So I have a 8525, very new to it. I am using sleuths latest WM6 ROM. I paired my plantronics bluetooth handsfree which supports both profiles "handsfree and headset" it paired as handsfree and works for calls as expected. But I have yet to figure out a way to pipe all audio to the headset or pair it as a headset. I can pair it as a headset on a PC, but not the 8525. I remember having this issue with my 2125 and having to get some software to allow this, I assumed with all the stereo bluetooth work and that this was a pocket pc and not a smartphone that this was not an issue any more.
I tried searching but so many posts come up for bluetooth headset or handsfree, not having much luck.
Which headset are you using?
I have the plantronics voyager 510, works fine as the handsfree with the phone and sleauth wm6 rom. Just trying to figure out the way to get the headset side to work so I can listen to audio books and podcasts.
I will keep searching, keywords get me results just going to have to keep sifting.
You need a headset with AD2P profile or your gonna need to get some hack to route all bt audio to a mono headset.
Is there such a hack? I have the Plantronics 520 bt headset which works really well with voice, but won't play any music. I've tried all the various cabs from this forum but none has worked. The "wireless stereo" option in the bt settings when I pair it to my 8525 is grayed out ... does this mean that the headset cannot do music at all? Even though I really like this unit, if that's true, I'll need to return it and find one that does.

I'm pretty sure pocket player supports mono bluetooth headsets. Bad thing is it costs $20. Good thing is you can try it free for 30 days to make sure it does work. Or you can goto amazon and pick up the Jabra BT620 headphones for under $40; they work great for me.

hi everyone. is it possible to listen to my windows media palyer mp3 and other audio in a bluetooth headset? i bought a BT headset and got it to wotrk on my xda2 for incoming and outgoing calls...but when i listen to my audio in windows mobile, the sound still comes out of the xda2...
i hope you guys have something for this...
thanks.
I have a PPC-6601 with the same issue. The platform apparently does not support "audio on demand" over bluetooth. There may be 3rd party software or a bluetooth stack tweak that fixes this but as of yet I have not found one. If it exists it is probably on this site, but I'm still searching.
Hopefully someone will post a fix.
This also causes voicecommand to not work over the bluetooth, which means that a wired headset is far superior to a bluetooth one on these phones. Hopefully it is not a hardware limitation.
good luck to us.
Wes
Its not a limitation... but the device should support AD2P profile... which is not still in there.. will will have to wait for it
Hey guys,
check out PDA2K_BroadcomCorp_BTUpdate.cab on this forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=14329
I believe this adds the AD2P and keyboard profiles to the phone. When I installed it on mine I saw a new profile for bluetooth high quality audio headphones. Unfortunately my bluetooth headset (Logitech mobile freedom) doesn't seem to support AD2P. I was hoping to get low quality audio on demand through the headset, not necessarily high quality audio. My goal is to get microsoft voice command to work over the bluetooth headset speaker and mic.
Let me know if you have any ideas for getting audio on demand over my bluetooth headset, and if you have a good set of bluetooth headphones that support AD2P, the file at the link above should get it working if you have the broadcomm/widcomm bluetooth stack.
Thanks for the link
Thanks for the link, will have to search for the update for PDA2k....
pda2k update
that file should work on any pda using the broadcomm bluetooth stack. it adds the high quality audio profile and keyboard profile.
i am looking for a way to get a headset profile to behave exactly like a wired headset. apparently this is not an option.
is there possibility to use cable headset like BT headset with AVRCP?
BT stereo headset are too big and not cheap.
I would like to control mediaplayer from headset
I do not need A2DP because I need only to listen audiobook, not music, so quality isn't so important.
Mono BT headset (I have jabra130) doesn't work with audio streaming on my Himalaya, and they doesn't support AVRCP profile.
any idea?
AVRCP is a bluetooth profile. If your headset is not bluetooth then it will not have AVRCP.
maybe something similair?

haven't met with any solution so far.. simply these devices haven't anything to control with excpept the radio waves.. it has only jack/etc. with these you cannot control anything.
Some headphones has an additional button which can be used to answer talk. Jack connection has additional place to use it. is it possible to catch pushing this button programmatically?
Here is my goal:
*****
Use my Cingular 8125 to listen to Windows Media Player through a stereo bluetooth headset.
*****
I have seen a lot of references to A2DP and many references to cab files, registry hacks etc. Is there one clear definitive way to accomplish this? All the instructions in one place? Would the sound from Windows Media Player be routed to the bluetooth device instead of coming out of the speakers like it does now? The bluetooth device works for phone fuctions but not for Windows Media Player.
Thank you
bluetooth
there are many ways of doing this the easy way is to find the buletooth audio toggle program. the other is to get a stereo headset and one of the new roms that support a2dp i like shogun's one best and flash your phone.
Woo Hoo i have fans, lol... all you really need is a bluetooth stereo headset and a2dp cab to install... then when you sync your stereo headset with the phone it will ask you if you want to use it as a stereo headset..
Thanks. How do I get and install the A2DP cab. Is is just one file involved or is a combination of a cab file, dll files and registry hacks that must be manually copied and applied? I am just looking for the most straight forward way of accomplishing this. I would also please like to get a clear answer on one of my original questions: With the A2DP cab installed and a stereo bluetooth headset, will the output from Windows Media Player automatically go to the headset instead of coming out of the built-in speakers?
here you go, just install this cab for a2dp... the other things you saw where improvement hacks, and those are only needed if you have choppy or skipping issues with your stereo headset, most commonly with the moto HT820
shogunmark, thank you very much! I can't wait to try it!
Absolutely Awesome Shogun!!!!
I just bought my HT820's today to take on a trip. I was pretty unhappy when I couldn't listen to my MP3's using my 8125. Then I checked out Howard's forums, which steered me here. The rest is history!!!!!
The sound quality with my unit is just about as good as with my wired stereo headset! I have yet to take a call, but heck, at least I've got my tunes!
Thanks again Shogun!!
Hey guys....I'm new to all this stuff. When you install the a2dp file, how do you get the windows media player to play through the BT stereo headphones? What steps do you have to go through?
I have the 8125 and have installed the A2DP cab. I deleted my partnership with my H700 bluetooth handfree, but I do not have an option to listen to stereo anything. I am guessing that the H700 does not work as a "stereo headset". Anyone else get this combo to work?!
Works for two seconds only !!
Hey Shotgun/other gurus !
I installed the cab, and viola !!! it worked !!!!
but only for 2 seconds, I have a nokia h200 headset, and a Cingular-8125.
I did the following ->
1) Installed the cab.
2.) Went to settings of the bluetooth, did a "Add device as head set"
3.) Synched up the bluetooth device.
4.) Pressed and held, the bluetooth button.
5.) This popped up, both the "Voice dialer" and the gave me background mp3.
6.) When the pop-up for voice dialing went off, the voice returned to the headset !
Can you please suggest something on this !
Now I know that it works ! seems I'm closer to reaping good songs, any suggestions/links you can give me would be GREAT !!!!
A2DP is for STEREO headsets, people!
Lots of confusion on this thread. AFAIK the H700 is NOT a stereo headset supporting the A2DP standard. Installing the A2DP cab isn't going to do a thing for you! You may as well uninstall it and save the memory.
If you want to pipe sound through your MONO bluetooth headset, use the BTAudio program. One place to find it is:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=260666
Also, for the person that talked about the Nokia H200. What the heck is that? I did a Yahoo search and found no such device. In any case, I am assuming it is a mono bluetooth headset, in which case the program referenced above should work.
HTH
how do i go about downloading this zip file to my 8125?
thanks for the help
Hold stylus on the file (right click), select save as,
select a location, click save.
moto HT820 choppy and skipping
I install the cab fail for a2dp, but my moto HT820 stereo bluetooth headset is choppy and skipping. Is there a fix for this problem
Oh Yea
Thanks shogunmark that worked great and my new Bluespoon Spiders work great in every respect.
Using Jabra BT500 with 8125
I have an 8125 and am using a Jabra BT500v headset. I have installed BTaudio and have a shortcut on the today screen, When I hit the toggle icon, everything comes thru headset, for 1 call only. After that it goes back to the phone and I have to hit the toggle again. Any way to keep this on? New to this, but learning alot in this forum.
stereo thru my 8125 cingular phone
thanx! i have downloaded and installed the a2dp cab
i then paired the phone with the ht820 headset.
i now listen to all of my mp3 music in stereo and my bluetooth screen gives me the choice to check handsfree and stereo headset!
and to think i was getting ready to buy a phone that had a2dp built in.
you saved me a ton of money!
Wicked!!
Shogun, absolutely fantastic. iWing headset worked as a BT handsfree on my Wizard, now with new improved A2DP cab I can listen to all the music I have on my SD card.
Thanks.
DBo.

yes, turn on flight mode.. lol
that almost sounds like a fault of the headset, i havent ever experienced that with my horrible knock off HT820's from ebay, but would be curious to see if other people with the Jabra BT500v have a similiar issue
Bluetooth stereo headset on htc s620?
Does anybody have expirience with a stereo bluetooth headset on de HTC S620 or Dash? and is this possible? And wich headset is a good one?
Fortunately, the Dash has bluetooth 2.0, so you'll be able to try the newer headsets/headphones as they come out. Sony has a set of 2.0 headsets that I tried as they had the earbud style I prefer (they stay in). The sound quality was a big disappointment though, not approaching that of wired headphones. The range was great though. Tried to watch video with them, but the audio was out of sync. Wound up returning them.
These look worth trying: http://mobilitytoday.com/news/007355/Jabra_BT8010_CES
Whatever you decide to try out, make sure the place you get them has a return policy.
Thanks for your reply.
i think i will keep it by mine wired headset
My dash was setup for poor audio on the stereo bluetooth. After much searching, i found out i had to delete the keys in the registry for it to work. Once i did that, audio quality improved ten times.
More on that here. I appear to not be the only one with the issue. If your getting poor audio quality with the stereo bluetooth, give it a shot.
I just got the itech clip headset which takes nomal earbud headphones not the headphones take look dorky when you wear them. A2DP AVCRP, works perfectly. No problems with audio quality. Handling of phone calls back to windows media player is fine Microsoft voice comand works fine as well. I have the o2 Germany ROM installed.
bluetooth headset profile question
everytime i connect my bluetooth headset or my wired handsfree headset my profile automatically changes to "headset" and i cannot change it to any other profile while the headset is connected
is there any way to change your profile while a headset is connected? or is there a registry edit that will do the job?
thanks in advance
Bluetooth loudness
Hi,
I am using the Dash flashed to the S620 original ROMs, on the US T-Mobile network.
Everything is fine, but the call volume on with my bluetooth headset seems low.
(I tried a Motorla hs500 and a samsung wep200)
Is there maybe a registry hack to increase the bluetooth volume?
Cheers,
Bela
I know what your talking about and I hate it. Only way to change the profile is to turn off your BT Headset.
I would like to have 2 headset profiles so i can have a silent one and that isnt silent.
bluetooth a2dp registry settings
So... following a thread here, I deleted everything in regards to those keys and I'm getting random dropouts whilst listening to music over my Motorola HT820 headphones. Is there anyway someone can send me their backup settings or tell me the settings so I can put them back in? Am I just forced to do a clean install of the WM6 Beta rom? I know, I'm stupid for not backing up, but they said it worked well... :-( Thanks!
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\A2DP\Settings
thats where the key values were deleted...
can someone give me their values so i can reprogram it in?! thanks!

bluetooth file exploring
is there any application or software that i can use to look at and copy files that are on other devices through bluetooth?
i used to have a samsung phone and i was able to do this, because my co workers and i always need files that are on eachothers phones and its just easier to go and get the file yourself then to have to ask them to beam me the files
any input would be helpful
T-mobile Dash and Bluetooth Stereo headphones
Has anyone tried using the A2DP functionality with bluetooth headphones to get stereo music? In particular I'm considering the I-tech S38 with my T-mobile Dash.
Thanks in advance!
My understanding is that certain headphones work better than others. Dishe over at HoFo tried the I-tech Clip r-35 with hs SDA and (I think) a Dash and wasn't happy with the results. I've used my cheapo Logitech BT headphones with my Dash and had very good results. Because of this I'd make sure whereve ryou get them has a liberal return policy.
Thanks for the update!
I followed up by searching the threads at Hofo and read a number of reviews outlining a bunch of issues with I-tech clips. Apparently, the plantropics headsets are much better.
cheers
My brother has a plantronics 590 I think it is. It sounded really good on my MDA, but that was before I had my dash.
None of them that I have tried (and I've tried a lot) sound nearly as good as a wired set of headphones. Definitely follow the poster's advice who recommended purchasing from someone with a return policy. I did, and returned them all -- an online store with a good selection and a good return policy: http://www.mobilecityonline.com

You're going to have to clarify what you mean "over my bluetooth" over your bluetooth what... stereo... headset?
If you mean stereo you have to pair your bluetooth stereo with your phone... Once paid it should have asked you if you want to connect it via A2DP which is stereo bluetooth (ie all the sound from your phone will be routed to the stereo) then any phone calls or music or GPS directions will be routed to the new audio source. Read the manual of your unit and it should tell you how to pair it.
If you are just trying to pair it with a headset their is a cab file you can install that will have the stereo sounds (as mentioned above) be routed to a headset. I havnt had to use that in ages and ages though so I dont remember what it was called. You'll have to do some searching. What it does is it takes all the audio from your phone and makes it so it can play on simple mono headsets, as opposed to connecting via A2DP to a unit that can actually play stereo audio
