I have an HTC herald running WM6. I was wondering if it is possible, as the title suggests, to use the music view tab on the 6 tab HTC home plugin to view the status of HTC audio manager.
I know it works with WMP, but i was wondering if it could work with HTC audio manager, which is preferred over WMP. or at least for me.
bump.
Just thought i'd clarify somethings also.
I mean the little music tab on the HTC HOME plugin, the 6tab one. Normally, it runs off WMP.
THanks
Hope you dont take this the wrong way but Most of the guys and gals here are interested only in upgrading and modifying their devices' ROM. Youll get more replies for this kind of queries in the development and hacking forum.

anyone where i can get this cab to install on my hermes?
Is this the one you mean?
Is a very nice plugin but running WMPlayer and this plugin 15MB of Ram
If Someone can hack it to just a today player will be better.

Was that sarcasm??
Thanks to everyone for sharing the available plugins
Really appreciated !!
Im not 100% but I think you can dl an audio codec for CORE that uses .5mb. if anyone is interested check out htc-devs
Is there a consensus as to which plugin is better?
And can someone please post screen shots of the plugin?
Thanks.
I prefer the HTC plugin myself. I finally got the SPB one to work, but it would cause my TyTN to hang all of the time requiring a soft reset. And even then, sometimes it would fail to boot, hanging on the today screen. No hanging or wake-up problems with the HTC version.
Anybody can help me???

Of course hermes can do the whole touchflow thing. We have a good touch screen that can record touch's, swipes drags etc.
The current problem is that the "touch" part of the current incarnation is made for a computer with a different type of screen. so just copying the files over doesnt work. it's like tyring to run a ATI tech demo on a Nvidea card. just cos both systems have XP, and have similar capable hardware, the calls from the software to the hardware are differnt.
However what I am really confused about is why anyone wants this nonsense on there ppc. Its basically a animated gif spawning over 3 screens. Its a shoddy gimik which has no true tie in to the workings of your ppc's apps.
Currenty problems regarding slowdowns system crashes etc is purly down to poor coding for this 1/2 baked interface.

I like this site more of late. With so many new people, it's good for at least a laugh or 2 per day

The part that is nice is making the UI more finger-friendly as opposed to stylus-req'd. E.g. I most like the ability to scroll thru my contacts without having to hit the scroll bar on the right. being able to "drag" the screen is what I want.
Thus, I don't care about the TouchFLO as much as I do projects like the ContactManager prog that someone developed. I want the programs (browser, contact mgr, music playlists, etc.) to be done via finger dragging, than stylus-to-scrollbar...

Which is the reason why the HTC Homeplug is so useful.

And I have that working, in color, no less. I'm wating for the 6th button so I can drop the audio manager today plug in and have it in the same HTC Home space.
Seriously has anyone here used a iphone.. this htc touch is nothing similar.
I can understand the desire to use the ppc without a stylus, however this does not allow it. It's not even a pretty front end.. jerky 8 frame black and white fixed animation which isnt adaptive to personal modifications, which currently runs like crap on a 400mhz system.. c'mon..
The nicest feature of the iphone is the media side. "touch flow" which the htc touch doesnt even attempt to do.
incase you havent seen the htc touch in action.. this is it... Amazing.. sigh..

As soon as you decide which of the 3 limited screens you desire back to the regualr wm5/6 screens.
If the htc touch included a special touch media player that scrolled through your images, music, videos, contacts, emails, sms's, games, had a decent dialer/text/email interface..etc.. maybe it would be comparable to the iphone.. not neciserially in design, just function.
Dont get me wrong I love my hermes. It's versatility is what makes it great, I wouldnt trade it for a iphone.. well maybe I would.. just to sell it and get another ppc & holiday.
Now we have good stable operating system, sure a few tweaks here and there are needed, that shall allways be the case.. we should all poll idea's to design a great interface, and not waste time over a useless 3 screen cross device hack that doesnt really work properly.
Its not a easy task, but there are a fair few creative and bright sparks in the xda devs community. Starting a fresh is the way togo.
A nice quick introduction to the differences between the interfaces.. plus funkeh music.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mk3wGFuQjC4&mode=related&search=

Everything you suggest can be achieved with buttons and scroll wheel - no stylus req'd.
Home plugin is a performance killer and unreliable.

Stuck on splashscreen after Touchflo install
Hi experts,
I'm currently running WM6 Black Satin since a few days and I'm allready addicted to playing with all kind of stuff. I came across Touchflo and installed it. When I did a softreset, I couldn't get my Hermes device past the splashscreen. I removed my storage card and and did another reset: same result, stuck on splashscreen. I'm not really interested in getting Touchflo to work on my device, I was just curious. But now I just want to get my device working again. So what do I do? Any advice is welcome

This is a good idea for start, found over on Lakeridgesoftware's wrbsite (the people who make Wisbar)....
wisbar is the untimate interface modding tool for the pocketpc but this 'itask' shows the potential for a new xda-developers interface to be developed incorporating all the best ideas we have.....
Hi guys, new to the site. T-mobile is my carrier and I recently CID unlocked my Dash and downloaded HTC's version of wm6. I love the way it handles compared to T-mobiles, however, I frequently used the wmp homescreen plugin that came preloaded on Tmo wm6. I had a buddy send me the T-MobileDefaultBlue.home, the media player appears to be in the registry, but there is no way to load up the home screen plugin for wmp. I've read some directions on xda about some registry editing which I have done before (just some key remapping) but I am a little unfamiliar with it. I tried a cab file too but couldn't get it to work. Anyone wanna help?
have you seen this:

Hello guys and gals,
I love my trinity and am a certified ROM junkie
I've recently been using the excellent TouchCommander and slithers cube, just wanted to know if the HTC Album now works with Ftouchflo (accepts all the gesture's) can we get the official cube working??
The HTC Album works fine on the trinity, all gestures are working fine.
wm5 or wm6 ?? Some bugs on WM5
About touchCube, i've made a try yesterday with some indications for another machine (hermes i think), it's not very stable and works kind of slow.
I'm using uDk Rom 6.1 R1 WWE (WM6)
what gesture doesn't work?
Coz I'm using HTC Album where all gestures work... (zoom/rotate etc)
Yep all the gestures work on mine.
I was just thinking if Trinty now recognises cresent, circles etc then surely we can get the touchflo cube working

I think ukm700user is referring to that he installed
FtouchFlo
HTC Album
Touch Commander
right.
I tried above config b4. somehow the Ftouchflo will monitor and controls all screen movement, especially when you slide a long line across the screen and it will trigger another application. Thus resulting the Touch Commander not responding, like hang hang. I only use TC and HTC Album, I skip Ftouch. cool now... and working. just that my rom is low now... ;<

I have all 3 installed and haven't had any problems
I find that in TC, if you always move your thumb from the center of the screen (instead of from the edge), then it won't have that problem...
Ftouchflo also allow an "program exception" function where you can exclude TouchCommander.exe I believe.
Hello all!
So, despite the fact that I have an HD2, with it's massive screen and awesome internals, I haven't liked using anything other than the really old-school Today Plugins. Sense bugs the crap out of me, and I'm still not convinced on Titanium.
I use most all of the standard Today Plugins that come with WinMo, but if I'm using HTC Messaging (which I would like to stay with), it doesn't come up in the usual 'Messaging' plugin. Would it be possible for someone to throw together a plugin that fits in with the other standard ones, and just works with HTC Messaging? Or if anyone could point me to some helpful links, I'll give it a shot.
Thanks!
Or, here's another idea. I use Windows Live exclusively on my device, and as you can see in the screenshot, I use the Windows Live plugin for my email. Would it be possible to mod the existing Messaging plugin to show results and link to the HTC Messaging app? Seems like that would make life easier.
