Yeah, that is the one. Remember you want the WWE CJT version.
If you don't want to spend the time, I know there is a way to enable japanese support, I just don't know how. Also, with the above Rom it supports jap/chinese characters but there is not jap/chinese character input. This means that while you will be able to read characters you cannot input them until you download a japanese SIP.
Don't ask me about that because I have no idea .
If someone on this forum could recommend a good japanese and a good chinese input method I would be happy.
Well,
not sure but in your case it should be enough to change the HW Keyboard to japanese and install the VODAFONE PROVIDER SETTINGS.
HW KEYBOARD change is registry hacking:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Registry
PROVIDER SETTINGS CABs can be found here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_provider_cabs

The HW keyboard change can also be done using Schaps AdvConfig (set it to japanese). The Provider settings do not have any options for Japan or China

Search "Let's Japan No.6" on Google and install it.
If you don't want to reflush ROM, this is the best solution.
You will need Japanese IME also. You can purchase atok for ppc from Vector.
But you need some tricks for use it. The solution is also written in Askal's web.
There are lots of web site for Japanese on Hermes and WM devices.
If you search "Japanese Hermes" or "Treo 750 Japanese", you can reach the solution for use of Japanese lunguage on WM devices.
wer can i find Ollipro's SPL 2.10 to complete the installation?

Modulo one thing: the IME link on asukal seems to have moved; I suggest going to http://asukal.net/blog/?m=20060912 instead. Everything else, however, is straight on the money.

I don't have the full ROM (best way for you), but when worse comes worst, I can give you the contents of the Extended R (which I do have). If it comes to it, check ROM version with a friend, flash it from here, mount the ExtR and substitute its contents with Orange IL ExtR. You may need to Super CID but I guess you've already done it to 6.0. At the end you may want to downgrade the IPL/SPL (see thread here or WIKI) but frankly once back to original ROM I doubt if the Service Station will go the extra mile to check. Let me know.
on the FTP you`ll find the full ROm dumped.
read around and burn it.
you`ll have a full working orange device.
next time - back it up
(I didnt upload that dumped rom)

Elivne, Not that I'm ever even considering to get back to 5.0 but just for service cases one may bump into..
I've been to the ftp, seem to have access to all dirctories - but - dumped ROMs.. have you meant XDA-Dev FTP, and if so is there an Orange IL complete ROM dumped ?
sure, here it is:
ftp://xdaupload:[email protected]/Hermes/HTC_TyTN_OrangeIsrael_Original_1.18.255.3.zip
I didn't try it, but i`m sure it's genuine a user at the "freak" used it.
does the rom come with hebrew support built in? have u guys been able to get Hebrew running on any of the WM6 roms?
I have a TYTN, both cellcom & orange came with heb. on the ext.rom - both Hebrew versions worked(notice that cellcom locks your device if you run all of the EXT.rom).
I currently use a legit eyron beta for WM6 - the latest beta they have is filled with bugs - use the old beta(you can find it on pocket.co.il or the freak site - someone uploaded it to rapid or something like that.)

yeah... well paying 500 sheks just to read Hebrew websites is not really my thing if u know what I mean...guess I'll just have to wait till those guys on the Russian forums crack it or till Microsoft decides to include support...
how about the IPL, SPL and Splash
OK after downloading the dump I now know how to restore the OS and Extended ROM. What about the IPL, SPL and Splash to make this a full ROM.
I will of course post this back to the forum for everyone to use. No use having multiple people waste their time on this

you cna install and then uninstall(you`ll have fonts and can read in miror form).
another solutions is found at the FREAK site, a user found a way to read heb in PIE without heb.

Is there a way to get a non-orange version of WM6 to read hebrew text messages? I have had this problem on my Tytn for AGES!
In this forum I have been pointed to third party software that almost bricked my phone...is there a simpler way?

Do exactly what was explained above. Goto Eyron site, download the beta, install and instead of registering disable it. You will have the hebrew fonts but from left to right. Good for SMS or maybe short emails but will not help with PIE.

eyron heb(with up to a month or trial):
www.pocketpc.co.il - use the site to get a trial registration.
the current heb versions is not good, send me your mail and I'll send you the first beta that was good.
For the orange user,
I said before - you can install PDAC on WM6, you must use English UI and remove all files ending with: *.040d.mui (in the windows directory).
but the phone will freeze from time to time.
i recommend using eyron with the trial for some time and only them use PDAC(so you'll know the freezes were caused by PDAC.

Hello!
I have two questions for u:
1)Do you think that you can make same ROM, but with the OS in English? (for those people that don't speak Japanese)
2)I have normal English rom with Japanese input package installed (IME_31J_QVGA_F.cab). Bu default, it always use japanese input in Hiragana. Maybe you can let me know how to change this default to Japanese input in Romanji.
Thanks!

Hello!
I'm sure you know better than me what ROM is better (between Black lite, Sheutl's or Schap lite). If it's cooked for Softbank, want Is most important for me is to be fast (that's the reason Oficial Dopod is not the best option) and good A2DP (not sure want is better; now I have Sheutl's one, and It don't work very good). I think Black lite should be better option, but not sure.
Really thanks a lot.

@oldominion,
Sleuth's SIPChange may be what you are looking for. It is a big program, but it seems to do the job. It enables you to change your default SIP to whatever you want - i.e. the regular english keyboard.
@sesaru,
This might work for you too, but I don't think it is exactly what you are looking for. Give it a try and see if you are satisfied.

Hello, I'm really sorry for asking a noob questions but here it comes:
1. I bought this new device from Taiwan (business trip) after a hot recommendation from one of my local friends.
2. He convinced me that it should be "very easy" to change the language to english.
3. I was not able to return it and now I can't fix the problem and I'm stuck with it.
4. Please help
Thanks,
Moni
P.S. I'm a software developer (linux kernel stuff) so I probably won't have problem understanding your direction and of course I'm willing to read and learn as much as needed.

you can download some chinese rom from www.592ppc.com
you also can install ce-star to get chinese support

Is this what you're looking for? Rom with a chinese interface?
If it's just chinese sms/emails and such, just install CE-star. You should have the disc in the box.
I just use CE-Star(it came with the phone) to write/read Chinese character, I think it does have PinYin supported as well.
And for interface, I tried Diamond TF3D config (which can be easily found on this website) and change the interface to traditional Chinese without any problem, though I am more used to the English interface.

If you just want to input and read Chinese (but have an English language device) you can do what I do. I use Atom's ROM CHT with Manila 2.1 and additional PlumSIM 6.1 for both simplified and traditional input and it works great. Alternatively you can download the full Traditional Chinese version (everything is in Chinese) from HTC Hong Kong using my serial number HT989LL00828. If you want to input Simplified Chinese you still have to get PlumSIP.
Finally you could get CE-Star. But I am having problems with the display in some programs and the onscreen keyboard is tiny, so I prefer above solutions.
thx, guys. I've already found the chinese.cab, and the chinese input~~
can you share which .cab file you download? Thanks!
in this , http://ricky119.com/chinesesupport/ ,you can find many useful resource , Chinese(Asia Language) support for Non-Chinese ROM , i suggest you choose the one can support Chinese PinYin Seek in dial panel ,this is important and very very helpful .
as friend #5 said , it just support "input and read Chinese " only , i think is's enough
but if you want a 'chinese language WM device ' , i surmise you can't find it here ,you would find it in any chinese website ,such as pdafans , 52dopod...etc
