If you have the legal version of TomTom on your SDcard then it would automatically install.
TomTom is not on the SDCard, only maps are on the card.
Download it from www.tomtom.com/support

I just Copied the cab file from the CDROM. explore the drive and look for the cab "ttn" Copy it and past to your card. Then just click on the cab on your deVice to reinstall. Afterward, youll need to connect the phone to Tom Tom Home Software to add your device to Your account.

Has anybody succeded in installing Tomtom 5 om BlueAngel with WM5? I was trying the proposed solution from another post where you should put the .cab files on an SD-card and then installing them from there. The result I get is that the the installation of the first cab file was unsuccessfull, nothing else.
I'm wondering if there is any other (working) way of installing the program, and getting it running with the maps.
Any ideas?
I think that TomTom has to provide an update to support WM5.
This should not be a "WM5 on BA" Problem.
I installed it by copying the files to the sdcard and running then from there, once its running, after the initial setup, I choose a map, then it just exits.

Solution in the WiKi
Can't find the solution. Where should I look? URL please !
I got this problem aswell,
I put the cabs onto my SD card and ran them, they all install fine, then upon running TTN5.1 it goes through the wizard then after i select the voice it bombs out.
Most annoying
I unhid the ext_rom using:
[HKLM\System\StorageManager\AutoLoad\TRUEFFS_DOC1]
Bootphase=dword:2
[HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\TRUEFFS_DOC1]
MountHidden=dword:0
At first I saw ext_rom folder with a few files on it ... I tried to copy them to my micro sd card but recieved an error message saying they are write protected... I tried copying those files again to my computer but my artemis hanged... now I soft reset... i can still see the ext_folder with the files on it... then i soft reset again after that, no more files in the ext_rom folder... I decided to do a hard reset but after that Tomtom did not install...
I know I did not unlock the ext_rom prior to unhiding it...
I managed to unhide ext_rom folder again and clicked on properties.. it shows Total space=14.91Mb, Used=6.24Mb, Free=8.67Mb... I still dont see the files in it...
I guess its still there and it just doesnt auto install after hard reset... how do I activate it again???
Pleas help!
Prior to the program disapearing did you update the TomTom software to vesion 6,030 - Since doing this my Artemis refuses to auto install from the ROM following a hard reset, to install I either locate the Autorun file on the memory card, or connect up via the TomTom Home application which should find the device and offer the update/ installation - Mike

Yes I did... the original installation was 6.020... so i updated to 6.030... have you tried Unhiding your ext_rom?
What else is in the ext_rom anyway? is there any important file in there?
No I have not messed around with the external ROM (yet) - as you have TT 6,030 is there a file on your memory card to install the application? - if not simply fire up TomTom Home on the PC with the Artemis connected and it will install what you need - Mike

Yes I did use tt home to reinstall tt navigator back to my Artemis...
So far my artemis works perfect... but still Im not happy with the ext_rom not showing the files...
Does anyone know how to re-enable the ext_rom to install after hard reset???

Sure.
Every time i flash my Hermes, i unlock the extended, and use as storage. After this i install TomTom 6 in extended and works fine for me
Also i install some other soft in the extended (TT6 only takes 5Mb )
What's your problem?
Ok...
i start the installation, tomtom ask me where i'd install
i select extended rom ed then installation exit normally....
The problem is that tomtom is installed ever in normal memory (under program files)....
I'd like to know how to install the MAP-Files into a directory on SD-Card. The TomTom-Install creates many directories on SD-Card root directory. How to prevent this?

Well, seems the version you are using don't allow to install in other than main memory. But the version 6.0.30 i use works fine for me in the extended
Find the CAB for the installation of your TomTom and take a look to the properties with Win CE CabManager.

You can't. Every time you launch TomTom, look and create this files and folders...What version do you have?
Regards.
TTN6, once i found a proggy named appmover, this one can do it, but it was too complicated for me to use.
I flashed B&B 4 to my german O2 Orbit and everything works great except tom tom is not installed (obviously) I noticed that the tom tom files are still installed on the memory card but I can't find a way to actually get it up and running. Any help appreciated
Hi, if you got an DVD/CD from tomtom you need to remove all the tomtom files from your SD card and reinstall it from the DVD/CD on you phone, this worked for me and tomtom 6 is working again, when you don't have the DVD/CD i really don't know what you need to do.
Fill
Not sure
I have the cd\dvd but it only has voices, maps and POI's. Not the program itself. Can someone with an O2 orbit confim how tomtom is restored after going B&B 4??

On your DVD is a program called TT Home. When installed on your PC, copying the maps to the phone is quite easy. Don't need to worry about the location, TT Home knows where to put the files.
You may also download an original image from o2online.de and flash it to your device. You will find ttn.cab in your windows folder. Install it and you have your original tomtom back.

i don't think that tt7 is stable and this why probably tomtom don't sell it !
i have known the same issue last week, and many other bugs like map folder destroyed and today it was impossible to planify trips from gps position.
i think that i will go back to tt6
hi guys you are not right i've 1.56.70.11 and tomtom7 on my trinity and all works fine..

So deinstall tomtom complettly when delete all tomtom folder from device and sd card ( but not the MAP).
Reset the device and install tomtom 7 again.
before start tt7 you copy the voice files in the folder where tt7 is installed
and then you can start tt7.
and see it would work fine.
in order
- flash the radio
- flash the ROM
- install tomtom (don't run yet)
- copy voice into root directory, called voices
- start tomtom
if fail, soft reset your pda, and then start tomtom without starting any other application and see

It isn't the radio that is the problem. The "out of memory" message comes up when there are remnants of a previous version or installation of Tomtom on the device. You need to uninstall the program and remove any trace of it from the registry etc.
Trust me.....TT6 and TT7 work extremely well in Trinity.
to report
on my p3600 running 1.56.70.11 radio + tt7 + chinese IME + other stuff to take up memory
everything works fine ! never had a problem... now radio fix was never fast with my device.. so that's about it

I know it works fine, but since i've changed from wm5 to the first wm6 he never runs anymore tomtom...
then, i've flashed 2 or 3 diferent roms 6.1 and radios... and diferent versions of tomtom with hard reset... and nothing.
now i've do that of the voices folders before run the 1st time and he stucks again...
i guess that with the hard reset no data from instalations remains... or not?
thank you all!!

Where are you installing Tomtom? On the device or on the Storage card?
If you are installing to the storage card then YES there will be left over files from the previous installation. The voices folder should be on the storage card as should your map folder, install the program onto the device.
SOLVED!!
the solution...
just erased a file inside the map folder called mapuserpatch.dat and Mapseting.cfg... anfer the «touch» of the map...
simple thing... now when i put the map version 725.1883 goes fine!
Thank YOU ALL for your replyes!!
