Why should I unlock my sim card? I have unlocked my phone, but why are people unlocking there sim card?
not sure
know that the company 3 lock their sim cards
so they only worked in 3g phones and not 2g phones
maybe that could be a reason

i have a friend that is on rogers. if the phone gets unlocked , does that mean it will pick up signals from another carriers tower ? or is unlocking only so you can switch companies and keep the sam phone ?
unlocking just means that you can use other carriers sim cards, the phone will only get signal from the carrier of the sim card you have in

Has anyone had problems with LTE tab s 8.4" sim card ?
the signal bars all the time are full as if there is sim card in the device. i tried inserting two nano sim cards with micro adapter it immediately asks to restart as Sim card detected..
I place sim card, restart and NOTHING !
same full bar signal all the sim with/without sim. Still says no sim card inserted.
Device from singapore.
Now i know 8.4 LTE tab S is 3g/4g sim card compatible and sim cards work perfectly otherwise. i reset factory settings with no results !
going to mobile networks trying to chose networks also gives error of no network available.

what is the difference in Sim Cards for T705 Tab S ?????????????
it turned out to be the sim itself needed to be renewd to be enabled. thank you for the help.
I have been using search/Google to look for these answers, but I am seeing conflicting information. Can anyone help?
I purchased a T-Mobile Note 3 that had previously been activated on the T-Mobile network. The phone is clean and can be activated. I am going to be placing it on the AT&T network (Cricket actually). I have the SIM Unlock code. I do not intend to use the phone internationally.
I do not have :
My Cricket SIM. I am in the process of changing from Page Plus to Cricket, so my number has not been transferred yet.
An active T-Mobile SIM.
I DO have some random, currently inactive SIM card from Sprint (I know this phone wont work on Sprint, I dont want it on Sprint, its just what I have at hand).
When I place the random Sprint SIM in the phone I am prompted for the unlock code. I have not attempted to enter the code, just wanted to see if it would generate the promp.
Since this phone was previously activated on T-Mobile, do I need to put a currently good T-Mobile SIM card in it to get the unlock code to work properly?
If so, can I buy a BYOD T-Mobile SIM card from Target, leave it inactivated, and use that to unlock?
Can I use an unactivated Cricket SIM to generate the Unlock message and unlock it from there?
What will the behavior be if I unlock it using the Sprint SIM?
I have been using the search to get an answer to this question, but there seem to be some conflicting reports here.
If the sim card is other than t-mobile, you will get unlock prompt. You can enter the unlock code but if you use cdma sim cards mostly you will not get signal. I am not sure if the t-mobile note 3 is cdma compatible. But sprint note 3 has both cdma and gsm.
No, you don't need a T-Mobile Sim, active or otherwise.
Since the phone is a native T-Mobile phone and you wish to UNLOCK it, simply place a Sim card from any carrier (active or not) into the phone and boot it up. As you have discovered it will prompt for an unlock code. Enter the code you paid for and you're done, that's it.
Once you receive the cricket Sim you can simply insert it and continue to use the phone.
For the above please make sure the phone is completely stock, otherwise issues will arise
What is the sim card in the back for? I didn't think sprint used sim cards.
Sprint uses it for LTE.
You can also call Sprint and have your phone internationally unlocked. You can then use a foreign sim card.
hey guys I am looking to purchase a note ten plus and was wondering if the dual sim feature would work with two different carriers, both carriers are on gsm networks.
Yes it will.
Just make sure it's unlocked and not from a ISP/services provider.
If it comes from a Telco (vodafone/O2 and other) they are software restricted to 1 SIM. You can reflash with an unlocked software (general 975F firmware and it would unlock SIM management but the telco would or should have the 2nd SIM locked.
AFAIK there isn't a sensible way to unlock a 2nd SIM for an officially single SIM device, though it Should be possible.
