Rogers HTC s621 to work on T-mobile network? - HTC Excalibur

Hi everyone,
I have an unlocked Rogers S621 that I am using here in the US with T-mobile. I cant seem to get MMS to work. Can anyone help?

Go to Start > Settings > Connections > GPRS
Create 3 GPRS profiles named "T-Mobile MMS" "T-Mobile Data" & "T-Zones" with following settings:
Connects to: WAP network
Access point: wap.voicestream.com
User name: (blank)
password: (blank)
Authent type: None
Prim. DNS: 0.0.0.0
Secon. DNS: 0.0.0.0
IP address: (blank)
then go to > Connections > Proxy
create a proxy profile named "T-Zones Proxy" with following settings:
Connects from: WAP network
Connects to: the internet
proxy(nameort): 216.155.165.50:8080
type: http
blank for user name and password
Now go to Start > Messaging
Scroll to MMS, while MMS is selected press Menu > Settings > Menu > MMSC Settings
Delete anything in here, then create new profile "T-Mobile MMS" with following:
Name: T-Mobile MMS
MMSC URL: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
wap gateway: 216.155.165.50
port: 8080
connect via: wap network
max sendin size: 300k
wap version: wap 2.0
That's how I got wm6 rogers rom to work with my t-mobile dash

Thanks A Million Guy, Been Looking For This Fix

WOW thank you!

you're all very welcome.

going the other way
does anyone know how to go the other way on this? What I mean is that the saetting that you have given for the T-mobile MMS settings fit nicley into my phone, however, the settings that I got from rogers seem to be for a different service all together. Whats I have fro rogers is this
Rogers Media
Connect to : Internet
Access Point : Media.com
User : Media
Pass : Media
The problem is that the set up screen looks exactly like the one you guys are descrivbing in the T-mobile version and there is no where to actually put in this info...

[Q] MMS settings for use with Froyo + Starhub (SG)

Hi there,
I've been unable to send/receive MMS despite trying tons of different settings over the past few days. Not sure if it is due to the WWE Rom.
If any of you has got a working config, could you share it with me?
Device: HTC Desire
Version: WWE ROM with Android 2.2
Network: Starhub on HSDPA
Here are my current APN settings, no problems at all with normal data access:
Name: Starhub Internet
APN: shwapint
MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 525
MNC: 05
Authentication type: PAP
APN type: default,supl
Name: Starhub MMS
APN: shmms
MMSC: http://mms.starhubgee.com.sg:8002/
MMS proxy: 10.12.1.80
MMS port: 80
MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 525
MNC: 05
Authentical Type: PAP
APN Type: mms
i welcome all suggestions. thanks guys =)
I'm not sure if this will work for you as well, but I had the same problem with Vodafone MMS configuration. In the end I found that one of the APNs had two APN Types defined, as you have. Deleting the supl type in my case fixed the error, its a simple change that you can try and see if it fixes your problem too...
Here's the settings you should try:
Code:
Name: Starhub Internet
APN: shwapint
MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 525
MNC: 05
Authentication type: PAP
APN type: default <---- Delete "supl" from here
Name: Starhub MMS
APN: shmms
MMSC: http://mms.starhubgee.com.sg:8002/
MMS proxy: 10.12.1.80
MMS port: 80
MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 525
MNC: 05
Authentical Type: PAP
APN Type: mms
yeah i tried that. and lots of other combinations out there.
interestingly i've deleted the internet APN and it still connects. but no MMS.
alright i got it to work now.
the trick is to first go to the APN settings screen, press Menu, do a Reset to Defaults. For me this cleared off all my APNs and probably some hidden cache elsewhere. After that I reentered all my settings and now it's good. =)

T-Mobile APN Settings

Hey I switched over to Evil's sense rom and forgot to write down the apn settings. Can anyone list the stock G2 apns for me? I seem to remember there were 3 or 4.
T-Mobile Data
epc.tmobile.com
T-Mobile FOTA
epc.tmobile.com
T-Mobile MMS
epc.tmobile.com
BTW, T-Mobile Data is selected.
Is this what you have for the data apn?
Name: T-Mobile US
APN: epc.tmobile.com
Proxy: <Not set>
Port: <Not set>
Username: <Not set>
Password: <Not set>
Server: <Not set>
MMSC: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.50
MMS port: 8080
MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
Authentication type: <Not set>
APN type: default,supl,mms
What do info do you have for the MMS apn?
For the MMS issue, I have done the following...
On the original STOCK G2 ROM there are 3 APN settings. I took these settings and created 3 new APNs in this ROM. I had my friend Derek (wrkpam) do this as well and try sending me picture messages. He has a G2 and is running this ROM as well. All 4 picture messages he sent came through to me. So it was a success...
Go into Settings > Wireless & Tether > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names
Delete the current APN (don't worry, you can always hit menu and restore to default apn settings)
Then create a new APN for the 3 of the following.
Here are the 3 APN settings. Any area that is not listed below is just left as <Not set>
Name : T-Mobile Data
APN : epc.tmobile.com
MCC : 310
MNC : 260
APN type : default,supl
then hit menu, and save
now create the next one.
Name : T-Mobile FOTA
APN : epc.tmobile.com
MCC : 310
MNC : 260
APN type : hipri
then hit menu, and save
now create the next one.
Name : T-Mobile MMS
APN : epc.tmobile.com
MMSC : http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MCC : 310
MNC : 260
APN type : mms
then hit menu, and save
After creating, AND SAVING, those 3 APNs, go back to the Wireless & Networks screen. You may see where it says Mobile Network with the check box next to it changing between Connected and Connection Failed. If you do, Uncheck the box. Wait a moment, and check it again. It should now stay on Connected...
Go and try sending an mms! I really hope this works for you all. It worked for us!
Hmm no go on sending an MMS.
Tried your settings as well as adding the
MMS proxy : 216.155.165.050
MMS port : 8080
edit: got it, for some reason it kept reverting to TelKila.
This worked for me... minus the red but I left t there in case it worked for someone else.
Name: T-Mobile US

I was having trouble getting MMS working with LorD ClockaN's recent ICS builds. I found this information and entering it as a new APN got it working for me. Hope it helps some of you too. Unfortunately it is only for Australian carriers.
