Their are a couple new roms out that I have notice. I just want some opinions on what rom is the best.
I like making my own using the Pandora kitchen. You can make it as streamlined or as bloated as you like! The cut-down ones are FAST and Matt is always updating the kitchen with new fixes and programs. Schap's ROM is my other favourite one. I only stopped using it because his full version had too many programs for my liking and the Lite version had too few!
Best rom
the best rom for me is vp3g, but i am going to try again to cook, so far i have under cooked one rom and burnt the other, i think where i fail is in the seasoning
well... Based in coreplayer v1.1 benchmark, running a divx.. the fastest rom is the official! But i couldnt change the ugly comm manager to the kaiser...

I've notice a couple of custom ROM for the Trinity. Would those of you who have tried these ROM give me a recommendation on which i should try. I'm currently using Schap's ROM for Hermes but am now looking to flash my Trinity as well.
Might sound weird but has anybody tried flashing Schap's ROM for Hermes to the Trinity?
Thank you for an advice given.
I have found a few useful WWE (English ROMs) that all have there own nice features.
but the nicest so far for me is this one. bepe's http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317690
it comes in 4 versions Full, NoTomTom, Lite, Lite VC.

I have tried many WM6 ROMs, I personally feel the 'bepe' ROM is the best so far too.
I use AX3L 2.0.8.2 ROM but also tried LSVW ROM. In my opinion there is no best ROM in general, just the best ROM for you so try a few and you decide which one is best for you.
It would be good if all versions of ROMs could be compared against one another over what they contain as well as stability or people recommending as it would help with questions such as this!
My personal experience:
AX3L, very fast, very stable, slightly outdated software versions, not as good looking/user friendly due to the lack of htchome and htsmusicmanager
Bepe, this seems to be a ver fast and very up to date version, but the feature list is not as clear as AX3l's so i am not sure how fast it really is.
PDAVIET, i am using this now, feels slower than AX3l, is fully updated to all the versions of os and hardware, the downside of this is that it all seems to include a buggy version of batterystatus (or a buggy combination of the newest htchome with batterystatus) which cab cause a crash in some cases (ruiquiring a hard-reset)
i think shaps rom looks best with all his customation, too bad he doesnt also have a trinity
"It would be good if all versions of ROMs could be compared against one another over what they contain as well as stability or people recommending as it would help with questions such as this!"
yes the whole purpos of a wiki is people contrubuting to it
so go for it!

Thanx for the many replies. Looking at it, i will give bepe's ROM a go 1st. Would the process be the same as what i did for my Hermes? Update the SPL and just run the downloaded ROM? Or is it different?

which is the best & stablest rom for hermes ???
Shap's 3.54c
ciao
ROM based on latest AT&T 3.61 are really good. You can cook it the way you want with pandora kitchen. There is at this time none released cooked ROM using this version as far as I know
what about 3.60a
I'm very happy with the HTC Original build.
Keep going, one positive and one negative for each available rom please.
Mate, if there was a quick answer to that question, do you think this forum would have so many threads?
Rom from edhaas is fast and stable.
I'm very happy with the TNT 2.0 rom. It's fast and stable. Only one major flaw: After some number of soft resets, my device bricks at the last reset and the only solution to that is a hard-reset. I'm trying to find out if this can be avoided by using the ClearTemp program, cooked in the 6mb prof. rom. There is an option of clearing the Bootcount number. I really hope this works.
Besides that the 2.0 rom is the best one for me.
Schap's 3.60a - only one I've tried that doesn't occasionally freeze plus based on tmobile test rom so no device ID change!
..one way to find out.. if your device still responsive after running as many programs as below, then that should be an ideal ROM to hang on to.. but in order to do this, there is no easy way or a straight answer to it, u gotta flash & flash again until that "special one" is found.. this is the holy grail & why such developer forum as this one exists in the first place..
@OP p/s : why don't u set up a poll in this thread, since there are new ROMs cooked/official/unofficial been released since the last poll..
is the official wm6 the stablest than others cooked rom ???
No, quite the opposite. In most cases you will find that cooked roms included fix's / tweaks that improve the reliability of the official rom.
And which rom is the stablest ???
stability issues normally occur when you start to install 3rd party applications. I recommend you try a few out, customize them and then see which ones you find stable. Obviously the more recent the rom, the more stable they are likely to be due to them including the latest patches etc.
for stability I like vp3g rom
Nobody can actually tell you which is the best because it`s all depends on individual device taste, performance, radio and app preference. So, you need to start reading the cooks threads, do some testing and decide which one works best for your device.
No doubt here.
I have installed nearly all cooked roms, and as conclusion ...
One fail here the other fail there.
Now I'm on last K's rom. For me the most stable and reliable.
More than two month without flashing...
Roms are like flawours, but if you want to flash and rest for a while, for sure K's is the best choice.
Regards
for my choise there are 2 roms:
1) K's Rom WM6.0 Final (I'm using the lite version for 2 months now)
2) Olio's Rom 3.54, also lite
both are smooth, small and really fast
vp3g all way. PLEASE COME BACK!!!
K's Rom for me is the best one. Tried TNT WM 6.1, It is a good rom, but 6.1 has its bugs, which I haven't been used to for months so I went back to K's. vp3g's is a awesome rom also.
Like TNT SE myself.... Dont forget to sim/cid unlock your phone before you Hard SPL it though, could cause problems otherwise.
Hi,
I jumped from an Xda IIi -> E-Ten G500 -> 2x P3300's (lcd broken inside) -> HD Touch Pro2
Nice phone, hope it will serve for 10 years or more :-D
Some questions : i'm new in the TouchPro2 section, i would like to ask you all :
1> What's the fastest rom at the moment?
2> What's the best looking ?
3> What's the fastest & best looking combination (medium rom, not lite nor full)
4> Is rom flashing easier than with the P3300 (is there "nouspl" stuff needed? or problems with 64bit versions, had to flash on my friends 32bit pc)
5> I just flashed the latest radio and worked directly! Did not need anything like nouspl
Cause I heard the 6.5 rom is way slower on this device than previous 6.1.
Thanks!
Cheers,
Innovator
Best rom is stock 6.5
Honestly ive been flashing roms for about four months without finding 1 perfect yet they all have flass the best i found is Energyrom Pheonix2 the best looking is Energyrom Leo however I have had issues with dropped calls, landscape mode not working, and freezing. Not to mention every time he revises his rom you need to re-flash and sut your phone up all over again so i decided it was too much of a hassle and i went with the new tmo stock rom and i turned off that htc sense crap and and i just tricked out my ms titanium screen

I agree. NRG's roms are quite fast, especially the latest one, but i had been having issues with his others i moved to a stock eu rom, which i liked because of the general stability. Now i'm using Timor v0.9 and i like it. Stock look and feel but generally fast, with stock stability. All in all it depends on what you want. Pretty much just flash away and see.
Generally, threads about which ROM is best are locked, because there are too many ROMs and everyone has different preferences. I, for example, like EnergyROM Leo 21885, but someone else might like the Cell Pro series or the Valkyrie series of ROMs. It's really personal preference, and the best thing you can do is flash all of them and decide what you like best. It may seem daunting, but it's the only real way, though it helps to look at people's signatures where they often post their ROM.
As for your other questions, I've never owned a P3300, but flashing a ROM on the Rhodium is very easy. First, you put HardSPL on your device, which is a modified bootloader which doesn't enforce signature checking on ROMs, allowing you to flash a custom ROM. Then, there are a few ways you can flash, using your SD card or your PC with CustomRUU (64 bit does work, I can confirm). You can find the full instructions on how to flash a ROM and install HardSPL here.
My Faves
Here is a list of my personal favorites that I have tried and would recommend to any one who wants to flash.
WM6.5 Josh's PerfectBlack 1.7-FINAL!, Sense 2.1
This ones light and fast. and stable I must say. Three versions to this. I prefer the LIGHT.
WM6.5.5 AthineOS 23518, Sense 2.5
I have to agree this really is the fastest and smoothest when it comes to Sense 2.5
Jackos Hybrid ROM (V4) WM6.1 21048 + Sense 2.1
I am currently latched on to Jackos Hybrid. Works pretty much the same way as any WM 6.5 ROM with Sense, well at least for me. Meets all my requirements and I have to say it is the fastest with the most amount of free memory with Sense.
Not a very big fan of Energy ROMS as they tend to use up a lot of memory, but are smooth and fast too.
Finally the choice is up to you.
Cheers.

OMG! This thread hasn't been closed yet???
Fastest ROM- strike 1
Best looking- strike 2
Best combination- strike 3
and then two more questions for icing.
Wow.
I've seen a lot of roms developed in this forum. I've now the Energy Rom NLD. But I can't overclock my Touch HD with this ROM. So I'm looking for another ROM.. one that's stable, fast and can do many things (especially making pictures and video's in good quality)...
I hope someone can advise me a better ROM than the Energy Rom. Cause I've already seen that and I'm ready for something new....
inb4 ****storm
One of notable ROM is Dutty v3.9 XT turbo.
The best ROM u can use is kwbr v 5.7 COM2 MANILA
Why?!
1. Because is with the Manila version and this make the whole interface super fast and stable.
2. Its 6.5 Based from COM2 witch is most stable bug free branch with super ram and battery consumation.
3. Because the ROM is tweaked and is even more faster and stable than a Stock ROM and this is Must have for EVERYDAY use if you want to enjoy your Blackstone.
4. You will never have any problem witch this ROM because just there is no SINGLE BUG
5. Our Blackstones are not made for 2.5 Sense or even 2.1 Sense because its to slow i play alot with HD2 and i know how the Sense must to look and response.. so maybe we never will catch the speed and the Sense to run on your Blackstones like is designed to be.. for this reason if you want to have a stable rom you just need TouchFLO Manila with core 6.5 this is the question WHY exactly this ROM.
Also if you prefer a 6.5.3 Based ROM there is exactly the same ROM v 5.7 COM3 Manila the diference is of the Branch Build i also test this ROM too and is super good but COM2 is the fastest and stable ONE till now no one beat it
Enjoy
I got this phone to since a little while.
At the moment I have W.M. 6.1 installed (standard Rom)
The kwbr v 5.7 COM2 MANILA looks good for as far as I know. But since this is my first W.M. advanced phone, I'm not sure if it's wise to do this 'upgrade'.
If something happens with my phone, what then? Because these ROM's are more like hacks or am I wrong?
Is the phone really getting faster for example? And do I need to install all kinds of extra if I install this kwbr v 5.7 COM2 MANILA ROM?
I read the sticky's etc about flashing ROM's, but since English isn't my main language and I'm not yet that technical in all these terms, I'm not sure if it's wise for me to install a different ROM.
(sorry for hijacking this thread, but since I'm also looking for the best ROM, I think it's appropiate to post this here)

Ofcourse 1st now u have WM 6.1 and he have ugly Start Menu and appireance etc and if you install 6.5 will see the diference..
the Cooked ROM`s are not Hacks they are build from the latest avalible apps xip and etc packages.. for example when there is new Update for the Rhodium or HD2 Leo because they both use the same resolution and etc the cookers get the latest updates from there and make them for our Blackstone..
So when you are flashing a new ROM cooked you are going to have the latest updates published from Microsoft and in some cases HTC
I think that worth to Flash a new ROM and experiment and if you read evrything carefull you cannot damage your device..
The honest is that WM 6.1 maybe is the fastes one because of the poor graphic and appiriance but some of the cooked rom are faster than 6.5 because they are Cooked and because some unusual stuffs are removed from the ROM.. so when you flash a Cooked ROM you get only the things that are writen in the ROM thread..
So to understand me clear a Stock Official 6.5 ROM for example for HD2 and Cooke 6.5 ROM for HD2 the cooked one will BEAT in many aspects..
They are tweaked... optimized.. updatet and etc!
So the only reason why they are Cooked and we call not official is because the Cookers are just guys from here.. if they was working for Microsoft or HTC they will be releasing Official ROM`s
nice article man.. thank u..
hi!
first time here, and first time trying to do something different to my touch hd...
can someone direct me how to install w.m. 6.5 and EnergyzeROM?
step by step pls
tnx!!

@playerxl
Did you upgrade radio? My Blackstone was overclocked to 750MHz on stock ROM (1.14) but when I flashed Barebone 2.6 (1.59) it couldn't go over 691MHz untill radio upgrade. Now it's stable at 729MHz.
kwbr 5.7 Manila
Hi All
I can only agree with tsalta
kwbr 5.7 C2 Manila is the best ROM around for everyday use.
I have got my Blackstone from my uncle with this rom a year ago. Never had problems.
Last week I've experimented with some latest roms (Several Energy, and kwbrs with sense in them).
Sense is too slow/unresponsive on our machine. That was bugging me - since I know how fast it should be.
I'm coming back to No Sense ROM. Surely, I will miss the eye candy of Sense, and huge amount of quick links in Energy, but the performance and the battery life means more to me.
