Stereo Audio on MDA Compact III - P3300, MDA Compact III General

Hi. New here, so please be gentle.
I have a TMobile MDA Compact III. The headphones that come with it are bad so I bought a Mini USB to 3.5mm convertor so I could use my own ones.
My problem is that I am only getting mono playback.
I am new to the PDA scene, but am familiar enough with other bits of electronicary to know that a firmware update might fix things. My Compact III is currently in this state:
ROM Version :1.13.110.1 WWE
ROM Date : 9/22/06
Radio Verison : 02.49.90
Protocol Version : 4.1.13.25
ExtROM : 1.13.110.101
Thanks in advance for any help!

I'd be more suspicious of the adapter.
Pin-outs are not the same for different manufacturers, and even sometimes for different models by the same manufacturer.
Are you sure the adapter you are using is correct?
I'm assuming you do get stereo via the original supplied headphones?

Yes, i would also test this first. If you do get stereo with the supplied original headphones, it's definately the adaptor.

man...
not a very good start to my posting on this board...
my faithful pair of Sony MDREX71 headphones have finally bitten the dust...
It was the headphones that were knackered, not the adaptor!!
Oh well - will just have to get a new pair!
Thanks for your help anyway!

As far as I know, know patch or fix yet.

Carrying 2 phones.
Lucky for me contract up for renewal next month so will look for a device or phone with a2dp support.

they are supplied with a detatchable cable cable for non-bluetooth audio.
headphones have 2.5mm headphone socket and come with a 2.5-3.5mm stereo cable.
(now looking for a 2.5-2.5 stereo cable)

is there a release date for that? a quick google didnt show much..
microsoft has already issued AKU 2.0 to the OEM. it's the OEMs turn to implement it in the ROM updates and release it to the end users. check with your OEM as to the release date and post back.
thanks,
approx Mid March for AKU2
Just so you guys know, it is out in QTEK flavor.

Hope they're nearly as good sound quality unwired as wired, coz they sound FANTASTIC. Never though they'd be as good as my Sony MRD-EX71's.....
EDIT: Not quite as good as wired, but damn close. I'm a happy bunny - upgrade went without a hitch, as long as I followed the one in the wiki! Now to go grab all my O2 settings....
Jabra BT620, just got them....they're amazing.... only problem is my Sony Ericsson k750i doesnt let me hear audio on the headphones just phone calls...any ideas on how I can get a2dp or even avrcp on that phone?

Nokia Pop-port to MiniUSB

Hi fellas!
I'm the somewhat happy owner of the HTC Artemis (P3300). In my car is installed a hands-free kit from Nokia (due to my earlier phone was a Nokia 6230). As I don't feel like getting a new hands-free kit (if it's even available) the question is if I can convert the plug coming from the Nokia MBC-15S into the miniUSB port of the P3300 (and probably other miniusb-based phones).
The plug in the Nokia device is called a Pop-Port - I found a brief description of it on http://pinouts.ru/CellularPhones-Nokia/nokia_pop_pinout.shtml ..
You guys know if there's a product out there ?!
Thanks in advance!

i was also wondering if the above was possible?
this would go some way to getting this hermes working with a nokia car kit..
I'll ask around..

do you think that with the 3.5 jack, it would sacrifice the tv out option?

Which alternative wired handsfree ?

hi guys,
I lost my handsfree and wanted to know which alternative handsfree (wired) is compatible with the MT4G.
Out here, we dont have the MT4G (mine was an import), so I really have to look for different accessories to fit my phone.
It would be great to know, for example, if Nokia or Sony wired handsfree are compatible with this. Or even iPhone handsfree.
thanks in advance!

Call HTC they'll send you a new one, I've gotten 3 sent to me so far and you don't have to send the broken/missing one back.

Hello,
Old post, but what modell of the Wing do you have?
I have european ITC (Italy I guess...), but it seems that although I installed the radio app that dipson posted here above, radio doesnt work... I have and use the original LG USB c to jack to try, with standard headphones.

I'm afraid that USB-C to 3.5mm adapter is not going to work just like it doesn't for recent jack-less Samsung devices, as these adapters lack the micro chip inside which triggers a proper antenna connection required by software to operate. You need to get a dedicated USB C headset that contains that trigger and of course not every USB C headset will work either. I'm afraid the European and American variants aren't enabled with this feature anyway since you mentioned you didn't have it preinstalled and a USB to 3.5 adapter bundled with it. The Korean (F100N) variant has radio preinstalled and also bundled with a pair of wired earbuds USB C connector.
Thank you for your informations. I didn't think about this possibility. I'll try with usbc headphones when I get home, would be a nice plus if it would work, although fm is soon to be dead versus dab+ in many european countries...
