thanks for all the useful info I've gleaned from these forums, now to return the favour and pass on some research;
I've the Artemis P3300 (HTC std. model), and was running it on std Rom with WM5.
I had installed and had running well, Adobe Acrobat V2, it worked well, and had what is essential to me, REFLOW mode.
So... I updated to WM6 (official rom), all seems OK, so installed all my other programs, and tried to re-install Acrobat, no luck, either from the windows installer, or the CAB file, INSTALL FAILED, read ALL forum postings (2 hours...) but didn't find a solution.
Tried all the other PDF readers (about 4 I think) none of them had REFLOW.
Finally, in desperation, I loaded Reader version 1 (for 2002), and to my surprise installed perfectly onto my storage card, and works well, it seems smaller, and a little quicker than ver 2.
I've read where other people have installed reader 2 with no problems, but it didn't work for me.

Hy Guys, I was looking at the thread in the forum, I need a WM6 ENG Rom for IPaq hx2795 that really works. I can pay by PayPal, let me know who has it or can generate it. I am really tired of WM5, it is very slow and freezes all time. Tks.
Maybe to give a try to kozhura's AKU3_52_hx2000 (WM 5.0 English) for IPAQ hx2000 series. I tried it to my hx2490b and is faster than the original. Look at this thread:

This wm6.0 also has the same BUG of battery drained by automatic active sync running.
ABOUT A2DP:
I think someone here must contact Khozura, he successfully make a2dp worked on hx4700 BT either on WM5.0 & WM6.0 by special patch cab.
Please someone here who knows Khozura ask him to make a patch for hx2000, thus we can enjoy a2dp.

Another BUG in WM6.0:
When using TCPMP player, you can not hear any audio from wmv video. Strange?? I can play and hear the same video at WM5.0.

I have used this rom on a hx2190, and i have found it impossible to sync my calander, being unable to use any of the windows live programs and there is no remote desktop mobie. Apart from them it seems to work
Hi all, I put it in my hx2795, the A2DP does not work, the fingerprint reader does not work, the TCPMP sometimes work and not with AVI and does not work with WMV.
I can not see the contrast and error reporting tools, I saw a post where the developer said it is a case of editing the registry but does not say where...
The boot at first time did not work I was in panic, after that took out the sd and cf, drained the battery and retried, it booted but I am afraid of rebooting it again...
I did not try Windows Live and sync calendar, hope it works...
I have tried other tools (excel, word) and it worked well.
I am not sure this ROM is stable yet, any sugestions ? should I try reflash it back to WM5 or there is anything I could do to minimize these problems and keep the WM6 ?

OK,
I am having the same hx2795 and I found the following
a) Active Sync is working, When I tried at first time it didn't work. After I did a hard reset then I enabled "Advanced networking" from the "USB" settings menu then it worked
b) Sync over Exchange server working fine
c) WiFi is working, I checked with WEP security
d) Bluetooth is working but A2DP is not working When I tried "High Quality Audio Profile" it says authentication failed, I never see it is asking me for the pass key, so I guess that may be the problem
e) TCPMP works fine for FLASH and AVI movies, WMV does not work because WM6 uses a higher version of codecs, so you have to use WMP or you need to replace the WM5 codecs, search through over the forum you will find a solution
f) Finger print authentication works great.
g) Windows Live and messenger is not working, it says there is no connectivity and I don't know what is the deal. But IM+ is working just fine
h) You can install Finster-WM6_RDP.cab as a Termial Service client, it is very good than the inbuilt RDP client in the original HP ROM and it allows you to connect services that use custom ports
i) ROM seems to be stable and I don't have any problem with other functionalities atleast untill now

will this work with transflash / transflash hc cards, and currently my hx2790b will not read a 512 transflash card with sd adaptor, and thats not transflash hc, as i have a 4gb transflash in my N95 and that can read it lol

I could not do 'contrast' and 'error reporting' show, any idea ?

Hi,
even I don't see the contrast and error reporting menu, so I guess it might be work for some other hx2000 series and not for hx2795, or it may be some registry hack, I don't know
Can someone upload the CAB file? Without redirecting me to the Adobe website and Rapidshare (in others, please use the file attachment on this forum)
I am asking this because I cannot download it from my phone's Internet Explorer, cause when I go to the Adobe website to try to download it, it comes up with some sort of messed up code or something....really frustrating.
When I try to download it from rapidshare the download just says "Wait 0.8 minutes" and it just stays like that.
I am also asking for you to upload the CAB here because I do not of ActiveSync on my computer, and I do not have the administrator privileges it requires for me to download it. I have USER privileges not admin privileges.

It OEM version, registration is not necessary.
Hmmmm, it installs on my WM6 Dell Axim X51v (Football A03RTM) and puts a shortcut in the programs folder, but it won't run and gives me some crap message about being unsigned or missing components
Would I be correct in assuming that it was simply not meant to be used with my device?
It for HTC devices, as well works on mine ASUS P525.
As to DELL - I do not know.

Dell Axim was manufactured by HTC for Dell. I guess this is different than most of the other HTC devices. Though several of the Apps ripped out of the HTC touch ROM worked for me.
I have come to the conclusion that this is not compatible with my Ax.
Oh well, worth a try.
I don't know if this is a different version, or not -- but you're free to try it and see.
Hi i Have the HTC s620 AKA (T-Mobile DASH)
and i can run the program itself but when i try to run flash pages from the Iexplorer program on the phone itself i get an error reading

I'm not sure why it wont play the video? Are there different flash files that are made to be compatible with the windows mobile 6 OS. I've run 3 different versions of flash lite even the ones on this forum but not sure if they will ever work to support videos via the web on my phone. any ideas?

cube v2.1 cannot install
hi all,
i am using Samsung Omnia which is running WM 6.1.
I tried to download and install Cube v2.1 software but when i press to install, the error messge shows "An unspecified error occured". the title of that error msg box is "Zip Mobile".
how can i solve that problem?

I have a problem. Each time I try to press a button in some flash animation, Flash Lite shoots up error that I have not enough memory and flash animation closes. I have tried it immediately after hard reseting and still the same. The flash animation is created by me in Flash MX Professional 2004 and it is exported fot Flash Player 7.

hi, sorry if this topic has been posted before. and sorry for my ignorance on this topic.
i have an orbit that came with wm5 which i later flashed to the official wm6 via o2 upgrade website.
the only problem i have is that the new rom is taking up too much programme memory and has made the phone terribly slow.
i'd like to get it flashed with a rom that doesnt take up too much memory but the problem is that i cant find a step by step guide of how i should do this.
what is the most stable rom available for the orbit and where can i find it from?
if i get my phone flashed via a 3rd party rom will it remove the microsoft office mobile apps from the phone? (i really need these for my uni studies)

what you need to do is make sure you run USPL first! otherwise u may BRICK your phone.
What I found the best rom to be is artemis touch 4.01. Try searching for it nad follow instructions in there. If i remmeber correctly the UPSL program is included in the update that you download.

'Artemis Touch 4.01" comes in several versions - Full, Lite, Vanilla, with and without cube etc. 'Artemis Touch 4.01 WM6.1 WWE ROM - Lite without cube' has an incredible amount of memory left over for running programs. A couple days of running it now and I have no problem keeping about 19-20M free. USPL is included with both ROMs mentioned here.
No matter which version you choose it will wipe clean everything on your phone. Nothing from before will remain. The good news is both ROMs mentioned here have the ms office mobile apps built into them. So, you will get those back. Before you flash, be sure the files you created using the office apps are saved elsewhere (memory card or via activesync to another computer), otherwise you'll be kickin' yourself.

I have a dell axim x51v. Ive upgraded to wm6.1 lennysh A07 and all was fine. I then purchased a cf gps receiver and obviously found that it has no cf support. I then decided to downgrade back to the dell official a06 release of wm5 and install the patch to get cf support. The dell app that i downloaded times out when trying to install it which i presume is because of the non standard image on the axim. Ive also tried doing it via sd update but the bootloader says the dell image is not a valid rom .
Could anyone please explain how i can either downgrade back to the original dell rom or install a new rom (pref wm6.1) that will support my cf gps receiver?

Do you have the A12 SD image files? If not, I found them from HappyMM's post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1376710&postcount=140. I was able to flash back to A12 using these files on SD card, when the Dell installer wouldn't work, for an x51v that I had to return for exchange.

I am using CompactFlash GlobalSat GPS (sirf star III) with TomTom 7 and Garmin Mobile XT (coz they have Mexico maps). Works perfectly with this ROM and Footballs A03 ROM. Also use a Hitachi 8GB CF card in there when GPS unit is not in use and no CF issues.
Do not go back to WM5 unless you tried everything and it didn't work for you.
Thanks to all for your comments, turns out it wasnt anything to do with the roms at all. It was the actual device itself which was faulty, found out after about ten hours of troubleshooting.... sheesh
I would agree, do not go back to WM5 if at all possible. All of the ROMs I have tried for WM6 and WM6.1 have been nothing but positive on the speed of my unit and the stability of my unit.

Does anyone know what I can do to get Bluetooth working again? I tried reinstalling TT again but to no avail.

You're likely just using the wrong version. You've probably been around here for a while so you know how using the search feature can be your best friend.

I currently have a T-Mobile Touch Pro 2(WM6.5) and my current version of Tom Tom,which prevents bluetooth from working , is 7.916.9189.

Don't worry this is some what of an easy fix. Just search tom tom back on the general page and this should get you going. Sorry i can't post the appropriate links since the search function is down for me. But feel free to try it later.
There's an easy way to fix this:
1) install the TomTom that stops bluetooth from working
2) install any DECENT file explorer program that allows you to see the dates on files (total commander, etc etc, there's plenty out there)
3) look in your phones \Windows folder and you will see 2 Bluetooth files that have been replaced by the TomTom install, with wildly out-of date dates (something like 2006, when all the rest of the \Windows files should be dated 2008 or more recent)
4) DELETE them both
5) soft-reset phone ( losing no data)
As the phone reboots, it will spot the 2 missing Bluetooth files & replace them with the correct ones from the ROM, bingo, normal bluetooth service is restored and TomTom still works
I have used this trick on both my old Kaiser and both my TP2S, many times when reflashign ROMS and reinstalling a known good working version of TomTom that had the BT bug, it always works 100%

Hi I renamed the 2 offending files and got rid of the BTTrayCE.exe error but I can't start tomtom it just says not enough memory. Any ideas? (Sorry to hijack this thread btw).
