Hi.
a few newbie questions.
1. Is it possible to update new ANZ ROM to factory unlocked European version of HTC?
2. Is there swedish/finnish keyboard layout and T9 on that ANZ ROM?
3. Is there Cooked Rom available based on latest Official (and fixed 28% problem). Not PDAVIET because I want original splash screen, and no other than original applications.
this thread will allow you to flash the new ROM to your phone without issues..
if you're unsure, take a look at my flashing guide
i download pdaviet HTC_Trinity_3.00.07.08.PV but its locked what the password and where its gone

Hi, I am from India. I just bought HTC P3300 with MapAsia(MapKing) installed for my region.
I am looking forward to put a cooked ROM with wm6.1, but the problem is I want to backup my original ROM incase i need to take it to HTC for some hardware problem within the warranty period.
Is there any way by which i can make my PDA as it was on the first day even after putting a COOKED ROM?
I mean putting back my country specific original ROM.
Please give a note of help and also gv me the specific links to putting COOKED ROMS from scratch including unlocking(cid unlocking and all...) and all that as I am new to WM platform.
Thanks
Cheers.
You cannot backup your rom. You can backup the installed programs and settings. But not the rom itself. But why bother? On the HTC site you can download the original wm6 rom.
Hi..
Actually I had the same question. But since you say it's not possible I just ask where in HTC web site are the wm6 original roms? Are all languages available?
Thanks
i think on HTC web site you need to register (club or something) to download a rom. but those official ROMs can also be downloaded elsewhere.
check the wiki upgrade section for infos on ROMs.
--> list of original shipped ROMs
its available on the site itself!!!
here is the link....
i did not try anything!!!

Okay, So I have seen a lot of posts latley in numerous rom threads about people having problems after flashing new roms.
Symptoms:
- Frozen Splash screens after:
* Flashing new rom
* Installing new apps after flashing new rom's
- Hard Resets after
* Flashing new rom
* Installing new apps after flashing new rom's
Solution: (download links and thread links listed at bottom of post)
I have expirienced these isues on multiple roms and have come to the concluion it has nothing to do with these rom makers compiling bad, non-compliant roms so don't be quick to blame them!
I am no expert but I am sharing what has worked for me in this order (the solution is simple and easy enough for newbies to carry out):
1. Flash a stock WM6 Rom from your carrier. (download links below)
2. Flash Hard-SPL (I use Olipro 2.10)
3. Flash new rom.
4. Optional: Flash desired radio.

*Notes: It is perfectly fine to flash WM6.1 over a sock WM6 ROM.
UPDATE: Was told by a member that also turning off the power saving feature for your storage card may solve the problems if the above doesn't work.
If anyone else has feedback on what has worked or them please share!
thanks for your info, just think my hermes out of order, now flashing stock rom and then cook rom.
will update my result
thanks raidzx!
this works! use for a few hrs and reset for few times..no hard reset
not working for me...
Didn't work for me either. I flashed back to official WM6 from HTC. This one works fine. I guess there is a problem with WM6.1 and Big Storage ROM feature.
Whats the background of flashing a Stock ROM first
I had a similar problem with a 6.1 ROM ( PDAVIET build 19400 version) last night - found the device unusable this morning- flashd a Schaps 4.31 at it works again now.
What is the reason for flasing a stock ROM first ? Do you thing that other ROMs leave some waste behind ?
Not working for me
New builds may not compatible with many softwares
I didn't encounter hardreset until recently build 199209, 199400, 199701. I often instal more than 20 softwares. It was often stuck when installing a programme or intensive use then softreset-->hardreset. I flashed back the last stable WM6.1 for my Hermes it was still error . Try methods above couldn't help me. Now, I am using a official WM6, everything returns normal.
So, I think that it is compatible problems.
SPL 2.10 Olipro, Radio 1.48.
OK, so I’m going to be getting a UK Orange branded Touch Diamond this week. My aim is to remove the Orange branding in the software and revert it to standard HTC black and white theme. As it would be out of the box if I bought one direct from HTC. I’ve no interest in any tweaks/improvements to the standard ROM (different radio ROMs etc) at the moment, maybe once I’ve managed it once successfully I’ll worry about that! I’ve spent a day or so reading these forums and though it seems complicated to a beginner I think I have it all figured out now! I would appreciate however if someone experienced could cast an eye over what I’m about to do and let me know if I’ve made any errors that could result in me ruining an expensive piece of kit!
My understanding is that there are basically 3 stages to flashing a new ROM onto a Diamond, backing up, loading hardSPL and loading the desired ROM. So my plan is to do the following:
1. Back up all operator settings (WAP, MMS, GPRS etc) or use something like PIM Backup (though I won’t have any data on my Diamond as it will be brand new!)
2. So, first I download the signed version of hardSPL (1.40), from here (http://modmydiamond.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=12&Itemid=26&limit=1&limitstart=2 ). My understanding is that by using the signed version I’ll reduce to a minimum any chance of buggering up my Diamond and basically it will stop me from doing anything stupid!!
3. Then follow the instructions on that same page, which will install hardSPL.
4. Now find a ROM that I want to load onto the Diamond, from what I can tell this (1.34.831.1 WWE from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=399680) is the latest HTC released ROM in English (PLEASE correct me if this is wrong!!)
5. Follow the instructions detailed here to install the ROM (http://modmydiamond.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=12&Itemid=26&limit=1&limitstart=4). As I understand it, when I unzip the ROM that I have downloaded, it includes the 6 files listed on that page, including the ROM update utility.
As I understand it following the instructions on that final page will leave me with a Diamond that is not in any way Orange branded and has the latest official HTC released ROM on it (black and white themed menus etc etc).
So, is everything that I’ve written correct, and if I follow these instructions will I avoid ruining my phone? If I’ve missed anything to check before I start or that I need to do please point me to the thread that explains it so that I can look over it.
Hopefully over time this thread can be a one stop shop for absolute noobs who are unsure of how exactly to go about flashing their device, and in what order to do things!!
Thanks
JP
I'm still a noob, too, but two things you should make sure:
- Have your battery on the phone fully charged
- Disable standby on battery and on AC power in the phone and on your main PC so they don't shut down during the flash process
I just flashed my Diamond successfully today, it's actually quite easy if you get the right steps - and thosee above look just like what I did.
Good luck!

4. Now find a ROM that I want to load onto the Diamond, from what I can tell this (1.34.831.1 WWE from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=399680) is the latest HTC released ROM in English (PLEASE correct me if this is wrong!!)
Really, that's the first and not recommended.
1.93 is the last, but not very obvious where it is released from.
1.37 is what I know the last official release.
Orange UK ROM is 1.37...
When flashing one for a friend I exprienced issues trying to flash HardSPL with 2 errors but managed it in the end with Olipro HardSPL 1.3 the but Diamond project team 2 rom on, the flashed radio rom back to 05.

1.93 is supposed to be the last official stock ROM from HTC (yes, it's English - WWE). http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=408281
How do you tell if it really is stock and uncooked? No idea, but it works very well indeed and is very responsive.
Oh, and the dev hard spl works to flash 1.93; some others I tried didn't. YMMV

Does that mean that the Orange branded ROM is 1.37? Which one should I be using to remove the Orange branding and revert to the standard HTC interface?
hy
when i download a OFFICIAL ROM from htc site
1- is it necessary to use HardSPL before the update or HardSPL it only for
CUSTOM ROM
2- and if i have flashing my device with hardspl ..can i use the official rom or the custom
rom only
Thank you
Hi,
1. When you download an Official Rom from HTC website you DON'T need any HardSPL! HardSPL is necessary to install new CUSTOM Roms!
2. And if you want to change back from a Custom Rom to the Original Rom (with HardSPL obviously installed before), you don't even encounter problems.
HardSPL never cause problems for either Official and Custom Rom's.
Thank you
You're welcome
I bought my HTC Touch Diamond the other day, and the previous owner flashed it.
ROM: DonSalariROM WWE
Radio:1.00.25.05
Protocol: 52.29.25.12H_1.00.25.05
It has some bugs and I've had to pulll the battery numerous times due to it freezing up. I want to just flash it back to the stock 6.1 ROM that it came with.
I've gone on htc.com to try and download the ROM, but when I put my serial number in it says "Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device."
Can anyone point me in the direction of the Stock HTC 6.1 Unbranded ROM?
And would I need to change the Radio or not?
Check your PM
I have same problem with my MDA Compact IV ... I want to downgrade from my unofficial rom with WM 6.5, because it is not quite stable, but cant figure out how to download official rom fro diamond and I really dont want that ugly pink t-mobile version. Thank you for help.
Here are all the stock ROMs for the Diamond
You can choose your operator, or choose HTC Rom for unbranded
