Hello Everybody,
I have flashed the ROM of my HTC P3300 (which was in Dutch language and it is now in English) and all works just fine, I have only noticed that most of the time I am not reachable to people who are calling me by phone.
I have moved the SIM card which was inside the HTC to my old (great) Nokia mobile and the problem is gone!
Can it be possible that the new ROM has some bugs which affect the functions of my phone signal?
If someone out there knows about this matter and has a solution for my problem I would be very glad to hear it.
Thanx
Same problem for me
Exactly the same problem for me.
I set the voicemail on/off but still some people cant reach me.
The moment I make calls/SMS then somehow phone is registered with network operator and then I can receive the call. Looks like the phone goes to some mode and lost his registration with the nearest cell of the network provider.
I will be happy if someone can provide solution to this.
Thank you..
I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong place; but I've gone just about everywhere else looking for help...
I'm in the USA; and I've got an O2 Cocoon - I'm trying to find out if it's got a simlock on it, or if it's just messed up.
The major problem is that it absolutely refuses to make or accept calls, texts, mms... anything.
The phone is set up for my network (Unicel) with what I'm reasonably sure are the correct settings. It gets bars of signal, and when I search for available networks, it finds a 2G Vstream. When I have new voicemail; the new message icon even displays on the Cocoon, and after switching the sim to a phone that does work & checking the voicemail, the new message icon on the Cocoon goes away.
It constantly displays "SOS Call Only" underneath the signal bars; even though it's usually getting 3-5 bars of signal, and whenever I try to connect to the 2G Vstream that it sees in Network Connections, or make a call / send a text; it says "Network Failure".
Does anyone think the phone might actually be simlocked, even though it's not asking for a subsidy code or anything? If so; how do I access the area of the phones software where I can input an unlock code once I buy one?
I'd really like to get this phone working; however I don't want to spend the $40 on an unlock code for the thing if I'm not even sure that it's going to solve my problem.
I work for o2 mate, its locked to network you should be able to unlock though

Sweet! That's exactly the type of answer I've been looking for. I've been shooting emails back & forth with O2 support; the one I most recently sent them I straight out asked for the code & explained my situation - if they don't give it to me in their reply, I'll just buy one now.
Chris, Do you know the sequence / code whatever that I have to enter in order to get to where the phone asks for the code?
My only experience with unlocking is a couple of Motorola Razrs; and those won't let you do anything at all with a different sim if they're locked - they just prompt you on startup.
Hopefully deblocage-htc.com 's turnaround time to send the code to me is fast; I can't wait to start using this phone... it's so, awesome.
OK; so after sending deblocage-htc.com about 3 emails asking them how to enter the subsidy code on this phone; they finally responded with one that wasn't an advertisement -
"Dear Sir,
Your phone must ask to enter the Unlocking Code just after entering the PIN Code of your SIM Card"
The phone isn't asking me to enter the subsidy code after I enter my Sim Pin. Lot of good buying an unlock code is going to do me if no one seems to know how to enter the code into the phone
EDIT: Wait, does that mean I just enter the unlock code directly from the home screen of the phone, then?
want to help mate but the info I have is that if you enter a non o2 sim will ask for the code
02 cocoon start up only
hi mates i have 02 cocoon here. the problem is when i turn it on only star up continuesly not booting.
how can i program this or hard reset?
pls help me.tia.............
The phone is definitely not locked. It works just fine with an AT&T simcard borrowed from a friend, but does not work with a Unicel sim. It doesn't prompt me to enter a subsidy/unlock code when I turn it on.
I thought it might not be compatible with GSM 850, because we only get 850 where I live - but when I'm roaming in NY or PA or anywhere in between, and there's loads of 1900 signal as well, it still doesn't work with my Unicel simcard. The phone sees bars of signal, and it knows when I have a missed call or a new text message; but it won't let me call out or receive calls or text messages or do anything useful like that.
Hi Guys.
So received the phone on Thursday, Friday I did a sim swap from my normal sized sim to a micro sim. I waited the whole day but the phone didn't have any network access.
Today when I woke up I I switched the phone on hoping that everything will be fine, thinking the simswap just hasn't gone through yet, still no network access. I took out the swim from the phone and switched with my ipad, the sim was working in the ipad, and the ipads sim also didnt give the phone network access.
In the top right corner it shows full bars in grey, cant make emergency calls or anyhting.
In the about section of the phone, I have ALL the details present, baseband version is there, kernel version is there.
In Status section, network is unkown, signal strenght is -83 dbm 15 asu, network type unkown, service state is out of service, and the rest is also present.
I thought the phone didn't properly register to a network, so went into settings - wireless networks - more settings - mobile networks, but it gives me a insert sim card message.
The phone is reading the simcard fine because it asked for the PIN when switching on.
When trying to make a call I get, it says "Not registered on network"..
So what am I to do? Vodacom can only pickup the phone and exchange it on Tuesday, so was hoping that this might just be a software issue that can be resolved by a flash.
I have tried resetting / hard resetting the phone numerous times.
Its the Note 2 N7105 LTE Version
Any help would be highly appreciated.

If you bought it new dont flash anything and send it back. At this stage you dont need to make things complicated

Great thanks.
I tried this but didn't solve the problem. I am using the same sim that I received from the carrier with the phone they shipped.
I have played around in the menu however, maunally setting the band and so forth, just restarted and started receiving sms, so basically if not for your post I would not have solved this.
Thanks
I have isolated the problem.
In the service menu - UMTS - DEBUG SCREEN - PHONE CONTROL - NETWORK CONTROL - SERVICE DOMAIN
There are 3 options
1 CS + PS
2 CS ONLY
3 PS ONLY
CS seems to be for making calls and sending smses
PS seems to be for data connections (When this is selected, the bars are replaced with a circle with a stripe through)
I Could be wrong with the above, so anyone with experience please shed some light
Those 2 work seperately, but when CS + PS is selected, none of them work? Very odd, anyone know what the issue could be?
anyone?
Ok, so I've been searching all over the forum about the issue I'm having but I'm still not sure of what I can do.
I got this T999L recently, the phone is apparently unlocked (or so I was told and I don't know what method was used) and able to be used in Mexico with Telcel and Movistar. The phone has baseband UVUBMK4 however no IMEI (if I enter *#06# I get " /02").
Now, when I put a Telcel SIM it works fine right away, calls, msg, 4g data, BUT if I put a Movistar SIM it looks like it reads it as I get the carrier SIM services app and I get full bars, but there's no network, no 4g, no calls (not registered on network) and if I go to the mobile network settings I get "Insert sim card to access network services".
Does this make any sense? is there anything I can do?
I'm sorry if I asked something that was posted before, I really tried hard finding an answer in the forums but couldn't find any.
Thanks in advance
Could replacing the SIM fix the issue or does it sound like nothing to do with that?
I have this I317m locked to bell. I am trying to use it on virgin mobile canada. From what I've read, I shouldn't have to unlock it to use it on virgin. Anyway, when I insert my virgin sim card, sometimes it'll say unregistered sim and other times it'll just tell me emergency call only. When I look under status, it knows my phone number and it knows that there is a sim card inserted, but it won't let me connect to anything. It's completely stock and on 4.4.2. It never asks to enter an unlock code when booted up and no combination of any symbols and numbers that I have found on the web results in anything happening through the dialer. I have an unlock code for it and I cannot input it anywhere. I am starting to think that I have a hardware issue of some kind and hope that it can be confirmed with help from you guys. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
So it can pick up virgin under available networks, it just can't register on anything. This time, when I turned it on, it read virgin for a split second on the lock screen then switched to unregistered sim and then to just emergency calls only. It has bars showing up, I just can't connect to anything. strange.
Well, I have it all apart now and figured for the $7.69 it costs for a new sim reader and micro sd reader, I'll give it a shot.I kinda have a feeling that it not the issue though. I'm kinda leaning toward the nand being fried or something like that.
Have you checked that the IMEI was clean?
The imei comes up under about phone and matches the sticker. What else is there to check? It also shows up doing the #*06# trick.
Aha! Checked IMEI. Not clean. Will fix properly now. Thanks.
