I used HTC home customizer to change my tabs and I noticed that one of my profiles is "auto" Where would i set auto profiles?
Automatic profile sets volume to Vibrate during an appointment
I never would have figured that out. Thanx!
You're welcome
But does it work? I tried it today. At the time the meeting was scheduled, the icon in the top bar changed from loudspeaker to vibrate. I assumed it was working, but then a call got through and I heard the normal ringtone.
I checked and even though the top bar icon had changed, the phone was actually in "normal" mode, not "vibrate". I set it manually to "vibrate" and then it began working as expected.
I'm using the 4.0 Black&Blue PdaViet ROM for HTC Artemis. It includes HTC Home but it's not the real HTC Touch, could it be that? Anyone else?

Hi all,
I've noticed that since upgrading to WM6 (HTC official in my case - v3.54.255 from the Wiki), my TyTN goes into Vibrate mode by itself. This is even after I turn the speaker volume up, the phone just eventually goes into silent/vibrate mode on it's own. Any suggestions? Is this new ROM have a "smart" ringer profiler that thinks it knows when I want silent mode and normal? Is there a place to change this or turn that service off?
If this has been covered before then please don't slam me, just show me the link. Thanks for your time.
Do you have the HTC Home plugin? Is your ringer profile on "automatic"?

...And also when it goes to 'Vibrate' you are having an active appointment in calendar?
Mine goes into vibrate mode even though i put the "Normal" profile all the time. This usually happens during my appointments but they remain in vibrate mode even after the appointment is over. I'm using Pandora's 7.1 ROM

just stumbled on this thread. I don't use the poutlook to know it's "typical" behavior (use Xpress Mail instead because of Lotus Notes), but that it doesn't go back into audio mode after the appointment seems strange - but then this is M$ stuff so one can't assume too much.
I'd suggest (if you don't get any better suggestions) to try another rom, (many to choose from) and see if they exhibit any different behavior.
Otherwise, I've never had issues with vibe mode, even while using the "non-fixed" version of the 6 button home plugin.
I think one of the HTC Home Pluggin in the reason...
I too had this issue some time back but then I started using one of the latest HTC Home Pluggin which installs on the HTC Home directory(not windows). That solved the problem.
If you can un-install the HTC Home(if not built in to the ROM) then try that otherwise new ROM is the only hope.

Hello, I recently installed htc home on my wm6 8525 (running At&t official wm6) and want to disable the clock that appears on the upper right corner of the phone while on the today screen. I used HTC Custom and under the "clock display" feature i enabled "none". Upon restart the clock gets disabled but part of my signal icon is also deleted so i see just half of the signal icon and a gap where the time used to be displayed at. Is this a glitch? or Is there another app available to try to disable the time? Thanks in advance.
Hi,
Anybody have probs with a Vario II/Hermes and WM6 whereby you set the ringer mode to "vibrate only" in the HTC Home application, but then randomly throughout the day it resets itself to the default 50% on both sliders?
When I check the HTC Home app it still thinks that I'm on "vibrate only" but the icon in the titlebar says otherwise. I can either set the sliders manually, or just press the "vibrate only" button in the HTC Home app to correct it, but I'm fed up with having to do it several times a day.
The speaker is pretty loud on these so it's annoying when I get an email and the entire building can hear it...

1. which HTC Home version are you using?
2. which rom you are using?
3. did you hard reset you device manually after upgrade?
4. try to flash rom with HTC home built if you wish to have that.
Enjoy ~~~~

Hi, thanks for the response! Answers below:
1. There's no version number that I can see - I downloaded it from here though.
2. The ROM is from the T-Mobile UK "upgrade your phone" page - it doesn't come with the HTC stuff on it as standard so I installed them from the downloads posted here. I chose it because it makes it semi-official, and I thought that I'm more likely to get help if I brick the phone...
3. Yup. In fact, for various reasons the device has been reset a number of times, and I've even done a hard-reset and re-installed all the HTC stuff to try to fix it.
4. Is this a known problem then? Do I need a non-official ROM with HTC Home installed to make it work?
I have actually taken to using the main volume control in the top bar to set my phone to "vibrate", but it still has this odd behaviour of randomly reverting to a loud setting. I'm wondering now if the HTC Home app is a red herring, and that something else (ActiveSync? Meeting reminders?) could be overriding my volume setting? I never user the phone as a phone - it's just my email device so there's never a requirement for it to have the ringer volume up higher than "vibrate"!
I am not a programer but I have though of a useful tool if anyone talented could make it work. It would be nice to have a program that would restore WM6 Volumes back to original settings from Mute or Vibrate follwing a present time period.
I typically put my phone on silent / vibrate for meetings and then forget to turn the ringer back on. It would be way cool if I could put phone on mute for a set duration of time (e.g. meeting last one hour so in one hour and 5 minutes my phone would automatically restore the ringer to on status from vibrate / silent.
Anyone know of something like this already? I have searched and cannot find anything.
That's a good idea, I experienced this problem as well.
HTC Home has an automatic setting that will do that for busy times in your schedule and set it back when you're free.
When you have the meeting set on your calendar, selecting the "Automatic" mode automatically sets the phone to silent when you're "busy" and sets it back when you're "free"
Thanks for the input as I am an HTC user and just discovered this a few minutes ago. The issue with HTC Automatic is that some of my meetings I do want my phone to ring so a full up utilization of the HTC Auto ring setting is note the best solution at this time.
If HTC development could add another ring feature for customer ringer off this would be the BOMB! I am an HTC fan.

I haven't actually tried it, but I think if you set your meeting to "free" I think the phone will still ring.
I'm new to Android, coming from WM6.1. I am unable to find info on something I suspect is basic: is there a way to turn off audible notifications, and can I put a shortcut to the setting on a homescreen?
My EVO kept going off last night, seemed like every hour or so, to remind me of someone's birthday. I was too tired to get up and turn if off.
Can I turn those kind of notifications off temp without turning off the ringer?
Maybe someone could point me where to find this info? did a search b4 work but found nothing.
Don't have the Evo in front of me, but I believe if you go to your calendar, click on an event. Go to menu, more, then settings. From there you will have the option about alerts and what not.
Well, yes, thats true. However, that supposes you REMEMBER there is an event coming, which kind of negates the need to put it in your calender in the first place.
With my WinMo 6.1 Fuze I was able to set both the ringer volume and the notification volume separately, simply using the volume rocker on the side of the phone. so every night I would turn the notification volume down and leave the ringer volume alone.
I use quick settings as my default settings from the market for things such as volume and brightness because it allows you to keep it in your notification shade.
if you had that installed you would do as follows >volume control>and then slide the volumes down individually for alerts, ringer, notifications, etc. I think that is what you are trying to do. then you could set it back.
