hi all,
I'm a quite new in the forum, writing from Italy.
I've installed the Schap's ROM some days ago.. then few days later my touchscreen blocked. the phone was quite OK, only the touch was broken.
Reading some post by HTC I discovered it could be a software problem, so I decided to flash my Tytn and bring it back to the wm5. I tried but the installation obviously blocked when it ask me to TAP the screen for the aligment..
my Tytn is guaranteed, so I'd like to ask assistence to repair it for free, but i'm afraid the software modification could be a problem.
any suggestion?
thanks a lot..

If you got WM5 back on it, what are your warranty concerns (or do I misunderstand?) Can you enter the bootloader and is it HardSPL? I think I'd try to send it back frozen at the alignment screen...
Yeah, just say you tried to hard reset your phone as a last resort and it still wasn't working

Hi Guys
I have got a very strange problem.
I have been running LVSV (23-04-2007) firmware for more then a month without any problems. But 3 days ago my Hermes just stopped vibrating with no reason. I didnt install any new software, everything was installed on a day one. I tried to play with settings ( triggered vibra off and on etc.) Just no luck.
So now i am not sure if this is hardware or software problem. I dont want to reflash it just to test this thing. My question is, is there any way to test vibra somehow to identify whether it is software or hardware problem ?
I have the same problem and i think is a hardware problem.
I have flash back to WM5 still no vibrate so don't waste your time to flash.

No, i didnt drop it. I am very carefull with all my phones. I dont want to open it as it would void my warranty. I will probably flash an original telstra's firmware and will send it to our supplier.
I was hopping maybe there is some secret command which i can run for example from the bootloader to activate the motor. ;-)
Hi all,
I had a dead HTC P3300, which i got it to be dead by converting it from Chinese to English rom. While flashing , it went dead, and after heaps of tries i have finally got it alive!
The problem now is that now the speaker is always on when i use the Phone.
I cannot switch off the speaker, and keep it to ear mode. Even when i press the "Speaker On/Off" the speaker is always on!
Currently loaded B&B3.0 in it. I had put the 3.7 too but that didnt help either.
Please help me guys!
Thanks a lot!
I would also like to know this, cause mine is acting the same way
Mine did the same thing. I suspected it was PhoneAlarm. I removed it from my Today screen, soft-reset, then added it back. This corrected the problem for me.
I havent installed any applications on it till now. its freshly flashed with B&B3.0.
Still problem persists, Please help.
Thanks!
I have exactly the same problem, can you please tell me how you fixed it?

ive seen this one another forum and the guys have been reflashing the radio rom and that fixes the problems.
check the forum here for the latest update radio rom and install.
Sucess.
Yes, upgrading the Radio part is most likely to fix the issue.
Regards,
Carty..
upgrading the radio rom does not fix the problem, at least not for me.
did any of you use/install the new t-mobile wm6 update?
cause i had/have the same problem on my mda compact 3 and the problems started for me after that update. also posted about it in the dutch release of the t-mobile rom here.
i started getting this fixed by installing other roms, no luck at all.
then i tried flashing another radio rom, seemed lucky but not.
when you install or uninstall any appz after that the speakers are on again for ever.
i tried all kinds of rom releases with the same bad luck, even on of the oldest available wm5 roms, and that wm5 was the only working proper, but when trying another wm6 rom after that the speaker stuff was back again
my phone is now @ t-mobile repair, cause after 2 weeks of testing *a million of different releases or combinations, the problem kept coming back.
so there went something very wrong for me with the t-mobile wm6 update, and it is up to them to fix it, cause the phone came from them and the update to.
i explained the guy in the t-mobile store exactly what is happening and the phone was fixed at least repair said, but luckily he knew how all started (minus the part of the good releases here) and did exactly as i told him "uninstall f-secure" and the speakers where on again, and i guess the only option is going to be a whole new phone (or empty totally fresh rom not touched by that that B&%tch of the wm6 update of t-mobile)
i'm thinking personally that the radio rom in that release has written something to rom that can't be overwritten again or at least in not a proper way, or that release did some to the rom in the phone that corrupted it.
but that is just some guessing from my side, but i have a feeling that my guess is not far from the reality.
for me it's now just hoping t-mobile is fixing this soon or giving me a new phone, cause the words of the the guy in the t-store where "that should never have happened and this falls under warranty for sure"

Hi Harry
i can understand you had so many problems and i know its not nice, but it is really the radio rom that is at fault, please read this Dutch forum, they have posted this problem a lot and the radio had reported to fix the problem.
link to site is http://gathering.tweakers.net/forum/list_messages/1257926
as for me i dont have the problem, never did, just picking info up from site and trying to help others.
good luck with your phone and i hope you get a repair or a new one back.
fijn weekend
That did happen to me when I used AudioNotes to record calls through speakerphones, and got fixed after I unchecked that option from the software. You could use Resco Audio recorder instead.
@ neil H
that topic is one of my daily views, but also could not find the answer over there.
guess that in my case there went something terribly wrong, and also hope T-mobile will fix it soon, cause can't stand being back on my over aged motorola
jij ook een fijn weekend, nu hopen dat de zon gaat schijnen in NL
Hi folks,
I am in serious trouble. My XDA Orbit stopped working yesterday. It turn itself off after a few minutes, the on/off button doesn't work any more, the screen turns white.
I ordered it on the first day it came out, so it is now 1,5 years old and I still have warranty. I will send it in for repair to O2, eventhought I am in the USA for a few more months.
They said i will get into trouble if other software is installed, currently, and since 6 months, TouchFLO is installed, but this does not cause my hardware problems...
Who knows where I can get the original WM5 or WM6 German O2 XDA Orbit ROM? I have to flash it onto my device.
THis would be a great help, otherwise I have to pay a fine...
I used the search function, but the mentioned ROM was offline.
Thank you so much!!!
login into the www.o2-online.de site.
there u can download the german ROM
Hi!
I have the problem, that my HTC P3300 switches off, from self, alone.
Or it crashes since i do settings in tomtom or other programs.
I had the PDA 2 times !!! at my nearest service partner. And they means that the PDA is OK.
Now i have the newest software on the pda, I tried 2 different storagecards, but the problem is not solved.
So what can i do?
When the PDA crashes or switches off alone at standby, i had to give out the battery a few seconds. ONLY after that it´s possible to switch ON the PDA.
can anyone help me?
Flash it with a new rom ?
I had similar probs a while back. Cant remember which rom i had installed. But i have flashed back to vanilla and no issues since.
The cause could be a bad flash....
Hi, thanks for answering.
Where can i download other/older ROMS for the Artemis?
Just to let you know - you are not alone. My P3300 is switching itself off all the time. I tried to re-flash with the same rom, did not help (did not try older ones). But I suspect it is really a hardware issue - because it switches of more often in a hot environment.
Hi!
Oh, that´s nice, that i am not alone ;-)
I am sad that my HTC Service Point means my HTC is OK?!?!
Yesterday i tried an other SIM Card, from an other Mobilephone Provider.
Now the HTC is running since 16 hours without self switch off.
I am inquiring how long this runs OK.
But i also think its a hardware issue.
add me to the list. same phone, same issues. HELP!
Hi!
The last days i tested my phone.
Firs with an other SIM Card, and no Storagecard,.
Then without SIM Card, only with a storagecard
Since yesterday i had an other SIM AND the storagecard on board.
As yet no crash.
Tomorrow i would put my main SIM Card AND my main Storagecard in the HTC.
We´ll see what´s going on...
Very strange...
A suggestion - let us compare the versions of the roms we have. I had this:
Artemis_Touch_4.02_Full_with_4_sided_cube.zip
(I am currently testing with original rom to see if it solves something)
i had the latest ROM from the HTC Homepage
I had the latest dutch version (original) wm6 from the t-mobile website and now the english version (wm6) from the artemis wiki page.
I've noticed that today it crashed only 2 times (before +8). lets see what happens ...
Since the last 3 days my HTC won´t switched off itself.
BUT, when i play as sample with WLAN Settings, or with the "transcribe" settings, the HTC crashed. Black Display, no chance to restart.
After, press softreset, and put out the battery the HTC starts again.
I played again with WLAN Settings an nothings happens, the HTC runs.
It´s very strange, because my HTC runs over 1 Year perfectly.
And now i have such troubles. The question is why...
I also wrote to the HTC support, on the HTC Support page in the internet, but i become NO ANSWER!!!
I think i´d like to buy a Nokia Mobile Phone.
today my phone proved me wrong. it kept crashing and crashing. tomorrow ill go over to the t-mobile store and see what they have to say...
thorx, how is it going over there?
edit/update: i reflashed once more, this time without the storage card in (dunno if it matters) and another sim card. So far (1 hour) i had no crash. ill keep posting with updates.
Hi!
My HTC does NOT crashed the last days itself.
But it crashed often when i change some settings.
As sample: changes in the WLAN Settings, changes in the transcribe setting, and so on.
It´s not really comprehensible.
No one could help... -(
i gave it to t-mobile today. 10 days to get it fixed, im in waranty so its ok
I have the same problem with my Artemis. 2 weeks ago I've put new ROM (Original HTC WM6.0) and the problem occurred so I think maybe solution is downgrade to WM5. This week I'll check it.
One (maybe unrelated question) - do you have iGO 8 installed? My phone problems started after installing it.
Duplicate post
I do not think that it´s a softwareproblem.
My HTC runs over 1 Year with WinMobile 5.
From one day to the other, i have this curious error.
Then i gave it to my servicepartner. They installed me the newest SW, with WinMobile 6.
The problem isn´t solved.
Now i give my HTC third time to my service partner. :-(
The HTC Support doesn´t respond my emails. :-((
Perhaps i only could sell my phone as damaged on ebay...
My Orbit switched its self off randomly when it was in my pocket so I didn't know it was off! It was completely random and started happening when it was around 8 months old.
My solution was to cut up a credit card and use a strip of that to wedge in between the battery and housing. Previously I noticed the battery was a little loose and this solution has worked so far 5 months down the line it hasn't switched off since...
So, now my problem is solved.
I sended my HTC 3 times to my service partner.
After the third repair attempt, i become a replacement device.
They changed the hole pda, only the HTC case is my old one.
Now my HTC runs perfectly without errors.
I am really frustrated and wanted to see if anyone could help....
For my ROM, no matter which PDA or Phone version I used, I always have this "cprog.exe" error and I have to hard reset to start all over again. It happens even I have no external software installed. That means, a clean phone also has this horrible cprog.exe error. Yesterday I had to hard reset 5 times in a day....
May I know anyone here has the same problem, anyway it can be fixed? Thanks very much.

Phone: i780PUHE1

Looking at your details, my guess is that you may have a cooked rom, therefore it can either be a bad rom or a bad flash.
Thanks for the quick reply.
I just flashed the i780DXHH1 for both pda and phone rom. Hope this is ok for me....

Let us know if you still encounter the problem.
Wish you luck.
Had this issue when I bought my 1st i780. Took it back to the service centre and they reflashed it but it didn't help. Apparently it is a chip that causes this error so if it is still happening bring it back to them to get the chip changed as I did. No more issues now. Hope this helps.

no wonder how many times, different version of rom I flashed, still get this cprog.exe nightmare! I hard reset 3 times today, and 3 more times to go to break my daily record.
flaw in chipset! sigh. I bought this in HK as parallel products (as they are not launching i780 in HK)....I dont have official support/service center....does anyone know how could I have this fixed? Does Samsung support worldwide warranty?
i780 suits all my needs, qwerty keyboard, good resolution, great sleeky look, but mine comes with cprog.exe curse....I dont want to switch to palm treo pro...but if samsung is not willing to take this back for chip replacement, I have no way out but treo pro, sigh!
