Hello,
I use MMSLite for MMSs (in Japan with Softbank). This program, when you install it, creates a 3G connection for send/download messages, named "MMS".
I need to edit and/or remove it. But this connection is not shown in "Settings\Connections\Manage existing connections", so I can't edit this connection. Is possible to "unhide" this connection and/or delete it?
Thanks!

No idea about this?
i have same issue. Any idea anyone?
So you're saying that you want to uninstal MMS Lite? How did you install it?
As far as I know, you can't Edit it in anyway because you need the 3G connection to get the MMS messages. Otherwise, you won't be able to recieve them.
Not sure what you want to do exactly! Please explain more
I gues he'd like to get the MMS through the internet connetion
Don't think thats possible. But he should look for "Larsuck" I think he knows more about MMSLite than most people around here.

Hello :
Im trying to do a cab file with my Operator configs for mms and gprs !
Can you post yours here that work with WM6 ? I will try to change to Portuguese TMN operator !

If you do a search on Cingular setting you will get this thread

Also i am interested to this project...
I've looked inside the cab... but it says WAP settings.
I (we) want to backup operator GPRS INTERNET settings & MMS settings.
Are all those regkeys assigned to this settings?
So we have to backup
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Comm\RasBook\
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Destinations
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers
and its related subkeys after setup the connections?

The above are correct but if you also want MMS settings then you will also need
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1

There's some website. that some member linked to this week. it was htc freak or htc fourms htc, and something with an F and it had a lot of carriers customizations.
Not that that helps...but you know
I'm having an awful time getting my MMS settings to work in WM6. I've followed all the documentation on Cingular's site and I'm 99% sure I have everything correct.
I get a message saying that it needs to disconnect from my current connection to send/receive mms messages and asks if it wants to proceed. This is bad because I must recieve MMS messages no matter what, like I used to be able to in WM5, to get pages from work.
Not to mention, even if I answer Yes, the messages don't seem to come through. It's also random, I can get MMS messages, just not all the time. So the settings seem to be right. =(
if you have any of the original cabs you can extract the XML files out them and make 1 XML and use wince cab manager and import the xml to provision all of the settings, however if you do that make sure you remove the lines that state "WAP PROVISIONG DOC" wince does not like that line.
Is there a repository of Operator GPRS/MMS Settings cabs anywhere on the net?
I think it would be great if xda had one since we all put new roms on our phones like we change socks.
I would like to have ones for T-mobile US and Rogers Canada (you don't even want to know why I have a phone for there).
Thanks

the xml is located inside the cab and from what i have seen its always named "CM_Entries.xml" there is almost always another file inside that you will want to check out to see if there are registry entries being changed its called "Platformxxx.reg"
Here is a screenshot of the shortstring keypad cab to show you what i am talking about.

Yeah, that thing is really annoying.
Try changing your MMS settings. From "Work" to "internet" or such.
See this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1172421#post1172421
and the posts I referred to in it.
Let me know if you'll find the solution.
A very strange thing has happened.
I noticed today that all things MMS have disapeared from my phone.
When i go into messaging all it has is TXT messages and Outlook E-Email.
Where did my MMS stuff go you ask... good question.
I know it was there after i flashed my rom, but i dont' konw how long it has been missing for now. I only found out today as someone tried to send me an MMS.
All the cab files I can find seem to only be for inputing the settings, which is kind of useless given that fact that I can't see any MMS stuff.
Have i just overlooked something is there a setting that will just turn my MMS back on.
MMMMMMMM could it be that simple.
Thanks for the help.
Did you NOT try to back up with SKTools?
Same here, no more MMS entries in the messaging app??
I don't use MMS so frequent, so I didn't notice it until I checked now
So, it's not a real problem for me, just wanted to report it.
I'm running a german rom, cooked with the rom kitchen by bepe.

I am running BE 2.0 with Optus and MMS is working fine. Did you use Walshieau operator settings cab? It has the Optus settings. You may need to edit the MMS server settings so check them after you have run the cab.
Guys we are getting off topic.
This post is NOT about MMS settings or Send/Receive problems there are stacks of threads that talk about that. Please go and post there.
This topic is about missing the MMS module all togeather.

I do have a full backup of the Phone with SBP but it was done after the MMS module disapeared, so probably no good.
Is there anyone that might be able to shed some light on this problem.

That being said
Sorry to be a pain..
Does anyone have any idea how to get back my missing MMS module.
I would like to avoid having to hard reset my device if i could.
Thanks again.
Travis
yeah u get that. tings r tuff all round. it happens.
try any one or more of the following
reinstall your cab file.
try to add a new from scratch and input it all from start.
hard reset ur device n rebuild
search for the create link cab file and it might re establish
restore from a previous backup
one of these will definitely fix it. suggest to prevent future occurances
be gentle to ur device
stroke it regularly
give it some gentle words occassionally
dont drop your device
dont get it wet
dont yell at it
buy it flowers occassionally
oooohhhh and yeah use backup software so you can just restore the system and move on without wasting peoples time whinging complaing and moaning over minor infrequent and incidental stuff

I can't add a new one because i can't access the MMS settings as it is completely missing.
Other options are a last resort.

Hi,
First of all, I am terribly sorry if this has been answered previously by anyone. I have read through a ton of articles on different boards unsuccessfully trying to find the solution.
I am running the AX3L_WM6_WWE_v2.0.8.1 release on my trinity and after two days use I am very happy with it. However there is one problem that is getting on my nerves. MMS.
Whenever I want to send an MMS i get a warning saying:
"In order to send/download MM messages, the current active connection may be closed (this may affect other applications in use). Do you want to continue ?
This message keeps appearing and appearing untill I select menu -> yes.
The same thing happens whenevers someone tries to send me an MMS.
So I can both send and recieve, but this warning message is killing me..
In my MMS settings messages are set to automatically download.
I cant really understand the warning cause the phone automatically shifts between different connections when shifting from wap to tv-streamiing for instance.
So, does anyone know how to end this misery?
Kind Regards
Tommy
I can also add that the stupid warning keeps popping up whenever i open any messaging account (work, gmail, sms, mms) regardless if I have any MMS in the outbox or any inbound mms.
For example: I recieve an sms and click on the link to open up messaging to read it and perhaps reply, immediately I get the stupid MMS message.

change the setting to use the internet connection in your MMS I had that problem and it's great now..
Hope this help
Okay, I think I know what you mean, however it did not work, this is what i did:
MY ISP connection is a direct connection to the internet with an APN (internet.ventelo.no) and no password / user or any other setting, works great for web and every other program that requires the internet.
Under Connections - Advanced - Select Networks I have created an mms account with another apn (mms.ventelo.no) and added Ventelo's username and password for mms. This is the account that is linked to in the messaging settings.
I then went in to the messaging settings / servers and changed the "Connect Via" to "My ISP" (internet.ventelo.no) instead of using the mms account descrived above.
The result is that I cannot send or receive MMS anymore, and probably because the APN for internet-traffic and mms-traffic are different.
Any other suggestions ?
I use the same rom as you and I'm experiencing the same problem with that annoying mms pop-up...
I'm still investigating how to avoid that... For me it only happens when I connect to my PC through Activesync.
Have you discovered a solution yet?
Regards,
Rayan
I am using push mail (mail2web) and it works great, but
as our MMS and SMS service cost exactly the same I tend to
send/receive mostly MMS'.
Problem is that every time I want to send or receive an MMS, a
popup informs me that the current internet connection needs to be
closed before the MMS connection can be made. I then have to open this
message and choose 'yes' to continue. Now this is getting very annoying
if you receive a lot of messages a day and you have to 'Manually' confirm
each one. After sending/receiving the MMS connection is automatically closed
and my 'internet' connection is automatically started again.
So my question is are there a way to remove the popup message.
After sending/receiving the 'MMS' conn. is closed and the 'internet' conn. starts up just fine without any input from me,so I only want the phone to automatically kill the 'internet' conn. without the "Please press 'yes' or 'no'" message.
Thanx...

Thanx, but the problem is not that simple. Other then the fact that it does not
work that way (for MY serv.prov.), even if I could do it,
I DON'T WANT to, because:
Data received through 'mms.conn.' is FREE, <------------------------- (important)
Data received through 'internet.conn.' is NOT FREE.
I already pay my service provider for using the MMS service and as I get
a LOT of MMS msgs. (mostly photos) every day, I am just not willing to
waste my hard earned cash that way.( ie: Paying DOUBLE for the same service. )

I receive a HUGE amount of MMS's every day.

...... RECEIVING MMS on the 'INTERNET.CONN' is NOT FREE.........
I ONLY want to get rid of the pop-up that asks for confirmation to kill
the 'internet.conn' and noth..... Aaaaagh, JUST LEAVE IT...
PS:
Sorry to everyone, I am not in the best of moods today... This is a great forum and I am grateful for all replies...

I am not very comfortable with the the great 'MortScript' yet AND
I am absolutely sure this confirmation pop-up can be killed with a simple
'Reg-hack', but I can't find it.

something, a screenshot maybe, please join in. I am sure I am not
the only person using MMS.

Here you go...
Only Before Sending/Receiving MMS = Pop-Up (Yes/No)
After MMS has been sent/received the 'mms.conn' disconnects AUTOMATICALLY,
then my 'internet.conn' again connects AUTOMATICALLY and my
push mail (mail2web) syncs. and everything works fine, until I get
the next MMS.
Im looking into it..
Maybe try turning off the "display message on screen" in sounds and notifications, for the two connection ones..
Ill keep hunting
Edit: Maybe you didn't quite understand what zocster and mrvanx where suggesting.. that is, set your push email to use the MMS connection as well..
Hmm... I understand the simple question, i think it's unavoidable since MMS access point and GPRS/Interneet access point is always different for all operator. And the PDA is set to warn you whenever it switch accesspoint, to avoid unconfirmed dropped connection.
For now 2 options i can see:
1. Suppress the notifications automatically to not bother you (mortscript can do this i think, never tried though)
2. Shorthen the "window of conflict" time period. Maybe by prolong your pushmail checking schedules, so it will not too real-time

Yes, you definitely understand the question.
Your option 1. is exactly what I am looking for, to suppress the
notification for switching of 'internet con.' access point automatically.
As I said before, the 'MMS con.' closes itself automatically after
sending/receiving, after that the 'internet con.' connects again
automatically.
Because the 'MMS con.' closes itself automatically, I was hoping
to find a reg.key to disable this confirmation for closing 'internet con.' only.
EDIT: Sorry, double post.
(Slow internet connection and a happy trigger-finger)
Hi DexterH,
have you found a solution? I have exactly the same problem. Since the connection to the internet APN is up, it asks me for the MMS connection. When I miss this notification, I miss the mms.
Please post your solution if you found one...
So I'm new to this whole scene and I've probably got a few idiotic questions.
I bought a Touch Pro 2 locked to T-mobile and unlocked it. I changed the settings so I can operate on AT&T's Edge network.
First, would flashing a ROM be a bad idea since I'm using one provider's phone on another's network? Would it just make it more complicated to do things?
And also, I don't know if anyone here can answer this question, but I tweaked my registry settings so I could add my own MMS setup (to be able to send and receive MMS through AT&T's network) but I can only receive them, not send them. When I go to send an MMS I get the progress popup and it goes up to 99% and then disappears and the message just sits in my Outbox, retrying over and over again.
Thanks for reading! And thanks in advance for any help anyone could offer a noob!

ROM flashing - as long as it's a ROM for the GSM Rhodium/TP2/Tilt2, you're fine!
There are many tweaks that adjust MMS settings for AT&T's network.
Here's one and another.
Good luck!
Thanks!
How do I import the .reg file? I have Registry Editor installed on my TP2 but the "Import" selection in the menu is grayed out, and when I find the .reg file in File Explorer it says there's no program associated with .reg files
Thanks and apologies!
[edit] Nevermind! I figured it out, but the software my TP2 uses is Arcsoft anyway, not Jataayu. I found the registry key in the registry for Arcsoft, but the only thing I could find was that the max mms size is set to 1mb instead of 300k, I changed that and it still doesn't work. Any ideas?

Sorry, but I don't really send/receive MMS (I guess I'm pretty low-tech after all!) with my TP2, so I'm afraid I can't help any longer.
