Update Report on T-Mobile MDA 3 Compact German Version....

i've done the update today after unlocking my device with imei-check.
First i tried the WWE Rom... During the update Progress it stuck and didnt boot anymore....
I then got to the Bootloader and installed the Official O2 Germany update with their installer. Now EVERYTHING works fine.... bluetooth... gps with tomtom... GPRS connection (after manual configuration) ..... I think anyone who wants a german WM6 should go this way....
i thought i should share my experience with you.
Question.... do you think it is possible to use the O2 installer to install any rom by replacing the original one?

Update a MDAcIII with the O2 Orbit WM6 update

Hi!
I want to install on my MDA compact III the O2 Orbit Windows Mobile 6 Update. First I have to CID unlock, then I can Install the update. That shouldn't be the problem (in theory). My question is: Does this update run properly on my MDAcIII? Because it doesn't have the WIFI-Chip the Orbit has.
And I have another Question: How can I save my Original ROM before I update? Is that possible? OR: where can I download the original German T-Mobile MDAcIII ROM?

First of all, i do not know where to get the original T-Mobile ROM, but after some time i did not care anymore and updated. The Update Process works perfectly and is done in about 5 Minutes. The ROM runs without any problems or errors, WiFi appears nowhere, so the System managed to recognize the missing hardware.
I have CID unlocked german MDA Compat 3.. Good Luck and Enjoy WM6

i bought mine from hong kong and when i run wm6 update it says 'this is not xda graphite device''
i wana try through bootloader but how do i get to bootloader??
anyone help pls

same here, bought my graphite in Philippines, also got this message "this is not xda graphite device" any news?

Hey;
Another question about WM6 upgrade for Asus Jupiter aka XDA Graphite aka v1210 / VDA IV . I have read about the WM6 upgrades for this device. There are different questions you may answer (if you know;-)
Facts:
1.) I have a German Vodafone VDA v1210 / VDA IV with Windows Mobile 5.
2.) I like this smartphone very much - so i would like to upgrade and keep it
Questions:
1.) Which language Files are included in the original O2 UK update ? (English for sure - what about German?)
- I found an original upgrade on Vodafone New Zealand Site - but any hints about installed languages - except English of course :-(
- I also found the upgrade on my-xda.com , but I canot download because of OEM Vodafone Hardware.
2.) Would it be possible to flash the O2 Firmware on this device ? ( my first ASUS Hardware based Smartphone - HTC has CID Lock in most cases) ( 1 Year ago I flashed my XDA phone with an Original Qtek 8310 update - it worked fine, although missing Hardware like WIFI in XDA phone)

Has anyone tried this yes? I've just got my O2 Graphite and I'm waiting on a microSD card.

could anyone please post this ROM to another file hosting site ? I can not download from file-upload site. Always stop after downloading max.200kb. Thanks

Seems to be a normal WWE Edition ... english and german are included.

Orange SPV 3100 WM6 Upgrade Problem

My Orange SPV 3100 was locked on orange and I SIM unlocked only with the help of HTC_Hermes_SIM_CID_Unlock_v3a it worked fine and I now I am using O2 on it
However, now I wish to upgrade it to official wm6 from Orange or HTC it does not work it say USB not connected...and gets stuck on 4 colour boot screen.
Please any suggestion. HELP!

That is WM5 AKU3 release from April 2007 I think you'll find

I forgot to mention I am on WINDOWS VISTA

Vista *could* be a problem.
On the O2 web site there is an official download of WM6 for the Trion. Maybe you should try to get hold of that since you are on O2.

i have also orange spv m3100
few days ago orange here (slovakia) announced there will be NO official orange WM6 update for this pda, so i decided and flashed it with tnt2 wm6 rom
my orange was never flashed before, so i did it in 3 steps, which i suppose you need to do too
1. install bootloader Hard-SPL-V7 (alias olipro 2.10)

(you have there also link what to do first when you use vista)
2. install radio (gsm part) - i used latest v1.51 - find the download link on this page somewhere (hermes wiki)
3. install choosed rom - i used TNT2 professional pp4 with htc home
in fact i did it for the first time and had no major problem (only in step 3 the autodetection of bootloader failed and there was no option for v2.10 so i choosed "newer" or so) and after third restart the WM6 booted up ...

I too have an Orange SPV 3100, using it on O2.
I would prefer the O2 XDa Trion Rom but can't access it cos it is not an O2 serial number - (anyone who has the O2 XDA Trion WM6 ROM, please get in touch!)
Anyway, back on topic. Today, I upgraded my MPV3100 from WM5 to WM6 using the HTC ROM available via this site:

From this page I selected the following link which is a file share site, I selected the free download option and was downloaded in a minute:

This upgrades to the WM6 ROM and gets rid of all the Orange stuff and all their annoying branding, it just leaves it with the HTC logo's when reseting, no more Orange stuff in site!!
I suggest you use this unless you can access the XDA trion ROM.
I had absolutely no problems with the HTC ROM when installing it. Unit is running well, however, I have noticed I cannot access the front camera like others on this site have mentioned after upgrading to WM6 - a small price to pay as I never use it.

yes this is only latest orange update for mn5 not wm6
if you have unlocked previously then i advise you run oli 2.10, ithink thats what its called basicly hard spl
this will let you instal the manufacturers rom
but why on earth would you do that
i suggest you install shamanix grass, based on schaps roms
its super fast and very stable

I installed Rogers certificate and started the Rogers WM6 ROM but the installation failed at 3% - my device is not supported but I have a Dopod C720W
Any idea?
The HTC website also provides a ROM which I can not download as my device is recognices as Dopod instead of HTC S620. I´m waiting for an answer of the HTC support team to get this fixed...
