I installed the newest O2 on my Orange M650 this morning, and I set up my TomTom 6.03, I update the QuickGps with WIFI connexion. AND MY TOMTOM WORKS ! I GOT GPS FIX ABOUT 40 SECONDS.
Of course O2 WM6.
GPS of M650 goes with all the roms since one installs the patch of Kulbutor!

you're quite lucky. i never get my gps to work with any other roms except orange's. once i got it to work with the b&b v3.7, but that was one time and ONE TIME only. after that, it couldn't find gps device anymore. i suggest you let your new rom running for a few days and try your gps like a few more times and see if it's still there.

Erm... I think most other roms use quickGPS and not Agps?
I've installed on 4 different M650 B&B3.7 or HTC WM5 roms ans the GPS works, you just need the patch...

yes, it's the same thing with me. i always need to install kulbutor's patch before i can get the gps to work again. but without that, it doesn't work with any other rom.

I can confirm that BB 3.7 can not allow all M650 have GPS function normally, and you really need Kulkutor's magical patch (chapeau), otherwise, with O2 WM6 you get QuickGPS, no A-GPS( which is only from Orange's Rom), but it is same, perhas different from paying or not your Orange's bill for using A GPS.

i had an spv M650 with orange operator.
Now, i have unlocked it and i had changed my sim card for vodaphone but i don't know how to use quickgps instead agps from orange because the application quickgps is not integrated in the pda.
I have tried to put the quickgps files into the windows directory but it doesn't works.
actually, the fix is very, very, very long.

I have the same problem. But I reflashed my SPV M650 in HTC P3300 french ROM, I now have GPSRAPIDE which is french name of quickgps. still the quickgps servers are still down. I can not get any upgrade of gpsfix.

I called HTC french support team, they told me I should change the "Port matériel GPS" on com9, and bauds débit at 9600.
Now my tomtom can get gps for about 1-2 minutes near the windows inside the room. I didn't try in open area. But my GPSrapide still does not get connected to any server.
I have a locked CID P3300, and today I could upgrade to wm6 using a great post in these forums, but when I installed TomTom6 and selected Internal GPS, TomTom indicates that no GPS was found, when I upgraded my device radio and ext rom couldn't be upgrade due upgrade restrictions, maybe this files doesn't upgrade are desabling my Internal GPS?

Try to select in TomTom: the other NMEA GPS reciever.
At baudrate 4800 and on COM 4 TomTom is working great for me.

hi there strangely enoough I have the same problem GPS does not work anymore.. to make it even worse I have flashed a T-Mobile WM5 ROM back and NO GPS and before I had GPS with this ROM, I tried HTC ROM, T-Mobile, DOPOD AND with all NO GPS! this is very weird!
Pocha can you try to flash a WM5 rom back an tell us if your GPS worked again?

At this moment I'm downgrading to wm5 I hope in 15 mins all process finished in good way... then I will test TomTom while I crossing my fingers...

Ok I hope yours will work again after the WM5 downgrade! mine did not unfortunatly! but it can also be bad luck and my chip just did and it has nothing to do with upgrading..

I got everything working by flashing is like so:
WM5 UK tmo -> WM6 O2 German. Stop at screen settings at first run of german rom -> Run WWE rom, complete install. -> Install Cert_SPCS and EnableRapi TO Internal storage, run Dutch WM6 rom..
Now got WIFI and GPS working..
Any other way of flashing get me stuck at boot or without GPS, WIFI or BT..
Camera works fine, speed is ok.. Seems faster then WM5.. But time will tell..
Thumbs up to the the maker of WWE and Dutch rom..

I have a MDA Compact III to, but the strange thing is that when I install the UK T-mobile rom and then try Tomtom it still does not detect a GPS device as it used to do! it always worked on the T-mobile rom and now all of a sudden it stopped working..
Downgrade finished right, now I have again wm5 and my TomTom works fine again, uffff !!!
I reviewed GPS Settings:
GPS program port: COM4
GPS hardware port: (None) Baud rate: 4800
Yes Manage GPS automatically.
This weekend I will try again to upgrade to wm6, and I will use this settings to check if GPS works fine...

I have the same problem, my GPS doesn't work any more, with NO GPS app! I have a German HTC and flashed the German O2 image. Downgrading is kinda difficult, didn't work. Does anyone have a German WM5 Rom? I'd rather put the old one back on there until a working GPS enabled version is out.

Wierd, do you have the original Tomtom shiped with the HTC?? I have a install cd from t-mobile, works fine if I flash from art_tmouk_11311001_024990_wwe_ship to German O2 to Dutch custom.. Any other way of flashing then wifi, BT and GPS don't work on my device..
Did you installed some GPS app such us GPS viewer, or a navigation program such us TomTom?, because in WM6 Dutch Rom by bepe you will find in system sheet an icon called External GPS, there try to use the settings that I wrote in last post, and then use some GPS program to verify if GPS works or not...

My GPS is working after a soft reset, I think I messed up something with the ports, I use GPS Gate. Now everything is ok!!!
I have upgraded my HTC P3300 CID-Locked to WM6 and GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth are all working nicely. I am using iGO GPS application as well as several others.
Please tell us, wich wm6 did you used?, when I upgraded my HTC-P3300, I used WM6 Rom by bepe, but since my HTC is CID-Locked I only could upgrade OS using a post in these forums which talk about that... btw this weekend I will try again to upgrade to wm6 and then I will use GPS settings that I post before, and this time I will install those CAB (rapi and other CAB file which appears in procedure)

For people that are having problems with DXHC4 Radio, i would recommend they switch back to the XIHA7 radio..
I have had to do this to get back my gps connection with Garmin (Program Port 1, hardware port 9)

i got some experience in this.
the best method for radio upgrading is that, always do radio upgrade before rom upgrade.
i encounter one of this gps issues before. I update rom to ms rom and then update the radio. then i can detect my gps but i can't receive any signals. thus, i re update the radio again and update the rom after radio. it works then.
i am using dxhc radio now, and gps is working fine.
avantis, you may want to try flashing the dxhc radio first and then flashing the rom.

I would love to flash this for the Swedish rom is so full of bugs. But is there anyone knowing how to keep the Swedish keyboard layout ?
Same here with layout. I saved the registry to a file. Then I flashed the new rom. I ve changed the keyboard layout registry but when I reset the registry key contains the old value...

DXHC4 - PDA and PHONE, updated using Mirage and the PHONE+PDA+EBOOT img file yesterday...
And today, I updated the PDA part to DXHD1 ..
Set COM8 in the first GPS settings tab and enabled assited GPS
... and Garmin WORKS no problem... will try TomTom now
edit ................ TomTom works flawless too

so I suggest flash the full 3in1 i780DXHC4 rom first, get the combo-hardkey hardreset feature and new phone rom, then flash this DXHD1 PDA only rom,
The Italian Radio works out of program port 1..the DXHD1 radio works out of program port 8? Strange but useful information nevertheless..

I was so simple with the Tytn II to keep the keboard layout. Hopefully someone finds out how to do that with i780 so we can start flashing So tired of the swedish bugridden rom but will find the phone pretty useless without the swedish layout

Hi, i think you must set gps windows settings first: i set COM4 on "GPS data PORT" and NONE on "hardware GPS port" (with 4800 Bauds)
Than flag the option about the automatic GPS configuration
After, you should try different gps configuration by TOMTOM menu (my current setting is "integrated GPS", and it works"),
but other configuration (like "external GPS") could works.
What is your Artemis?
P3300 or SPV M650?
If it is SPV M650, use the patch called "Kulbutor"

If you've got a SPV M650 and want to keep the A-GPS function with another cook Rom than Aje's Rom, you must do it, no choice
It is available for B&B Rom, Artemis Touch Rom....

I have a similar problem. I have been given an old (working) T-mobile Artemis. GPS worked fine - until I unlocked it so that I could use it with my O2 contract. Result - no GPS.
I've checked the device for any mention of GPS anywhere and there is none. QuickGPS button does not link to any program.
If you get any response I'd appreciate it if you could clue me in.

Also have the same problem...
t-mobile pda with new wm6 rom (not original).
The gps connects to satellites but slowly and uncontinously... my tomtom navigator 6 cannot find a valid gps signal even if the gps try to connect and the gps led light falshes...
any news?

Try upgrading the radio ROM (search xda dev for discussion on best ones)
My father and I both have wm6.5 with tomtom7. He gets a gps signal straight away in the same location as me, only difference is I downgraded my radio Rom to save battery drain. It takes me ages and I have to walk about to pick up the satellites.
So I recon the answer is in the radio rom which can be upgraded without changing your main rom.

I've got the same problem and have tryed the newest radio.
Tomtom shows 6 satelites with very strong signal, but it doesent fix. The Satelites are all shown in the north on the same position. The rom has been flashed to original but it did not fix. Any ideas ?
Be glad you even have a signal!!! My Artemis isn't even getting a signal at all :-(
I've solved my problem....I've flashed with Tom_b_b_v3_wwe_650 ROM...and my GPS was alive......then I've flashed with my ROM..Arte_Love_WM61_21042_Simple...
Or...if you want ...you can stay with Tom's ROM...it work's very well.....

So did mine. I used extern Antenna. Change in Tomtom from intern GPS to extern, 4800, com 4.
I tried several times and it worked but no FIX.
Time for an upgrade, I suppose
