anybody has VOIP working? - P3300, MDA Compact III ROM Development

Is there anybody who has got VOIP working on their Artemis?
I am using the B&B3.7 and can get a connection via wifi, however the other party can hear me but I cannot hear them...
I have read a lot on this forum but can't find the correct settings/files/registry hacks ....
thanx

Try mine :

yes, it works with this file installed and SIP settings for "carpo" in Germany. However it worked only in regards to start and receive calls. the call quality was VERY poor, understood only a few words. No idea yet what´s the problem or how to improve.
Is there anybody out there who is able to make calls with acceptable quality?

ok tks for the help...
the video call 100% working. i've tested it with both parties. no worry.
also fully functional here, working on all WM6 till now I tested
got this weird problem though when receiving (only) video call, that the still (default pic) came out & the video won't change to show receiver's video despite tapping the still pic etc. (caller video is shown perfectly)
..this does not happen when making video calls from my end.. everythings is perfect (using lvsw 26-03-07 ROM)
tried to look for solution in video call option/settings.. but to no avail..
any ideas?
thanks in advance..
in the phone app. menu video call options. there should be a setting to flag that says something like disable camera when receiving a video call.
seemed like an setting but worked for me on wm5. however... I don't want need or use vc on wm6 so can't test for u.

I780 and Skype

Hey guys,
Some people are claiming that Skype works properly on their I780... For me it doesn't... I can use it with a headset or the handsfree but the internal speaker (the one for normal phone calls) doesn't work. I've tried several Roms to check if there is one which makes Skype work but nothing worked...
So, I was just wondering if you could tell me about your experience with Skype. Is it working properly for you? If so, please let me know what you did to make it work.
Thanks guys!
no comments about skype on the I780? Does nobody wanna use it?

As far as I know, Skype, or any other software, can't use the speaker that you would normally use for phone calls on Windows Mobile devices. Only the internal phone- and VoIP-application of Windows Mobile is allowed to use the speaker of the phone. All other applications must use the speaker on the back.
So there is no way to get this to work, unless Microsoft adds access to this speaker through their API.
I use Skype sometimese and it's really driving me mad that I can't use it with built-in phone speaker or BT headset.
It also seems not using all available bandwidth so the quality is only acceptable.
skype works on my i780.
one day i was in samsung service centre to upgrade my rom, the samsung service personel noticed my i780 had skype installed. he asked how i managed to get it works. lol
i told him i dont know, i just download and install

So you are saying that your skype is working properly? You can use the earpiece of the phone to call people? Sorry man, but I think you are confusing something. I found out that some people thought their earpiece would be working but what they heard came from the handsfree speaker. If you turn down the volume of the handsfree speaker, it kind of sounds like the internal earpiece speaker... Can you check again please?
the phone would be just perfect with skype functionality but it cant use the normal earpiece...
Did anyone find a solution?
Maybe Skype Mobile 3 Beta is worth of checking out.
for my skye works (even trough normal built in speaker), but only wifi. Is it posible my provider (t-mobile nl) has disabled the port or something?
It looks like some of you don't pay atenttion to what is written here, and keeps asking the same question.
As Ralph said, there is no way to get around it. It's not just a Skype problem, It doesn't work with all the others third party applications.
The same thing happends with the front camera in all the Instant Messengers. It just doens't work.

I have the same problem but I found a trick!!
Launch Skype with no wifi.
Switch Wifi on (it is fine even if u are in an area with protected only or no access point at all).
You'll notice that your status will become available (green).
Switch Wifi off.
Don't ask me why.....but it seems to work!!

Do you mean that you can hear Skype call via earpiece?? Are u sure? It is not supported by skype it self!! In my opinion you are confusing the sound source. I'll be more than happy to be wrong.
Can u post your i780 ROM ans Skype version?

What I do is to turn the volume down of the loud speaker (use the rocker etc) and when you put the phone to your ear: face the screen outwards so the loud speaker is on the ear.
is in this version support call when is device connect via activesync?

Please google search for Audio Route.
Is there anybody who's able to make a call with skype mobile. Everytime I'm trying to call somebody, skype is freezing and I have to softreset my device.
I've tried it with v2.5 and now I thought, that maybe v3.0 has fixed this issue, both versions with no luck though.
How can it be, that fring is working flawlessly, even the internal speaker is working, and the skype devs. are implementing new features without fixing old issues
I'm running Dutty's v3.3 XT and had this bug also with the german stock ROM.

Ok I will try to install it into Device memory.
Thx for your reply!

EDIT: Installation into internal memory didn't help. Skype still freezes a few seconds after the call has been established...I'm back on fring for now, which is working very well, allthough I like the Skype UI more than the fring one.
skype video
hi
do you know if / when skype will work with video as the hd has forward facing video camera for video calls.
would be nice to talk face to face with other skype users whilst away from the pc
Skype on internal speaker
i have a little Add on for skype that enables it to run on the internal speaker not the external, just like a normal phone call, im not on home pc at the mo so when i am, i will upload i onto here, all you do is run it first and leave it running while using Skype its that simple
Hang on i have it here
Here it is for your enjoyment !!!!!
Yea, Video calling would seriously be nice for Skype Mobile because not everyone lives in the very few 3G areas that exist.

Anyway of it running automatically when Skype is turned on, maybe a toggle switch?

WM 6.5 SIP Client w/ Dialpad and Mute Function

Hi Guys,
I currently use free SIP service and google voice together with onedialer to make phone calls through Data. I currently use FRING as the SIP client, though it works good, but it doesn't have dialpad...so i can't enter tone responses (the windows dialer's dialpad tone sounds for some reason also doesn't work during SIP call) and neither does it have mute functionality during SIP call.
Is there any SIP client with these feature...i know WM has inbuilt SIP client...does it have these 2 features...its lot of work to enable it in..so just want to make sure beforehand
Regards,
ok pardon my noobiness above...so I configured the built in sip client and found it work just like regular call...and also it sucks compared to fring...there is more lag, sound breaking compared to fring(on phone data plan and even on wi-fi) and it misses incoming SIP calls too some times...
So is there any other solution?
You can try this one ..I've had good results with it.

Well I've tried both PortSIP and Agephone....both are good clients but none of them are able are as successful on T-mobile Edge network as Fring...it somehow manages to get adequate audio quality to get talks done...maybe it uses low bandwidth or something...The others have choppy/muffled voices in between
Is there any other client as successful as this? i've tried Nimbuzz, but it has the same problem as others..

[Q] voip sip prgrm for hd mini?

hi everyone,
does anybody know a working voip sip program for htc hd mini?
i've tried without success:
adoresoftphone
SJphone
fring
and sip confg tool - which I manage to make an outgoing call of which I could hear the other side but they only heard digital noises - and the phone got frozen without the ability to make another regular call.
I also tried gizmo5 - which works great on my pc, but I cant config it to do the same on my phone.
that's it I think,
help?
Havent tried voip, but although there is no support anymore, doesnt Skype work? You can still download the WinMo version through the unofficial sites...
what is the winmo version?

skype ofcourse works, but i'm talking about using a different sip provider, with user and pass and server.
what is the winmo version?
as I wrote before I used the operating system option for internet calling - which was only partialy successful, since I managed to make the call, but my voice was distorted.
PORTGO (PortSIP for CE)
Try this, it work for my HD MINI
i tried wm6voip + sipconfig, managed to get it work (at least to call a mobile phone in france from a low speed wifi hotspot in china) but the sound was not very good.
i need to try in better conditions to have an opinion, but it is not very convenient (have to disable HTC Sense to enable/disable internet calls via SIP)
thanks i will try portgo and let you know
i just downloaded the soft here:
w w w .portsip.com/wm-softphone.htm
after installation, it executes, but big slow down (lag) and some parameters makes the phone freeze, i had to reboot!
i have to test it anyway, but another issue is, seems you have to build a new contact list, it does not take the ones from Windows Mobile...
let's see
no incoming audio
