I used B&B4.3, now I switch to Aje-fr's french rom, but i have problem to restore my sms and outlook emails, (but I succeed in restoring my all Contacts Pim). I use PPCPimBackup 2.5. Anyone has un idea for me? Thanks in advance.
I found that I needed to fill in the Bullet point questions in the question screen to get the messages back... leaving them all in the default position is not enough.

Does anyone know of a program that backups sms text messages preferably to a pc program (outlook would be good) or exactly where they are stored on the phone so that can back them up and restore them. Also recent calls and call timers etc: where is this info stored in the phone?

I need a little help. I was trying to get my bluetooth to work with my HTC S620 WM6 voice dial and changed some registry keys around and deleted some of the wrong things and I wanted to return them back to the way they where but don't know how, If you could help me I would be more than happy. So I decided that I would re-install WM6 but someone told me that I would loose my contact number (Is this try?). If so is there any way to copy my contact numbers to my PC until I'm finished reinstalling WM6.
Hello,
I was in your situation as well as i wanted to back up my gf's messages and contacts. The easiest way to do it is to do it through Jeyo Mobile Companion. I was done backing up and restoring my text messages, call history and contacts.
Here's a link: http://www.jeyo.com/companion.asp
Good Luck ! keep us posted if you have any problems.
If you have microsoft outlook, yes... you could also store your numbers to your sim card... of course then you'd have to fix them after you reinstalled WM6, but you'd still have them.
Hello everyone,
Having a problem since flashing from stock WM 6.1 rom over to a 6.5 Rom like Mighty Rom.
Can't seem to restore my old sms text messages properly. Tried PIM Backup, SPB backup and Microsoft Myphone with no luck.
I mean they do actually restore the messages except they are scrambled and not in order by the correct date and time. This means when I go to view a threaded convo or use the manila "reply" option the previous text conversation is there but not in the order in which it was originally. This is unfortunately not much help.
I'm not sure if this is a known issue with flashing from 6.1 to 6.5 or not but if anyone knows a way to successfully do this it would be very appreciated.
Well apparently found a fix but didnt really fix it. Someone suggested restore the sms, turn off threaded sms, soft reset, turn it back on and soft reset again. That did resolve placing them in order when I click on "all messages" and in the text message inbox and threaded convo they are all in order.
My problem now lies in the manila sms threading. As in when you scroll to the sms tab, flick through messages and click on the screen and it takes you to a threaded convo showing you a small pic of that person and gives you the little text box on the bottom of the screen to enter a reply and you press "send" on the screen.
Anyway on that screen all previous messages are still scrambled. If anyone knows a fix please share!! Thanks!!
Same problem here. Hoping someone has a solution; it's not critical in any way, but annoying.
I restored with PIM backup after turning off Threaded messages. Then I turned on threaded messaes and the phone takes about 2 hours to sort 3000 SMS. I can see now threaded messages but also have the problem in Manila SMS's threading. New messages come in the right order but restored wont.
I think we need some kind of back up utility that restores messages one by one, from older to newer, both sent and received mixed up. Restore utility at PIM backup will restore Received messages then sent messages and thats why Manilla scrambles. Any idea?
Ok, so I succumbed to hard resetting my device. Having restored my PIM data and texts from backup, I've noticed that in the HTC Manilla Messaging App is displaying my threaded SMS' incorrectly.
All of the restored SMS' are in the correct order but any new texts sent since the restore are being appended to the TOP of the thread, not the bottom.
All of this means that I have to scroll to the very top of the thread each time to see the latest set of texts. Madness.
Is anyone aware of how to fix this?
My TP2 is running stock WM 6.5 and Manilla 2.1
Many thanks.
I've searched for this, but can only find someone related topics for other phones/OSs.
I had to have my Touch Pro 2 (Sprint) replaced, so now I'm running WinMo6.5 with Sense UI 2.5.x. I backed up all my PIM data with PIMBackup (or whatever the program is called). Since I've gotten it, however, all of my text conversations are wonky.
In HTC's text manager, in any given conversation, all of my messages are at the top of the conversation, and all of the other person's messages are at the bottom This can make longer conversations, and past conversations very confusing.
Does anyone know of this error, or of a good fix for it? Thanks!
I've had the same issue before, after flashing a new ROM and enabling the HTC messaging before I restored my PIM file. Are you using a Stock or Custom ROM? If custom, there is a good chance you have Arcsoft messaging installed (if not, you can download it - just search XDA for a cab).
I would delete all messages, enable/install Arcsoft messaging, soft-reset, then restore your messages from your PIM backup file. That may not fix it, but it's worth a shot.

Stock ROM, and yes, I did load the PIM backup after loading HTC messaging for the first time. I deleted most of the old messages (that copied over the 2016/17 bug, somehow...), installed another SMS fix for the message order, and tested it with a few friends back and forth. Seems to be working now.
I also found and installed an Overclocking program, and now this bad boy is twice as fast!
