I recently had a windows mobile 5 phone with a default tuma 1.3 installation, which happily played m4a music files on windows media player.
I now have the same phone running a standard orange uk installation of mobile 2003, running media player 10, but it no longer plays these files.
Does anyone know why? If so does anyone know how i can play these files again on 2003?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
m4a is actually AAC encoded audio. Look for a player that supports AAC format.
pocket music or pocket player can play it,try it
or just install the cab I posted a few times already
Mi_MediaSupportv2.CAB
so that WMP10 can play it as well... it's mono only though..

Anyone have any ideas? What are the supported video formats?
Windows Media player plays WMV format.
You'll need to put another player on your device to play AVI and so on.
Google it!!!!
Well I am trying to stream my music files at my media center pc to my Hermes with WM6.
The wma files play really well. However, the mp3 files do not play.
In the media center forum I read that mobile WMP does not play streaming mp3 but only plays wma.
I think that there must be a solution for this.
Maybe another streaming player ?
Could anyone suggest something ?
Thanks
Orb will do what you're looking for.
yes, I know that Orb does it. Also, Webguide does it.
But I don't prefer to convert to wma on PC side.
Why does not WM6 wmp support mp3 ?
Also, isn't there any mp3 steaming player for WM6/WM5 ?
Well I'm trying to play AAC+ HE files on my Artemis but WMP just jumps to first .mp3 available in media library and ... I've tried PocketPlayer also, but it acted same way.. CorePlayer plays those files but often gets stuck for 1..1,5 seconds and makes me mad all the time...
Can anyone advice nice player for AAC+ HE files?
Thanks in advance!
Hi All
Got a brand new laptop with the latest version of Windows 7 and Windows Media Player but when I transfer my videos from Desire to laptop, they play without audio in Media Player. However, audio is present using VLC. Recorded as MP4 at 720
Any idea how to fix?
EDIT
Here is the answer http://androinica.com/2010/06/09/do...er-with-no-sound-you-probably-need-quicktime/
Codec missing unless Quicktime installed
Damn - still doesn't work!
It is a codec issue as I had to get the right codec for it to work but can't remember which one off the top of my head...I'll have a dig about for you
My Nokia 6 does not recognize all my music. Some are formated as mp3 but most are wma. Is anyone else having this problem if how have you found a solution?
Which music player are you using?
WMA support is less widely spread in Android. I use Rocket Player, but WMA support is only in the paid or with ads premium version. But there are other apps out there.
Try VLC.
or foobar2000
Pulsar
So I've installed Google Play Music and it see some music files but not all. Is it possible that when I updated to Oreo 8.1 I lost the codecs?
VLC is really great. Plays all audio & video files; I use it both on pc and on mobile
