Hi,
I have some problems re-mapping Calender button to SMS. I would like to have my Calender button in the home screen to a direct open new SMS button. That way i can create a new SMS with just 1 click(push ) I have tried everything with RemapSoftkeys but i cant get it to work. Whatever i do it keeps opening my Calender. Anyone that can help me out here?
Is there a way to stop the screen from turning on when a Text Message arrives on the TP2? My old Wing did the same thing and I would end up pocket dialing someone because I got a text message but couldn't get to it right away and the screen was on. I searched but didn't find anything about it in here and walked through a few pages of stuff.
Thanks,
Lance
Use Advanced Config Tool
(However, by default, my TP2 doesn't wake on new SMS...)
Thanks, must be a Tmobile default. I'll check this out and get it changed.
EDIT: I downloaded it and installed it but it's complaining that the .NET version is outdated. I'll have to download that later.

is the sounds & notifications, you can choose something like "display message on screen" for Next Text Message
go to HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL
change DisableSMSWakeUpEvent to 1 (0 will wake up the device)
On my Rhodium, it does not wake up by default. I hear the notification, but my screen remains dark
Hi,
I run Handcent for my text messaging but every time I get a text come in, the default messaging prog pops up on the screen.
How do I stop it coming up as I only want to use my Handcent program as it is much more pleasant to use..
Many thanks

go to htc text program, make sure you are not in any thread but just the start of the app, press menu go to settings and disable all the notifications.
Hi! I hope this is the right place to ask. It may sound stupid but I just cannot turn off the auto sms feature on HTC Wildfire S. An automated sms is sent while the phone is in the locked state.
It shouldn't do that, but I know when I was using the WFS and I would drag the red dismiss/decline button to the lock ring I would sometimes then have to tap end call. I had voice mail turned off so maybe it was trying to send a message? It didn't seem to use minutes.
Did you know that when the phone is ringing there's a menu that is only available at that time, whether you're locked or unlocked when it rings...just tap the menu button on the bottom and you can mute the ring and let it ring through to voice mail. Curiously this is where I thought one had to go to send the SMS message, which I used to do when I was low on minutes...I set my message to say I was low and please text or email me...still after it sent the SMS I'd have to then tap on end call. Anyway, check what's in that menu, and if it still sends the SMS if you simply select decline from that menu. My other thought would be to press the power button twice to reject the call and see if it still sends the SMS. One last suggestion would be, in call settings, select to edit message before sending and when it wants to send the SMS and opens for editing, maybe cancel it, or set it to send blank if you're worried more about what you're saying than minutes?
Hi all,
How can i stop whatspp messages from peeking when the screen is on ?
When the screen is locked , i am able to prevent messages from showing up on lock screen . However when the screen is on ( eg when i am doing some work ) , the whatspp messages peek on to the screen for a brief moment and the messages are visible. I wnat this to stop as sometimes the phone is being used by someone else and they get to see the messages .
The "do not disturb "mode or priority modes silence all other message notifications , hence are useless.
In short i want notifications of my whatspp messages but they should not peek on my screen when its on
Can you suggest a solution ?
Many thanks in advance

pull down notifcations bar, press and hold settings button for few seconds. new menu will be added to settings. go to it (system tuner) other, advanced notifications settings, rturn it on. go to settings, apps, whatsapp, notifications, choose the level you want (no peak would be level 4 I think).
Check out iobit applock. Its free and works great.

For whatever reason , i could not get the System tuner to be added to the settings menu. Holding the settings button did nothing . However i surfed the xda site and found out that by using adb command i could stop the peeking on my active screen.
Follow this thread for more details :https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/help/ui-tuner-nougat-t3547059 which says --
"System UI Tuner has the ability to set notification levels including disabling message previews however Samsung pulled it out in 7.0. The solution is this command and you don't have to be rooted:
Quote:
adb shell settings put global heads_up_notifications_enabled 0
Find more info here:

This has worked for me and i have no more peeking. I have samsung S7 with android 7.0.
Will try on Pixel now.
Thanks a lot for all the suggestions
For Now, i cannot make Level base Notification for Custom Applications like Whatsapp. Level Base notification available in built in Apps.
