Hi, I have spent all day trying to unlock my mda, i have followed two methods one one to install lokiwiz and open this with my phone on active sync connected to pc, it opens then says your simlock code is your code type it in with a diff sim?
I have then put my new sim in the phone and it is asking for an unlock code 8 digits long?
I then tried another method of using Enablerapi.cab which open on your phone and this seemed to be going great, used lockiwiz on pc and the it told me to type in U for unlock, after following this method it still asks for the code!!!
PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME!! IVE WASTED ALL SUNDAY ON THIS!

follow the instructions exactly
Hi and thanks for your reply, wish i found that guide yesterday!
I am following it exactly but only got as far as the downgrade rom, it came up unable to update your pda with this software, please get up to date software? (not exact words).
Sorry but I am not PC minded at all, but can follow instructions so confident with your help i will get there in the end.
Thanks again
PS
Just checked the IPL etc and it is a G4 phone???????? does that mean it can not be unlocked, had the 2.21 with lots of 000000's.
Thanks
firstly my i'm sorry to hear you have a g4
secondly, i'm not sure about the details (get busy with google) but you CAN flash other roms it just takes more effort. I think that you need to flash roms which do not include a ipl & spl
check out post #230 in this thread (i use this rom btw)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=288074&page=23
good luck
i just read eslewhere that you need to pay to unlock it
I know there's the free CID unlock method... it works well and I've done it a number of times already. I'm thinking though tat I'd rather pay (if necessary) to just permanently CID unlock my phone so I don't have to hassle with it every time I want to install a new ROM.
My phone is already SIM unlocked. Is there a service out there that'll just CID unlock for me (since I don't need the SIM unlock)??
Thanks for the info!
I think is impossible to make a permanent CID unlock simply because the files from new ROM are always locked . But I can't understand the problem here - just one click and the phone is onlocked again. I make unlock after new Flash, but not before Flash, coz I am always shure that i will flash again tomorow.
In fact I doesn't restart after unlock (I know I know this is procedure, but I can Flash without restart after unlock).

Is the CID unlock (e.g. from IMEI check) permanent? Or do you have to re-run some program after each ROM flash?

The CID unlock from IMEI-check should be permanent. The CID bypass program that most of us use is the one that needs to be redone with every flash. I don't mind though. As littleclown was saying above, it only takes a few seconds to run the bypass and your phone is "flash-able" again.
Hi, i bought a few months ago from one guy one used HTC 3600 that i'm using with no problems.
Now i want to upgrade the current WM5 to WM6 using one of the roms that i found on this website.
From what i understood .. and i'm currently noob at this i need First to Unlock the HTC.. then i need to flash it with the new ROM.
Question is... how can i know if the mobile is already unlocked?
I believe that he currently accepts any SIM card and it's not SIM-LOCKED but i'm not sure if this is related to the ROM lock or something.
Help me out if you can.
And if it's unlocked or locked can i flash it anyway or it's mandatory that i need to unlock it to be able to flash it?
Not sure exactly where to post this as your forums are very American Carrier focused so I just went with model number.
I am just entering the world of rooting Android phones etc. so forgive my noob-osity but am eager to learn after realising this carrier phone really isn't MY phone.
I am wanting to use Chainfire's CF-AutoRoot to get root access on my Australian Vodafone GT-N7105T device however his instructions make very clear that the device will be bricked if I do not unlock the bootloader. I cannot seem to find a method of unlocking the bootloader for this specific device. Can anyone help with this?
Also just in general, some Rooting methods I have read about don't seem to "require" unlocking the bootloader or maybe haven't mentioned that it is part of the process.
Is unlocking the bootloader something that needs to be done ALWAYS when you root? I thought that unlocking the bootloader was only required if you wanted to flash custom ROMs and that having a locked bootloader did not prevent some rooting methods? If that is the case then I'm confused as to why Chainfire's CF-AutoRoot needs an unlocked bootloader as it's purpose is to leave everything stock?
Thanks for your assistance.
Hi all,
I have a HTC that when I bought it, they SAID it should have been unlocked but I don't know if that means my bootloader is unlocked or something else. how can I tell if my model is unlocked model (model is just HTC 10 and I don't have any provider software installed on it either) ... I mainly ask as Android 7 was released to unlocked HTC 10 last year but I got no OTA notifications that it is ready for me.
Also if this doesn't mean that the bootloader unlocked and I need to go through it at HTCDev, then I believe this will wipe the phone... so I need to backup my stuff before I can unlock the bootloader, so I can root my phone, so I can install my backup stuff (Titanium Backup) any help on this one? i'm used to Samsung so the changes in how things work I'm still getting my head around.
Nobody knows? Is this the correct part of the forums to ask this sort of question? I didn't want to post in the wrong section and this seemed to be the closest fit.

When you buy a phone and if seller says that phone is unlocked it usually means "carrier/sim unlocked". Your phone might be carrier unlocked, but bootloader unlock is different. When you unlock bootloader than phone gets wiped. Google servers usually backup your apps and some data, but videos/music/photos I backup on my PC by connecting phone to a computer and copying files to a folder.
If you bought directly from HTC w/o purchasing through a carrier (such as Sprint, AT&T, Verizon), then you have an "Unlocked Model". That's completely different from having an unlocked bootloader, which is not necessary to get the Nougat update. If you have an unlocked (carrier-free) HTC 10, then you should be able to get the update. I restored mine to stock, and was able to update to 7.0. It's possible that it's not available in your country yet, or that there's some funny software glitches occurring.
Hope that helps!
Thanks all for the confirmation. So from that I do know from when I got my phone, which was only 4 weeks ago, and no modifications to it whatsoever
a) my phone is carrier unlocked
b) I need to unlock my bootloader but to do that I need to backup my app data, Google didn't backupt he app data when I migrated phones, so all my apps were empty and brand new when it all restored to my new phone... oh well.
c) whilst i SHOULD be eligible for nougat as I have a carrier unlocked HTC 10, perhaps it isn't available in Australia for HTC yet. My colleague who has a pixel XL is still rubbing it in my face that he has 7.1.1 already
Thanks

Rats..... i'll just keep waiting, or wipe my device unlocking the bootloader so I can flash a custom ROM like Viper or the like. Decisions. Wonder when the rest of the world will get the update

Australia is usually last to get the update.
