I would like to use the WM6 update wich is now available on the Dutch T-mobile website. The thing is, when I just received my MDA VArio II I decided to move abroad. Therefore I needed to unlock my phone to use it with another provider (yoigo, Spanish)
T-mobile was charging a lot for the un-lock code so I tried a remote on I-mei unlocker wich I bought on the Internet. Worked perfectly
Question is, is my phone still unlocked when I upgrade to Windows Mobile 6?
I would have to say Yes it should Still be Unlocked. If you Feel like for watever reason your Phone Is Still Locked After the Upgrade. Unlock it Again with the Free Tool Posted on this Site By the Many Avid Users of the Hermes And Gurus of the Forums. The phone will still be sim unlocked after you upgrade to the T-Mobile WM6.
And if not then you can allways unlock it again using the free tools mentioned here.

not sure about that device but other htc pda's have the language in the rom so a new rom would be needed
a WWE rom mean world wide english
do i need to unlock vario first before i use the WWE rom ?
donno i never even had a sim locked phone i
dont really know what the tech behind net lock is
but i did see a ton off posts about it in the upgrade universal forum
that is if there are no posts about in the the forum (wizard) for your device
as far as i know those 2 devices are the first ones to be net locked

I baught MDA Vario from T-Mobile in Germany and want to use it also with my old SIM from O2. How can I remove the SIM-Lock. Advice will be appreciated.

it's my first time here. I need help, how to unlock the MDA Vario II. I read something about Lokiwiz03b here in the forum but i coulnd't find the software here. There is no link where i can download the software. The next question is, is the lokiwiz software the right programm to unlock the pda.

Right now there is no free tool to unlock a Hermes, as far as I know. But at http://www.imei-check.co.uk/m3100unlock.php you can unlock it for aprox. 30,- €.

Don't go posting your IMEI in the forum as anyone can then see it and abuse it. Read the Wizard subforum it tells you how to SIM unlock it there using Lokiwiz 0.3b

If you want an easy and secure way, then just wait until HTC releases the official WM6.
However, i have the WWE rom on my unlocked P3300 (original TMO Dutch). Read through that topic, it's quite straight forward and easy to do.
is there a posisbility to get the WWE rom in german???
I simply installed the O2 Image on my unlocked TMob MDA C III... Works fine and no problems during the upgrade.
