Phone going into hibernation/blacking out. - P3300, MDA Compact III ROM Development

OK until today everything was running great. I then had probs with CM keypad saying ti was out of date and the phone going into hibernation, well the screen would go darker then black out, the only way I can get it back is to remove the battery now.
Has anyone else noticed this problem and found a fix ?
Thanks

Does it happen with a full charge? Perhaps your battery is used up, can you borrow a new battery and check if it happens too?

TP2 Will only charge when switched off?

I got mine from Vodafone last night. It will only charge (at least the charging light will only come on when the phone is switched on).
It stays amber for a reasonable amount of time, then turn green. But as soon as I turn it on the charging light goes off.
The battery meter at the top of the screen shows FULL, but if I go to Settings and check there the battery shows down at one single red bar. The phone shows no inclination to switch off (even when not plugged in) with the power meter down at one red bar.
Any thoughts ideas? Bad Battery? I don't think its the charger as I have three and have tried them all.
TIA
Did you make sure that checkbox in the attached screenshot is unchecked? I accidentally checked this one time and took me forever to find out why...

Thanks for the response.
Yeah, I did look at that. It is unchecked, and really only applies to when you are connected to a PC via USB cable.
I'm getting this with wall chargers.
Gave MrMiyagi a hand. All that was required is a hard reset and the problems is resolved. Seems when Vodafone flashed with their horrible branded ROM on they didn't hard reset properly.
Just for reference incase anyone else encounters the same problem.

Bah humbug ... I was going to hard reset anyway ;-)
It's just that you need four hands to do it on this phone. Kinnyfaifai kindly supplied the extra set of hands
Final point on this to help others who experience the same thing I did.
The root cause was that I installed MrRusche's Blue theme (originally designed for the Xperia). Works great get a lovely blue instaed of manky green highlights.
BUT he included in the CAB a 1% battery driver which was screwing the battery reporting up.
Installed the 1% battery driver from this forum after installing the Blue theme and everything is rosy again. The phone will once more charge when powered on

Tilt 2 partially dead after succesful stock ROM update

Ok, I was having some software issues with my Tilt 2 (TP2) and I talked to Tech @ AT&T, cause I wanted to get it exchanged. So they had me go and check to see if my ROM was outdated, which it was. I bileive it was on 1.59-ish, and now its on the most current one direct from HTC's Support site. My main problem right now is that the phone is 99% unuseable at the moment. AT&T has already agreed to send a replacement after talking with them a few hours ago, but its going to take about a week to get here, and it'll most likely have the same ROM and the same problems, so here I am posting to let people know whats going on, and see if anyone else knows what causes this/has this issue.
Right now the phone is completely stock, only installed app is MS My Phone so I could sync my contacts. I can let the phone sit till the screen shuts off from idle, but if I need to turn on the screen once it turns off, it requires the battery to be taken out. Right now my phone is sitting in front of my keyboard, with its screen black and off, while the keyboard is lit up. Something to note - the keys on the bottom of the screen are NOT lit up. Pushing buttons on the keyboard does nothing. Caps Lock and FN do NOT light up their coresponding indicator lights. If I am lucky, I can get the phone to come out of this state by having someone call me, but aside from that, taking out the battery has been the only way to reset it. Only way to keep the screen from freezing is to constantly use the phone. Using the phone is slow as balls. I thought TF3D was slow, Sense is just as bad. It worked perfectly fine at first, right after it was updated, it was nice and fast, but now that its been used for a few hours, its sluggish.
Anyone ever had this issue with this ROM?
And does anyone know how to possibly fix this issue, or at least get it so the screen will show that its on? I can deal with it being slow, so long as I can use the screen
Thanks guys

You already ruled out a software issue by flashing another stock ROM. This is something hardware related. Sense on the AT&T ROM is dreadfully slow. Use a custom ROM if you want the features of Sense, but in a faster iteration.

Galaxy Nexus not charing properly!

Hello,
today I was fooling around with my Phone, flashing stuff etc... =D
I wanted to flash the touch version of CWM and decided to delet everything and install my phone completely new without all the junk. So I made a Titanium Backup and than I wanted to copy the backup to my PC. There the problems started, I chose the Titanium folder and wanted to copy it to my PC but just the folder was copied without the contents. I didn't get it to work. Then suddently my PC couldnÄt recognize my GNex anymore.
Because of that I just deleted everything with a Filemanager and just left the Titanium Backup Folder on the SD, a ROM (AOKP b27), Francos.Kernel and a Boot Animation zip.
So then I went into Fastboot mode and installed the new CWM with the GNex Toolkit and than flashed everything without problems.
After rebooting I plugged my Phone into the Wall Charger (the one supplied with the GNex) and had to discover, that it wouldn't charge at all. So now I can't charge it while the phone is on, I can only charge it while it's off?! And while it's off the screen shows the batteryicon with the flash inside and than for 5 secs it show an animaton of the battery filling up, and then the screen stays black for 1-2 secs and the icon with the flash comes again; is this the normal animation? I think I can remeber it just showing the icon with the flash once and then just the battery charging right?
So I googled a bit about this problem and I don't think it has something to do with the software; so can anyone give me some advise? Is it broken, do I have to send it in?! =(
Sounds like something is up with your ROM or kernel. Have you tried performing a nandroid backup and flashing AOKP?
Well, I did install everything new, ROM & Kernel because I thought that could help but it didn't
Edit:
Just now: Phone was charing while off, I booted it up and in the Battery Settings Screen there was the message " not being charged", I unplugged the phone and the message changed to "discharging" then I plugged it in again and suddently it was charging, unplugged again and plugged in again but now it just stays at discharging
Could the battery be defectiv?
Edit2:
Ok, so now I installed 4.0.2 Stock Google with Gnex Tollkit and it seems to be working, so porbably something witht he rom...strange I ask myself what could have done it?
Ok I need help!
So my problem is not yet solved...
Now my phone charges while on but when I disconnect it it's still charing... The symbol on the battery icon in the notification bar shows the little flash and in Batterysettings the graph keeps reseting the time every 10-20 secs...
So basically the phone - even not on the charger - keeos showing every 10-20 secs that it's charging and than it's not and this keeps going...
I think it must be a hardware problem with the battery because I already flashed a completly new rom and kernel etc....
Anyone suggestions?
Edit: Oh something that I noticed too...since it keeps charing and discharging my screen goes on everytime it "charges"...

Help ! got exactly the same problem on my GN =(
Have the same problem, heres a very helpful response to a thread i started:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23411891#post23411891
I had this same exact problem two days ago. After a lot of googling and changing roms and going back to stock I brought it to Verizon.
The woman there basically told me in not so many words that if it's charging and not dying immediately I should try living with it, which I told her was unacceptable. I said "you can clearly see that it shows it's charging right now. While the phone thinks it's charging, it doesn't go into proper sleep mode, and therefore the battery drains much faster. Additionally, I don't know when it's charging for real or just saying it's charging."
She went into the back for a minute and came back out and offered to ship me one. I just got a "certified like new" shipped to me next day (I have the insurance on the phone) and it seems perfectly fine so far. Updated to 4.04 and restored with Titanium Backup.
From everything I've read it looks like a hardware problem and won't be fixed with software. You may temporarily fix it by leaving the battery out for like 30-40 seconds, but then when you go to plug it in you're going to introduce the problem again.
I would bring it into Verizon and tell them it's unacceptable, and demand they replace it. Good luck.

[Q] ok, battery problem.

hello..
well, the duration of the battery is fine. the problems is that when the battery % reaches 9% it goes down to 1%! it passes from 9% to 1% almost instantly. the same thing happens when charging the phone, goes from 1% to 9% charged in seconds.! so, what is happening with the missing %?
it is an Xperia S, stock ICS rom. the one that sony provides.. i've never rooted the phone.
can i solve this with the PC companion? by repairing the phone?
thanks..
(sorry for my bad english)
Maybe the battery status is not updating automatically. Try updating it manually

ok, i did it. but no, problem still there.. maybe it is a bug like the other person says.
well i'll wait for the JB update, it should be in a few days. i hope it solves the problem.
thanks for the answers.
I had this exact problem a few weeks ago on an LT28at with, at the time, ATT's ICS .111...i flashed everything i could find trying to chase it, rooted, unrooted...did that hard reset thing with the battery full, etc...Mine was about 30% off...it would stay at 100% for hours, and would shut off as soon as the phone hit about 31%...and show all the crazy cliffs in the battery status menu...
I was sent a replacement by AT&T...the directions for returning my old phone stated do a master reset...boot down the phone...remove the sim card...and boot it back up without the sim card...I skipped the master reset, as the phone had just been flashed back to unrooted ATT ICS .111 (wanted that on there went i sent it back)...
booting the phone without the sim card...the battery icon flashed a few times...then popped back to 'normal'...No idea if this was just coincidence, or something else...as again; i had tried every single option i could find on here (rooted batterybin wipes, everything)...none of which seemed to changed anything...but it returned to normal precisely when i did a sim-less boot up...
its worth trying, but no promises...it may just be something that eventually fixes itself...
Calibrate your battery using app by nema in playstore

that's the same thing that is happening to me! but with just a 8% battery missing.
i will try to turn off the phone, then remove the sim card thing.
well you send it to at&t. i can't do that, i'm in Venezuela. bought the phone online.
if this doesn't work i'll try the battery calibration app..
thanks for the answers.! really apreciate it.

[Q] Blue Screen of Death Everynight on CM11M7

This is the weirdest behavior I have ever noted from my device. I am on the LG E975 with CyanogenMod 11 M7 release. I installed it the day it came out and it was working like a charm, no problem.
However, over the last three days I wake up every morning to find that my phone has a blue screen of death on. I am quite groggy at this point, os I haven't ever tried to read the BSOD (I'll try to tomorrow morning). I shut it down and it goes into the bootloader menu, where it asks me to choose between options like, Power Off, Fastboot, Recover Menu ... And then I can power on like nothing ever went wrong. I suppose its relevant to mention that while hitting the bed my phone is usually near a full charge (>75%) but not plugged in.
This hasn't happened during the day at all.
I do not remember installing any new apps over the last 2/3 days and the only thing that is different is that my phone is on roaming (in the same timezone).
I tried having a look a the logcat but I am no mobile device expert and the one I was able to get in the morning only contained logs from the reboot, so no information about the crash itself.. If anyone has any suggestion on how to locate the problem that would be great.
I really want to avoid a complete wipe. Thanks all.

Leave a logcat here so i can help maybe.
Do you undervolt your cpu frequencys ? maybe you do it too much, or maybe overcock too much.
Also is a good idea check your app wakelock, maybe some wakelock is causing this, some app.

Hey,
Can you tell me how to retrieve my logcat? The one I was able to get is from the reboot in the morning.
I haven't ever played around with any sort of overclocking so that can't be it.
Can you also tell me a little more about app wakelock?
Thanks

With this you can get Logcat.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1726238
Download wakelock detector from playstore and check how many times and what app are causing wakelocks.
Really without logcat of reboot is very hard to say.
Anyway a hard reset should fix this..
