Hi,
I just erased by mistake the Comm Manager from the Launch Tray. I´m trying to add it again but Comm Manager does not appear in the program list. Can anyone help me? My ROM is Faman 4.02 Spanish
Many thanks in advance
same
same here, I deleted it and can't put it back the original.
You still can put back the link but not the same icon anymore
How can I put back the link?
I apologize for my ignorance. Thanks.
Hi,
the list in the Home will offer you all those applications which are displayed unter Programs. You need to create a shortcut for CommManager.exe under /windows/startmenu/programs (or your localized version)
Launch Tray: I'm not familiar with a MS component of WM6 or WM5 called launch Tray. Do you mean the today screen? If so check in settings - today - items - and check the Wireless if it exists there.
Not sure what Lost_in_translation means by home. HTC Home? The launcher from HTC home is so easy to use I cannot imagine that anyone would not know how to use that to add an application.
Finally if you mean the funny round icon next to battery, screen orientation etc - you need to make changes in the registry. Find out what the today screen item is called - then search here: http://www.google.com/advanced_search?q=+site:http://forum.xda-developers.com&hl=en&lr=&as_qdr=all
for thread that will give precise details.
Hi,
just created the shortcut in the Programs folder that allowed me to add Comm Manager to the Launch Tray. By the way, with the original icon.
Many thanks

The only thing I would like different is if it didn't open up the comm. Manager to actually switch it, if it made the change right from the home screen it would be perfect, anyone know of something like that???I found something called cicleBT that work well however its not on the Today screen home page, I have the HTC home plugin and can put it in the app launcher and its cool. Any way of making it so it works as a plugin on the home screen.

Nice! Haven't seen this one before.
can this be changed to be a plugin
Just want to see if there was a way of making this so that it was a plugin on the today home screen say just under the HTC home plugin aligned to the left side and have my calendar show up to the right of it??? A nice little icon there that is large enough to use my finger to push???
Anyone know how to do a mod like this??
Thank you I wish I knew how to do it, any help would be appreciate.
Cheers!!
are you lookin for freeware? b/c if NOT then spb phone suite has today screen components, 1 of which is like a button that displays a sub menu allowing you to turn phone, bluetooth, and wi-fi on/off and also flight mode. you can even tap and hold on each to access more options (ex: bluetooth modes, vibrate etc.) i dont want to sound like i'm selling this to you, but it's a great app. maybe the 1 app i install over every rom.
more info here
more screens here
search for a program called pockettoolman its freeware.
yeah freeware
Definately looking for a freeware to do this, not really wanting to pay for an icon on the today screen. I found this cab but can't get it to work looks like what I want but it don't work
HELP needed any good coders...............
I have found a quick launcher on the web with 5 icons to launch apps. Is there any coders out there that can manipulate this for me to 3 icons, bluetooth toggle on/off, wifi toggle on/off, and phone toggle on/off, justified to the left side of the today screen, again I am using an att 8525 with the att rom. Any help would be appreciated. thank you all in advance.
cheers,
attached is the cab for the quick launcher.
I am beating this to death
I am sorry to keep on with this, this is the last CAB that i will upload I really hope someone can help me with building what I want but til then this little plugin will suffice. Please try and help me with what I described above in the other posts. thanks.
the plugin you want CommCEntric v1.11 (hell I want it if someone can make it into a today plugin for pocket pc) is an xml file. unfortunately you need some type of a homescreen to view it. I dislike the homescreen concept because they take up so much space, but I love the look of comcentric)
hopefully anyone technically inclined can make it into a cab that will make it viewable on a pocket pc screen (not just smartphone)

Has anyone figured out a way to make the commcentric app work for pocketpc??? Would love just to have the Bluetooth icon on home screen and be able to toggle just bluetooth on/off....any help here would be appreciate, basically bluetooth icon on the left with my calendar plugin showing up next to it on the right...

The easiest way to do this is to use cLaunch (http://pachome1.pacific.net.sg/~welic/claunch.html) which allows you put to icons onto your today screen. It's really configurable so you can just have a couple of icons, or your can have multliple tabs with many icons on. You need to play about with it to get it working how you want, but it'll do what you're looking for.
For the Bluetooth icon, here's a useful utility that toggles Bluetooth on and off without opening CommMgr. Copy it into Program Files on your phone and cLaunch should be able to see it so that you can have the bluetooth icon on your today screen.
An even simpler method is to stick BTSwitch in your Program Files and then map one of your soft buttons to it... No need to take up any screen real estate with pretty icons!!

Where exactly do I navigate to to put the BTSwitch so I can map it to a button already on my phone, what a brilliant idea! Thanks, I just don't know what to do with it. I have placed it in several locations and went to map the button but can't find the file....I am dumb or am I missing soemthing.
Thanks and Cheers!

Sorry, should have been more specific!
Put the BTSwitch.exe file into Windows/Start Menu/Programs. You can then use the standard Settings > Buttons method to map one of the hardware buttons to the BTSwitch programme.
You can also map one of the soft buttons at the bottom of the screen, but will need a separate utility to do that... (eg Schap's Advanced Config : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317070)
Also, have a look at these threads for other ways of changing your soft keys:

Hi,
I had the same question, and someone did answer what you and I where looking for.
It was answered by: slavik @ www.pocketpcfreak.com
The software is called: HTC BT Quicklink
His link was: http://rapidshare.com/files/42718525/HTC_BT_Quicklink.cab
There is no manual, but play with it and you will figure it out...
Good luck.
Guys, I running the aforementioned OS and if you go to Celetask and hit (1) A and then (7) New Task and then Path and scroll down and select TextNotes it launches HTC Quick Notes for Smartphones which is awesome and I was able to put a shortcut in Start Menu via Resco Explorer but when I try to use Chome Configurator to setup a new panel via Application Launcher it does not show up, this is driving me crazy, crazy, crazy, and I even found a killer icon to setup a Sliding Panel but I need someones expertise on this matter, I would greatly appreciate some tutoring on this issue. Check out the icon below, isn't cool hi-res from www.iconspedia.com
I dont understand how you can not create a action url to text notes.
Create a new page under settings or any another panel.
\Windows\textnotes.exe
I've tried but it does not show up in the listed applications under Chome Configurator, I double swear ! but you can teach me how, please
Thanks, I got it, I did not know you can use the other options to select whatever you want.
Hello guys,
After a long search on the web I can't find the answer to "How to create a control panel shortcut on Windows Mobile".
Out of the box, our Rhodium are packaged with a "Settings" shortcut in the start menu which links to the Settings tab of Manilla. I find this annoying, if i want to go to the manilla settings, i use manilla not the start menu.
So I want a direct link to Windows' control panel. I've seen many ways to link to a specific applet, but not the whole control panel.
Anyone can help ?
PS : Also I'm looking for the HTCSettings.exe file stored in every Rhodium (WM6.5 version)... I've accidentally deleted it :/
Thanks !
I am not sure I understand the question, but I think what you want is to be running TouchFLO instead of Windows Default.. If that is correct, the solution is simple. Click Start>Settings>ToDay>Items>TouchFLO 3D>OK>X and you should have it. What you want is to be running TouchFLO instead of Windows Default.
Hope that helps.
what he is saying is that he wants to got to the control panel or "settings" from the start menu, when you hit start and then settings it takes you to manilla settings
What annoys me is that the Bluetooth and Today screen prefs are ONLY available through the Windows CPL, things like QuickMenu don't see them..
You got is cs400, that's what I'm looking for.
Someone can send me the original HTC Settings.exe (Located in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs) ?
Okay guys, I figured out how to solve this problem by hanging around in the registry !
How to change the "Settings" icon in the Start Menu to make it open WM's Control Panel rather than Manilla's settings panel ?
- First go to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs and remove (or move) the file HTC Settings.exe
- Then go to the registry \HKLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo and change the value HideSettings from 1 to 0
- Reboot your device, it's done !
I am trying to change the 'Settings' button in the Start Menu to open the WM Control Panel instead of the Manila settings, however, the \HKLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo key does not exist in my registry. Is there another way to link to the Control Panel? Thanks!
WM control panel shortcut
I would appreciate anyone telling me how to make a shortcut that links to the WM Control Panel.
Thanks!

Thank-you a million times! Just installed something that crashed my HTC Sense, and couldn't for the life of me work out how to get to Remove Programs so I could un-install it! I now have my phone back, without having to go down the hard-reset route which I'd feared was my only option.
you could do as htc intended and clicked "all settings" on the settings tab for those manila doesnt cover.
Which would have worked brilliantly....had I been able to get to the settings tab in the first place.
With Sense freezing, I had to run the 'change my background' option from 'Getting Started' to get into the Today options and disable Sense. Then use the tips in this thread to get the Settings folder back on my Start Menu. Normally I would have used the All Settings option, but couldn't in this case, and it's funny how much you don't realise is missing from a start menu....until you need it!
