Greetings From the Diamond Elite Project Team (currently only Olipro and Cmonex, so, any other skilled devs wanted - please PM Olipro and/or Cmonex, don't PM this account, we rarely check it)
We are proud to announce the release of Hard-SPL for *ALL* Diamond devices, overcoming the new MPU protection on the device.
NOTE: This is NOT a SIM unlocker - it also doesn't unlock Security for other radios. if you need that, GO HERE
As an added feature, the Hard-SPL requires signed code even after flashing... we chose to do this for several reasons.
1) safety... we will begin releasing all available Diamond resources re-signed with our certificate, this means you don't need to worry about flashing something incompatible, if it's something bad, we won't sign it.
2) reliability; If you want something signed, just ask, we will be able to verify that it's not going to be something that breaks the device, as has been the case with the Elf ROM disaster.
We'll be releasing a developer edition in the future; we will continue to maintain the signed SPL as this is quite nice for total and utter noobs afraid of bricking their device.
Flash this now, Go to our separate thread listing Supported ROMs for ROMs you can flash
Installation Instructions:
1) Download, extract to an empty folder.
2) Run RomUpdateUtility.exe, Have Phone Synced with PC in Windows Mobile
3) follow steps, check device for prompts after PC shows loading bar.
4) SPL flashes, job done.
Anyone having problems with the device entering SSPL automatically, please copy SSPLManual.exe to the device and run it. then once the screen is black, run RUU manually.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. do not try to use this SSPL to flash anything else other than an SPL file. it explicitly blocks other flashes anyway. SSPL is *never* a good way to flash OS images
2. INSTALLING THIS WILL HARD-RESET THE DEVICE
Thanks to Walshieau for a **** load of testing!
All Project Donations gratefully accepted
INSTALLING THIS WILL HARD-RESET THE DEVICE
TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS:
- read the instructions.
- read the instructions.
- read the instructions.
- Anyone having problems with the device entering SSPL automatically (your device doesn't even go to black screen), please copy SSPLManual.exe to the device and run it. then once the screen is black, run RUU manually (you run the RUU on the PC, if it isn't obvious).
- if you get connection error in RUU after the device goes to black screen, then try a different USB port, also do not use USB hub, you can also try rebooting your PC, and can try using another PC. read the thread for even more tips that I don't remember now. also you can try unticking advanced network functionality in start menu / settings / connections / usbtopc applet.
- if SSPL-Manual.exe or enterbootloader.exe fails to run (says missing component or similar), try a hard reset of the device.
- CDMA (Sprint or Telus) diamonds need my other hardspl:, head over to: CDMA (not GSM) diamond hardspl - ONLY use this if your diamond does not use GSM protocol for radio!!! otherwise you will brick the device!!!
UPDATE: 1.37 Hard-SPL
for those who need 1.37 due to some screen fuzziness issues on some newer diamonds, here it is with hardspl patches:
- Developer Edition: can flash unsigned code. Version: 1.37.OliNex
- Signed Edition: can only flash preapproved signed code. Version: 1.38.OliNex (of course still based on 1.37).
please see Attachment below for Signed Edition!!
for Developer Edition, see the developer hardspl thread of course.
(use attachment Hard-SPL-Diamond-OliNex.zip to get the RUU package to flash the 1.38 NBH from HardSPL_OliNex138_Signed.zip. just overwrite the NBH file with 1.38 NBH)
I recommend you flash the original HardSPL, as that one is MFG. only flash the 1.37/1.38 if you experience the fuzzy display issue.
UPDATE 2: 1.93 Hard-SPL
(placeholder for now, but you can already download unsigned version in the Developer HardSPL thread!)
if someone's diamond came with 1.93 SPL originally, maybe this HardSPL based on 1.93 will work better than the olders. I have a report that someone has black screen with older SPL's.
but even if your diamond didn't come with 1.93 stock, but 1.37/1.38 doesn't fix screen problems (fuzzy screen, flickering, etc.), it is recommended to try this 1.93 HardSPL.
if your diamond works fine with original HardSPL, no need to flash this one.
IMPORTANT: all in all, I recommend you flash the original HardSPL, as that one is MFG and easier to deal with if there is some problem. only flash the 1.37/1.38 or 1.93 if you have screen issues.
if it was some other version and you still have issues after trying 1.37/1.38 and 1.93, then please let us know.

enjoy! you won't imagine how much work it was for me to get this ****er (SSPL) working
anyway, this has been tested on radio versions 0.91 and 0.93, I don't think it is radio specific, but if you have some newer radio version (haven't seen any yet) and have trouble with running SSPL or flashing it, let us know.
also, the SSPL screen is black, not tricolour, that's just the way it is. only preproduction diamond had it tricolour.
last note: do not try to use this SSPL to flash anything else other than an SPL file. it explicitly blocks other flashes anyway. SSPL is *never* a good way to flash OS images.
Thanx a lot guys, awesome work.
Thanks Olinex
i agree to the idea of olipro, it is good to the community ...especially for new comer who had not muc experience in rom flashing
but i think for developer and some experienced user , a unsigned version is neccessary for daily testing like :
1) if i am cooking a rom and wanna flash into the device to had a real test , i need to wait u guys to sign..u guys may busy and wasting unneccessary time for signing some "beta" rom ...example I made a hermes rom before ..which had chinese build in support, i had made more than 5 nbh for my own testing ....:S .. u can imagine if need signed .. i need to bother "olinex" tooo many time
look forward for a developer unsigned ver
@leofungwai.
can't you just sign this HSSPL code with you own certificate before getting this thing on of course if that's the case? should be straight forwar, really..
also, it should allow for flasing genuine firmwares signed by vendors, meaning hardware vendor's certificate is still must be valid.
And if it doesn't then, what happens if device is stucked in bootloader or doesn't boot into OS anymore? that would make difficult for reverting back to original SPL.

Surely you're not THAT stupid?
testing now
hi all testing now updating soon
First of all great work guys!
I am trying to flash my Diamond from a Windows XP machine. I start the RUU and when the progress bar appears it halts at 0% and after some time starts about a connection problem, my diamond is not going in bootloader mode. So I started my Diamond mannualy in 3 color mode and started the RUU again. Again it halts at 0% and is there now for about 5 mins. Can you help me out guys?
RvBCrS
Great!
And thanks for the TEAM!!!
Just installed it.
Worked.
this makes a Hard Reset on the Device.
Now will try to update with a different rom.
Nadavi.
what is that suppposed to mean? calling someone stupid is already bad but that was my question.
The way I understood, if your SPL code is checking for presence of your certificate "attached" to the NBH, then if the certificate in your SPL code is patched to different certificate, then SPL will not complain about code is not being signed by your certificate anymore. call this stupidity, but I am not going to put something on my device I would not be able to remove with out third party *permission* to do so.
again, I can be wrong. I am not a programmer, but then your explanation is confusing.
Very strange, if I start the RUU updater with my phone booted in Windows Mobile, it try's to start EnterBootloader.exe but that crashes with an exception window!?!
just reset the device and try again. it MUST be done from windows

Thanks olipro for you response, I rebooted my device and did it again with windows mobile booted, waited for device center connection, and again got the exception on "Enterbootloader.exe" very strange it looks like a .NET exception window.. I have a Dutch Mobile edition, don't know if that matters..

yes... patched to a different certificate, therefore, requiring files that you flash to be signed with it.
If you want to get rid of it, you can have a stock HTC SPL signed with it.
Personally I like this because our released ROMs have no SPL in and a dedicated rollback desired for warranty purposes can be used with no chance of mistake

you can't, because the SSPL also requires this custom signing to flash the HSPL...
your point is very good about allowing for stock ROMs.
we actually can have a way to do that
though hopefully this won't last long and the unsigned "developer version" will be available to everyone soon. I strongly disagree with the original idea anyway.

did the screen actually go black (i.e. into bootloader)
WooooooT great job guys!!!!
when you run the new rom from europe then it will boot to the 3 bootolader mode you can see your spl installed and then not mov any more from 0%
I cannot flash my Diamond with a new ROM. I have tried using HardSPL versions 1.23, 1.24, and 1.34,and various ROM's but with no joy.
I have done a hard reset on my phone and setup an active sync connection with my PC. I then run HardSPL, which I get the screen with 4 colours on my phone and then get the progress bar displaying 0% on my phone, but doesn't get past that, the program times out with a communication error.
When I take out and replace my battery my phone still works fine.
Please can anyone give me advice.
Thanks

Dito for me!
Saw this coming
Indeed, not a surprise to see another thread opened by newbies.
Partly (small part though) we might point the finger at the HARD SPL creators and the Chefs.
Too many ROMS with sometimes confusing "signed" or "non-signed" versions (and this is for you newbies) WHICH NEED A DIFFERENT HARD SPL.
Unsigned and Signed ROMS can not be flashed with same SPL guys .
So, start readin these threads about the ROM you want to flash profondly and use SEARCH.
In a few weeks, you'll have to write this message to newer Newbies again.
Maybe I better ask a MOD to close this thread though

The problem is: We get a connection error a while after the black screen during the hardSPL procedure. And the SPL is not updated...
So if you know what the reason is that the device wouldn't enter SSPL automatically (JumpSPL.exe 0x800000 sspl-1.01-reloc-mod.nb)? Mine didn't respond! I try to used another USB port but …same problem!
I tried to run " JumpSPL.exe " directly from the diamond... then the screen turned black (backlight still working good but the whole screen is black)
Thx for your answer!
Well, I had the same problem, and managed to work around it! First of all, I have NO idea why all of a sudden my Diamond would stop going into bootloader mode by itself - instead, all I get when trying to flash is a screen which fades to black, and then eventually the comm error after 5 minutes, with the option to go into recovery mode.
This is what works for me: first of all, make sure you have the right HardSPL for what yoyu need to do. Either flash the one for the signed roms (and the only try to flash signed roms) or flash the one for unsigned roms (and then only flash unsigned roms). But how to flash if the screen goes black and you do not get a connection?
Well, what works for me (and it may not work for you - try at your own risk!), is to put the phone in bootloader mode by holding the -Volume button and doing a soft reset, and then connecting it to the USB cable of the PC. When the lettering in the white part changes from Serial to USB, you are ready to go, and - at least for me - the flashing works.
Don't ask me why, but this is what I did last night to put the .05 radio on my Diamond.

I still cannot get a new ROM on my diamond. When I said it worked above that was only getting HARD SPL on my phone.
When I try to update the ROM it gets to 100% and then says the ROM is corrupt. I have tried with different ROM's and I get the same error

Could you please give the UNSIGNED developers SPL a try?
You only used he Signed version ones as you wrote in 1st thread, and as far as I can feel, you try to flash unsigned ROM's maybe?
Hope you're not bricking your device soon.
Did you posted in the specific ROM thread a specific question on the hard SPL you use vs. The ROM you intend to flash?
Yes, bootlader will always start, but no, it won't go further than giving you an error if no compliant Rom is used.

The majority of these "help me" posts wouldn't be necessary if the information on this forum was a little more accessible - and seriously, the search engine returns so much dross that it takes an age to gather all the relevant info about roms, spls, flashing, cooking etc, etc. And yes, modmydiamond.info is a cool site but the info there is basic at best.
I'm not knocking the work being done here as it's seriously good - I'm a techie from way, way back, so I can appreciate the amount of effort involved - however, you guys make a rod for your own back by not producing documentation that is more explanatory (or just there) to start with.
And yes, I can also appreciate that you're a bunch of dudes doing this for free and for the love of it and not a bunch of technical writers getting paid for your work but you have to try to understand what a newbie is faced with when they arrive at this site looking to upgrade their pride and joy. Confusing and contradictory are two words I'd use.
Peace.
Ade
PS. ceevee369, the "you"s above weren't necessarily directed at you.
Everytime I'm trying to Hard-SPL my phone disconnects and tryies to install a device called "Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM" but doesn't find a driver for that. So there is no connection left between the Phone and the PC and it doesn't work anymore...
Can anyone look if that device is installed on his PC? And if possible upload a driver for that?
Found a way to solve the problem:
Go into bootloader-mode (volume-down + reset) and then connect to the PC. If Win is looking for the drivers you will find them in the folder where ActiveSync was installed. Afterwards you should see "usb" instead of "serial" in the screen on your XDA.
Now soft-reset and proceed as told everywhere...
So my problem was that Win Didn't finde the drivers automatically and i didn't know where to look for them.

Its working now, I used the unsigned SPL. Although when I was using the signed SPL I was trying to Flash ROMs that had been sigened.
I have a Touch Diamond branded by telstra after reading looking through the forum for a while I can't find an answer to a perplexing question ....
Has anyone tried to change the rom on a telstra branded TD to the vodafone rom?
Or has anyone changed to a custom rom with a telstra branded and to what success?
Thanks everyone in advance for help.
While I haven't tried the Vodaphone Rom I have tried a number of other ROM's Dutty's, Swifts, Panosha's Simple, and now Hikari ( i don't like the Tf3d). All have worked well on the Telstra Network. I can't see why it won't work on the Vodaphone network. My nephew's work fine on the Optus network.
To be really honest the only extra functionality you will gain from the Vodafone ROM is the Vodafone specific software and the theme.
If it's just the theme you are after I suggest browsing this forum for one.
Alternatively if you're after the Vodafone ROM for Vodafone SIM... I'd skip that and jump straight onto one of the custom ROMs. The phone performance is a HEAP better than any of the telecommunication company's stock ROMs.
Food for thought.
Im on NextG with Telstra and i have tried nearly every rom here except vodafone.. but the only one flaw with using a unbranded telstra rom is being able to access bigpond.. like with foxtel and all that.. just doesnt pick it up as being a 3.5G phone.
i dunno why.. but i have just put it back to telstra rom and modded it completely myself. if i knew how to take like an image of it i would and post it up here but i wouldnt know one thing about cooking roms lol
I have a Telstra branded Diamond and am using it with an Optus SIM.
When I first got the phone I couldn't get it to accept the Optus settings for Internet access.
So... I upgraded it to one of the cooked ROMS. (Dia Duit and Duttys were tried)
Since then I haven't gone back to the standard ROM and enjoy the better performance.

If you're talking about the Bigpong 'free to browse' page being different the all you need is to change the 'custom user agent' setting in Opera... see here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2688822&postcount=260
But anyway... to answer the OP, I've flashed a stack of ROMs from here and am currently happy with CT's latest (HD version). Just remember to keep the original specs (Radio & ROM version no.s) in case you need to revert for warranty.
thanks for all the help
thanks for all your comments
I bought the touch diamond second hand, and didn't realise till after I'd parted with the money it was branded (HUGE newbie mistake) but I haven't bought a new phone for 6 years since I got the Nokia 6620.
I use a vodafone sim, and have it working pretty well, just the last lot of telstra locked stuff annoys me. Thanks to this fantastic forum I have been able to change and unlock most of it. Biggest thing is some things just won't work on it, because the current Telstra rom is 1.38.841.5 (vodafone rom is 1.96.XXX.X) and experience a fair share of the modding apps & cabs have problems or simply don't work.
I was thinking of the vodafone one simply because I'm with them. Also when I was first trying to unlock it talked to HTC and they said I couldn't use the vodafone rom on my telstra branded because the hardware in the telstra one is different to the vodafone one.
Thanks for the help, can anyone suggest the best custom rom, & what else do i need to change roms? I've got a bit of a IT background, just not with phones.
Really love this little phone, and I see potential for tf3d, but long way of modding to get it as I want it.
Thanks again everyone.
I have a similar question, thought I'd save wasting a new thread and post it here.
I've had a Telstra branded Diamond for a few months now, using it with a 3 Mobile SIM, and have had no worries until a couple of days ago, when I started roaming, and haven't been able to reconnect to the three mobile network since..
Any ideas??
The only question regarding Telstra branded Diamonds is returning to original SPL 1.38 for warranty reasons..
just one more thought
another question or two...
If I upgrade to another custom rom will I still have to unlock it after the hard reset?
I've been looking and think I've found the rom I want, but can't find a definitive link for hard spl. I've read the thread that everywhere directs me to and the links that I think are for the unsigned hardspl has the headind stock spls, or am I just misreading this.
Also does anyone know if CT 6.4 is signed or unsigned?
Guys - I understand the confusion surrounding upgrading and flashing ROMs as it was only recently I was in the same position.
So in an attempt to make it a little easier for those reading here I will pass on what has worked well for me...
1. Flash HardSPL as downloaded from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=93362&d=1213719705 (it's unsigned but don't worry about that... it saves headaches if you want my opinion)
2. Download the ROM of your choice (as stated earlier - my preference is currently CT's v6.4HD... fast, stable and HD, what more do you want?)
3. Once you have the ROM, extract the .nbh file and rename it to DIAMIMG.nbh and copy this to the root of your internal storage on your Diamond
4. If you're ready to flash (meaning you've backed up whatever you wanna save) then hold the vol down and back button and press the reset button together until you see the tri-colour screen... you're then in the bootloader
5. The phone will search for the .nbh file you placed in memory and ask you to press the power button to confirm you want to flash... obviously you want to do this so sit back while it flashes
6. Once done, reset the phone and perform a hard reset (this is recommended by most ppl although I haven't always done it and never had any issues)
Now enjoy setting your phone up with a custom ROM...
If you want more detail then I strongly suggest you search around and read... it takes time and effort but it's definitely worth it if you want to flash with confidence...
Cheers
not as easy
Sorry if anyone read this orginal post just getting jitters when something went wrong with hardspl flash.
But a soft reset later and its still works. But it raises the question if something bad happens when flashing the hardspl and bootloader doesn't work what can be done apart from throwing phone away?
I assume as long as the bootloader works you can manually redo incomplete rom install?
Something going wrong with hard spl install is my biggest worry, it was a nats ear from happening a little earlier so I'm asking these questions.
Oh & last thing with CT's 6.4 rom what is the real difference between original TF3d and HD? How is the increased screen resolution handled? Do you have to scroll down for the area I cant see, or is it cut off so you can not access it, or is it squished to fit the smaller resolution?

As long as you can access the bootloader you should be able to sort out the phone... personally I've never had an issue with flashing (and on average I've flashed my two Diamonds (a 130 and 100) an easy 30-40 times).
My preference with flashing is to do it from the internal storage (seems the most logical in terms of reliability - and is also by far the fastest) but I'm not sure if HardSPL can be done that way - if it is possible I'd be strongly recommending it - USB connections are just too dicey for something that serious.

Well it done.
A little easier than I was expecting but just as concerning, but over now.
Finally went with CT's 6.4 Original, I can always change to the HD or just add one of the HD add ons.
Everything is running smooth and well. Finally all the testra crap is gone.
Thanks to everyone for their help and kind advice.

Like the title says this is my virgin flash. So what do you guys think should be my first ROM? I've looked at a bunch.
Looking for stability and style.
Just to get this correct I need to unlock my phone even though it's att and I'm using att. (Should I just unlock the CID or both)
Then I need to install HardSPL 7.1?
Then flash the ROM I choose.
Then load APPS as needed?
Thanks for the help!
Hardspl v7 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722
I would unlock and supercid http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293665 then I ran hardspl again just to make sure, because unlocking changes the bootloader.
Then you should be good to go. Hardspl will help you in case you get a bad flash or bad rom, it's easier to recover. Supercid will allow to flash unsigned code (custom roms).
Looks like your on the right track, I'm just not sure where you got v7.1 for hardspl? That's why I included the links.
Also, "any rom you choose", but only from the Hermes forum. Flash a rom for another device means instant brick and you may not be able to recover it.
Hard SPL is a safety net only, there are NO guarantees you won't end up with a permanent brick, Hard SPL or no...
Most times you have to do something REALLY dumb to end up with a total brick but there is a miniscule chance, especially if you are playing around with the radio rom.
Happy flashing...
It was late last night and I couldn't remember if it was 7 or 7.1 lol. I'm charging the phone now. Gonna make sure it's nice and full then I'm gonna give it a shot. Thanks to you both for the help. I just needed to hear I was going about this the right way. I think I'll try one of Schaps ROM's first then try one of Josh's and see what I like about each. I've only got about 50 pages in on each so I'll read alittle more while the phone is charging. Thanks again!!
Oh wanted to ask also is there a Page or sticky just for Apps, skins, themes, and such or do I need to know what I'm looking for and search it?
Dang I thought my other phone had a microSD card in it.....turns out it's M2. Guess I'll stop on the way to work to pick one up. Non SDHC 2gb or less! Another question when it states now copy this to your phone....What file do I copy it to? (I'll head back to the Wiki and see if I can find that myself but figured I'd ask).
copy the RUU_signed.nbh and rename it hermimg.nbh the exe file is the flashing utility, and you don't need it if your flashing via the sd card.
make sure the card is formatted as fat32 (not fat).
Ok I did it the RUU way without the SD card. I'm now at 2.10.01 so I'm good. Now off to work and will hit the unlocker next. Thanks for the help!!
Ok unlock has been completed now I'm going to run Hardspl again. What about the radio I see that is has changed. Should I change that back to what it was at some point?
Ok I've done my first ROM flash wow! I grabbed Schap's WM6 Pro 4.31. I'll try it out and see if I like it. If not try another. Thanks again for helping me thru!
If you wish to risk changing the radio, do so but only if theres a problem. If the radio rom flash is interrupted, you will almost certainly have a brick on your hands.
Use the sd card method to flash so you then minimize the amount of problems you may have.
Remember though, if the radio rom is working fine, don't touch it....
Cheers...

I would unlock and supercid http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293665 then I ran hardspl again just to make sure, because unlocking changes the bootloader.

Ah, cool! Thanks, vp3G! I guess I took all the info wrong. Reading the 2 threads it wasn't clear. I guess my method worked though! haha
Yea, it's all quite confusing... Hard-SPL ended up negating the need to use pof's unlocker. Olipro is a friggin' genius (as is pof).
So all I needed to do was Hardspl and I would have been good to go? I have another hermes I'm doing for myself. I do find I'm not getting very little service if not none at all in the house. I use to get 3 or 4 bars. Should I change the radio? Does the radio change with each ROM loaded?
You can try going back to the radio that you originally had, just do it the sd method to minimize the chance of something going wrong.
You could compare the difference between the 2 hermes.

True, but if you wish to sim unlock then you still need Pof's unlocker.
I have to admit I'm getting there myself LOL. It really isn't that hard after you do it the first time. Some things I got stuck on (Pure newbness).
Some ROMs are compressed with .rar and .7.....I found you must download a unzipper/compressor to extract the files you need. I used Winrar some use 7zip. I'm getting there. There is soooo much info on this site. You find that you search for an answer and you get a page of answers with 3 different ways to do it LOL!
We have all been there at one point, too!
When I first brought my hermes home and it was still locked to the at&t network, I was so worried I was going to break it.
Lots of reading, and lots of tinkering later, and I am working on my own rom. Granted, I didn't port it, but I have done so much tweaking that I don't think anyone could tell where it came from.
Funny thing is, I still keep learning so much more. I think it's like my other hobby, ham radio, I don't think anyone can try everything! It seems to go on and on.
Ya know you gotta love the internet LOL. I've learned about so many things (mostly due to them breaking lol). Here's another question for you guys. For those who have Josh's 6.1 ROM. Where is the lock unlock button??? I see the lock device setup for password protection but I don't see a regular lock the screen so I don't make but calls button. LOL I'm gonna try to load his S2U2 thing when I figure out how to do it.
You can add device lock to the today screen under settings>today (at least it should be there), but if your using manilla I don't have a clue lol

lol if you're a smart kid you wouldve flashed to a custom rom with m2D on it.
Jk. I've had that problem before where i couldnt add programs to the "launcher page" of manilla as well as having issues adding favorite people to the peoples tab.
I would try 1 of 2 things.
1) try a different version of manilla 2d for example if you used version 21 try version 20.
2) BUT i would highly reccommend using a custom rom with manilla 2d. Why? first off we have great chefs (people on this forum who make great roms). They optimize the rom (or basically the operating system for your phone to run more efficiently --> FASTER)
I would suggest NFSFAN who makes vogue roms. He also added other mods that are featured in the touch pro and touch diamond. Cant go into detail here but if you need help flashing to a custom rom you can pm me

1) You should upgrade your radio --> maybe 3.42.30
honestly the easiest way is to use this utility from htc. This upgrades your htc touch to the newer windows mobile 6.1 with GPS enabled and Rev A for faster data downloads. http://www.htc.com/us/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=76&act=sd&cat=all By doing this it will upgrade your radio. But note: this is not the only way to upgrade radio its the simplest way for newbies 2) You need to unlock your phone
This is the Unlockerhttp://rapidshare.com/files/113951076/Vogue_unlocker_MFG_2.31.exeIf you need instructions here is where i got it. Just read we all had to read to figure it out. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=203703) After doing that you can finally install a custom rom.
I suggest this one. Here is a very good and stable WM 6.1 Rom with Manilla 2D aka Touchflo 2D incorporated in this rom/os made by NFSFAN: http://74.53.45.2/%7Eevadmin/nfsfan/Public%20Releases/Sprint/NFSFAN%27s%201.12%20Sprint%20ROM.rarThere are 2 ways of flashing your phone...actually any windows mobile phone for that matter. 1) Flashing by your micro SD card or 2) flashing through your computer via USB cord
Flashing Through microSD card
I Personally Like this method because it works 100%. The usb method sometimes has errors with active sync connection. Basically you download the rom (provided above) and thers a file called RUU_signed.nbh For the Sd card method you have to copy that to the root of your microSD card and rename it to VOGUIMG.nbh. Please note that you shouldve unlocked your phone by now and you shouldve backed up everything from you fone/sd card to your pc because everything will be deleted. Now after the VOGUIMG.nbh is on the root of the SD card, you now press and hold the power button on your phone AND press and hold the camera button on your phone at the same time --> keep holding it and then insert your stylus into the reset button. KEEP holding it until you get a 3 color screen red blue green. ANd follow the onscreen instructions.
Flashing via USB cord
If you flash by this method, with the rom provided above, NFSFAN has provided u with a .rar of all the stuff you need to flash. Just unzip/unrar it. In there theres a file called ROMUpdateUtility.exe. open that. Make sure you plug in your phone and have an active sync connection. that program u just opened has onscreen instructions. DO NOT REMOVE YOUR PHONE FROM THE USB CORD AND HOPE YOU DONT HAVE A POWER OUTAGE WHILE DOING THIS BY USB CORD. This method is the easiest way to flash...but easy to me is subjective and it may not be easy for all.
Anyways after its done whether u flashed by sd card or usb cord...it takes a while to start up dont panic. YOu shuold see that screen where u have to align your screen... after that ur phone will perform a customization let that **** run do not cancel.
intimidatorx31 thanks for the amazing guide! If anything, it should be stickied at the top to help all newcomers here. Well done.

By CLARO, are you referring to CLARO SAC, as in CLARO is your cellular carrier/provider?
If CLARO is an app its not one Ive ever heard of for unlocking HTC Vogues and a google search comes up with it being a cellular provider NOT an unlocking software to flash custom ROMs to your phone and the only thing I find close to unlocking a phone and CLARO isnt even for the HTC Vogue but rather a V220.

Claro runs all the CDMAs in this country, and Viva is another competitor,
btw i mean claro by this http://claro.com.do/
and they unlocked my phone and even had their custom Rom which, apart from being slow had a hideous theme
and i've never unlocked a phone by myself
what is the purpous of unlocking?

Unlocking the phone is what allows users to flash a custom ROM onto them other than the locked, standard ROM from the Carrier we buy them from.
So your saying the carrier CLARO has unlocked the phone? can you verify this to be certain, if not check with them regarding flashing of a custom ROM and check out THIS for more information regarding unlocking and relocking your phone for custom ROMs
As far as you being a "foriegn" (at least to me as Im in the US and my experience and understanding of ROMs and Unlocking comes from use on US phones) you may want to double-check your phones state before going to far
