Help please - 8 Gb sd micro, XDA orbit

I was thinking of buying a 8Gb sd microcard for my Orbit

Can any experts recommend whether this'll work on the phone or not? I've noted from another thread that if I download http://members.cable24.at/immogroup/...HC-Artemis.cab this and run this on my orbit, then it should work.
Is this right?

Yes, that works, downloaded the same file and I use a 8GB card too. Copy it on your phone through active sync and install. Soft reset and then it works. If you ever update the ROM of your phone you have to take out the card or it will get stuck at a white screen (does not damage anything).
Next time you better use the search function, read a little bit and use a litte less imprtant title.

are you using WM5 or 6? i havent been able to get the SDHC patch to work on my Artemis with WM5....

As far as I know the patch is for WM6 only and does not work on WM5 devices. Is there a reason you don't upgrade to WM6?

I'm in a similar position to mugglesquop: searching for that SDHC patch for WM5 XDA Orbit. Reason for not upgrading to WM6 is that I've invested so much time into my WM5 phone, that I've got everything tailormade to have it the way I want it. I don't want to be starting all over again with WM6 or with a cooked ROM: a WM5 patch will do just fine!
I love the way my phone is: the only thing missing is SDHC compability. Like mugglesquop, I've searched everywhere, but with no joy. Please help!

if you use a 4 GB SDHC cart you need the SDHC-Artemis.cab .
Or you flash your Orbit with vanilla with sdhc

Would prefer not to flash my phone.
Which SDHC-Artemis.cab are you referring to burgi110?
(The one I tried made the WiFi icon disappear and Resco Explorer didn't recognise my 4GB SDHC Card)

- what does CID unlock mean
- what does SIM unlock mean
- how do I know if my phone is CID/SIM locked
- how to do a rom update and how to backup data
- will a rom update relock my phone (CID or SIM)

im new to windows mobile, after having symbian phones before and knew none of the things you are asking, but after spending a lot of time reading the forums, i have got a good understanding now and ive even updated my xda orbit from wm5 to wm6, but i am still learning. Put the time in and it will reward you

I'm not sure which thread to post this query in, but have tried to delete from other threads and can't find out how, sorry.
Anyway on to my query.
Hi folks, i have just bought an 02 XDA orbit 1, and i really like the device although one of my gripes is that the keyboard is too small for texting.
I am running windows Mobile 6.1 professional, ROM version 'Oops black WWE' and I have a 1gb micro sd installed.
can you please let me know if the keyboard 'EZIMPUT 2.1 will work ok on my device in English? and could someone please point me to the link for the best version to use with my device specs?
Sorry also, I am really new to Windows mobile, is it just a matter of putting the cab onto the phone and installing it from there?
Also, sorry again, but is there any way to get the screen to dim completely after the time out. mine still shows and although dim, may be enough to be using the battery.

[Q] Help for an old man with new HTC s620

I just totally destroyed my HTC 8525 and just bought a new HTC s620. I'm having some problems that I can't solve. Yes, I have looked and looked through the previous posts and I cannot find the answers that I need or understand. First, my new phone will not recognize my old 8gb microsd card which I have lots of pictures, music and ringtones on. Second, since I use this phone as my auxiliary brain, I cannot find anywhere for notes to be written. Any help would be highly appreciated!!!

Probably you still are with your stock rom. You should look to upgrade to a custom rom, they support more than 8 GB. Search the sticky in how to flash and perfom an upgrade.

WinPhone7 Leo not recognize External memory

I am new to mobile and to t's site as well. I am using HTC HD2 with Window7 Leo. Unfortunately it does not recognize my 8GB external memory.

This is an unsupported memory card, try another one...
