Hi guys,
I bought an adapter as above to use my regular headphones but I can only hear the right side of the earphones. I've tried using a few headphones and t
all the same. I went back to the shop and the guy said it might be the phone, I exchanged the adapter for a new 1 and the same problem occurs.
Anybody any info on this?
It looks like you have the wrong adaptor. The one you tried was probably designed to be used for the HTC Blueangel or Motorola MPx 200.
The HTC Prophet uses a different 'wiring scheme' for the 4 contact points of the 2.5mm jack. I think this is similar to the HTC Typhoon.
Anyway, if you use the original stereo headphone that come with your phone you can confirm if there is a stereo output from your phone. If this works than it is the wrong adaptor you are using.

Have a look at ebay for an adpater that fits, HTC did not use the "normal" scheme for the wiring - so a special one had to be produced, i did only find it at ebay...
Hi,I've bought one here.It works for spv m600 and qtek s200.

maybe you bought a mono adapter, try with the phone in box when you bought your phone, if no problem it means wrong adapter. Change the other. Good luck.
The one Markdu81 bought works perfectly.
merci pour le conseil ^^

I've already have a 4-pin adapter from my MPX 200 similar to the picture and it only gives mono output so I ordered the 3 pin adapter. It hasn't arrived yet but I'll post the results.

Hello again.
I just received the adapter and it's the same as the one I have, i.e. it only gives a mono output.... Either they sent the wrong item or you should order the 4-pin adapter.
Good luck and please post your results...
Hi,
I sell 2.5mm to 3.5mm headphone adapters.
They are US $1.50 plus shipping.
They provide stereo output on the prophet (I know because I also have a prophet).
If you would like to place an order, PM me with your country and I'll let you know the delivery cost.
As an MP3, the prophet is a pretty good device, with quite clear sound. It's best not to have too many applications running while listening to music, or you may experience some static or jumpy sound. I would also recommend you download an audio player that has EQ settings (treble / bass etc) to get the best out of the device.
I bought one from Maplins works fine.

Thanks

Hello,
I’m new to this phone and forum, just getting my head round it. First problem I’m trying to tackle is the frankly awful headphones that come with the device.
Trying to find decent 2.5 mm headphones is not easy, I bought a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter but it’s a bit rubbish and loose and I’m sure it is changing it from stereo to mono. So after hours of research I’ve found some Sennheiser MM50’s. These have an integrated mic and also a 2.5mm 4 pole jack.
Now are these likely to work on my phone as I understand there are different ways that 2.5mm jacks can be wired up?
Thanks in advance.
I guess you will have to try it.
I use some Siedo headphones I got off eBay. They are not brilliant but are better than the supplied ones.
I can't find it right now but I came across this: http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=127646
It's an adpator - that is wired correctly for a HTC 2.5mm sockect and it has a built-in mic. You can plug any 3.5mm headphone jack into it. - Heck - I might get one myself!
Cheers, that doesnt look to bad. I notice that was compatible with the P900 which I think is compatible the Sennheiser MM50’s. So maybe they will be ok.
Do you know if the prophet has a standard 2.5mm 4 pole connector?
Yes, it's the usual 2.5mm 4 pole connector. There doesn't seem to be a "standard" way of wiring them though but the link I gave you should be fine.
It is NOT recommendable, for the Sennheiser MM50 headphones are made for Motorola devices/phones. HTC Prophet appears to have different wiring schema compared to Motorola and the headphones will play only from one channel - unfortunately.
I bought them recently (in spite of warnings on this forum) and was very disappointed to experience this effect. Fortunately however, I was able to give them back to the shop.
I use my old Sony Ericsson P800's headphones and the quality is waaay better. In fact the best non-professional headphones I've had till now were all Sonys.
It has to be Sony.
Have a look at Ebay. Search for SPV M600 and you may find a whole host of accessories. Or search specifically for:
Handsfree Remote/Adaptor for Orange SPV M600/M3000 PDA or
Oasis music adapter for qtek S200, SPV M600, Dopod 830
I have a similar item and it allows me to use any headphones or even connect it to my HiFi. It even has a PTT button and microphone to answer calls - imagine having a phone call routed through your home HiFi!
Hi!!!
Do you know if this one can work with prophet?

This one is not compatible with the Prophet. Prophet uses a 2.5mm jack while the newer HTC devices use the mini-USB connection for the headphones. The product in the link that you provided is meant for these newer devices. What you want is a 2.5mm (male) to 3.5mm (female) converter. You can find them at www.expansys.com.
Hi,
the subject says it all: does anybody know a car holder with 3.5mm audio out jacket, preferrably also with charger? A local dealer in germany would be great.
With the ability to use SDHC cards now the Artemis might become my car audio player...

Hello...
Here is a solution.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/In-Car-Charge...ryZ48674QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
and
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3in1-audio-Ad...oryZ3728QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
You can find a lot of these kind of stuff on ebay if you look for "p3300", for instance.
About the product not being in Germany: I have already bought one p3300 related from hong kong and it took more or less 1 week to arrive... (I am living in NL)
I know that I can get the functionality in separate items.
However, I was looking for a car holder that already has an audio out.
Thanks for trying...
I've seen a few Korean cheap adapters on ebay but they probably won't work or will suck big time. I read that the Tilt needs an 11-pin connector but which one? Has anybody bought one of those, and if so, can I have some links or the names of the stores?
Thanks.
Edit: I meant USB to 3.5mm!
I got two from Radio Shack that worked perfect. Albeit, they were long and I feared for stress caused on the port. That fear subsided when the phoen got nagled and the adaptor itself bent inside the 8125 jack, no damage to the jack, nice HTC.
I meant USB to 3.5mm. But thanks anyway, I'll stop by Radio Shack later.
Can you edit your title? I did not mean USB convertor was at RS, only mini stereo to stereo for 8125, 8525, etc. Does the Dongle use the 3.5 or 2.5 sized? I see two holes matching both sizes but is one for video?
anyone if ready to help me to get this i will pay him...plz contact me..urgent...
What is the device?
In Chennai?
Hi,
Can someone throw in some pointers on where i can find a 3.5mm adaptors for the Opal (Touch Viva) in Chennai? I walked the entire stretch of Ritchie Street (the electronics/computer parts) haven here and still couldn't find one!
If you have a credit card open an account with paypal and get it from Ebay, that's what I did for my Touch Cruise.
Found one on eBay
Oh well, i just ordered one on ebay. Cost me Rs. 500 ($12-13). Its apparently an original HTC U110 headset (the one with the split earpiece, like SE).
