hi I'm having problems with my dash please help??? - HTC Excalibur

HI i installed the SurrealNetworks App Unlock in order to install more applications on my dash. After I installe the App unlock I rebooted my dash and app was installed successfully. now I want to install Pocket Nester Plus in order to play NES ROM Files. I put Pocket Nester Plus and NES ROM FILES in my micro sd card which is 1gb card. NOw my question is how do I run the application Pocket Nester Plus from my micro sd card. how do i access my micro sd card on my dash. I read once you run the Pocket Nester Plus then you can select the Rom you want to play.
Please help I am lost right now can't get it to work. I can't access my memory card micro sd card.
anybody help if you know how to do this.
Thanks, please email at [email protected] or reply here

Hey CARINIOSO,
I'm running WM6, so this may be a tad different for you, but the basic idea is the same. Download the .CAB file for Pocket Nester plus and dump it on your SD card. Then, go to Start->File Explorer. File Explorer defaults to the \My Documents directory... press the "up" softkey to get to the root of your Dash, the just scroll down to "storage card". Find the .CAB file, select it, and it should install for you. Hope that helps!

Can't reliably connect with my device after Upgrading ROM

I upgraded my T-Mobile with PPC 2002 to the WM 2003 final ROM cooked in Lumpi Stephan's kitchen.
Ever since then, if I try and deploy a Visual Studio.Net application to the device, it more often then not says it can not establish a connection with the device, even though Active Sync is connected and synched up.
This problem is preventing me from trying to put on another ROM via USB craddle using Jeff's OSIMage Tool.
I do understand I can use an SD card to upgrade the ROM, however that doesn't solve the connection problems.
Does anyone have any idea why I'd be getting this error and any suggestions on how to fix it?
Thanks for your help in advance!
Have you tried flashing with sd card using xdatools and nbf file with sd memory card?
how do I use the SD card?
I just ordered a card to see if I can resolve this issue....
Here is my scenario. I don't have a SD card reader on my computer. But I do have two PPC's - one that is working with Active sync and XDATools recognizes, and one that XDATools isn't seeing though Active Sync IS seeing it.
Can I use XDATools to put the ROM on my desktop to the SD card that is inserted into my working PPC, then put the SD card into my half-assed working PPC and install it somehow (of how to do that I am clueless)?
Suggestions? Answers?
Thank you much
You need to download a rom and choose sd card flashing at the base of screen before flashing, you will then unzip the downloaded file, you will have an nbf file, this file will be used by xdatools to program the sd card in the card reader on your pc, When using xdatools, choose the nbf file as source and choose the sd card in the reader from the drop down menu under destination, once it is programmed you insert the card to the phone, push reset while holding power, push centre of 4 way rocker switch when prompted, once finished push once in hole below headset socket, wait one minute and push once more, your phone should now reboot with the new rom.

Storage Card 2???

Yesterday I've re-installed my MDA Pro.
I use the QTek 1.30.77 WWE ROM, QTek 1.30.176 WWE extended ROM and the 1.11 Radio ROM.
After the hard reset I've installed all the programs from the extended rom and after that I cleared out the extended rom and used this for some SPB Apps (Not Pocket Plus, I installed this one on my local device).
But now when I perform a soft reset, the phone changes the name of my SD card to "Storage Card 2" and it creates a directory "Storage Card" where a temporary internet files directory is located.
I also used a reg tweak to let IE store my temp internet files on my SD card, but now it seems that when I reset my MDA it creates a temporary internet files directory when the storage card isn't detected yet.
But I haven't had this problem before.
Is there anyone who has a solution? Because now some programs are installed on my storage card and they don't work because the path to the executables is wrong. Maybe it has something to do with installing programs on my extended rom???
Why this happens:
If for any reason it cannot find the SD on boot (fast enough) it will create a folder called Storage Card to put the temp files (or inbox or whatever) so that the path \Storage Card\... exists. Now as soon as the SD becomes available, since there is already a folder called Storage Card it is forced to name itself Storage Card 2.
Solution: Delete the "Storage Card" folder and soft reset.

Yes I gues this is the problem. I already tried your solution, but it won't help. It will create a new directory with the name Storage Card so that my SD card again will be renamed to Storage Card 2.
Move the temp internet files back to the main memory and delete the folder. Apparently it does not read your card fast enough.
Going to try that. But I just don't understand. I have a SanDisk 2g Ultra 2 SD card, so the card is fast enough. I never had this problem before, just after the hard reset from yesterday.
I know have linked the temporary internet files folder to my local machine and it seems that this works!
Only I still want to know if there's a solution so that I can store my temp ie files to my SD card without the issue of the "storage card 2".
I remember reading this problem before. I believe the solution can be found on Buzz's Ext ROM Unlocker thread.

Couldn't find that in the post, but I reset my device again and didn't installed programs on my extended rom. This seemed to work, so maybe that was the problem.
thanks, i freaked out, almost done a hard reset, then searched XDA through google, found this solution, it worked 100%.
thanks guys

Extended ROM / ExtendedROM problems.

Hello. I've had the MDA Pro for quite a while now. I've unlocked it, I've upgraded the ROM and I've unlocked the ExtendedROM. My problem now is that everytime I unlock the ROM and install my apps on the Storage Card, after some time my Storage Card is renamed from "Storage Card" to "Storage Card2" and all my apps that were installed there don't work obviously as the shortcuts for the programs point to the Storage Card and not the Storage Card2. Also my message attachment folder which was on the Storage Card gets moved to either the ExtendedROM or a new folder "Storage Card\inbox....". Why is this happening? I unlocked the ExtendedROM so that only the cabs that I want are installed. If I rename the Storage Card to SD Card or anything else in the registry, my inbox attachment folder also goes into one of the two locations mentioned. The ROM unlocker was one that I this website called "130SP_Uni_Extrom_Unhider_Spec ial" which for some reason I can't find the post. What am I not doing or doing wrong?? Currently I've hidden the ExtendedROM from the registry key "Mount Hidden". Any help is appreciated. Is anyone else having this problem?
Do a search for Buzz Extended ROM Unlocker and you will find a solution in one of the thread. I remember reading it a while back. I think it is under the Universal threads. It might also be a sticky in there.

Storage Card utility?

Hi,
My HTC 621 is having problems 'seeing' my SD Micro card.
It worked flawlessly for about a month, now it won't show up.
I can open it from my desktop, but when it's inserted back to the HTC, i won't show up (or might for a day, then disapears).
I don't have another SD to try.
Any advice?
Are there any storage card utilities out there for the dash?

Im not sure about a utility program for a card but if i was you, backup whats on your card on your computer. In case it is your card.
Some time when you do format to sdcard in a computer this format is diferent to the format that do the phone.try format from phone . OR the sdcard is bad.
good luck
back up the card and format with something like sktools or a similar application. see if that helps. if so, import all your stuff back to the card and you should be all set.
help!!!

sounds like you have bluetooth ftp enabled.
do this..... open up comm manager . press right sift key. select bluetooth, then select ftpm then see if bluetooth file explorer and enable file sharing are checked.... if they are , uncheck them ... see if that helps

ok...i unchecked both of the boxes and then rebooted my phone. i then went into my file explorer and the only thing that changed was there was no folder for my 'Storage Card' but a folder named 'Bluetooth Share' was added and its empty... i tried taking my card out and putting it back in but it still does the same thing.

Sounds like either your storage card is toast( or flaky) or somehow you've formatted it and the format is somehow incompatible with the phone

Memory Card Problem

Hey up until yesterday my memory stick could be used in WMPlayer on wm6.1 but when i update library list it finds the files but it freezes when adding to library...i can play files if i go open file in wmp or in audio manager but not in Windows Media Player... Also my memory stick wont open as a removable drive when i activate WMStorage...any idea's? thanks
can you put memory card in a card reader? make sure you can see hidden files and delete the folder that wmp uses, cant remember the name of it?
then try to update library again.
1) clean out your SD card slot.
2) error check your SD card via your computer
3) Tick "show hidden files" in folder options and del a WMP meta data file.
