Hi, i purchased a simlocked artemis last week, first thing i contacted imei-check and i unlocked it, everything seemed to work fine until monday when bluetooth stopped working for no apparent reason, i upgraded to the official htc wm5 rom, but no success, still no bluetooth, i even upgraded to TOMS touchflo wm6 version, but still no bluetooth.
I have contacted the store and they are willing to change it for a new one, but, of course it will be again sim locked with a different imei number, because i allready payed once to imei check i dont want to spend another 30 euros, and im assuming that imei check will not unlock the new one for free, im looking for a tool that lets me put the current imei on the new device so that i can unlock it with the files i allready purchased.
Thanks in advanced!
As far as I know it is in EPROM and can not be changed. In some countries it is also against the law to change it.
I am sure that IMEI Check will understand your situation, have you emailed them?

Pls help, need to unlock my MDA Pro.
nobody seems to have come up with a solution yet, im awaiting the same too
For the meantime, as I cannot afford to wait since I need a phone, you can call Tmobile customer services and ask them for an MDA Pro Unlock code, which they will provide for £15, you just need to tell them your IMEI.
Lucky you!!
Just to help you understand how lucky you are:i own a sequel of qtek universal called QTEK v1640 by Vodaphone's partner network in France, SFR.
The phone is simlocked and if you want it unlocked you have either to wait until you possess the pda for 6 months and get teh code delivered to you free of charge, or shell out 114 euros and get the phone theoretically unlocked at once with an imei unlockung code.
That's what is said to happen, except when SFR tells you that the phone you are willing to unlock is not in their suppliers list, that their supplier asks you three times in arow for the imei to check it against his list; and still doesn't find your phones imei; Except also when witha phone branded to their networks name, sfr tells you that the phone wasn't supplied in apcking displaying all sfr trademarks, with a graphic interface chosen and locked by them, with stickers in the batterycompartment showing sfr and finally the sfr product id for this phone.
Now you see how badly i need a unlock tool for my Qtek9000 sequel .
Please focus on this tools as i need badly to unlock this phone at once.
Just to show you how lucky you are;
Arnaud
Get Creative
I think you should all be aware that very few operators actually currently possess IMEI unlock codes for the HTC Universal in their databases and will in most cases have to ask the factory in Taiwan for the code. All I can say is get creative....use the customer service number of an operator in another country and see if you can get your phone unlocked....I had mine unlocked for free within 24 hours.
yo yo still waiting to unlock my mda pro
because i want to use my vodafone
and in the meanwile i just wait
cause there must be someone to make a upgrade

Hi fslunatic,
can you tell us which operator and country we should try and especially what to tell the customer service. I guess somebody with Orange subscription will have problems to contact i.e O2. :?:
Thanks for your feedback.
yes I unlocked mine
Called T-mobile. Assistant did not know what I was aking. Asked a supervisor and then went thtough process from her training manual.
COst GBP 15 quid. and unlock code was recieved through the post.
No hassle
Hi MCT,
If you have an Orange phone then call Orange...if it's Vodafone than Vodafone. Some work cross-country some don't. Just tried to help someone here unlock with Vodafone but no joy. I have had succes with T-Mobile....cross-border. Sometimes it also depends on how helpful the person on the other end is. The best punchline to give them is to make sure they understand that they have nothing to lose by giving you the unlock code....that without the code you cannot even select their network to make sure they get revenue from your call.
Good luck!

So my phone (Cavalier) is sim locked to Vodafone Egypt. I have ordered a code online from mobileunlocked.com and paid 45 dollars for it, and it got to me in a few days, but the code did not work, it told me "Invalid unlock code" anyways I wrote the company and I am waiting for them to get back to me as they promise to either fix the problem or refund me the money.
Anyways in the meantime, as I wait for the company to get back to me, I was doing some playing around and I noticed that I am totally able to go into the registry and change things, without any problems or any restrictions (Manytimes the carrier will sim lock the phone and you would not even be able to change the registry)
So my question is, is there anywhere in the registry where the sim lock/unlock feature is located? and if so is there anway for me to go in there and change it so I can sim unlcok this phone?
I know this may seem like a silly question but I had to give it a shot.
Thanks guys!
The SIM lock is not in the Registry but buried deep in the ROM.
It's not in the interest of HTC or the Telcos to make it easy to unlock so it's usually heavily encrypted and is generally unique to each model of phone.
However there are some pretty smart programmers here in XDA Developers and many of the phones have software available here to SIM unlock them - check the appropriate form for your phone.
If you find a free SIM unlocker that works for you, please make a donation to the developer so that they feel their work is appreciated - it's not easy to crack!
Good luck!
If it is buried deep in the rom, then how come if you put a different rom on, the phone still stays locked?
Again, maybe a silly question?
not the rom, but the eprom or even some form of bios. not sure if these phones have miniture LPC ports or not. never cracked one open.

Hi, first post here. I need help unlocking my Samsung Galaxy S2.
Details of the phone:
Android Version 2.3.7
Baseband version: I9100UMKG2
Kernel version
2.6.35.7-g1e46077
[email protected]#1
Mod Version
CyanogenMod-7.1.0-GalaxyS2
Build Number
GWK74
IMEI:
***
So, I went to an unlocking place in London, were they used all kinds of software that would supposedly unlock it, but it didnt work on any different carrier other that the one I have it on. I have a plan on TELCEL from Mexico for 18 months. I tried a second place and they still couldnt do it, even with the Samsung Software. So I rooted it, flashed it, and put CyanogenMod in it, and downloaded two apps that supposedly unlock it, one was the app done by ChainFire, and the other one by helroz. The chainfire app couldnt find the code! Helroz did nothing after it restarted. Also, I tried putting a code but only twice, so the phone still works fine and has chances for the unlock left, I believe.
One important thing to note is that with the old software that came with the code it wouldnt even as for an unlock code, but after rooting and putting cyanogen mod in it, it asks for an unlock code. Thats basically all ive done to it.
So, is there any way I can unlock this phone? And has there been cases were a phone is just impossible to unlock no matter what you do? I am desperate here!
Please remove your IMEI

Good call. IMEI's should never be shared publicly on the internet.

ok sorry about the IMEI ,and thanks for deleting it. So any help guys? PLEASE! Helroz and Chainfire not working. What else to do? Is buying one of those codes on the net a reliable way of doing it? I dont want to buy one and then find that it doesnt work...
Mexico is nasty with this they often deliver the phone 'broken' (they do this on purpose) making unlocking pretty much impossible.
In Europe doing this is illegal but well in Mexico (latin america) it isn't. I have seen this with Claro in Peru also.
You can try with SRS software (unlocksamsungonline.com) but contact support first to tell about your problem.
Also I suggest removing the modded firmware because that has probably only made your problem worse. Put a non branded original firmware and check if your IMEI is still intact.

I can vouch for his service, used it before...
I will try the links posted. The weird thing is, that when i do the *#simlock# on the phone, it shows all the options in off, as if everything was unlocked. But when I put in a new sim it says sim lock! What can I do? Is it still worth buying an SRS account and trying to get it unlocked? I dont want to spend 14gbp and then have the thing not work... Any ideas? I have also reverted to original software now. I need more options >(

you sure thats not a simpin not network lock? or the sim unlock pin was entered wrong now the sims blocked... got another sim to try?
Yeah ive tried other sims too, not working. ALL the locks show as off, but not working! I think the damn people just "broke" the phone and modify it so its impossible to unblock? I dont know what the hell im supposed to do... Tried almost every cable method out there, but not sure if to spend like 15 pounds more to get a code? I dont know if it will work... ANy other suggestions guys!?

The thread I linked you two, he has a UST Pro II, it's a hardware unlock solution... Phone must be on GB or less, and rooted, he shares his UST's USB connection over network, and carries out the operation on your computer... Msg him explaining the situiation and see is a refund possible if it doesn't work...
Great topic mate!:good:
Hey everybody, I´ve been having more problems than anticipated with my Dinc2. Basically what happened was this:
I had a phone that I bought new, unlocked, and used on the GSM network this past summer while abroad. (Verizon). However, I had dropped it to the point where the audio jack ceased to work and thus had to take it back in November for a replacement under the Best Buy warranty.
Now, in November I jailbroke the phone again, and I still have the code that I used to do it. Or at least I think I did it successfully, because I never checked with a real SIM card. After (possibly) getting rid of the SIM lock, I rooted, got S-off and flashed the radio following the instructions here, which had been working great for the past few months in the US (CDMA). Now I´m running MIUI on Android 2.3.5 and the baseband version is 20.27W.30.0811U_1.09.01.0622 and a kernel of 2.6.35.14.
Now I´m abroad again, working in Spain for the next several months. My first issue occured when I arrived and tried to use an SD card. Guess what! It would appear there´s a sim card lock. It doesn´t recognize sim cards when they are inserted, nor does the unlock code I got back in November unlock the phone.
It gets better.
The phone doesn´t show an IMEI number, nor is there an IMEI number on the sticker on the back of the phone-just a Serial Number and an MEID. Also, since it was a replacement phone under warranty it was probably a refurb, and I don´t have any other packaging on which the IMEI could appear. As a result I have no friggin´ clue how to get the lock off and allow me to use the 3g network as before.
Should I try flashing the stock rom and radio, or just the stock RUU, and see if I can get the unlock code to work?
Or is it hopeless and in that case should I give up and buy a ****ty candy bar phone?
Thanks in advance!

I had a similar scenario while I went to NZ. I thought I unlocked my phone prior to leaving, but didn't. I called verizon tech support and got a new code, plugged into the settings and then I was able to insert the prepaid SIM I bought. Here is the non 1-800 number for you to call (I had to get my brother-in-law to call them and get a non 1800 number because it is not listed on their website): 1-908-559-4899.
Try that and hopefully they can get you a new code to use. Good luck.

I just talked to Tech support today and got an unlock code... it´s not working however. I´ve put in a card, and it doesn´t show up. When I go to the SIM Lock under Options>Security, it says the code I enter is incorrect. Also, the phone shows no signal. Could it be that I just flashed a bad radio that supported CDMA and not GSM? Or is it something with MIUI? I was pretty certain that both the radio and the ROM were fine for GSM networks...

I got that to work. Thank you! I later installed CM7 to try it out and surprisingly enough that didn´t work.
AOKP did for me-although they are both confirmed to be working with GSM? Anyway, I realized I never flashed gapps with the AOKP, so I tried to flash with the latest version (no coffee, late night) and ended up tweaking the install. Anyway, I re-flashed and I have to say that this setup (AOKP with Nova) is the slickest setup I´ve ever used! It´s been an intense couple days flashing ROM´s, reading about all the stuff that kept popping up, but then end result is so worth it!
Anyway, I´m off to go caress my telephone...oh yes.

Hy guys,
I have a situation and need some advices
I have the opportunity to buy NOTE2 for a very fair price, BUT device cant read a sim card :-S (with sim card inserted)
Device does not have a waranty (because it is bought out of my country, to be specific it is from austria), and seller said he is not take it to a service center. so there is no diagnosis what is wrong with it.
I have not seen the device yet, but i will see it in about two days. Seller said that the device is almost new, and it is fully functional except the sim card.
I was ask him is maybe sim slot is broken (people cut regular sim card, and stuff), he said no (he also not sure, because he exchanged it for something else etc).
But nevermind, I will see if it is hardware problem (lets say that I am experienced in this ). I would like to see broken sim card slot, because it is replacable . But lets get to the part where I need advices. possible software problems
I read through forum, and there is various problems and solutions, and also there are few with no solution
I need help with my check list:
1: I will check the IMEI. If there is no one, I will give up
2: If there is IMEI, lets say that there is a chance (maybe someone flash a different rom etc). My qouestion is: Will I be able to make a proper backup of EFS? ,Then try to flash different, modem, kernel, rescue rom, etc... Without a chance to loose IMEI? (properly getting back with efs backup)
3: I read that there are few guys who bought a retail version of the note (the one without radio chip at all). Is there a way to recognize such? (i dont remmember if this version have imei, or not)
4: Is there a chance that device is only locked. What message appear in that situation (no sim, wrong sim, type unlock code or something similar ?)
5: What are the chances that maybe the radio chip is blown , If we assume that the device is relatively new and not dissasembled or something (I know that this is hard to recognize, but maybe, some services code or something)
6: Is there a some kind of service mode to check if the radio chip is functional
So to conclude: If you guys can help me with the check list, feel free to add tips.
I am sorry for this long post.
Thanks in advance
wow, posted a question last nigh, and now it is on a third page lol
lets bump
So once again, my main question is: Is there some service code/mode to check whether the radio chip is functional/or whether is the radio chip existing in a device?
the rest I will leave to chance
again, thanks in advance
Go to a your local telephony service provider, give them the phone's IMEI and inquire about it if it has been black listed. If your device's IMEI has been blacklisted IDK if there's a tool to clone/change it to a newer one. Once the device's IMEI has been blocked, that process is irrevocable unless the previous owner clears the issue for you.
Blocking IMEI happens usually to phones with unsettled payments for the phone unit.

Thank you, that is sound intersting, and when I've thought about it can be possible cause.
This device came from Austiria to my country, so If we assume that the IMEI is black listed; Whether this can be checked by any carier/service provider? or just one where phone is bought?
thanks again
if it is carrier locked then you should still able to dial emergency number isn't?
in hardware issue you can't.

Just like what dr.ketan said(which is the easiest way to troubleshoot it), try dialing the emergency number wait for the ring(a single ring, then put it down - don't try to call again if it does ring) and if someone answers your call - say the matter has been solved. The phone is network locked.
Thanks guys, I was reading a lot through forum, and my head is full of ... so I overlooked the logical solution
Thanks again, will try check phone maybe tomorow, and I will let you know
