I use one similar that's all black to go with my Black Majik. Pretty much the same app someone changed a bit. Great stuff.

I dont know what this has to do with WM6 on a Hermes... but yeah I use it. It's great. There's also a HUGE thread about it in the development section of this forum.

I use the iContact created by someone here on XDA. Very similar.

just the job
Good find
quick and easy to use

I looked into this one too, but I don't see that you can select the first letter by just dragging up and down the side of sceen like the program on the page linked to in 1st post of this thread.

Simple Restart Application

I own a TMobile hTC HD7 and I have been waiting patiently for a "Restart/Soft Reset" Application to hit the Marketplace. I am actually quite surprised that not more people are interested in a simple app like that. There are countless times when my phone will start acting up or not loading applications properly, so I am constantly restarting my phone. A soft reset app would be a great addition to my phone app collection. This is more of a request as opposed to a rant. While I'm not as talented as some of the developers here, but I am quite sure that a simple restart application wouldn't be insanely hard to develop. Is there anyone out there that is willing to help me out? Or anyone else who thinks this would be a good idea? Or am I alone in this? Lol
Sent from my HD7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
yeah Me too.. I agree with you.. I hope someone will make a restart software or a task manager software...
Well its nice to know that I wasn't the only one who would like to see a Soft Reset Application with the Windows Phone 7 theme and feel as the UI. I hope someone amazing comes across this thread and makes this a reality.

Does it actually need a UI? Wouldn't a tile pinned to start do just fine? I mean, what would be included in the UI apart from a "reboot" button?
Well i guess it wouldn't need some crazy elaborate UI.... Just an icon nice enough to put on my home page.

Has a skilled developer heard my plea? And is willing to develop this totally useful application?

i am with you on this one, we need soft reset!
yes lets make the developers aware!
+1 on this.

I personally don't see a need for such an app but I'll knock something together over the weekend. So basically just an icon you place on your home screen that, when pressed, reboots your phone? right?
Yes something along those lines.... Obviously something that kinda fits the whole Windows Phone 7 Metro Theme... But the reason why I thought a UI would be necessary... Would be a Settings page... To have the icon that is placed on the homeacreen able to do different functions that each user could specify on their own. But definitely a way to simply Restart the phone...
Sent from Projekt hTC HD7
And yea man.. Thanks a lot for attempting this.... Like I have stated before... I am not a developer myself otherwise I would've made something like this a while ago... But I am quite sure that this wouldn't be an insanely difficult task.... But regardless your efforts are well appreciated... Looking forward to seeing this evolve.

Well, that just confused me again
Either you want a tile which will reboot your phone (for which I personally see no use - as it's easy enough to just press the power button for 2 seconds) or you want ... err, well ... something completely different
In any case, I've written an app that will do just this - clicking it will ask you if you want to reboot or shutdown the device. No bells or whistles - this is all it does. Will have to tidy up the code a bit, but I'll get it attached here later tonight or tomorrow.

You'd be surprised
There are no APIs available for this so I've had to write native code to get it working - which means it will never be available in the marketplace and will only run on developer-unlocked devices.
Yes, this will be a handy tool. Another added feature I've missed on WP7. This & a screen capture app are all I'm really missing, app-wise that is.
O man.. That kinda sucks for me... I don't have a unlocked device... Mine is Tmobile hTC HD7... but whatever then... I'm glad someone out there tried.. And allowed others to benefit from it... Thanks

Hi all have used the DLL Import work here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1006331
To create a simple restarter. Click the app and restart your phone. As it uses the native API's it can't be put on the marketplace but for anyone with a dev unlocked phone simple deploy the XAP and all is good.

Yes please. This stinks. I guess i must have something with having readers scroll thru as much info before making a post.
But you cant destroy the user experience for all the rest just because of a few.

Never thought about it this way, but that could be one reason. However it's pretty annoying, for example, when you're looking through a thread to figure out where you are, and you go to the next page, see that you've been on this one already, and have to go to the bottom to go to the next page. And since the bottom of the page is not actually where the next page button is, it takes some time.

Hope you find the bug as soon as possible because this situation is very annoying.
Scroll down to bottom of page and change theme from xda 2010 to xda classic and you will have upper page jump back. It changes the look, but you will have the jump back.
I'm glad to know it's a bug, I thought I changed something
It's indeed very annoying without it.
Good luck finding the bug.
btw, if I switch to 'hybrid mode' I get the page numbers back. But it's a not really in the right place. Maybe it helps.
It has been restored now.
thank you

[Q] [Question] New XDA Forum Theme

Hey XDA world!
I am, FINALLY, going to ask about the new forum theme.
I always revert back to the old forum theme, because when I try to use the new one, I have to scroll left and right to input my username and password... or have to scroll left and right to read or see the whole page. This happens on my phone AND on my laptop... but doesn't happen on either when I use the old theme.
When I revert to the old theme, I see the entire page and it's so much easier to use.
Otherwise, I would use the new and improved theme.
Is there any way to fix this scrolling problem or is that just the way it is? And does anyone else not use the new theme because they are also running into this problem?
Forgive me if this had been posted about.
I looked at the post suggestions, but nothing came up.
Thanks guys!

Thank you for moving to the appropriate location.
I was originally going to post it there... then at the bottom it had a box to check if my post was a question, so I checked the box. Then it notified to move it to the Q&A, so I assumed maybe it should go there.
It was just kind of confusing.
Anyways, thank you!!

Disabled open in a new tab by scroll-wheel click

I don't know why but such useful browser feature doesn't really work on XDA-Developers forums. For example I see a itneresting new on the right side widget. I middle mouse button click it, but it won't open in a new tab, but instead it will open in the current tab just like I would left click it. I can give you numbers of similiar behaviours like that over the xda. That's really annoying.
Why is that happening and are you guys ever going to fix it?

Suggest you try an alternate browser.
Also try a fresh profile in case something in your current profile is the cause.
Its not working for me can you suggest me an other way ?
Does it still work correctly on other sites?
Not a Chrome user so can't really help with it.
General troubleshooting though. Try other sites. Try a clean profile.
Try other tools with the problem site.

It does work correctly on every other website. There's no "clean profile" option in chrome and I have no idea what do you mean by "other tools".
This issue happens with particular stuff, like the widget with the news on the right side of the thread view.

Just middle button pressed "XDA PORTAL POSTS" news and it still opens up on the same tab. Even on 2015 / 2015 dark theme :/
I'd actually would prefer to use the old theme either way so I could use Dark XDA Stylish theme by @GermainZ as for me it looks much better. Just a presonal preference.

We had additional google analytics code on those links, my guess is that was blocking the open in new tab option. We made this change a long time ago so this must have been long-standing.
