Volume Control on alarms - P3300, MDA Compact III ROM Development

Good Morning - I am having problems with the alarm on the phone - I have tried a number of diferent software packages but they all have the same effect - the volume is always loud even when set to 40% ( Normal ) - this occurs on the inbuilt tones as well as mp3's
Currently on B&B4.3 - excellent rom !!!
Any ideas?

It would seem that ring volume is also load and cannot be adjusted !!

i have gone in to settings and changed the ring vol to full on the slider
any help i give thanks angel
Strange, my native ring tones files are very audble.
Anyway, have you tried increasing the volume of the file of the ring tone, and saving it?
U can even use native system tool
(start/programs/accessories/entertainment/sound record) - donĀ“t know if these are exact names as my windows is in Portuguese. Save the file with, say, 200% volume increase and transfer to ppc. Now it must be very audible.

[Q] CM7 RC4 Problem

I've had this happen on RC2 as well...
After I've put the volume all the way down (vibrate only mode) and then turned the volume back up, none of my notification sounds will play. When I get sms/email the vibrate will go off but not the tone. I've checked Handcent and GMail settings and they both have a tone selected. However, once I get a txt/email, only vibrate no sound. My call ringtones, volume up/down, apps, music..etc works, but no notification.
Anyone help?
Grab Audio Guru from the market. It lists out all the system sound modes and lets you control all six of them individually. I had this happen once and found one of my sound controls set to zero. Used the slider in Audio Guru to increase it to max, problem solved.

[Q] Ringtone & notification volume too loud

Running LeeDroid with volume steps set to 'Finest' (not sure if this is relevant) and the notification and ringtone volumes are still quite loud even when set to minimum.
I like to set the volumes to just loud enough to alert me while dozing but not loud enough to wake me when sleeping. Can't do it
I know I can select different tones and create audio profiles but I want this phone to work how I want it to, just like my good old Desire did/does.
Is there a mod/hack to alter the min/max volumes?
Upgraded to LeeDrOiD 6.4.0 and having the same issue.
Anyone with any ideas? We can control the level of auto screen brightness, can the same be done to control the volume steps?
I can't seem to turn the volume low enough at night to not be disturbing!

Help! Volume control problem is driving me nuts!

I can't get alarm volume back to normal in Uber Driver app.
It so happens Uber Driver app decided to use "alarm" volume type for trip alerts. I personally thinks it's a very bad idea because this volume type is not shown when you expand the volume control overlay, at least in a Samsung S9+. I'm going to raise it with Uber but I don't think they are going to change it, because they have an option of using the loudest volume for trip alerts, so if they use any other volume type, it disrupts use of other sound outputting apps such as music or ringtone. Even if they are OK to change it, it will be thrown in the backlog for a long time before it gets rolled out. This does not address my direct problem.
So in order to control this volume type, I had downloaded several volume control apps which showed this volume type, but now the volume seems stuck at the lowest level! I'm losing trip alerts in Uber Driver app which voids my chance of making money when driving for UberEats. This is really frustrating.
I suspect the reason it's stuck at lowest volume level consists of the following:
My alarms are set to start from lowest volume and increase, because I usually can wake up or hear the alarm go off at lowest volume. I don't need to startle myself. So everyday from the wake up alarm, the alarm volume is reverted back to lowest.
One or some of the apps I installed for volume control must have bugs. They do not unlock the volume when they are uninstalled.
Or, it could be as simple as from some point on, the Samsung or Android system no longer allows control of alarm volume from "the outside"?
I had done a settings reset, did not fix the issue. I do not want to be forced into doing a full factory reset including apps and data. And I don't have the time to write an app to check what volume type or parameter is causing this issue. And I don't think those volume boost apps will help, because currently the Uber Driver app alert sounds far away, not just soft. It sounds echoed and far away. I've had a similar experience with its built in voice navigation before this problem started (and before I applied the Oreo upgrade) - the navigation sound (which is on media volume type channel) would start soft, echoed and far-away-sounding, but became normal after about 2 seconds. That problem has gone away and it wasn't too much trouble. This alarm volume problem has not gone away no matter what I did, and it is a big problem for me because of the money-making opportunities I'm missing. Strangely, the system built in alarm clock alarm sound does not have this problem. I have been turning them off before they get the chance to get louder, but even the lowest volume sound did not appear to be far-away-sounding, or too soft. The Uber Driver app alerts when they are at the lowest of the low, were not audible at normal use distance of a phone.
I did upgrade to Oreo and applied the security update which came a few days after the initial Oreo release. But I doubt that caused the issue because it was after I tried the apps that I started having this issue. The first I installed was https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=netroken.android.persistfree, which contained adds and I uninstalled. Second was https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.loadlynx_jp.vollynx.free and third was https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.hp.volume as an attempt to fix this issue. I did reinstall the first one and checked and unchecked the lock volume tick box, did not make a difference.
How can I get control back on my alarm volume? Please help.

Alarm, notifications and ringtone volume too high S20+

Hello!
I got my S20+ (SM-G985F) a few weeks ago and the alarm clock, notifications, and ringtone volume on my phone is too high. Compared to my old phone (LG V20), the minimum volume is equal to 50% of the maximum volume in my old phone. The minimum volume should be barely audible. This is a big problem for me, as I don't want to be woken up to loud sounds, and I don't want every room I'm in to be blasted with sound every time I get a notification or a call.
Here is what I tried so far:
* Installed "Sound Assistant" from the galaxy store. It doesn't do anything for the alarm volume, and the notifications and ringtone volume, even when it's 1/100, while it's better, it's still too high for some situations.
* I set the built-in EQ all the way down, it doesn't reduce the volume.
* I used an external EQ app (Equalizer FX) to turn everything down to -10db, which does help with the alarm clock, notifications and ringtone volume, but it also affects the media volume and makes it too quiet, so I have to disable it if I want to watch youtube for example.
Did anyone encounter this issue or have suggestions on how to fix it? Thanks!
I understand your problem. But if I choose e.g. Asteroid as the alarm sound and set it to lowest volume, it is really calm and pleasant to my ears, and I am quite sensitive to noise too.
The only possible way to maybe get a different volume control would be a Custom ROM like LineageOS I guess.
