Although Windows Mobile generally gets all the attention, a whole spectrum of PMPs and GPS units run Windows CE (also known as Windows Embedded) with great results, so the feature list for Windows CE 6.0 R2 is a little sneak peek at what we might see in the next year or so. Microsoft isn't actually officially announcing R2 until Thursday at an event in Japan, but the changelog and a download have already appeared on the web for your eager eyes -- revealing the big addition of video over IP calling in addition to bolstered VoIP features and other obvious-but-welcome tweaks like SDHC support and Remote Desktop Protocol 6.0. No word on when OEMs will start rolling any of this out, obviously, but that's not stopping you from checking the whole list at the read link and dreaming of your own personal super-PMP, now is it?

The problem is that we don't have Windows CE 6.0.
We have Windows Mobile 6.0.
It works with Windows CE 5.2.

Phone Profiles... Seriously

I just updated my "flagship software" for Phone Edition.
(sorry for the one month of delay time)
Many many improvements, new features and fixes.
Now you can replace the default balloon message of the upcoming phone, use the fullscreen message, see the caller's photos in any size... or turn the Pocket PC completely off into the Silent Profile.
More fixes for the standard PPC2002 and WM2003 Phone Edition versions.
You can customize the view of taskbar with all default icons are still visible correctly. The only solution for Phone Edition.
Plus: skinable interface, icons, images, messages in the full version, just it going to change the name to the Phone Profiles Seriously.
The Lite Version is free update for current users.
Test it. There is a few different O/S now. Be sure it works with your device correctly.
The Trial Version works 7 days without limits.
More screenshots, descriptions on the new Home Page:
http://www.jgui.net/phoneprofiles/index.html
Read there how to customize your images, icons, message.
I open the contest for the best and fun icons for Phone Profiles.
The winners (3) will get the full version. Until the end of February.

Windows Mobile 6.1 for HP iPAQ 200 Series?

Just wondering if there is any chance of an upgrade for the new iPAQ 200 series? Is it possible to upgrade these devices?
We have to wait someone to crack existing OS and modify it.
There is no option for wm6.1 now, but i hope that masters like Kozhura, Ramsses, PhamQuang, Da_G and others will manage to do it .
All of you out there, who contribute to PDA & co. comunity, thank you, without you, life wouldn't be as nice .
And we mortals will try and test your roms ...

Probably no is an answer for now...
Until HP releases a Firmware update for the device. The iPAQ 210 is made by Foxconn, not by HTC so there will be for sure some changes on how this device is flashed.
HP released BIOS update... http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsuppor...Id=3544060&swEnvOID=4014&taskId=135&swLang=13
any chance to get closer to create modified rom?
Thanks,
WODP
Here's another plea...
... for a stable WM6.1 rom for the ipaq 200 series!
Indeed, this ROM would be EXCELLENT! Especially since I can't get FlashLite 3.1 to work w/ Opera on my current WM6 setup...and having full YouTube/Google Video support would SO give me a clear shot to go into the Mac store and be like HA! WinMo is better! PWND! Except not be such a n00b about it...

Microsoft contest "Next App Star" just entered to the final phase: the winner will be chosen by user votes from the 64 finalists (64 best apps chosen from 9000 total sent to contest). Voters will have a chance to win a Nokia Lumia 920
You need a Facebook account; open the app at http://nas.newwp.it/ and click "Start voting"!
If you vote for my VoiceTranslator application (first announced here, on xda), I'll be very happy
Thanks!
Even when some of these apps deserve my vote...
I don't trust any "facebook crap", if I wanted my personal details to be known by the "Orwellian friend", I would have wrote real information on the profile when I registered (I did it to get a very important service manual from scribd.com)
Now, off with the rant: Offering the best phone in the word for a raffle that is a scam? no thanks... FB raffles, FB polls... all BS!!
faustolg, it's not just for the raffle; it's for xda developers support I hope, you are enjoying some free applications on your WP7, why don't show your appreciation - it will cost you nothing...

Open Surface RT page Needs update bad

The page really needs an update. Last modification was 10 months ago and there are outdated and WIP pages.
Its a mess and not really helpful for newer Surface Modders.
Not to mention there is a user keeping the USB tool updated to this day, who is actively helping with the tool, Yet there needs to be better documentation on the updates as well. But i would like to ask if this will ever get updated, because its a bit out of date with missing documents including the Linux, USB tool tab, and quite a few other things including outdated or messy instructions.
Last dated Modification: Christmas eve of last year. Most changelog links are either deads or lead beck home.
