i went to a cervice center in my city because my i mate jasjam have an issue that the screen is white and the keypad not working. they told me that my device is out of warranty since it has "illegal software" ( another windows not the official ).
i was wondering if the cause of the problem is the software not a harduare problem as they assumed
so the question is have any one who only use official roms had the same issue :the white screen and not working bottuns??
if any one please tell me

firstly do a search for hermes white screen with the google xda-devs search... but anyways we all do it..
but... i had this problem, and i also had a random problem of the bttom 5 piselx of the screen got moved to the top.. made it look extremely weird.. but after several flashes, it was still there, then i flashed schaps 4.01 again [it was the rom i had when it all started] and now its fine [touches wood]
but it could be hardware..
[edit]like myv6mustang said, flash to the htc rom.. i did this and the orange wm5 rom supplied with it, amongst about 4 other roms, and after that it worked, no way of knowing which fixed it, but id guess htc's[/edit]

I been flashing mine on a weekly basis with no problem. Next time you may also want to flash the original rom back before you take it in. I have turned in 3 phones for different issues and i always flashed back and havent had a prob

which is the same problem that you have? or simply all of them?
If the warranty has only been void due to you having another ROM on it, look up MR VANX page and roll back your rom to original and give it another shot.

I have white screen some time and the keypad it's not working and some time the screen from the top give me 5 pixel from down , i try to reflash with oregnal rom and with tnt rom,nothing happen. so please if any onw can help coz there no agency where i live,my divace is i-mate jasjam, thanks all.

I'm working in china and one day i lost my thelephone, so i decided to buy a PDA HTC P3300.But only after some day i saw that some thing was not working, so i'm tring to downgrade a new rom.
Here i had my problem, i followed all the details that i found on internet, also i took some informations and file from this forum to coplete the procedure like Hard SPL and so on, the problem is that when activesync is connected to the device i launch for example Hard SPL to upgrade it but after the program showed me the version installated and i said upgrade, i waited for a while and then the progam told me to check the usb connection (i tried whit 3 different cable) ERROR 260.The same thing happened when i tried to change the ROM.

Hard Spl??? For the Artmes?? Mate are you trying to brick your device cause it seems you are doing a pretty good job of it too,Hard Spl is NOT for the p3300 it is for the Hermes and Trinity which are two very very different models of HTC. Please make an effort to read the Wiki before you start messing with the phone.Try flashing the t-mobile stock rom FOR THE ARTEMIS(WITHOUT THE HARD SPL) and hopefully it may work also find out from your buyer if it is CID unlocked though i doubt wether they would know.
Check in Settings - Connections - USB to PC that the USB advanced network functionality is not ticked. That's caught me out in the past after making changes.
This is assuming that others in this forum are correct and you've not yet made a brick using the wrong model. Good luck!

wich is not downloadable form that page. (AM I RIGHT?)

Did you buy it in China?
If you bought the phone in China, there will be 2 versions. 1 for the chinese market (han huo) and the others are for other markets (usually europe) then flashed with the chinese rom (shui huo). As far as I know the chinese versions aren't locked and the foreign market versions musn't be locked either due to the fact that they have to put on the chinese rom
Hey fellas, I really need some help/instructions here. I know theres a thread on this , several , but I've posted for help and there so jumbled up now it's went unanswered. I want to put a Wm6.1 rom on my Alltel Vogue. The main feature I'm looking for is The new PIE (with the zoom feature) , and very few if any bugs in it. My problem is with the "imcokeman Vogue unlocker".... I've tried to run the one found on ppcgeeks.com, the one it says to use for gps roms, and the one for non gps, but have the same problem everytime. When I get to the step where it says to unplug , then replug the phone, when i replug, i cant get active sync to connect. Can someone please help. And also , please, please, point me towards a good rom to use. I would like to be able to choose a couple of things that goes on there, but Im not sure how to use a kitchen , where to find one of if thats what its even for. Im really new to this rom stuff. So please help guys. Hopefully I'm allowed a noob/idiot moment and get help instead of laughed at.... Thanks in Advance...
If I'm not mistaken, you can simply flash the new Altel update ... do a search it's there ... it's an approved vendor rom and I don't think you need an unlocker ... plus your warantee would still be intack

Please help me getting a ROM for my HTC Touch Diamond i bought it on eBay. I checked with HTC people they said my phone is US based. I downloaded the new realeased ROM from HTC Website however when i am updating, it goes till 1% and says "invalid model id". I have some stupid Dutty's rom on my phone i want the original HTC rom. Please help me getting this.

Sorry imatrix but didnt mean it. I am so frustrated with the duttys version, it doesnt allow me to do anything with my phone. Gets hang everytime, weather doesnt work. ha when I got my first HTC it had Duttys on it as well and i didn't know about ROMs and flashing... I then put an original to learn from the beginning and when i knew my way around winMo I put Duttys back his ROMs were great, not the best for me personally, but great overall

Hi, seeing how you have dutys rom on your phone, its safe to day you have HardSPL on your phone, but before you start flashing other stuff, check in here, press VOLUME DOWN + RESET and it will take you into the bootloader, when you are in there it should say which HardSPL you have, and also which version of the diamond you have india or US but doesnt matter really, after you check your bootloader and what not and your diamond version which should be DIAM110 you can go here http://www.htc.com/www/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=133&cat=2&dl_id=483 and enter your SN behind the batter pack to download HTC stock diamond rom.

check the sticky for the unbricking your phone thread and also the hard reset bootloader thread. they should allow you to unbrick and reflash your phone. upgrade to ookba's 6.5 and you'll encounter less problems. im guessing your phone wasn't unlocked to apps since you're just hitting WM6 standard. you might wanna do that next time and prevent this problem again

Sure I want, what do you recommend??? I will eventually need to have some Arabic support thought!
I bought it over Ebay with WM5, but got it upgraded to WM6 (still BT, and yes it looks stupid )
one your phone is properly unlocked for apps and you are settled in with a rom that works well for you, installing arabic support shouldn't be a problem. just make sure the Arabic support program you install will work with the rom you choose. search the forums and find all the info on the roms and find one that will suit you best. don't be scared to ask questions.. but diving head first without all the research can be sketchy. really really sketchy

Well, after being without one for almost 5 years ... I have bought a second hand HTC Universal, mine to be specific is the O2 XDA Exec.
Being as it was second hand all I got was the handset and USB cable, no discs, box ... nothing! I am really trying to down-grade the ROM on it. It currently has WM6.5 .. and from what I can tell it is defo a cooked ROM from somewhere. I want to down grade to WM5 so it is faster and I dont need any of this fancy stuff as I will be using it for home automation.
I have done ROM upgrading before on my old HTC Touch HD ... so can anyone point me in the right direction please

I have done the task 28 55aa and from what I can tell, it did what it was meant to. I cant seem to upgrade any roms tho, I have downloaded 5 so far and all have failed saying it cannot find RAPI.dll ... can anyone help me please?

OK, I bought this of eBay and it came with a really bad home cooked Rom that was really slow and laggy. I wanted to downgrade it down to WM5 again so I picked a ROM of here and set about updating. At this point I need to mention this, I cant remember the name of the rom BUT I DO NOT BLAME the cooker of the rom, any rom cookers or xda developers for the problems I now have ... i did this fully knowing i am doing it at my own risk!
So, I didnt do alot off research and found out later that you need a special driver to flash in windows 7. Since trying to flash my HTC it has been stuck in boot loader. I have tried the task 28 55aa, tried upgrading just the radios and just the roms. Hard reset .. all that I can think and no luck at all.
Some of the roms come wtih "MaUpgradeUt_noID" this works, but the "ROMUpgradeUt" doesnt as it says the RAPI.dll file is missing.
Please can someone help me!

For all those who want to know, I had to upgrade my ROM on a windows XP machines ... luckily work surprisingly allowed me to do it!!
