Hi all,
I have bought HTC Touch p3450, and I wanted to transfer all my contacts from my old Nokai N-Gage Classic Phone. I exported all my contacts by using backup contacts software for Symbian to a .VCF file. This VCF File has all my contacts, but when I am trying to import it to outlook it only imports the first contact.
I have seen some shareware software who can do the trick, like VSync or VCard etc. which imports only 5 contacts for all it requires registration Do you have any freeware alternative for VSync? or is there a different way I could use?
Thanks....
I would like to bump this thread, as I have a similar requirement.
Google Mail contacts can be exported into a single .vcf file, and if there is an app that allows import of multiple entries into Windows Mobile Contacts, that would be super useful and would avoid the need of messing around with CSV files of any sort.
Also, Google exports then as v3.0 vcards - does pocket outlook support his version ?
adrield, if you open your vcf with a text editor, what does it show for VERSION: within each vcard ?
Cheers,
nwpsys

I have many contacts of the MSN and is difficult to move by the agenda.
Excuse me for my English
hi
i had to manually delete all my msn contacts from my hotmail acct do not have them synced into my address book on ppc.. its one of the most ridiculous features of live messenger! is there an easy way to NOT have them shown in the address book ?????
I'd also like to know if we have a "trick" to remove those contacts from the smartphone's contact directory *without* deleting them from Homtail's contact list.
Thanks

I have come to realize that I probably will have to live with it as is. This new version gives you the option to consolidate your phone contacts with the messenger contacts and boy did I hate the duplicates in the older version. Maybe the next version will give us a chance to keep them out of the contacts list.
If i have a file with my contacts that is a .xls document is there anyway to convert those to actual contacts on my phone? Tried to search and didnt really find anything. Thanks
Depending on the format used in the .xls, you can import it into outlook. I don't have outlook installed anymore to give you directions, but it is there under import/export option. But, the excel file would have to be formated correctly. You could always enter some contacts into outlook, export to .xls to see how it is setup and then modify your current .xls to match.

Do you have outlook? If so you can convert your xls sheet to CSV and import it into outlook.

I have a corporate winPC running Outlook 2007. Just had my local ADMIN right removed which killed my Active-Sync. Policy prohibts active-sync..
I can export both my calander and contacts to deliminted files, but I need a utility that I can run on my TP2 WM6.5 that will allow me to import the data.
Is there an "app" for this (LOL).
Seriously, does anyone know of a utility that will import delimited files into WM.
Many Thanks

According to THIS website, you can use PIM Backup (a popular app here at xda) to import csv files into your phone contacts. Instructions at that link.
Hello Friends,
I recently exported some contacts from my old windows mobile phone into a vcard since this is what Google Suggests
So I imported the vcard file into Gmail, and somehow it's
it's put all the contact information into the note field. Perhaps it did this because perhaps at one time I had duplicates of them all and it merged the contact information?
Well all the contact fields are blank except the note field which looks like this
CreationTime: 7/15/2010 10:43:53 AM
FileAs: John, Doe
Importance: 1
LastModificationTime: 7/15/2010 10:44:12 AM
MobileTelephoneNumber: +15555555555
ReminderTime: 1/1/4501 12:00:00 AM
SelectedMailingAddress: 2
Size: 1576
Subject: John Doe
So the problem is when I sync up my contacts with my Evo only the names are listed because theres no phone number in the phone number field it's just in the notes field. And so when I compose a new text message and search for a contact none pull up. I can go into "people" and see the names but yea thats about it.
Please help I haven't searched diligently and I haven't found any solution to this problem.
Any thoughts or ideas on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
CipherFX
Never seen a recommendation to use a Vcard. I exported to a CSV, and everything imported perfectly.
You should import a csv file to gmail, that should def.ly do it for you.

+1 to everyone else here. I used csv as well and had little problems. I already had some contacts in gmail and had dupes, but gmail also has an option to remove dupes for you.
Does know any App, software, tool or suggestion on Converting Outlook Notes to Android Memos?
in the worse case scenario, i'll have to manually copy and paste them over, i don't have that many.
Not as I know off.it need to support naively by the email client I think.

Does EverNote Desktop support importing? if so use that
Anybody else found a solution for this?
the next closest thing i found was using Note Everything
very similar to WM notes, as you can enter Drawings, Voice Recordings, Text notes, etc.
only problem is that it can only import .csv files from Outlook Notes export, and those Drawings notes from Outlook notes wont get exported/imported properly.
copy paste
I cut and pasted 35 notes into catch.com today
then sync'd it with the Android app.
Pretty basic, attach photos, private or share.
Cons: no formatting, no audio.
seems pretty good @ the best price .. free.
using win7, no active sync, I don't use outlook.
I'm using gSyncit to sync Outlook to my google account. This tool syncs Outlook notes to Google Documents.
Then i can view&edit these docs with gDocs (Android app).
