Topright LED flashes red while trying to charge. - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Hi,
a friend has an issue with his SPV M2000 :
while connected to home charger(already checked connector), the topright LED is blinking red.
After a while, screens lights up, then lights off about 30 seconds later.
The PDA doesn't seem to really charge itself, even after a few hours.
I guess both primary and backup batteries are completely discharged.
(I couldn't find a description of a blinking red LED in manuals or Wiki/forum.)
Anyone could advise as to how to revive it ?

the main battery is dead
been there and got the t-shirt. buy a new main batterey, cheap on ebay.
cheers martin

R.I.P. beautiful Blue Angel ... dead forever?

I'll start by saying I don't have any prior history of this XDA IIs and what caused it to get to the point it is at now. All I can tell you is the things I have tried to revive it.. maybe someone knows some CPR for these things..haha. Anyway, I got this unit and first thing was I put the battery in the cradle ext charger with the orange charge LED "with the 5v PSU" and waited a few hours and the light turned green so I would start with a fully charged battery. I have tried holding down the power button, pressing reset + power, reset + camera + power, reset + camera + record + power. It seams this thing will not power on and/or enter bootloader. The charge LED does not light when the unit is in the cradle. However if I take the battery out and plug the XDA into the cradle the charge light turns red indicating a battery problem so at least something happens. One last bit of information, when I put the battery in and press the power button for the first time the charge led very breifly and faintly flashes green.. prob doesn't mean much. I have opened it up and everything looks good inside.. no corrosion as if it was dropped in water or something. What could cause it to go completely dead.. is there any hope at this point? If not I will probably just look for another "bad screen IIs" and use this screen.. could also sell the camera and back..
Bump. I am curious abou tthis.

What does a red battery charging led means ?

Hi all,
a friend of mine gave me a broken P3300 that just doesn't turn on. The first thing I've tried was charging the battery but I noticed something strange: the battery' status led is always red, even after some hours. I thought this PDA fell in water and had the battery charging circuitry broken, so I removed the battery but the led still remains red.
Edit: it doesn't even turn on in bootloader mode
Do you have some suggestions?
Thanks a lot!
Think it is the chargingsystem in the phone is damaged. Had a qtek 9100 a year ago and blew up that part with tomuch volts. Led turned red then to.

Flashing Orange light while charging?

I have just taken delivery of my second replacement MDAC3, and it looks like this one might have a problem too!
When I first switched it on, it got as far as the green wm6 screen then the led flashed red a couple of times and the unit switched itself off. I plugged a usb lead in, the orange charging led came on but only for 5 seconds and then started flashing. It did this for a bit then it started flashing green.
To cut a long story short(er) it seems that the phone will not charge the battery unless it is switched off, and even then it gets to 96% and stops and shows the green led
Question: does this sound like the symptoms of a duff battery, or a duff phone?
As the battery seems to have discharged itself in the 2-3 weeks that the phone has been away

Default Blinking amber
I have the same problem on my htc p3300, and when i used batti 2.4 i saw that the battery temperature is 432675.5 etc something fake temerature. This is the reason, why my pda unable to charge my battery. If you set your pda in bootloader mode, it will charge your battery!. After 3 or more times i charged it in bootloader mode somethimes the battery temp sensor works normally, and the charge is working as well. Sometimes not.
But you can charge your battery allways in bootloader mode.
Sorry for my English.
Try it!
Good luck!

help dopod 900 doesn't want to turn on

help..
i haven't use my dopod 900 for a month then when i'm about to use it i charge it first, minute after i noticed while charging the orange steady light turned to red light and it blinks. i disconnected the charger and when i'm about to remove my battery i noticed that my battery is bloated. a week after i bought a replacement battery. i tried charging again my new battery on my dopod 900 and still instead of steady orange light(sign that the phone is charging) the light is still red and it blinks. But there are times while charging the light is steady orange and that's the only time the dopod 900 turns on then after few minutes the light will turn red and blinks and the phone will turn off..
help..
The bloated battery is called cushioning and occurs when there is liquid damage. Your phone got liquid damage, you can see if I am correct by checking a small piece of what's supposed to be a white blotting paper, it can be found under your SIM card holder. It will be pink. If that's the case and combined with your description, I say your device is on the way out. Sorry.

Blinking amber and green and not charging

My touch Pro2 is blinking amber and green when power off and when powered on Also blinks and will not charge.
Read some posts it says it overheating, not mine it cool to touch and works fine. I don't think its the charge port because when power off I insert cable and it will go to amber or 5 seconds then that blinking alternating amber green.
does anyone know where the power magement ic is located on the board.
I going to try reflowing the entire board, but if I knew where the pm ic was would try that 1st. thanks.
already reset phone so it's not software issue.
It's either overheating or your battery needs to be replaced.
Before you go tearing your device apart, you could simply try another battery or try charging the battery outside of the device. Occasionally, when the battery level drops too low, the device doesn't have enough juice to charge at all and will fall into an infinite boot loop. It's easier and cheaper to just try an outside source to eliminate the obvious answers first.
