The SIM from Cingular regulates this, but there is also a reg key to enable it but it only overrides the SIM setting until next power off. It is interesting if you are using Cingular and the SAME actual SIM and the HP works different for manual network selection. This is a common complaint of the 8525 and Cingular in general. Many poeple get better roaming signal but this is a way for Cingular to save roaming money by not allowing manual roaming.

GB-SOFT GPRS Tweak - new version (23.02.2004) WM2K3PE I+II

Hi all,
New version (23.02.2004) GB-SOFT GPRS Tweak - is on :
http://www.GB-SOFT.cz/XDAII
Georg
I have the 11.02.04 version, and it works great!
Are there any significant changes in this new version?
It is ironic, how you have the screen displays with GPRS monitor installed, placed approx. in the same location on the header-bar as I have
I think these two programs complement each other well, although I did find it necessary, to toggle the GPRS on permanently, as it was originally, due to extended use of MSN Messenger on my part.
Anyway, thanks for the excellent tweak!!!

Man this is a great looking piece of software confirming that its only for the XDA II?
If not has anybody tried it on the XDA I, if so how did it work?
My battery is starting to show a little age if you know what I mean!

Problems when swithing between 3G and 2G

Hi everybody..
My problem is that when my tytn switches between 3g and gsm it sometimes needs the pin code to be reentered. This is kinda frustrating as im not allways aware that it needs it.
I have found two ways to fix this but i dont care for eather of them.
1. I can disable 3G

}
2. I have installed Commmgrpro and there is an option there to input your pin code but that is a security risk i think
My radio rom is 1.48 and before that i think i had 1.43??
Is there anybody who knows what this could be or posibly have a fix for it?
ps. this is not a wm6 problem as i had it on wm5 aswell but i post this here as im on wm6 now.
Thanx
btw: changing the setting in the band settings applet (start>settings>phone>band(tab)) on the SECOND menu to the bands your network uses does not help (thanx to MrVanx on 4winmobile.com for the tip anyway)
Do you sync with a work server and if so, have your IT people set the pin request on ?
The pin code is on... but it should not ask for it when switching automatically between 3g and gsm. That is simply not the way it is suposed to work.
As I said, is the pin code request set by your IT people via the server side security settings, or is it your own pin code preference locally on the device?
Either way, whats the time setting for the pin? If its set to zero or 30 seconds then it may be being triggered when the device switches.
I know it shouldnt but I am trying to help you find a work around.
do u mean sim pin code or device? the code im talking about is the sim pin code and i can not see any place to set a time for it. And no i do not sync with exchange server.

Force Roam

IS there any change someone could develop a way to force the EVO to roam? I know there are quite a few people over at Android Central that have asked about it. Force roam is one of the two things I miss from my Pre, because I do a lot of traveling, and sometimes I'm caught in between Sprint and roaming and just bounce back and forth between 0 & 1 bar.
Thanks
Try this...

I've seen that. Is it the only option? I was hoping someone with more knowledge then me would be able to make a simple app or widget with a switch. Is there just no option for that, or just a lack of interest?
Thanks for the reply

Done, thanks. I guess I have to stick with the posted method for now. It amazes me that someone can't make a simple little toggle widget.
Try this
http://androidforums.com/tips-trick...rce-roaming-triangle-without.html#post1297971
once someone figures out how to get back to the ##775# screen. It was the only PRL I could find that actually showed the Triangle but since Froyo disabled ##775# its back to sqare one...
Update: CyanogenMod 6 RC1 and Nightlies has forced roaming capability:

Create a while list of phone numbers?

Is it possible to restrict the phone numbers the phone can call?
I want to restrict calling to certain list of approved phone numbers. Is this possible?
Should be possible with any phone and carrier, as long as you know your sim's PIN2 code. You should be able to enable it in Settings > Call > Fixed Dialing Numbers.
Good luck finding your SIM PIN 2 though. The default for T-Mobile is supposedly 5678, but I have found that it is hit or miss whether T-Mobile SIMs actually have the default values.
I can't speak for US users, but in Romania every SIM comes with its own set of PIN, PIN2, PUK, PUK2.
So I'm SOL with a Bell Desire Z?
If you can't find the PIN2 on the SIM card (the large, credit card-sized one), call Bell and they should be able to provide you with one.
Maybe I'm just missing it, but on the European ROM I can't see anything under Call->Settings for fixed dialling numbers.

Build 1.34.405.5, CID HTC__032 (WWE, not branded)
Thanks. That's odd though, because I'm on that same ROM version and I don't see those options. I can only guess that it must be carrier/SIMcard-specific ?

No roaming settings at all. Please help!!

Hi everyone im new to the site. I have a sprint lg g5 and im out of the country currently. So heres the deal. I requested a uicc unlock before i left. So i got here (israel) and i had roaming for about a half hour and then it just went to no service. So when i went into my settings to make sure the roaming was on i saw that the option for roaming whether domestic or international does not exist. Also network type options all i get is lte/cdma or just cdma no automatic option.
I called sprint and they said its lg's fault so i called lg and they said its sprint's fault.
Has anyone ever seen or heard of this problem?

Try the app in the OP of this thread, it should help you to access the roaming settings - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3574819
