Shogunmark, is it any better then the other Official AT&T release.
Is this the same Radio ROM 1.48.00.0 that is posted to the Wiki (not sure if radios have build numbers different than the 1,48.XX.X)? I have been running 1.50 but signal strength is not that great and I may want to try 1.48 since AT&T apparently thinks it is the best Radio to use (I assume). If so, I will use the in the Wiki. If not, could someone extract it? Thanks.

well, there was a lot of stability issues fixed... it does seem better, the memory leak isnt as bad but still present... and other than really bloated its ok.. This would probably be really good if it were stripped down (hint hint vp3g)...
and yes, should be the same radio...
I hear an echo Shogunmark " if this New AT&T Rom was stripped down and re-built" VP3G?

My 8525 has a problem should I upgrade ?
Hello, My 8525 is VERY slow to respond. I have hard reset it. Also, I upgraded to the newest AT&T supported ROM (it was bought when it first came out, and had issues). I am still having problems, it is under warranty, should I just send it back or should I upgrade to the WM6 and see if that fixes the problems? Also, can I downgrade if it doesn't fix the problems?
Current specs:
ROM Version: 2.15.502.3
ROM Date: 04/09/07
Radion Version: 1.40.30.00
Protocal Version: 32.73.7020.16H
Thank you for your help

Yes, you can. Full instructions are HERE. Just check for the downgrade guide.
Personally, I would flash it up with some cool ROMs (guides for that are at that sire also). Then, if I had issues, I would put it back to normal and ship it back to them, but I am betting that better ROMs will fix your issue.

Just wondering. I have a qtek 9000 but with an older rom. Where did you get the rom ROM Version: 1.13.49 WWE from? Is it downloadable from somewhere? Is it a qtek rom?
Thanks,

Sorry about that, but it's a non public ROM.

Will the QTEK version of the Rom support Exchange push-mail?
Yes,

Could you tell if with this new ROM version, Universal sends contact name (instead of number) to a BT headset with 'CallerID' display?
New LVSW rom just released! This rom has the following changes from 3-26-2007:
* It has NOT been put through Tadzio's tools, so, no white screens can occur. Also, this means less storage space.
* Fixed WiFi bug
* Fixed A2DP profile
* Added Bluetooth filetransfer
* Added HTC Today screen plugin
ROM is based on build 17736.0.2.0
Screen shots are coming....
Get it while it's hot!
Oh, special thanks goes to LVSW for creating such a cool rom, and of course to my special informant who gave me a heads up about this release.
This ROM is fresh from the oven.. And lovingly provided to XDA by your friendly-neighborhood Elf.
Quit reading this ****ing post and DOWNLOAD it already!
great work. Gotta try this now.
Why this ROM posted not by LVSW
Why this ROM posted not by LVSW. Also can you specify if all fixes for 3/26/2007 LVSW ROM was applied to this ROM?
Thanks

I'm asking myself the same question. Is it really a LVSW release or is it a custom ROM based in LVSW?
I'm so glad people trust me...
It's a LVSW rom. No modifications done by me. Only changes from 3-26 are stated above.
Tadizo tools on the 3-26 ROM caused white screen? I have been using LVSW 3-26 since it came out and have not seen a white screen yet. I will try this new ROM of course but without the extra memory space I doubt it will be a keeper. thanks for a new ROM to play with though!
I'll tadzio it later on and package it up nicely.. This was done *fast*--basically from the original website to here in a few minutes flat
Why release this verion of ROM? I remember Loglas you release a OS only that take care of white screen base on 3-26 LVSW's release.
BTW, thanks for reconstruct the ROM. I am currently use that ROM, thanks again!

I remember that it was released by Olipro. In my case I haven't got the white screen issue (thanks God!) so I prefer the extra storage provided by tadzio's tool.

Information on ROM/OS Upgrade
Hello all.
First of all excuse for my ignorance...but I am new at all this.
I currently have the HTC 8525 (Cingular model).
Device information:
Model No: HERM100
CPU: Samsung 2442A
CPU Speed: 400MHz
RAM: 64MB
Flash: 128MB
ROM version: 1.34.502.1
ROM date: 9/21/2006
Radio version: 1.16.00.00
Protocol version: 32.53.7018.01H
OS Version: WM5
OS Build: 5.1.195 (Build 14955.2.3.0)
I have been reading post after post after post, just to continue down the path of confusion. Instructions and post installations instructions make any kind of upgrade even more complex and difficult - and the posts are sometimes difficult to follow.
Can anyone recommend the version of ROM that I could use with my device?
And associated instructions to upgrade this?
Also, is it worth upgrading to WM6 and if so, what would be the proper way to do it?
I see that the latest version of the ROM out on these posts is:
LVSW 20070405_RUU_Hermes_WWE_3.23.0.6 - NEW WM6 ROM!
is this compatible with my device?
If I can install it are there any additional steps post installation?
or other programs/configuration needed post installation?
Is this ROM include WM6? or is it a ROM for WM6 OS?
I apologize for all the questions, but just as I am enticed about the new WM6 functionality, I dont want to go down the wrong path and do something I wont be able to revert back from.
Any help/insight is highly appreciated.
Thanks.

I have noticed that there are two versions, which is the right one for Cingular 8525?

I realize that your new to this whole upgrade thing just as I was but please this the exact reason why the ROM cookers are pissed off. This is not the place to ask a question like that with all the info thats posted on the Wiki you are setting yourself to be flamed and possibly "brick" your Hermes.
My question is it seems like there are not many details about this ROM release. I thank you for sharing this new ROM with us but please inform us a little more about what is in this OS and Ext_ROM if its the exact same os the 3/26/07 build? I currently use WMB 2.0 but have some issues with such as memory leak and Voice dial not working. Do you know of any issues with this OS? Anything we should be "really interested" in?
@tempena and jmuratalla
see my guide for installing LVSW....this version i have not yet tested so havent written a guide for. the version in my guide is a good starting point.

Excuse me boys and girls but, it's really neccesary to quote all the f**cking message in every answer?
Please let this not turn into a how do I this or that thread.
Noobies!! There are threads that have ALLLLLLL the answers that you are looking for.
There is no need to clutter up a thread where we are trying out certain ROMs. We chime in on the thread to state problems, bugs and discoveries.
Never, Never, Never to ask how to place that ROM on there phone. It is not the right place.
I have Flashed Roms For years and have bricked 2. One even including my TYTN. I brought them back to life by reading and learning and trying things out.
We were all noobies once. There is no shame, but please use the appropriate threads.
Edit: Hey Elf!!! I for one thank you for the ROM. I have been here for almost three years and I never have seen it like this.

LMFAO!!!!!!! This is comedy, but back to the subject. Hey legolas this rom states a wifi fix. Exactly what fix is it?? Is it the bubble fix or something else???
I think there are some different ROM versions for the diamond already.

ROM: 1.34.831.1 WWE
Date: 5/25/08
Radio: 0.93.25.NS16
Protocol version: 52.24.25.08H
It is problematic & slow and I have already had to hard reset twice.
Are there more recent versions available ?
Latest is 1.35.xxx
Date 6/7/08
But it's not availible yet.
Found a post with this info about the poster's phone:

Not really that it's not safe, it just won't upgrade. If you try it you get the "model ID error" and it does a soft-reset. No harm just no upgrade.
Hi guys.
I'm new on these kind of mobile devices. I'm waiting for my touch diamond to arrive.
Question: If the rom isn't upgradeable like new firmwares and such, how is HTC suppose to solve bugs and improve the devices ? If so, what kind of upgrades does HTC provide in the future to improve it ?
Thanks.

It will upgrade all firmware for the same device nationality, i.e. you can upgrade a diamond-HK with latest diamond-HK ROM, or diamond-UK with latest UK ROM. You just can't (at least not yet) load an HK ROM on a UK diamond and vice versa.

Got another question, perhaps only someone that already owns a diamond can answer.. does the English version brings more T9/XT9 dictionaries installed ? I've been searching the forums and it's not clear. Thing is, i ordered the English version since PT won't be available so soon, will i have the Portuguese T9 installed ?
I'm thinking I'm in real trouble with that and from what I've read on the forums it's not easy to add new dictionaries..
Cheers.

To avoid warranty related issues, i would require original ROM on the device. SO before upgrading it to the latest one, one must take backup or simply have the actual ROM somewhere stored ya... hope its clear..
where can read about how to take the backup of the original ROM and then upgrade to the any customized one.
T-mobile NL released a WM6 rom, so if you flash it with that, you'd still have warranty. I think Maarten84 flashed his MDA Compact 3 with that rom before sending it back. That could work depending on the problem you have with it.
I don't know what country and provider you have, but you could use the original WM6 rom as a backup (either from HTC or T-Mobile, Orange, Vodafone etc). The original rom you can download usually after registering your device with the serial number at the site of your manufacturer/brand
I did inquire the same in HTC support here, as per their response the original ROM is not available with them and the same is not posted anywhere on the website. Is there any way i can take the backup from my mobile phone itself.
Can someone address this issue?

If you tell us exactly what device you have I am sure we can tell you where to download the correct ROM. It does not have to be the ROM originally supplied i.e. It can be a later version but must be from the same manufacturer.

Ive just had a warrenty repair done on my phone. I flashed it back to the OG rom using the vendors website and support pages. Had no problems with the RMA.
I suggest you search the vendors website. Unfortunately T-mobile UK has stopped its free upgrade to WM6 from 5. If you are t-mobile UK I can send you the one I downloaded.
Hope this helps
I gave a link to the HTC WM6 WWE rom in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=439718.
You can still find it on Rapidshare

Just click on "rapidshare" on the post above and you will be taken directly to the download of the ROM you require.
I only add this as it may not be obvious to you.

So true. I apologize for the download headache. I'm not sure what happened to the file hosted on MediaFire. It worked a while back when I needed it. I tried to download it yesterday, and I also found it to be corrupt.
Anyways, Chanvi93 is correct, and I missed your asking for 6.1. I just assumed I had read 6.0 Pro since it was the latest, and 6.1 was not made available.
I apologize. If you still want the 6.0 Pro, I will do my best to recover the file for you.

Agreed, many are MUCH better.
But it's always good to have the original on hand just in case of a failed flash. The OEM can return your phone to a usable handset again.
doesn't matter any more, i sold it off and bought a hermes instead

My Hermes is my treasure and you can't have it

That's all good news! Glad it worked.
Hey Supersport,
What's the performance like on the official 6.0 available in your download files?
Is it worth me flashing and testing or does it come with a headache?

No headaches that I know of. It is a little heavy with unneeded software, but it's funnly you asked today. I just flashed it last night to clear a bad flash I had done. It was fun to see it running on my phone again.
Keep in mind, it does overwrite your Hard SPL, so you will need to do that again BEFORE flashing another ROM, it overwrites your boot screens, and it does overwrite your radio with 1.46.70.11. I've left that radio on for a while, and I seem to be getting quite fast GSP acquisition. Could be in my mind, but it does somehow seem different. Also, the OS moved quite swiftly compared to the latest ones I've been messing with. It's back to the OLD Home screen, but you will probably install SPBMS anyways.
If you flash it, and need Hard SPL help, I've got a small download that takes the hassle out of it. It's just Olipro 1.20 and SSPL_TRIN.exe in a zip file, but it's easy to use. It's possible that I MIGHT be able to CAB it up for you, but I have not tried that yet.
Good Luck!
Edit: Remember, the download is large, but it does include NEW IPL, SPL, Splash Screen 1 & Splash Screen 2, ExtROM, Radio ROM, and OS. So, the OS itself is really not taking up too much room. I'll post Free Mem and Space in a few minutes. I'm flashing now...
39.89 Space
28.69 Mem

Hmmm.. sounds like I'll give it a go.
Does it come with an inbuilt Task Manager? (If one has to install a task manager after the flash, it doesn't show up on Spb Shell screen.)
Also, after flashing it, I just execute the Rom Update Utility in your Olipro 1.20 file and that sorts out the Hard SPL for future flashes, yes?
Mattster
Damn, the flash crashed at 5% and the recovery does not work.
My device is stuck on tricolour and will not active sync with my pc, which means I can't flash.
Any ideas?
