Hi all,
I'm just hoping some you who are more familar with the trinity can give me a few pointers... to save me time and less confusion, thanks in advance and much appreciated.
I'm currently using the Australian version of Windows Mobile 6 on my trinity...
but i'm NOT sure how to get GPS running (if it's is possible), please tell how to set it up and what software etc, i require. (I'll be using the GPS in Australia)
and also in terms of syncing... after updating my trinity from mobile 5 to 6, do i need a new version of active Sync, because i'm having trouble sync now...
Thank you all~~~ I'm hoping there are nice and helpfully people around

I think you meant to write "but i'm NOT sure how to get GPS running".
If so, you do not need to install any software. GPS works. But without a software program that actually uses GPS, GPS itself is quite useless. So install TomTom 6 (if you don't have it let me know, I'll post it), follow the instructions and your GPS will work. Headsup, first fix will take some minutes, so be patient.

Thanks in advance if Arilexed or anyone can help help, so i can be a happy trinity owner like the rest.

http://www.tomtom.com is the place to create an account and download a paid map, but you can use Route 66 too.
Let we start with Google Maps, that's free of charge and easy setup. I've attached the file.
ActiveSync (XP or earlier) is available at Microsoft, http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/activesync/activesync45.mspx
Windows Mobile Device Center (Vista) at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/devicecenter.mspx

You can download Tomtom 6.03 from rapidshare:
http://rapidshare.com/files/47514040/1.bin
http://rapidshare.com/files/47519726/1.b01
http://rapidshare.com/files/47523589/1.b02
Just rename the files:
1.bin > 1.zip
1.b01 > 1.z01
1.b02 > 1.z02
Upzip the file and copy the content from the zipfile to the root of your SD. Use File Explorer to navigate to the root of your SD card and tap on Start.exe from and TT will install itself.
Arilexed: Thanks for your Tomtom 6 links, much appreciated once again...
For those familiar with google maps and gps settings.... when i use google maps on my trinity it keeps saying seeking GPs satellites (0)... but it never finds anything....
is there something i need to do with the setting??
How about tomtom 6 do i need to change the gps setting in order to make it work?
I'm hoping someone can help me out~~~
Thanks in advance~
Doesn't GoogleMaps require you to have a constant internet connection to be able to use?
yes, i believe you are right prawnz....
piitaa, ensure you are outside, away from tall buildings and built-up areas. a first-time lock can often take 10-15 minutes to obtain.

no problem, glad to be of service. could you confirm if the download and installation has worked for you?
Hi dos anyone have this problem? I've tried installing WM6 official OZ ROM but finds that the in build memory is smaller. and since TomTom needs to be installed in the phone inbuild memory I have only small amount left to install other stuff. Plus how come there is no office in the official ROM.
hello, don't have the answer to your question but I think you would have more chance in getting a answer if you started a new thread for this. just a thought...
TomTom - making more room
Hi - you can just move the folder "Navigator" from the program files out to the Storage Card - just correct any shortcuts to point to the new location. It works fine and frees up that much space on the device...
Did anyone manage to get this weather plugin to work with Tmobile tzones ($5.99) internet? I tried to search for this issue but couldn't find a clear answer.
I works fine via ActiveSync or Wireless internet - but no go for t-zones proxied connection.
If I understood correctly, you would like to load the weather data over T-mobile. Correctly?
If, functions perfectly. Only select city and completely.
Or did you want another program, in place of the HTC weather Plugin?
Describe nevertheless please times which as much money costs there.
I am not safe me whether I you correctly understood.

I think you need to learn the English language a little better, before you try to help others... hehe I have no idea what you're talking about!
There's a fix for it. Someone created a server for the HTC plugin to get its data from and it works through TMobile (tzones or not). Read the HTC Home plugin threads around here and I'm sure you'll find a cab...
I tried the patched version on t-mobileweb and still couldn't get it to work..
I use spb mobile shell. It works.

As far as I know - SPB uses it's own weather plugin. I'd like to use HTC home weather.

Yes, that what's happening to me. There is a thread for HTC Home weather fix, but it looks like the author is rarely responding to peoples questions. Yes, he created a modified cab file that uses one of his servers to re-route the data, but somehow it's not working. I believe it's because of t-mobile tzone internet is using proxied access. On the regular internet access (thru WIfI or wireless lan or activesync) the plugin works great.
Is there a lucky person who managed to get this plugin to work on T-mobile USA tzones internet?
juzzie: the 6tab cab worked for me on this t-mobile plan:$29.99/month, Unlimited w/o VPN, internet2.voicestream.com. And U'r right, it looks like the owner of that thread has left the building!

Yep, I know. It's working on T-mobile data plans. But I'm using tzones which is a proxied connection.
To tell you honestly - I gave up. I tried Fizz weather and it works like a charm. It offers far better weather related services and takes only a thin bar on the home screen. You just have to configure it properly: I'm using 2 days forecast including current weather.
Been Trying!
I been trying for a long time now everyday to find the answer to Tmobile USA not being able to use the htc plugin weather program. I myself have full access internet 29.99. sometime it will load it, some times it wont. Maybe its where your at? check the tmobile site www.tmobile.com to see how is your signal. If everyone can come up with a test simple it would be faster to figure it out. Developers neeed help and imput. good luck
yeah, the modified cabs of the HTC weather plugin will only work on a non-proxied connection. I'm having the same trouble, and have tried everything out there.
N2A (creator of the modified HTC weather server) goes thru port 80 which is blocked on $5.99 T-zones, so thats where we suffer.
As far as SPB mobile shell goes, does it integrate with HTC Home tabs? or is it something on its own? any screen captures available?
Well maybe you can ask the guy nicely to make another dll for you that will connect to his server using a different port !

lol, I guess I could do that.
I would also recommend WeatherPanel with the "son of commuter 240" theme. It's just an awesome combination...
Maybe, just maybe this could help
Hi, I recently changed a HTC Touch (T-mobile GER) around completely to get rid of the (for me) unwanted carrier specifics of the original Rom. I Backuped the Ext Rom in which I came across the attached cab (I frankly don't have any idea what it does - all other contents were merely hompage setting or spftkey changer app...)
Since Tmob found it useful to play with the weather, maybe someone could see what's inside. Maybe it could solve the problem.
Cheers, Chris
Ciao everybody,
First of all I'd like to tell you that you are doing great job (pratically for free and for a limited glory).
thank you very much.
from my point of view and compared with my skill some of us (udk, guybrush ect..) are definitely genius.
Could you tell me if is there any auto disconnect software working on wm6 outthere?
many thanks

Well I thought it was REALLY for free.
What you mean by autodisconnect? Is it to switch off phone, or switch off the PDA, or disconnect gprs connection, or what?
For the phone you have psshutXP
for the data you have NoData from Modaco
Both for free, use the search function to find them!
thank you for your reply.
I refer to data/gprs connection.
I know that there is an application working on WM5 (GB_SOFT GPRS auto-disconnect) but I didn't getthe change to test.
Now I'm asking if there is something similar for WM6,
Modaco Nodata main link doesn't work. I'll search
thank you again

Hmm is there such a cab that can auto-disconnect voice calls after say, 10 min etc?
For example..my current call plan gives me free 10 min calls to other mobiles on 3 (Australia) and it would be handy to have the phone disconnect automatically on calls where I dial out after 10 min...
Any ideas?

I think the logs are in xml format. I haven't got it installed at the moment. You can read them with Google Earth and then export to TomTom ov (POI) files or use POIconverter for that. I don't think you can export directly to a folder in which you have a TomTom map, but what is TS looking for exactly?
Happy new year everyone,
since yesterday I am the proud owner of my Touch HD (enough sentimentalies). I am just getting all the software/tweaks together search through this forum.
For some reason I have not come across the following:
A software, that keeps track of my monthly used minutes, SMS and most important - since I don't have a flatrate - the data volume loaded through 3G (or everything that is not WiFi).
I did find LCMinutes 1.54, but I didn't see anything about data volume in there.
Any recommendations ? (aside from "get a flatrate" )
Oh look, some glasses also might do the trick. In the Wiki I found GPRSTrafficMonitor: (Commercial) and SPB GPRS Monitor (Commercial, $20, 15 day trial). So, I would need to rephrase my request. Anything that can do all three things and is for free? "Das geht nun wirklich nicht..." <- German referrence to famouse KinderSurprise ad
Thanks alot!
A great program to monitor 3g data, USB data, bluetooth data is SPB Wireless Monitor!

Hello all friend,
I checked it yesterday! Homescreen (old Batterystatus) works great with HD , BUT you MUST use it on Second today plugin or you must deactivate TouchFlo3D.
(It is not working with TouchFlo3D but you already know that. Well i didn't so ).

how do you use it in second today plug in? is this software?
Thanks for all your suggestions.
I have now used the combination of Homescreen ++ (thanks wildx) and Second today (thanks brandon7gr). It now seems to work like a charm.
Second today is just another regular .cab file that install on the device.
I will have to take a closer look at the accuracy but I guess even a rough idea where I stand will do the trick.

Check with your service provider as they might already offer this service to you free of charge in the way of a text message request or voice spoken ....some networks offer this service....please dont ask me how as this is network dependant so you best enquire with your network service provider....it wont hurt to ask them...good luck

You google for and install "SecondToday" then you will see a shortcut in your start menu for it and it runs another today screen as an app instead of a "true" today screen. The advantage is that you can run Manilla and map a softkey to SecondToday which will run all of your older Today plugins.
