How do I make camera templates? - P3300, MDA Compact III General

Ok. I've tried to make my own templates. I've took one of the default ones as a guide, and applied all the same settings but with the images I want.
I have one frame with the image, then a second frame with the black area that should be the photo area. When I view this in the camera, I am seeing a semi-transparent bit where my blackness is from frame 2, but not seeing anything of the image from frame 1. Can someone please explain how to make my own that actually work? thanks

camera templates
I'm having trouble doing this as well. Were you able to figure it out? Thanks!

Making Camera themes
I found this thread but didn't find an answer to it. Can anyone help in making a camera there?

I am also trying to work this out. Hey ho.

Almost transparent picture frame...

Hadn't seen any themes that had even really changed the picture frame (maybe no one uses it?), but I took it into my own hands to modify it for my phone. I tinted it blue, and it turns out mostly transparent with a black wallpaper. I think it is pretty damn cool, and will share the file with people if they like it, of course it means you have to know how to add it to your current theme - which I take no responsibility for. In landscape mode it has more of a blue appearance, but how often do you view your phone in landscape mode? Anyway, here is how it looks. My phone has a very modded theme that has a lot of elements from other themes, and several that I have created myself.
Any interest and I can post the actual pictureframe.9.png.
Sorry, I didn't feel like rotating the landscape shot. Lazy, or tired, I guess.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing... when will somebody edit the picture frame. Good job, looks great! Can't wait to see actual picture frame.png. Your baby is very cute btw. Congratulations!
I was wondering the same; why no one edited the picture frame widget to match themes/skins. Maybe you are right and nobody uses it. I would love to see someone edit it to match theur skin/theme.
So theme/skin developers, now you know at least someone people would use it!
if you look at the last few post of my MoOn DUST theme you will see a pic of a pic with no frame that i added to my latest build.

Cool. I am attaching what I did, if anyone wants to use it, drop it into the Launcher.apk and have fun.
I likey likey! But, couldn't download it. Can you update your link/file again?

There is no link, this is not an update you can apply. The image is attached to my last post, if you want to use it right click and save it, you will have to put it into your Launcher.apk, resign it and create an update.zip with an install script.
sorry, I misunderstood. I downloaded it. It'll take awhile before I can play around with it and get it installed into an apk.
But, thank you for the image! You ROCK!
Problem with picture frame widgets
Not really on topic here about the transparent frame but it's as close as I could find without having to start a new thread. With that said... I've always had issues adding a picture frame widget to my screen. I select Picture Frame from the widget list, I select my picture from Gallery, crop it, select Save and then it takes me back to Gallery again! Then repeats. Eventually it'll seem like it's saving and go back to the screen... but alas... no widget. Time wasted. Anyone have a solution?

Camera settings?

Hi,
Anyone got any good camera settings they would like to share, my pictures look ok but not as good compared to my old Omnia and HD2.
Cheers.
I'm having trouble with my camera aswell :S.
Just recieved my phone, but there seems to be a lot of blue flickering lines in camera view, which remain visible on the photos themselves.
I even tried covering the actual camera completely to pitch black darkness and taking a photo, and there is still a lot of blue flickering lines showing on the display, and they are even more visible in the photo?!?
Please HELP! Does anyone know how to fix this? Anyone else experiencing anything similar?
Thanks for your help.

[Q] Wallpapers on cyanogen 6.1 or evo period.

Ok I have been looking everywhere and can't seem to find a app that will set the wallpaper as is without cropping or cutting the edges off. I know the best resolution is 960x800 but it still cuts off parts of the picture. I've tried wallpaper set and save and a host of other apps from market and various android freeware sites. None of them seem to set them right, any help would be highly appreciated. I have an HTC evo running cyanogen 6.1 stable and everything is so far so good and I want to thank this website because without it I was lost. This is my number 1 forum so I know ill get the answer, its out their please help me find it. Thanks in advance!!
flikie wallpapers hd is about the best ive seen at this. it still crops but i keeps most of the image quality
Only thing I can think of is to take the photo you want, make the actual photo whatever the screen resolution is (480x800 from what I've read) with black bars on the side to make the entire picture file 960x800. Then use launcher pro to freeze the background so it doesnt move when you swipe. Your picture should be centered.
When you select the image for a wallpaper, you see that little box in the center? Drag outwards on one of its edges.

Thank you all for the speedy replies, I see what your saying. I have my desktop set to have only one screen already, but I went and got launcherpro cause of its features. But yea I downloaded a few pictures before that were 480x800 and it had the black bars on the sides but when I set it, it cuts off the head and feet, 960x800 however does not, it only cuts just a little off the sides. I'm guessing now that the picture is to wide and I wanted to know if I could make a picture keep its height and change its width. I don't know maybe keep the height from the 960x800 setup and the width from the 480x800 setup if that's possible.
My friends, friend has his set up so that when he sets a wallpaper it gives him the option to set as is, to crop, and i think the other one was to cut it. I don't know if its a application or if its the firmware (like cyanogen i mean) he uses, I would ask but he lives very far a few cities over. I have been combing the internet for this app or whatever, and I'm fairly new to android phones, but I got a pretty good history with computers so that definitely helps. But this one seems to be a common problem with a somewhat easy fix. Any ideas?
Are you sure you didn't mix up the 2 sizes lol. 960x800, and not 800x960. Not trying to be a jerk or anything, but I've done that before using Photoshop.

[Q] Background picture resolution

Hello,
I have CM7 on my kindle. When I set a new background picture I notice that quality is worse then original file. So the picture looks blur. When I zoom picture manually it looks much better then when it is set as background. Does anyone noticed such a "problem"? Are there any way to solve it?
Thx in advance.

get the app crop wallpaper on the play store that allways helped me

It worked just great. Thank you
After struggling with this myself, I found that 1200x1024 wallpapers fit the best on our screens.
Also when you find an image don't just copy the thumbnail actually open up picture before copying, and the screen Res is 1024x600 if I'm not mistaken

I had a similar issue, at popular wall sites I found ipad/ipad2 walls work ok but it does crop a touch off the top and bottom. These are 1024x1024 so that leads me to think agtef's 1200x1024 conclusion is likely exact.

[Q] Choose area to be pictured?

Hi,
I would like to know if it is somehow possible when using the camera to choose only an area of the picture to be photographed? I know you can crop a picture after having shot it. What I want to know is if it is possible to choose only a definite area to be pictured, so already from the camera interface as a preprocessing step.
The reason is that I want to picture graphics in a book but I would like to selectively photograph only the graphic without the residual text on the page.
Does anybody know an app able to do that? Thanks

Use the zoom feature of the camera to zoom in only on the graphic?
Otherwise, there are a bunch of camera apps in the Play Store. Maybe one of these allows cropping before capture:
