Hi. I have a verry disturbing problem with my Hermes and I hope to find a solution in here.
From time to time, my calendar stop working. In "agenda" mode I can't shift days (no mather which day I select, it shows only the curent day). In other modes (like "day", "month" , "year"), I can select other days, but I can't add other appointments. He let me acces the menu, to add the data, and tipe of the appointment, but he don't save the changes I made.
I can solve the problem by clearing storage, and restoring the OS.
I'm using WM6 provided by HTC as update from WM5; HTC home plug-in with tabsetings; HTC Task Manager 2.0.30487.2 ; Kaiser 10 button CommManager ; Kaiser 3G Dialer and PCMkeyboard.
Any solutions ? Thanks !
I had the same issue to. I found its the HTC task manager 2. If you set it to close the program when you press the X button it never saves anything in calendar.
I found it the easiest thing was to remove the task manager and re-install HTC Xbutton 1.5 or you can add calendar to the exclusions list or set it to only close when X button is pressed and held.
Help that helps
Yes, it works. I've try to install and reinstall each software I use, to find the buggy one, but I didn't try, until now, with the task manager provided by HTC.
Thanks allot man.

I use BB 3.7 ROM, and HTC PhonePad included in it sometimes automatically switches to vibrations (from basic "ringing" profile). Is this a know error and is fix available? Thank you.
I have the same thing in v4.0.... I thought I was crazy or something pushed a button... but looks like a bug...
there is a fix, search for schen tab settings cab and remove the ring profile tab from the HTC home plugin in the registry.
Running v4 of BB from TOM and it hasnt happened since I used the schen cab!
Was running ATT WM5 and all was well. Flashed to Offical ATT WM6 using SPL2.1. Now I'm at ROM 3.62.502.3 1.54.07.00 32.86u.7020.23H. At this point, still ok. Installed PPTFix to remap button 5 to Voice Speed Dial and setup Plantronics head set. Still ok. Added some email accounts and a customized background. All ok. Synced Contacts, Notes, etc. Still ok. Decided I didn't like the Comm and Battery Icons on the bottom tray and ran MobileRegistryEditor and changed values from 1 to 0. Still ok the rest of afternoon and last night.
Got up this morning, did a soft reset, and everything went to hell. Booted normally up to the green Windows screen, then hung there for 3 or 4 minutes. Finally got to the Today screen, but all apps run like honey on a cold morning. I can use VoiceCommand to place calls and I can Dial out Manually, but if I tap my contacts button, no contacts show up. Email won't send/receive, but I can get incoming calls. Today screen shows correct appointments and task, but tap Calandar and they don't show up there.
Before I do anything else, I wanted to get some ideas on where to start.
Pretty sure hiding the comm manager was your problem
I'm pretty sure hiding the comm manager icon was your problem, I've heard there are numerous problems when you hide the comm manager icon. Change that key back and see if your problems go away.
KarhU said on the ROM benchmark :
6. Never hide the WirelessManager Tray Icon at the bottom.
Don't believe me?
Try it and feel the difference.
This is the key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\WirelessMgr]
"Keep"=dword:00000000 ;<--- (dword:00000000 to hide and dword:00000001 to show)
Yeah, I've seen this issue in many of the recent WM6 ROM Threads. It's a true shame, since it means we're stuck with having to keep the bottom tray visible. I (for one) do not like that waste of screen space.
Too bad the fix for this anomaly is so elusive.

Thanks for the help. It looks like the Comm Mgr icon may have been the problem. My 8525 wouldn't connect to the Internet, Email or (thru Active Sync) to my desktop. Finally went into Settings/System/Clear Storage and it completely reloaded WM6. Reinstalled all my extra apps and things are fine. Of course I haven't tried to edit the registry and get rid of those bottom icons, and I don't think I'm going to. If anyone finds a sure method to get rid of the bottom system tray, please post.
Hi,
I've noticed that HTC Task Manager causes strange problem - after closing any application (Total Commander, Pocket Informant...) with close button - first tap doesn't work. For example - first tap on Calendar, SP Phone Suit or any other program icon does nothing, second - everything backs to normal...
After turning Task Manager off - problem disappeared.
Just in case if somebody will have the same problem (maybe anybody noticed that?).
Upon installing HTC task manager and selecting an option "close app when click x" am unable to change the contact details. If i use 'end programs by tapping and holding X', contacts can be changed... has anyone faced this prob.. is there any solution
any clue??
Have anyone noticed, that after closing a program it disappears from task manager, but stays running in the background?
I mean, when I start opera it's in the task manager, and when I close it, it dissapears, but the memory consumption stays the same, and after restarting opera it continues where I have left it (like I was browsing some page, and it opens directly with that page) - So it wasn't closed at all!
Another program called Tracky offroad navigation. When I clicked on the X on the upper right corner, it disappeared from the task manager, however right after this I tried to remove tracky (settings->remove programs) and it asked me first: Do you want to quit Tracky?
So It did not close it either.
Have anyone else noticed this?
yups, i am having the same problem too with opera. it's still running although it no longer appears in the task manager
Noone else, just two of us?
That's strange. How will we find a solution then? :\
Same thing here with opera. For opera, I assume it could be because they have integrated it into touchflo3d and they will probably start it in the background to download your favourite sites, so HTC might have modified it to hide it from the task manager (or they modified the task manager)... Until now i have not found a second program showing this behaviour...
I have been playing around with the registries and it seems there are some registry settings that you can change to prevent that
HKCU\Software\HTC\TaskManager\ExclusiveList\System
If you look into the above folder, you can find a list of apps that will run under exclusive, meaning they will not show up in the normal task manager. You will notice Opera9.exe is in there. If you remove the entry, you can now see Opera9.exe in the task list. But it still doesn't seem to terminate the process when you exit Opera. To do that you need to go to
HKCU\Software\HTC\TaskManager\TerminateProcess
Add a DWORD key (Opera9.exe) and set the value to 1. Now when you exit Opera, the process will be terminated and memory returned.
This works for me.
Hey,
thx for the info!

Click to collapse
Still a problem...
For me, its G-alarm and Pocket Player... when i close either program, the music (or alarm) continues to play in the background, and neither program shows up in the task manager, and often i can't open the program back up again after that. I usually have to soft reset my phone to stop the alarm. (the reason I closed the alarm that way is that some landscape or rotation problem made it so i couldn't hit the off button and noticed that the alarm kept going) I'm also using the T-mobile stock rom. Neither of those programs show up in the registry however, so i'm lost as to what to do. Note of course if i do close hte programs properly they do turn off, but sometimes I hit the X button and they don't close properly or crash.
Thanks!
