XT9 input - A BIG REQUEST FOR INTERNATIONALIZATION! - P3300, MDA Compact III General

The new ROMs of both Tom and Meschle contain the new Touch Keyboard / Keypad with xT9 predictive input. It's a good input panel which can be operated by fingers. But only for those writing in English or a few other languages (German, French, etc.) Those belonging to other, smaller nations (like me: Hungarian) usually also have WWE rom, but in case of xT9 we just envy the users of the most common languages...
I've made an extensive search and found a very similar system, also made by 'Tegic' for HTC Vox smartphone. It's downloadable from the Modaco forum and I did it. Looking inside the cab file I saw that the system it creates, including the reg settings, is like the one we already have in the new ROMs. It's very similar but certainly cannot be identical, because smartphones don't have virtual keyboard.
So, my idea would be to use the proper files and the required additional reg settings from the Vox cab and create cabs for each language it has. The Vox cab supports:
Turkish
Spanish
Slovak
Romanian
Portuguese
Polish
Italian
Hungarian
Greek
German
French
English
Dutch
Czech
All together 14 languages and each is supported by predictive dictionary too!
I think it's worth to try to make use of it! But I'm not a developer... So I make an appeal to our admired forum-mates, mainly Tom and Meschle, who successfuly integrated the Touch keyboard into their roms, to make an effort and create CABs for the additional languages if possible. You would make a lot of people happy - first of all: me )
I tried but cannot upload the Vox cab file from my computer in my work, sorry. The link:

Thanks in advance all efforts - be successful or not.

As I understood those CABs are for smartphone too.
So, I'm afraid it's not automatically applicable for our Artemises - Cobra 2's failure shows it.

T9 is not the same as xT9. Languages in the link above can be a good base to create xT9 bases.

That's what I also said. I have and day by day use the HTC's 2 years old PhonePad app with T9HungarianLdb.dll, that is better than have nothing, but xT9 is more advanced since it makes possible the predictive input.
So, my appeal is still valid.
Cheers,

I found these two topics:

Maybe someone can use the info to create something?

Yes, the problem is that the Xt9 system of Vox and Excalibur stores the different dictionaries in .dll files, while the PPC WM6 Xt9 uses .ldb files.
I've tried to hack the system, extracting the Hungarian dll from the Vox cab, copying it to Windows, simply renaming it to ldb and adding Hungarian values to the registry but without any success. :-(
Someone with more knowlegde and experience is needed, since I still believe that it's somehow possible!

hmm that may make it difficult or impossible - shame

I have a good news and a bad one.
The good news is that someone extracted the Touch keyboard's Xt9 files for 14 languages from a new rom!
Download link:
http://rapidshare.com/files/68813010/DualOEMKeyBoard.rar.html
So, sooner or later we will have it in cab file, I'm sure. (The best would be to create different CABs: English + one more language.)
The bad news is that some smaller European languages are NOT SUPPORTED, e.g. Danish, and - unfortunately - Hungarian. :-((
I tried to send an e-mail to Tegic's website but it leads to http://www.nuance.com/t9/xt9/
and it's practically impossible to reach the developer by e-mail... (you can check it if you want)
So my last hope it that the Smartphone system can somehow be 'ported' to our Artemises with the help of a real developer, member of our community.

would love a cab file

Good Work Ctibor! Unfortunately for you and others who's language is not included... but really nice for the others (i would love to see a dutch cab)
But as far as i understand these are oem files, therefore they can be used in creating a rom?!
Who could help us out and make a cab for standalone instalation?
thanks in advance,
Gijs

Can, is simple enough copy all files from archive in a folder windows? meschle, prompt, please - all to you will be grateful!!!) whether it is possible to add or expand languages of the keyboard??!!! In advance many thanks!

Can you upload the file again. Maybe following this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319353 but using the ppc files we are able to do it...

Latest version of SmartDialing with support of different languages and possibility to install on devices without SmartDialing preinstalled is here
Russian T9 for Phone Pad Input v1.0 build 21215 (IntelliPad), also add possibility to enter ukrainian letters (not T9)
This is result of some kind team-work of me (ValeraVi), and mamaich 8). After installing PhonePadT9Rus_v...cab you will be able to write russian words in Phone Pad Input by using T9. Also this adds support of writing russian and ukrainian words (when russian database is selected in options of Phone Pad). Ukrainian letters is not fit on virtual buttons but it is on buttons with similar russian letters. English letters is also exist - it can be entered only if you select english database in options on Phone Pad.
Tested on HTC Blue Angel with clean WM5 ROM Tuma v1.3, but it must work on any device with version of Phone Pad specified above (HTC Wizard for ex.).

After installing V_SmartDialRusUkrEng_v....cab you will be able to search contacts written not only in English, but also on Russian, Ukrainian and also with spaces and "+" symbol 8) ... If you want to and support of other languages / symbols - read readme.txt for attached archive.
This is same as i made early:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=44723
but keyboard layout is changed to be the same as keyboard layout of Phone Pad.
Tested on HTC Blue Angel with clean WM5 ROM Tuma v1.3, but it must work on any device with version of Smart Dialing specified above (HTC Wizard for ex.).
NOTE that for displaying english letters below buttons i changed the standard background of Phone application and assigned it as new skin. Therefore, if you already use some skin, then its background will be changed to my. If you do not want this - open .cab file and delete all registry changes in it (and, also you may delete all picture files in it).
Updated: all dll's and cab's is signed by dummy signature. Redownload archives if cabs cannot be installed early. You will see warning about untrusted something - just ignore this and continue...

Absolutly great idea!!! Couple of questions though, I installed both. T9 works but only in English, there is no Russian in the options. Smart dialing works only in English too, no Russian labels. I have an I-mate with english rom. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need Russian rom for this? For smart dialing, my version is 2.2 (build 22554).
2 dima237
what i-mate you have? pda2k with wm5, k-jam or other?
As i mentioned above i tested only on versions of Phone Pad Input and Smart Dialing that i have. Your versions is diffenrent, but you may try - if not work - just uninstall all. Redownload archives, please, may be you do not see any differences because early dll's and cab's was not signed.
Russian rom is not needed...
Hi Valera,
Thanks for your reply. I installed and unstalled both versions (the one that was posted before and the one in this thread). I see no change whatsoever. I have a K-jam. Maybe I can post my dll's here, as I'm a complete newb in this. Spasibo.
early in this thread i posted not signed cab's, but when i post my previous message i reupload new, signed cab's - if you use it and its not work, then ok.
Yes, give me your \Windows\smartdialing.dll, i try to look at it ...
and about Phone Pad Input ... what version is installed on your k-jam?
You were right about the signed files. I installed them again (the new ones) and now the phone pad t9 in russian with russian keys works great. BUT smart dialing stopped working. It won't let me into the options and it does not show up when i type the numbers. And the phone keypad itself looks like this:
Ok, phode pad works - this is good ..
About smatrdiall - you have other version, therefore it not work. Give me your \Windows\smartdialing.dll i try to look at it... :?
Here you go. Thank you

Here is your dll patched for yours languages... But this is only dll's - i think your know how to copy it to your devices ... After you copy this dll to your devices you can press dialpad buttons and you can search contacts in your languages, but this dlls is not replace english letters on diapad buttons. Letters is replaced by editing tapres.dll and saving it with name tapres.dll.0409.mui - for my device its work, but for wizard seems not ... may be you have other tapres.dll, but it not easy to copy it from your devices ... Who not not want to playing with copying of dlls , and want your letters on dialpad buttons may wait when we resolve problems with changing letters on dialpad on wizard (i do not have wizard, therefore may be some one can help ? )...
I tried to install too but it didn't work. I've K-JAM with ROM 2.17 WWE, that is my dll.
SmartDialing is 2.2 build 22424, T9 is 1.0 build 22364

Pocket RAR 3.50 beta 5 CAB
Thanks a lot. I cannot install 22554 because it's locked by another process. What is the right way to replace that dll?
Valera, you are the man. It works as you described. It looks up in both Russian and English, but key are only in English. And yes I tried several methods to copy the dll you are talking about, but it's in ROM and none of my file explorers seem to copy it. Any ideas on what exactly can be done about it? Because once this is done and I replace the physical keypad with a russian one, it would be the perfect compromise between not having a fully localized russian device (I dont like menus and interface in Russia) and being able to do all the daily task working with Russian!! "The ultimate Wizzard for a Russian ex-pat " so to speak
2 vishny
ok, leave this dll and use .cab ... Search .cab in first message of this topic for Smart Dialing v2.2 (build 22554) and try to install to your device - if it will not work i try to patch your dll...
2 dima237
install .cab from first post of this topic for your version of smard diailing. After this, russian letters must be below buttons ... i think it is a most universal solution
Hey Valera, did I tell you that you are DA MAN!!! Works perfectly. Thanks alot for your time.
One thing left - buy a russian keyboard for 500 rubbles and install it. After that it's complete!!!
ok, good luck with installing new keyboard

How to build your own wm6 language OS from M$ SDK

Ok.. I hope this could be a HOW-TO-DO-IT thread and that people will post some useful info how to build your own language from the M$ SDK wm6
This thread will be updated when there is new info. (but we all need to help!)
First we need the wm6 files of your language
-
How to dump the wm6 files
1- Dowload the images that you want here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...26f-a913-4f370a65a582&DisplayLang=en#filelist
Available languages are:
0404 CHT Chinese Traditional
0804 CHS Chinese Simplified
0405 CSY Czech
0406 DAN Danish
0413 NLD Dutch
0409 USA English
0407 GER German
0408 ELL Greek
040b FIN Finnish
040c FRA French
040e HUN Hungarian
0410 ITA Italian
0411 JPN Japanese
0412 KOR Korean
0414 NOR Norwegian
0415 PLK Polish
0416 PTB Portuguese Brazil
0816 PTG Portuguese Portugal
0418 ROM Romanian
0419 RUS Russian
041b SKY Slovak
0c0a ESN Spanish
041d SVE Swedish
041f TRK Turkish
2- Install them in your computer.
3- Take the image that you want from the installation folder.
For example, if you have downloaded the images for NLD language look in the folder "C:\Program Files\Windows Mobile 6 SDK\PocketPC\Deviceemulation\0413":
The image for Hermes is: PPC_NLD_GSM_VR.BIN (I'm not 100% sure)
- Download Tadzio's imgfs excelent tools in:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298327
- Unzip the tools along with the image in any folder.
- Rename the image to A.BIN (to make the next commands easier to type).
- Open a D.O.S. command window and perform these commands:
> NBSPLIT -emu A.BIN
(it generates two files: A.BIN.EXTRA and A.BIN.PAYLOAD)
> IMGFSFROMNB A.BIN.PAYLOAD IMGFS.BIN
(it generates the file IMGFS.BIN)
> IMGFSTODUMP IMGFS.BIN
And that's all. Files are dumped in /Dump directory
-
What we need! (and how do we get it?!)
So all we got right now are the wm6 files, we dont have any hardware drivers and OEM apps specific to the hermes.
We need;
"XIP"
"the kernel'
&
"module addresses in the ROM"
Hope this will work out, its in best interests for all of us!
@ mods - can we make this sticky? Thq you
Thx to VivaErBetis
You dont need to make a complete rom.
Use an exsisting rom with all drivers and etc.
You will need to replace the mui files from the emulator image..
You will also need to edit the .rgu files.
And you will need to edit the intiflash.dat file.
There MUST be a empty line at the end of the .rgu files and iniflashfiles also.
Im not sure if you need more..
My freeze at the windows logo screen when i have flashed the phone and boot it up.
Well since this is intended to be a learning thread, I have a question. Upon dumping the files, lets say one wants to delete PowerPoint;
I know the executable, and the lnk file are in the windows directory. Now once one removes these two files, are their any other files in other locations that need to be deleted? Also, what about the registry entries? Do those get deleted as well? I would think you would if you wanted to keep the reg clean, and compact. But I could be wrong, and that is why I pose the question.
I am sure I am not the only one curious about this, but I am sure that because of all the flaming around here, that alot of folks don't dare, tread in these types of waters.
Translate..
Sorry for my poor english
I'm trying to translate in Italian language...
I've used this method:
1) I've extracted the Emu Ita Rom;
2) I've extracted a WWE Rom (LVSW_RUU_Hermes_WWE_3.30.2.1);
3) I've changed all the names of *0410.mui (Italian) in *0409.mui and overwritten the LVSW original files;
4) I've rebuild the LVSW Rom and I've uploaded to my hermes.
So, now i can see the 3 boot images, then only the up bar with "start" and the clock...
If I call the PPC I can see "Incoming Voice Call" with the text in Italian, then the image still on the screen and I can't do anything...
I think I'm not so far from the traduction.. I need only know if I've to change other..
Gigabyte i300
I have just updated my Gigabyte i300 with the WM6 Rom provided by Gigabyte. Too bad Dutch language is not included in the Rom. Is there a way I can add Dutch language?
hey, this is quite an interesting thread. i'm still quite new to the hermes, and still playing it safe (haven't done any flashing yet... only reading and waiting). i have the X01ht with it's original ROM (and currently unlockable radio BL). i lurk these forums frequently, and still have a hard time figuring out what requires unlocking and what doesn't.
anyway, relating to the content of this thread, i'm looking to get an english mui installed on my japanese OS. the only other options seem to be 1) Asukal's MUI (which at this point seems like the best solution... i'm just still not completely sure) or 2) installing a new ROM altogether. i don't quite want to switch to an english OS, because i like the japanese/kanji predictive input. also still a bit worried about warranty voiding by flashing a different ROM file. only thing i want more englishized than it already is are the menus. the keyboards are fine.
anyone else looking a similar english solution to a japanese OS? hmmm... am i correct in assuming that too would require ROM flashing? i think i would risk an english softbank ROM...
Are the tools or the commands for extracting / dumping and so on always device specific or are there any general tools that have to be updated to work with certain ROMs?
When you use Bepe's packaging tool on the files you'll get them sorted into packages, specifically all language specific files of a package will be in a seperate folder.
Is it possible to easily repackage those or does one how to copy the files from that folder to the new ROM manually?
Maybe it's a feature for the next Rom kitchen...
downgrade from wm6 to wm5
Hi Guys,
could anyone help me on how to downgrade my Jasjam from WM6 to WM5?
Thanks in Advance!
Bram87,
Did you made a dutch custom ROM yourself? Otherwise could you make one based on the 20070519_LVSW_RUU_Hermes_WWE_3.30.2.1?

Unable to re-create the emulator rom, any suggestion
Could big brother teach me how to re-create the emulator rom from
the dump files. I want to test customed rom before flashing to my Hermes.
I do the following steps re-create the emulator rom. But fail with following message:<
Name of rom is wm6vga.bin
Steps:
1) NBSplit -emu WM6VGA.bin
==> got both WM6VGA.bin.extra and WM6VGA.bin.payload
2) ImgfsFromNb WM6VGA.bin.payload imgfs.bin
==> got a imgfs.bin
3) imgfstodump imgfs.bin
==> got all rom files of emulator rom in "dump" directory
4) ImgfsFromDump imgfs.bin imgfs-out.bin
==> new imgfs-out.bin created
5) ImgfsToNb imgfs-out.bin WM6VGA.bin.payload WM6VGA-out.bin.payload
==> get ERROR here, see below:

ImgfsToNb 2.0 RC 2
No IMGFS partition found in partition table in WM6VGA.bin.payload. Exiting.

any reply is welcome.

If you don't wish to flash then Asukal's mui is indeed your best option. if you want to flash then you will have to recover the softbank AP info
Asukal Mui is easy to install and doesn't mess with your rom .. don't like it ? .. a hard reset will restore your default
A very cool solution .. i have asked him -very nicely if he would be a Eng MUI for my Sharp EM One

Asukal Mui is easy to install and doesn't mess with your rom .. don't like it ? .. a hard reset will restore your default
A very cool solution .. i have asked him -very nicely if he would be a Eng MUI for my Sharp EM One

My freeze at the windows logo screen when i have flashed the phone and boot it up.

hello bunny007,
Sorry to ask a silly question.
Could you mind to give me more detail about the how to "use" the mui files from emulator image? For example, HOW-TO edit the .rgu and initflash.dat files.
Many thanks.
i managed to translate all the .mui in italian using xn resource editor and succesfully boot in full my device, all was working without problem but when the system start up the languages was in english and not translated. i think there is something to do with the files like S000, S0001 but if i replace this file the os doesn't boot, the only way seems to translate the original english file with an hex editor but imho too much time is necessary to do this and when we finish the translated version from microsoft should be already out. nobody know a fast way ?

Could big brother teach me how to re-create the emulator rom from
the dump files. I want to test customed rom before flashing to my Hermes.
I do the following steps re-create the emulator rom. But fail with following message:<
Name of rom is wm6vga.bin
Steps:
1) NBSplit -emu WM6VGA.bin
==> got both WM6VGA.bin.extra and WM6VGA.bin.payload
2) ImgfsFromNb WM6VGA.bin.payload imgfs.bin
==> got a imgfs.bin
3) imgfstodump imgfs.bin
==> got all rom files of emulator rom in "dump" directory
4) ImgfsFromDump imgfs.bin imgfs-out.bin
==> new imgfs-out.bin created
5) ImgfsToNb imgfs-out.bin WM6VGA.bin.payload WM6VGA-out.bin.payload
==> get ERROR here, see below:
========================================================
ImgfsToNb 2.0 RC 2
No IMGFS partition found in partition table in WM6VGA.bin.payload. Exiting.

any reply is welcome.

I do the same and give me this error
ImgfsToNb 2.0 RC 2
No IMGFS partition found in partition table in A.bin.payload. Exiting.
My (no so bad) experience
I've tried to make the Italian Rom (but failed)
This is my procedure:
1)Decompress the ITA emu rom and a WWE Rom (like Faria rom)
2)Copied all ITA *0410.mui files, renamed in *0409.mui and replaced the original in the WWE rom
3)Edited the initflashes.dat WWE file, replacing all the links
4)rebuild the new ITA Rom.
When I've mounted on my hermes, I can see the boot is ok. But he won't to start the startup wizard (display calibration etc..) and I can see only the top and bottom bars; the center seem to be stuck but the telephone work (if I press the green key) and it's in ITA!
So.. what other I've to change?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english

I wish to take an existing cooked rom (LSVW), add my own stuff, take stuff out, then repackage to add to my hermes. To be honest, I don't even know where to begin. I have an NBH file, I've used dutty's tool to get a "windows.nb" and I've also tried the emu images. So far I've seen no step by step guide so I've tried to piece it together from the forums. How do these other guys do it?
knives79 is the same error/problem i have, as i said before if you overwrite the original S000 S001 etc file with the one in italian the sistem doesn't boot and stuck and checking with mtty have a lot of bad block on nand even if tadzio's tools say it's ok to flash but if you take only the file that end .mui (file, not folder) the system start up, i have the calibration screen in italian but nothing more, the rest is all in english

Can someone help me?
When I have my HTC P3300 I was using CE-Star, but I listened that in Diamond do not run correctly.
Thanks a lot!
Try to install 15M YaHei fonts and (xxx)input methord. Don't know its English name . And it just supports chinese input.
Anyway, download link following.

there is a ce-star version for diamond. since you need chinese input, i presume you understand chinese. so, it would be best if you check out those chinese pda forums. they should have the input which u required.

The ROM includes Japanese keyboard although it is the same as WM5 or before.
Is it possible to have a kind of cab file to enable Japanese/chinese input and display ?
I would like to keep my actual ROM instead of flashing another one since I'm learning japanese for few months but I'm not able to use a full Japanese rom yet.
Well I'm aware about "LetsJapan" cab files made by Asukal to enable Japanese display but i can't find an input solution.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Until now, I tried with Hongkong english rom with ce-star (I buyed), and is ok to read and write jp and ch, but when instal korean input like diopen, cjk or other, can read and input korean but some characters from chinese change to square. But if just install the korean font, can't read it (just can read in word but I looking for to explorer or opera).
With this japanese rom that you say can read korean? and have jap/ch input?
Well, thanks to all people that help me!
????!
i too would like to have addon for jap/chinese traditional...
even thou chinese isnt my primary language i'm trying to pick it up therefore would be good to see the names of my mp3s
For japanese support, I started a thread here
Hello, nice to see that I'm not the only one having problems with Asian fonts in Diamond.
Strangely enough, I don't have any issue to display Asian characters, no matter I use CE Star or other fonts pack.
My problem is actually quite wierd: whenever I install Asian fonts support, my four hardware buttons (home, back, call out, end call) and the directional pad stop working...
The other buttons and the touch screen are still OK though...
Anyone has came across similiar issues and/or found a solution to this?

First screen respond "No", the later "Yes" to reboot.
after installation, you should able to read chinese, and input chinese using handwriting.. like below:
Thanks for the Chinese support cabs, but it did not work for me.
The good thing is it doesn't affect my hard buttons anymore, and the kuma input part works OK.
But I still cannot view websites in Chinese. I don't even have the choice in Internet Explorer supported languages.
Besides, many characters are not recognized in e-mails and it only shows a blank square.
This is maybe because I installed the support for Japanese too, as I need both languages.
Another possibility is that the cab only cover traditional chinese and not simplified chinese...
All the other cabs I tried for Chinese support works well, but they do affect my hard buttons.
Just to give the feedback about how I solved my problem to whom might be interested:
1) Since all 'good' Asian Fonts package was putting a mess in my hardware button mapping, I was finally forced to switch to a WWE ROM, preferably one with Asian affinity.
2)
From that point, CE Star and other started to be compatible again, which made me understand what the problem was:
having to deal with different Asian codes plus French (the language of the ROM) plus English (the language of the keyboards Asian Languages' IME are running).
Now everything works just fine, so far so good.

27/04/09 - A new "Hebrew support only" file:
This file is for Hebrew support only - SMS, Emails, Websites etc etc...
It works for me on every WM 6.1 / 6.5 ROM I ever flashed.
Please read this:
1) If the Hebrew on your device works good for you, don't upgrade.
2) You must mark Hebrew in the "regional settings" of your device/OS.
3) There is absolutely no Hebrew translations in this file - except dates in calendar (אפריל instead April for example).
4) This file doesn't fix the Opera mirrored Hebrew,
for the fix - go to post 17.
5) this files doesn't works with IE6 yet (so you can't access Hebrew sites with Internet Explorer, use Opera for now...).

Generally Questions/Bug Reports:
1) Mirrored Hebrew in opera browser:
Fixed - see post 17.
2) Question marks instead Hebrew fonts in the Manila new Contact SMS tab:
Problem solved in the latest Topaz manila from the shiped ROM, there is no solution for old Topaz manila versions.
3) Internet Explorer 6 doesn't work with Hebrew website - we still work on it...
4) Which keyboard should I use?
For a free Hebrew keyboard, I recommended you the great FingerKeyboard2.1:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=501122
PLEASE READ THE THREAD BEFORE ASKING A NEW QUESTIONS!
PLEASE READ THE INSTALL INSTRUCTION CAREFULLY!
Enjoy
How to install:
1) Install the Heb support only.cab
2) Install the Heb MUI - OS and Manila.cab
Very important: don't install the second file before you installing the Heb support only.cab !!!
finally you posted it
but you forgot to warn everyone:
Guys, if you already have Hebrew support on your device you probably will need to do a HR before you install this support.
if you only using the free Hebrew support (polaris proect) on your phone - install only the second file and it should work (but you will probably see some arabic numbers on your screen from time to time )

Yes, you need to install only the first cab ("Heb support only.cab").
But with the new ROMs you can't use Hebrew on the HTC "official" keyboard, so you need to Install FingerKeyboard2:

it works great with Hebrew.
thanx!!!!!!!!!!!!
thank you very much.
toda raba.
Because a lot of people asked me to, I decide to upload a cab with only the new Manila translation, in case you prefer to use your phone with the English MUI but still want the TF3D in Hebrew
does this version allow u to write sms with right alignment?
so that the hebrew comes out ok, and you can select the text nicely?
It would be nice, if in sms screen we can select the GO (global Oriention) for henrew or english

Hi Guys.......I'm a newbee
First of all thanks for all your work.
I just received my new Blackstone (T8282) and i have a few questions:
1. What is Manila? & What is Manila V3
2. I'm only interested in Hebrew Support so i understand that i only need to install "Heb support only.cab " , but will it work on any ROM (i still have original HTC) or only the ROM with Manila V3 on it? (are the Hebrew cabs dependant on which Manila version i have or which ROM version i have installed)??
Would appreciate anyones help,.......i'm just starting to load programs (-can someone also direct me to the link for IGO8 installation for Blackstone)
Thank you for your great work!
Just wanted to confirm it works fantastic (I use the English UI with Hebrew support). The only issue is the Opera which displays Hebrew in a wrong direction. Could you please tell me if there is an Opera build that displays RTL languages correctly? Thank you again.

Thankyou avimak & off-course the "Dude", the Hebrew Support cab seems to be working well, both in Word Documents & in Opera (Opera is in the ROM??). I i see that others have complained that the Opera Hebrew is in the wrong direction, maybe its because they also installed the MUI cab??, i also had this issue on my Trinity, solved it the same way you stated.
The HTTP sites do seem to take a long time to load, can you suggest anything here?
Can you tell me where in the PPC directory i can load/copy known links for Opera & IE?
Again thanks for all the help & efforts.

I believe there are separate roms, and they depend on your localization, e.g. if you are in Europe you will get a European ROM with its languages supported, if you are in another place, you will get different rom and you wont get the European languages (probably just english along with your "local" languages).
I dont think that there are separate language packs that you can just install on any ROM (although i wish there are).
I remember I had this in my RAZR V8, could easily flash any ROM and then just install the language pack of my preference, the OS also was based on linux, like Android ..
Oh well, still too much to do ... compared to those dumb nokia phone in the olden days we can just change language
That's why I ordered from UK, because I want an english one.
Is it easy to load asian languages on? I need Japanese and Korean and found with WinMob it was a nightmare to add on and never really worked properly either :S
as per what HTC told me, only Middle East version of the device (which was made for our region) will have Arabic.
because today i was at a store who bot the Legend here in Kuwait and it had only chinese and multiple english and when i asked them from where did you get it he said from taiwan, i believe it depends on from where you order it.
same goes for me asking people in ebay they all answered saying there is no Arabic in their listed languages
so we need to either get the one they have for our region or download the ROM for this region when they are out officially from HTC
Just fyi, the Desire I bought in France only has English and French.

Hi, Where did you buy the Desire in France? I have been looking online and see it available at RueDuCommerce and Pixmania as well as PhoneAndPhone. I think it is also available directly from Orange but I am most likely going to get it with a Bouygues contract.
Is it easy to switch from French to English? Because I would actually prefer to use it in English then French.
Merci

Is there a way to install Thai font to be able to read Thai websites? Neither stock, Opera nor Dolphin browser show anything but squares...

Hi K.Mokurex
Could you please tell me how to do so? Do I need to customise root or something or it is a simple application from the market?
I hv to make my friend's Desire to be Thai user friendly (readable and type-able).
Cheers + Kob-khun-krub
