Schnaps 4 - ATT - No Caller ID - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

Hey Guys,
I admit to limited experience. I have successfully updated through several versions of Schnaps and VPG.
This past week I went with Schnaps 4.0.
When the phone rings it only says incoming call. It does not display any caller ID Info. However, after the call the call history shows the caller ID for the missed calls.
If I hit ignore in the middle of the phone ringing, it shows the caller ID after I hit ignore.
So no Caller ID info during the "Incoming Call" and also none of the personal rings for people is working.
Can someone please point me in the right direction.
(Yes I ran several searches for Caller ID / CallerID/ ATT before posting)
Thanks in Advance.
Dave

Please post in the Schaps Thread. THX

Yes, and don't drink too much of "Schnaps"

I want to be a betatester of Schnaps4 where can i sign in?

Second shelf on the right hand side in the liquor cabinet...

If you are rather new...why not go with VP3G...
It's closer to the stock att rom....only better. SCHAPS (not schnaps) is AFAIK not based on the att rom.
Having said that, I used his 4.0 RC rom and did not have any of the trouble you mention.

Fixed
Flashed the newer 4 release and problem solved.
Thanks for the thoughts.

Incoming Call showing as Unknown Caller

Cingular 8525 comes up as unknown caller for a sec and then shows the caller no. What should i do to fix this? it's kinda annoying!
I get the same Issue
Mine does the samething but it still does show the number. So, its not an issue for me.
Jeez, some people are soooooo picky maybe its the network that has the issue?
Me too!! Why is it becoming more prevalent?
Incoming calls don't show my contact photos anymore, and with previous Rom, I just had .jpeg's on my Storage card,,and all I used to do before was add the picture in my contacts . Right now, only the incoming phone number comes up, and that isn't satisfactory
turns out this is a network issue. I finally got sick of this and called AT&T - AGAIN - and they finally had a tech that knew what to do. They replaced my sim chip and everything is hunky dory...so, call em and get a new chip
Hope this helps...

Figured it was a network issue.
Solution!
i've found a solution!
first i've changed my radio to 1.47.30.10 from 1.56.70.11
second i changed my rom to tyr0 v.1.2 (build 19213).
finally i don't have this issue anymore for about a month since then
Its not a network issue. Its the time Windows Mobile takes to seek all thru your contacts database and crossmatch every incomming number for the associated name.
Regards,
Carty..
this work!
Try this!!!!
set HKCU\Control Panel\Phone\LogCleanPeriod value to "0"

unknown caller id on tilt 2

When someone calls, I noticed caller ID says unknown caller. Not sure why, but I'm using sim contacts. I also tried to switch to phone contacts. I do notice the correct ID shows up in call history, just when someone is calling then it is unknown.
has there been a fix?
Well i am facing the same issue as well with Tilt 2 and sometimes it takes 2-3 rings before the contact name shows up
Yeah many other people are experiencing the same exact problem as you. If you want to get the latest updates on that situation here is a link to an active thread about this problem.

call HTC and AT&T 3x a day untill they do something about it.
Eventually the company will invetigate it and do something about it.
Right now, this issue is just stuck in the HTC and AT&T tech department
Instructing you to do the same thing that does not fix it.

Sense 2.5 Call history button. Please read!

i am using the feb 7th leo rom from nrgz28. but i have the same problem with many of the sence roms with the call history on today screen. it displays missed calls but when i click it it goes to voicemail instead of missed calls. also im not one to check my voicemail so if i have 1 voicemail it hides the missed calls completly. is there a way to just have missed calls on home screen? when i click it have it go to missed calls.. and NOT display voicemails?
Bump Bump Bump
Hey guys just thought I would drop a line and let you guys know that the Call history Tab has been ported for 2.5. Here is a link to the thread and at the end is the reg setting to get it to show so you can change the location

[Q] Rejecting calls and Voicemail

Hey guys.
I have an E250K note II phone (purchased from Korea). I had all sorts of problems with it
- korean apps that i couldnt remove (even after rooting)
- voicemail option (number 1 button), does not work
- OLLEH logo on bootup
- when i get a call, and reject it, it hangs up on the caller, not forward to the VM (my mobile provided reset my account 5 times, no help)
all sort of things
now i installed the Milan 3.0 ROM, and it was magic, EVERYTHING got fixed, with the exception of, receiving a call, and rejecting it
I think it is a feature in the ROM that i cannot find out a solution for
I think the Milan ROM is a chinese one, but it is way better than the stock korean one
So now, what i am looking for, is if someone calls me and i cant pickup, and i swipe the reject button, i want the caller to be able to go to voicemail, instead of hanging up on them
when i even look at the call log, it shows, "cancelled" as the call status
I am not looking for google voicemail or something like that..
i just want the basic functionality of the phone to work i guess.
so i am pretty sure there is something, a hack, or something that would allow the forward calls when busy to VM
when not available or unreachable, it takes the caller normally to VM, it is the call forward when busy is what i am having trouble with
Any help with that, i would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks
wow 86 views.. and no one knows....
I seriously need help from anyone please.
Thanks
I'm interested in this too. I wasn't aware that rejected calls didn't go to voice mail until recently and that's not what I wanted to happen.
Edit:
Hmm. Maybe this depends on where the call originates from. I just tried calling my phone from Skype and call reject sent it to voicemail, but when I get a forwarded call from work it just hangs up.
Can anyone else confirm?
Sent from my Galaxy Note 2 using Tapatalk 2
anyone cares to chime in and tells us something on how to fix this?
is this caused by ROM maybe?
I tried a US rom made for the 7105 models, (i didnt install the modem), and the voicemail option VANISHED, got back to the original rom i had, VM is back, but back to square one, which is hanging up on rejected calls, normal calls that is.

Question OP 9pro on Verizon - caller ID

My caller ID is not working for any calls not on my contact list. This was not the case on the Pixel 3XL I came from. I have added a secondary caller ID app called Hiya which shows me there IS caller information coming across, but the Google dialer is only showing a phone number.
Anyone else with this? Is it normal on OP? Is there a fix?

I have not experienced this issue. In the Google dialer app you can turn this feature on if I recall correctly.

You can.
Guess I should have mentioned I have the settings turned on.
I've reset connections, reset network settings, even wiped the phone a few times installing with zero backups. Hasn't changed anything.
While I'm moderately happy with the phone, this is still an issue.
Anyone have suggestions?
You need to call Verizon and tell them your issue.. they need to fix it on their end
I have a pretty hard time believing this is on the Verizon end when different apps will get the information.
The caller information is making it TO the phone, as evident in different apps, but the Google dialer is not broadcasting the info.
After spending countless hours with Verizon just to get this phone working on their network, I probably shouldn't doubt you. It's just a rabbit hole I don't think I can go down...trying to get to a customer support reps who actually knows how to fix things and not read candid answers off a checklist in front of them is pretty rough.

I had to do the same thing with Verizon first I couldn't receive messages and I had to get them to make the phone cdma-less on their end .. then after I got the messages to work my caller id didn't work ...I was lucky and got someone who actually knew what they were talking about and the caller id issue was fixed after the call

Definitely an issue on VZW side. I've seen reports about this around. I'm on T-Mobile, so it's pretty much enabled by default across all the phones my family has... Including an iPhone.
