on that server, the slower the response.
I didn't last much more than an hour with it so i wouldn't claim to be an expert, but there was nothing that got me hooked and plenty I didn't like.
Was a great idea, but has been exceeded by Opera mini 4, which does all the same and more.

You want the High Memory version. I usually download over the air via Pocket Internet Explorer.

I have a Dell Axim x51v running the Windows Mobile 6 A01 RTM ROM developed by football. This does not include software for Windows Update. Where can I get this or can someone post a download. What should I do?
I could be wrong, but I don't think windows update actually does anything yet. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.

Yeah, I was under the same impression as you. I believe it was one of those MS features that was an after-thought and was never really implemented.
also ms updates often takes forever and would prob use alot! of credit on peoples gprs acounts and if disconnected in the middle would prob require a hardreset and......
and support for older versions of the os cost money too

True, but as the original poster mentioned, they are using an X51v. So GPRS is not an issue with that PDA as the poster would probably be connecting via wireless-b.
But I could definitely see the issue about a dropped connection leading to a hard-reset.
I realize that getting it may not be for the best, but I noticed that some 3rd party ROM's have this. is there any way I can get it?

Why border w/ it as it doesn't do you any good? I rather have it remove and use the rom space for something else.
i never heard about anybody who got anything from starting the program
it dont connect or get anything from ms
so if you really want it
guess somebody could make a gui that looks like it
have the same name and icon and you would be set

Haha, that same concept (the "dummy gui" idea) could solve a lot of application problems around these forums!
Hallo!
Does anybody know anything on the the issue?
It is the software that "listens" to the music playing and via internet brings you the song title and the artist.
Is there any software or anything?
Thank you

However it seems that shazam is not compatible with X1 for the time being...
Unless "The application is designed to work with Java MIDP2 compatible phones" X1 has Java MIDP2?
Does anybody know that?

Yes, I know.
and also google knows:
Search Xperia Java MIDP2: http://developer.sonyericsson.com/s...ws/newsfeb08/p_new_xperia_x1_announcement.jsp
Search Java ME MIDP2: http://java.sun.com/products/midp/
And, the phone wouldn't explode if you try on your own
Please let us know, since the application you need is REALLY interesting... and cool
I use Q-Mobile_MusicID, and works pretty well. A bit slow thought, not like SE's TrackID. .
Edit: It seems it is the same Shazam app. . No harm done
Thank you both.
I ll do a little further searching(seems like I haven't done much) and report back.
@SMYRO: Do you use it on a X1?
Thank you!

ShapeWriter is a new type of Keyboard for Touchscreen devices it is very similar to Swype!
I added a link to the an ShapeWriter Android demo on YouTube!
It is the same on Windows Mobile but i didn't found a video!
It works very well for me and it is a fast way for texting on your
Phone!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBOyGp25sSg
Here is also a link to a Swype video which is not released right now.

It won't crash your phone... If you don't like it just uninstall it!
knight900 is absolutely right it works best with long text such as
emails, notes and SMS it very fast if you pratice a little! You
don't need to use your stylus, and you don't have to be very accurate!!
woooooow...... wtf. .... is it actually easy to use? cause from the vids it looks easy, but when its in ur hand seems like itll be complicated!??
Activation Code????
Why doesn't it work in Opera ? The activation code maybe?

It works also in Opera but it's not very useful for url input. You have just
press cancel when you are asked for the Activation i don't really know whats the handicap of the non activated version. If you need an activation key you have to buy it or look somewhere else! No Warez are alowed on XDA Dev!!
can some one post the screen print
this is a cool keyboard thank you ikkari
xcuse...but for the activation?

Links to a warez site isnt allowd either
It wasn't actually a real link ...
When I heard about Swype I was looking for something alike and stumbled upon this gem. It is by far the utmost brilliant keyboard for me yet. Thanks heaps for that.
Is there any chance of further development? I'd love to see this keyboard with german umlauts in order to make full use of it
Thanks again,
John
Hi,
I've been looking for a while now ... still nothing like Ultrasurf or Freegate for Windows Mobile.
I'm in China right now, nice Touch HD but no way to connect to these fancy youtube and facebook applications because as you may know, these sites are blocked in China.
On my PC no problem, Ultrasurf or Freegate do the job, what about PPc ?
Any ideas ?
Thanks
Maybe http://www.toonel.net/?
Same problem. On desktop I use TOR and Gladder plugin with Firefox. Both work well but choke on some of the 3rd party download sites. We really need similar for mobile even a simple proxy host. I'll take a look at that Toonel mentioned in the other reply and let you know. I have been seeking some solution for a long time. If you find another solution can you let me know? I am currently in Henan.
+1 here
I've been looking for the same thing for a long time..
I have once tried to use the HotSpot Shield iPhone solution, but it didn't seem to work with WM, besides it's also blocked now
any success guys ?
me to. I am in hubei. I know a browser called bolt can play youtube. But it plays it in a extremely low quality. I hope to find a way to set the system link to some proxy or VPN. I have tried many ways like 'ppcproxy','proxycap','hosts','toonel','openVPN ppc','gp_vpn-mobile',eh, it seems that's all. hehe ,crazy? But what a tragedy! I DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE THEM!!!! I can't get a full teaching on net. So, if it's convenient, I hope you can try them. And tell me how to use them. my email: [email protected]
I hate blocking blocking blocking!
+1 here.
isnt there any proxy client for wm ?
ASProxy
Ultrasurf can find at http://www.ultrareach.com/
freegate wm

Anyone installed this and got passed the disclaimer? It installed fine, but after scrolling down the disclaimer and trying to press the accept button it does not go down far enough. Any ideas?

I couldn't get passed that point, either. I would guess the Opera developers are concentrating on touch screens now and don't do much testing on standard devices anymore.
After trying for about 10 minutes to get passed that point, I gave up and deleted the program.
same problem here..
beta version..
bugs..
uninstall..
i dont have the link since im on my phone but one of the developers confirmed that windows mobile standard isnt compatible with the new beta. i would doubt if they ever do.
All Opera Mobile versions: Official thread
Here you´ll find all you need regarding Opera:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=486502
same issue here with the tmobile dash, can't click accept of disclaimer either. that thread is 50 pages long and doesn't say anything explicitly about Dash or Excalibur maybe its b/c of QVGA or something

Maybe they should say that on their download page because they indicate that it IS compatible. It just reinforces my negative opinion of Opera on all platforms.
im using it on my Dash, the only problem is that you need to download FakeCursor so you can accept. After that you made need to use FakeCursor again to goto settings and such, but other than that it works great!

Welcome to forums
If you have a closer look you´ll find several QVGA versions.
Also there are the newest Opera Mini versions, which I find fit better on Excalibur
Tried...it failed....could not click the accept button.....even retried

To me it just isn't worth the trouble to go through just to get it to work. Opera is a has-been by now. Firefox Mobile will be coming out in a bit, and right now UCWEB6 works great, as well as Skyfire. So there just isn't a need for Opera anymore.
