Hi,
I am not sure if this is an issue with the Black and Blue ROMs (I have used both 4.0 and 4.1) or WM6 or even a network issue.
Basically since I upgraded to WM6 my voice mail is working oddly. I am on T-Mobile UK and when I dial voice mail I get a message saying my voice mail number has been sent to my phone. I then get a network text message that asks to be deleted. I have deleted this message and switched the phone off and then back on.
However, when I access my voicemail it says the same message and I still get the text. I have tried to switch it on and off about 5 times with no change.
I can still hear my voicemail but it is a pain in the ass having to listen to the number message every time I call voicemail.
Also I have noticed when I go into the phone application and then close it down it remains in the background. I use SBSH iLauncher and when I check the task manager the phone still shows. It remains there until I select the forcibly close application option.
It never did this in WM5 only since I changed ROMs.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Regards

Have only had my Xda11s for a week and am very pleased with it except for voicemail notification.
I like to get straight back to customers who leave voicemails, but unlike my old Nokia phone which used to leave both a text message AND phone me back several times, my Xda11s has only been leaving text messages which if I am driving, I do not always notice.
I have been into the 901 options and selected "Voice notification" now I get nothing back at all to tell me somebody has left a message (tried it by leaving a message myself).
Any one have any bright ideas why this is or how I can get both a text message and a phone call back from 901 please?
Sorry to answer myself, but having left a second messgae to myself, voicemail did phone back so perhaps it takes 5 or 10 minutes to activate itself.
No text message though, so I presume you can only have one or the other with O2 on Xda's?
Does anybody know if you can have both?
I'm no expert as I don't use voice-mail, but such features are network dependant. In other words, it's the network (O2 or whoever) that calls you back or sends a text, not the phone. The phone merely allows you to change the settings without calling your network provider. If it isn't allowing you to set it up as you wish, you have two options.
One, read your network guide where there will be a list of commands you can use via your phone to change settings (often in the form *# Number number #) or
Two, phone your network provider and ask someone to set up your account to do this for you.
I get voicemail notifications but when I try and connect using my mailbox number i get a recorded messaging saying that they are unable to connection from this network.
Using landline to voicemail works OK. I have called t-mobile up and they've reset my voicemail (haven't told them i've upgraded the phone).
Everything else seems to be working fine. I assume this is a setting issue.
Help!
You need to put an extra zero at the front of the number it calls for your voicemail - for some reason, on WM6, it omits the zero - an extra one puts it back.
HTH
Smiffy
That fixed it. Phew!
Another anoying problem is that the phone no longer identifies the caller from my contact list when it rings. Any ideas anybody.
Anybody had any luck getting the SIP client working?
It appears contacts synched from outlook do not come up as recognized when i get an inbound call.
Created contact on the phone and viola phone number recognized.
I got this problem after installing one of the T-Mobile WM6 test roms, I just dial my own number, that works for me.

Yeah, same thing with me, only I replaced the voicemail number with my own number so it works.
My HTC Incredible is display a voice mail but when I access it, it stated no message available. So how do I remove this from my notification? I cannot seem to get rid of it, it is getting anoying. TIA.
I had the same thing when I first install gvoice on my android.
That is actually a new voice mail on your Verizon voice mail service.
I think I cleared it by pulling down the notification bar and using the "clear" button in the upper right hand corner.
If you feel you need to listen to it, you may have to go to your settings menu, then call menu to re-enable your VZ voice mail... I've never done this and I believe it could take hours before it actually takes affect.. And then you will need to return your voice mail to GV when you're done.
I believe it will take hours because when I installed GV my GV VM took about a day to be default.
I don't see the clear option when I drag it. I will try to change my PocoMail to VZW and back to see if this Wii work. Thx.
I finally figure it out, as Luvit stated, the notification is for VZW voice but since I choose gvoice as default, it always call gvoice. No wonder I have no message. I have to call my VZW vm and delete it everything is fine now. Thx.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.instal new update 1.2t with new apps
2.set up gogle voice for voice mail
I update and flashed decks 1.2t i updated my ratios to the latest started using goggle voice as a voice mail default sign out google voice and then i start having issues not getting text messages and i am able to send them but i cant receive them also noticed an annoying call setting when recieving calls it asks to press 1 to recieve call or 2 to voicemail i tried wiping everything several times and reflashing already 5 times even went back to 1.0 i even try used vr superwipe and try other roms still issue idk what can i do i would highly appreciate your input
Which phone and version are you using?
htc evo 0003
1.2t
latest ratios
I noticed that i could log into goggle voice and get my text messages but i would rather not used it anymore and i cant figure out that answering system thanks guys i would highly apreciate your help
I had the same issue. Went you integrate Google Voice it will automatically intercept your sms, along with calls. If you use a computer and go to Google and sign into Voice you will be able to modify your settings there. That or download the Google Voice app, sign in and sign out. That allowed me to use the native sms app
I tried signing in and out of the app but still doesn't do it anytime someone calls me I slide screen to answer then voice setting ask to press the #1key to answer or#2 to voicemailthis setting is really annoying I can't get rid of it
I am having a problem configuring Voice for my voice mail when I hit to configure the screen goes black for 5 seconds and then pops up "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped"
I have reinstalled and cleared data a few times and have rebooted the phone in between tries.
I'm running rooted stock
Is there anyone else having this or know whats going on
Ya, I don't think it works on ics...happens to me too
If you're looking for visual voicemail I hear the att visual voicemail app works but I couldn't get that running either
I had to set it up on the Google voice website. Under settings phone there should be an option to setup Google voice for a phone number you have tied to your account.
Notifications don't seem to work for new voicemails but I just forward the new message email to a text message.

The OTA update from yesterday almost fixed it I can get through the whole process of setting up GV except it throws an error when it tries to change the forwarding numbers then goes back to the GV setup and lets you skip to the end. I get notifications but it still rings GV like normal instead of going straight to voicemail. It also still says My Carrier under Voicemail Service.
Figured out how to get Google voice working .
ya, tried the att messages app today.. horrible. it froze my contacts and kept shutting down some google app process.
for those who are curious.. google voice works on ICS. took me a moment to figure it out, and really liked having it on gingerbread. go to google voice website. hit settings and then "activate voicemail" it gives you a series of symbols and numbers to enter into your dialer and then it's activated.
BAM.
